Great building with historic recreation of Alf Wight's (James Herriot) former practice rooms. Very detailed room layouts with period furniture, vetinary medications and instruments. Two vehicles on display and activities for children, recording playback and short cine films. Disabled access was good, including internal lifts. Complete section dedicated to the TV filming sets and equipment. Thoroughly worth a visit to learn about his veterinary practice and his books etc.
A wonderful and magical experience for fans of James Herriot! The World of James Herriot is a small but incredibly rich museum that beautifully captures the life and legacy of the real James Herriot (Alf Wight), his veterinary practice, and the world he wrote about so lovingly. The museum is set in his original home and surgery, offering an authentic and intimate look into his daily life and work. One of the highlights is seeing the actual set used in the All Creatures Great and Small series, alongside a fascinating collection of vintage veterinary tools and historical displays about the profession. It's a real treat for anyone interested in veterinary history or a fan of the books and shows. While there is an entry fee, it's absolutely worth it. The museum may be small, but it's packed with charm and nostalgia. If you're a fan of All Creatures Great and Small, this place is magical. The surrounding area of Thirsk is equally lovely – a picturesque Yorkshire market town that adds even more charm to the visit. Highly recommended for fans and curious visitors alike!
We absolutely loved this museum devoted to the life of the original James Herriot (pen name). It is the original house and veterinary office of the man behind the books All Creatures Great and Small. We appreciated the attention to detail throughout the rooms, and were fascinated to learn about the filming of the series that ran on BBC for many years. Upstairs there is a veterinary medicine museum that features equipment used to treat farming animals over the years, as well as a hands on kids museum with some delightful sets to entertain. We left having learned about the real life veterinarian challenges as well an insight to the amazing man behind the books. Parking is in the main Thirsk Pay & Display lot in the center of the town. It's about 2 blocks from the museum entrance.
Excellent value for money. Beautifully laid out. Brought back many memories. It's visual and tactile. Films give interesting and surprising information. The film sets give you an idea of the conditions they've worked in and how technology has changed. I would imagine all age groups would enjoy. It's a must if your an All Creatures Great and Small fan.
If you're a James Herriot fan, this is a must see destination. Wasn't on our to-do list, but was a quick train ride from York, so decided to check out Thirsk. The museum was full of interesting items and information. Cool to actually be in the house where the books were written, where Wight practiced and where parts of the first series of All Creatures were filmed. Regarding Thirsk, we visited on race day and a weekend so the town had tons of traffic and the square was crowded. Outside of Herriot World, not much in Thirsk. The train station is 1.5 miles or so from town. 8.5 pounds entrance fee.
A very enjoyable time going round this museum. With several interactive games for entertainment for adults and kids alike if you want a go. Great value for money at £8.50 a adult. It says allow 1hr 30 mins to go round we were there over 2 hours. Enjoyed every minute. Not really knowing much about James herriot did not matter on visiting.
Visited The World of James Herriot in Thirsk and absolutely loved it! It was amazing, interesting, and really informative — fantastic value for money. Perfect for anyone who loves animals, the Yorkshire countryside, or the Yorkshire Vet. There’s so much to see and learn, and it’s all presented in such an engaging way. By far the best attraction I’ve visited for the price — a million times better value than the overrated York Dungeon, which felt overpriced and tacky by comparison. The James Herriot experience is full of heart, history, and charm. Highly recommend!
What a fantastic museum especially for 'All Creatures'fans. I didn.t realise he had written so many books! Set out in the original surgery from which Alf White operated. Upstairs there is a fascinating display of Vetinary equipment through the years. If you are in or near Thirsk this is a must visit museum.

