Famous church with nice view over the bay🔭
Something to see/do in Vrboska. 2€ admission. Open 10-12. Outside is open 24/7. No information is provided outside on why a church is part fortress.
A stunning place with incredible architecture and rich history. Clean, safe, and welcoming—no doctors or engineers roaming around like in Western countries. A must-visit when in Hvar!
Don't bother! Insulting that there is a fee of €2 to enter this largely empty barn. Yes, it includes the rooftop, though we had no interest in ascending it in the blazing sun and heat. Considering that this is the main item (of two) in the town, we left with the impression that the town had no concept of welcoming visitors.
Church and fortress in one.. awesome look on city entrance on the sea side. working hours are from 10-12 and 18-20:30. Ticket price is symbolic
Maybe most famous landmar, and certainly most famous monument in Vrboska. Church is not open always, and when it is its open from somewhere around 10am-12am and from 19:30-21:00pm Thicket are 15kn (~2e) There are some interesting graffiti in the tower next to the stairs from many years ago (some from the beginig of 20 cenury)
Great view on the harbor and the inner city. Impressive architecture that shows the transformation of a church into a fortress.
Interesting building!

Beautiful little park, I would call this a pocket park. Right next to the water and the downtown area with all the shops and cafes and restaurants. Really old tall trees provide a ton of shade and have fantastic views. I would call this a really pleasant park to visit whether it be day or night.
Park Jelsa is a lovely green escape right in the heart of the town. Surrounded by palm trees, benches, and well-kept flower beds, it’s the perfect place to relax with a coffee or take a slow stroll in the shade. You’ll often see locals chatting or kids playing, which gives it a calm and friendly vibe. It’s just steps from the harbor and the main square, so it’s super easy to find. Ideal for taking a break after exploring or just sitting down to enjoy the sea breeze. Small, peaceful, and full of charm — a little gem in Jelsa.
Nice and sweet town with kind people 👌 A hat is a "must have" 😁
Snow on the mainland. Cute cafes and warm enough to sit outside to not be smoked up. Meeting the locals Doing the banking All you need can be found here Even a hot water bottle
In general my favorite town on the island, beautiful with friendly people, best ice cream and cake shop,
Lovely place to explore but watch out for the hords of day trippers getting off thd fish picnic boats
Much improved from last time I was here. Children's area expanded, new sports courts, more benches
Sailing holiday pop in to port don't miss out nice place

One of the best tastings we've been to! The old candlelit cellar is beautiful, and you get a wide variety of olive oils and wine to try with a presentation from the guides which are great! You can ask them anything you want to know about the wine sorts or the wine-making process. We highly recommend it!
If wine touring around the island, Duboković Winery is a must stop. They allow you to try many different wines which was enjoyable to taste so many different types. For visitors, be aware that there is no sign for the winery and that the entrance is on the bottom level on the right side of the building. Knock on the door or call the number written on the door.
One of the best wine tastings I experienced! I never though I was going to taste wines in a cave/cellar. The quality of the wines are great and the Olive Oils are another level! The basil oil was sensational. Croatian wines are really good! And if you enjoy one of them you can repeat ! Highly recommend
3.5 stars. Very nice tasting ambiance tasting in a candlelit 86 year old cellar. The reservation process was ok - we just texted the phone number and got a next day spot. There were several other groups, all English speakers. Service was attentive and friendly. The €28 tasting included some bread pieces and 4 different seasoned olive oils and of course wine - 9 of them (1 rose, 3 orange, 3 reds all plavik Mali, and 2 dessert wines). Cash only. I'm torn on my review... The barrel aged Plavik mali was fascinating and I'm glad we got to try this grape in the terroir of rocky sunny cliffs. Dark fruits and vanilla abound. It was almost desert like. Tons of barrel. The orange wines were, honestly, not that great and we were disappointed. They were all very funky or acetic. The rose was acidic and light - probably decent with food but not one I would seek out. The two dessert wines were good. One very very sweet and one plavik based one much lighter.
Amazing wine tasting experience, highly recommend 12 out of 10.
Expansive wine tasting and very one note. All the wines in particular their red wines made with Plavac Mali are extremely “oaky”. The ambiance in the cellar is nice but the production feels tourist oriented with popular film and tv shows in the background rather then showcasing Croatian wine
The wine is pretty good. We did wine tasting and some of them were very nice. Service though, a bit rude really. Had a feeling of trying to push tourists through and push wine, and then on your way to free up the space for someone else. Shame really, especially when giving them money. A friendlier service, maybe a bigger plot, and has a lot of potential to be a great place.
We had a great experience tasting wonderful olive oil and organic wines in a romantic setting with candles and film music. Owner Ivo is very passionate about his wines.