View it from a distance 👍 Great walking in the area, and you can park at the base of the horse very cheaply for the day. I prefer to park at the visitor centre at the top of Sutton Bank to save the climb as there are many other great views to be had, and in fair weather, the gliding club will be operating.
No problem with car parking but not a weekend or school holidays. We did the yellow walk which was challenging initially up very steep steps/ trail. Then walked all round the top by the glider field. Dog friendly but we did put ours on a lead around the top when there were steep drops and no fences (I don't trust him not to leap off!) Downward section steep and rocky. I imagine it would be slippery if raining but the sun was out for us. Really enjoyed it.
We didn’t get up close, we saw it from the distance. For the enthusiast who wants to get up close, there is a small car park nearby. Fun to have seen it.
Lovely views and a good walk. We started in the small car park near the horse and walked via the visitor centre to Sutton Bank. Lots of effort has been put in place to accommodate people in wheelchairs (if you park at the visitor centre). Food and cakes great at the visitor centre car park and a first rate cup of tea. Unless your dog is very sensible, keep it on a lead as there are some really steep and unfenced drops. Also great for watching the gliders.
We called here on the way home from Thirsk. A bit of a winding road to get there. There are other places you can stop nearby. £2.50 to park but the money goes to the forestry commission. You can use the slope of steps to walk to the top of the white horse.
Was driving past it as we spotted it so had to park up and get a photo of this famous landmark in North Yorkshire
Amazing chalk cut out of the white horse cut into the hills. Lovely walks and the daffodils looked beautiful on the side by the car park
Not a pretty site up close, just a pile of off white chalky rocks, very long steep climb up around the top of the horse and some muddy woods to walk through at the bottom by car park, £2.00 charge for all inc. Blue badges. If you have any disabillity avoid it, view from a distance or hire one of the gliders next door.

A wonderful bird of prey centre, with some unusual species. Staff were very friendly and the flying display was brilliant. Ringo the vulture was personal favorite, but there are some spectacular eagles and owls. In a lovely setting near an old manor in tolling countryside, a good place to spend a couple of hours or even the whole day if you aren't being dragged around by an overly enthusiastic 7 year old. He loved it to.
We weren't sure what to expect, apart from seeing some beautiful birds, but the shows were incredible! The keepers were so passionate and knowledgeable about the birds and the shows were breathtaking. I cannot recommend this place and show highly enough. Thank you for a fabulous day out.
A fantastic experience for my two teenage boys and myself as a spectator taking pictures etc. Took them for the full day experience for my youngest sons 16th birthday treat. The staff make it such a fantastic experience. Really friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. Made to feel very welcome and we just had a great day. The birds are awesome. So many different experiences in one day with loads of different birds. Can’t recommend it enough. Such a great experience and a wonderful memory and a great way to appreciate nature and the efforts of those people who help to preserve and look after such wonderful creatures.
Had an excellent time here. Though fairly small, it punched well above it's weight. The birds all seed to be happy, and they worked very well with their handlers. Owls, Eagles, hawks, and even vultures!!! The shop has various souvenirs, and some light snacks for lunch. You won't be disappointed with a trip here
Highly recommended, my partner and I enjoyed the half day owl experience, but spent the full day at the centre enjoying the flying demonstrations and looking at all the different birds. Really knowledgeable staff who clearly care about the birds.
We have visited this Bird of Prey Centre a number of times over the last 25 years or so. It is absolutely fantastic. You can clearly see all the birds are very well looked after. It is spotlessly clean. The staff are outstanding. The flying displays are out of this world. Different birds used in every display. They have now introduced an African flying display for the Sumner months. This was exceptional!
Went on a whim for something different to do and what a great decision really interesting day and at just over £20.00 for two good value lots of birds to see and a couple of engaging displays of flying too.
A truly amazing experience - some incredible birds, a beautifully kept facility, spotlessy clean - a recommended day out.

Good parking facilities and from the car park there is easy access to gentle walking trails that provide stunning and far-reaching views over the countryside on a clear day. The cafe on site is excellent; the food is delicious and well presented...a cut above your normal park cafe. The staff were very friendly and efficient. All in all a great place to spend the day!
Great place for walks and mountain bikes. We took 4 teenage lads who decided to do the 18 mile red circuit which was beautiful, the sun was shining and the views were amazing. Be warned the last couple of miles are the hardest as you make your way back up Sutton Bank to the car park and there were a few occasions when I had to push the bike. There are two other routes with the green easier route and a blue intermediate route. There is a beautiful little cafe half way around where you can grab a drink and catch your breath. The views from Sutton Bank, on a clear day, are stunning. It's definitely recommended.
Great visitors centre with plenty information for the walks and mountain bike trails, cafe, and reasonably priced parking. You'll need at least 2 hours if you're going to venture any further than the immediate viewpoint on foot. To do the top of Kilburn White horse, it's on a 4km loop. There's a m/bike hire centre on site if that's your fancy. The closest viewpoint is just about doable by wheelchair with an experience aid.
Great scenic hot spot for walks and exploring.. both the white horse side where you can watch the gliders. Or walk along the top of the cliff on the same side as the tourist centre, gorgeous views.. loads of parking.. only issue is there isn't many bins around
Stunning views, lovely walks and a fascinating history to learn about. Relatively flat if you walk the main route to the white horse, so suitable for disabled access. You do have to pay for parking but didn't mind because of how beautiful and well kept the nature trails were. Definitely would visit again.
Much improved place to park for loads of available walks or even just a coffee and snack. One downside, parking tariff is 'Up to 2 Hours' or 'Over 2 hours' they could have had a few more options since a lot of walks are over 2 hours. Other than this, brilliant. 👍🏼
Great walks here to suit all. Fairly flat ones or steep one down to Gormire Lake. Disabled can do some of them on electric trampers. Fantastic views. Good picnic site with tables & benches.
Amazing views. Really enjoyable walk. Blaze had fun watching the Gliders taking off and landing.

What a lovely little course. We camped over the weekend here Facilities for Caravans and Motor homes are not flash . But they are clean and adequate. We throughly enjoyed the race day swapping between listening the band and watching each race. Definitely will come again.
Lovely day, very pretty venue and looking in tip top condition, even the weather turned out great. We will definitely be back again. 👌👍
First visit to Thirsk Racecourse and what a fabulous day! Made to feel extremely welcome the minute we walked through the gates. Really well managed inside, all the stewards were friendly and helpful. Only downside was if you are sitting out of the sun under the gazebo it gets very cold very quickly, so had to keep my coat on all day. Hopefully next time the sun will be more apparent. Could not fault the facilities or the service. Will definitely be back very soon.
Had a fantastic day yesterday (2nd August 2025). The live band was amazing, everyone was dancing, drinking having a great day. We often go to Thirsk but go in picnic area, decided to go into grandstand and so glad we did. Thirsk really know how to keep their customers happy. Loads of choice from pizza ,kebab, burritos, chips, burgers, ice cream and much more, even my 12 year old grandson enjoyed his day. Thank you Thirsk for a great day, and I never had a drop of alcohol (was driving) I would definitely recommend it for a fantastic day out
It was my first time at Thirsk and a very enjoyable evening. I brought my granddaughter with me who had a great time, she enjoyed the hamburgers and ice cream and the free bouncy castle and also picked a winner. Found the people very friendly and talkative. Wasn't overcrowded so could move around freely. No long wait for food and drinks. Had a couple of winners and a free shuttle bus to and from the train station. Thinking of going back for family day. Winner winner all around.
Nice course but the premier enclosure tickets are not worth money. You are unable to take your drinks up into the stand behind so cannot get an elevated view of the race. We unknowingly bought a bottle of Prosecco to share and because we were then restricted to a small area, were unable to see the first two races. We ended up spending the rest of our day in the grandstand because the view was so so poor. If the enclosure fence was moved to before the stand entrance, premier members would be able to access the area with their drinks and enjoy the races too. On a high note the staff were super friendly.
Did park and ride, a d find it good value for money compared to similar on other courses. Was very busy day but plenty of facilities to cater for all. Only problems in my opinion is another viewing screen is needed as those present can't be seen from the picnic enclosure. Also next enclosure along where screen can be seen, we struggled to get room where viewing ramp is for wheelchair users. Full family's using, and didn't volunteer to move had to be asked by us and other wheelchair users. This happened on our previous visit also, however on that visit a staff member kept moving people. On this last visit no one was moved the whole afternoon, even though I mentioned the problem to a member of staff. There are no signs either informing people it's for wheelchair users
the racecourse as always was lovely staff helpful and friendly. Howerever, the cost of food and drink is ridiculous nearly £8 a pint of very average lager isnt going to make people rush back