Nice location overlooking Vrboska bay and when you look at it it is more castle or fortress then church and it is not only one like that as there are similar fortified churches in Stari grad as result of the Turkish attack long time ago when they burned some of the churches. Renovation included fortified parts but that was not needed as they did not returned.
15 Kuna entrance fee is totally worth it. Enjoyed the silence and refreshing temperature inside.

A great place with a wonderful atmosphere. Very pleasant waitress and cook. The wine is great and the octopus was AMAZING!!! You just need to reserve it a day in advance. If you're not a fan, they offer a great selection of local meat and cheese specials.
Lovely gem away from the main tourist trail! Amazing octopus and a very tasty selection of cold meats, cheeses and fish x The waiters were super friendly and the wine superb! Will be back if we ever return to Vrboska
Very good homemade Dalmatian food, pre-ordering is required for some dishes which are also the best and worth visiting. Good selection of local wines. For non-alcoholic drinks, you only have water - mineral water and Cedevita. Have cash on you - cards are not accepted because it is a seasonal business. The appetizers are excellent, especially the cheeses, prosciutto, sardines, and shrimp. The homemade tuna pâté was also very tasty, but I would personally replace it with a more authentic fish pâté. The octopus under the bell was superb - tender with lots of vegetables and potatoes. The wines I tried and bought, I would recommend Bogdanuša and rosé. The price is appropriate.Service is homely and friendly."Keep up the good work.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Lovely restaurant with extremely kind and helpful staff who produced amazing local food. In particular the octopus was incredible and I would highly recommend this place!
Octopus peka was great indeed. Polite serving. Lovely place. But our experience was spoiled by seafood platter - canned, tasteless and overpriced! Confusing menu, we thought it was 200kuna but it turned out 300. Still recommend this place!
Delicious food and even better wine
Loved it! An exquisite experience from start to finish. Can't wait to come bacj next year :)
The variety of wines are incredibly good and the service provide is align with good the expectations. Absolutely recommended and to be visited every time.

It's the roof of the chapel everyone wants to see. You'll realise why as soon as you get there.
It s a very special place cause of black pine that grows on the top of churche s roof.
Impossible to describe. Miracle of nature.

Nice Church with amazing view especially during the sunset time. It's not so far from the bay area.
Our Lady of Health Church was built in 1535 at the top of Račić hill. The hill itself offers a beautiful view of Jelsa’s valley and the Port. The church has been extended twice. The west wing and the steeple were built in 1863. Legend has it that the church's altar (Pala) was made by Palma il Giovane (the Younger, 1544 - 1628). Besides the altar there are two wooden statues from the 18th century as well as a very valuable icon from the 16th century in a Renaissance frame. Our Lady of Health is the patron saint of Jelsa and its surrounding villages, guarding against various illnesses. In honor of a centuries-long tradition the villagers from the central part of the Island gather together every year on November 21 to celebrate Holy Mass. (Jelsa Heritage)

I as a amateur pipe organist was amazed to find a pipe organ in such a small church, the church is 500 years old and is beautiful
Built in 1463 by the Radasinić brothers in Gothic style. In the second half of the 18th century the Palaversić brothers extended it by adding a new altar and west-side façade in Baroque style. (Jelsa Heritage)