Great amount of history and excellent architecture. Staff were brilliant, explaining the baptismal font, and the mouse carvings inside the church.
Absolutely stunning Gothic Church dating from the 1400's. The Vicar and staff were beyond helpful and informative. Well worth a visit if you love Gothic Architecture and Stained Glass. Also check out the original front door and key, and the gargoyles.
Lovely little church. Friendly people gave us brochures and information about the history and architecture of the church. Unfortunately the crypt seems to ha e been reworked into a modern meeting room.
Lovely church. Rev Trev is very welcoming. Good christening service.
St Mary's Church, Thirsk, North Yorkshire. St. Mary's Church, is a fine example of late medieval Perpendicular Gothic architecture, primarily built between the 1430s and 1480s. Key features include a three-story west tower, a crypt beneath the chancel, C15 sedilia and doors, a finely carved font cover, and 19th-century restoration work by G.E. Street. Known as the "Cathedral of the North Riding," it is considered one of Yorkshire's finest churches. Best known as the renowned author James Herriot, "Alf" Wight married Joan Anderson (who appears as Helen in the Herriot books, movies and TV series) at St Marys on 5 November 1941. It has “weapon house" style grooves in its porch stonework, which are believed to have been made by local men sharpening their weapons, possibly arrowheads, before the English Civil War, though other theories suggest they were for medicinal powder. The church itself is a significant medieval building, primarily dating from the 15th century but with parts of the tower potentially from the 12th century. It is a Grade I listed building.
A beautiful church we really enjoyed meeting the people who shared they knowledge with us
Stunning looking church from the outside, unfortunately it is closed and locked on a s Saturday so couldn't get inside on this occasional

Just had a lovely visit to this charming little museum. Saw the infamous Busby Stoop chair which was very eerie and some fascinating toys made from Italian POW's made at a nearby camp. We were greeted by Jim upon entry who was lovely, informative and very nice to us. Thanks for a lovely visit.
Nice little free museum(donations welcome) with lots of interesting stories and facts. Definitely worth a look around
Super friendly and very welcoming to me and my dog. Iots of interesting facts and info about Thirsk and its inhabitants. Who knew that Thirsk had such a lot to offer, definitely a place to revisit time and again.
Lovely small museum covering various aspects of Thirsk's history and daily life. Entry is free but donations are welcomed. The volunteers are friendly and informative.

Absolutely adore this soft play! Always receive such a warm friendly welcome, love all the smiling faces in here. The food is fantastic, the chips especially!! My girls loved the frame, different to other soft plays and kept them entertained for ages. Can't wait to come back. Thank you so much!
We visited Thirsk on 30th January with our grandson, after a nice wander around and visiting the White Rose Bookshop and Cafe, we made our way to Twiggy's soft play as we had promised. Our grandson absolutely loved it and we had a couple of drinks and a bite to eat. It is great for both children and their parents and grandparents. The seating area for us was nice and comfy, everything was very clean and tidy and tables cleared promptly when people left. When in this area with our grandson, we will definitely call again.
I always bring my grandchildren to this softplay as it's not huge in size compared to some so it's easy to see where the children are at all times. It's always clean, friendly staff and a good range of food for both adults and children. They also offer different party packages including exclusive hire of the whole place
We had my son’s fourth birthday party at Twiggy’s - he had a great time as did we as the staff team did all the hard work which let us have one of the most effort free parties to date! The team members booking us in were brilliant and Sadie and her colleagues were very helpful on the day. Thank you team Twiggy’s!
We have been several times and it has been brilliant until today until one of the staff vacuumed the floor area trailing an electric flex while the children were playing. He explained that they only do this when it’s relatively quiet and carers are supervising the children. Mmmmm. Not sure.
Decent enough play activities but Not the nicest soft play. A bit grubby. Quite a lot of rough people.
It is very cold. We had a little heater in a room upstairs but it barely heated the area. Took a while for the heating in the main building to kick in. Drinks slow service but not bad. Food ok, your typical children's party food.
Our 2 year old loves it here! Our 10 year won't admit it, but he clearly enjoys it too. Staff are super nice and we will definitely be back when we visit the area again.

Ambience formidable. A beautiful gallery with some excellent art. Very good selection of prints and etchings. Friendly staff and knowledgeable. Loved it.
This place is the genuine article of a gallery, not following trends, not making a quick buck, but seeking out the artists whose talent makes every artists heart sing. I would cross continents to visit this gallery! The owners and assistants are genuine, generous-spirited and make the whole experience of the gallery visit a special one. I am not given to effusive statements, but in a world of increasing mediocrity and corporate mindsets, this place continues to seek out joy and truth. Hurray!!
A beautiful gallery for the discerning art lover. Situated in a lovely Georgian building, the gallery is superbly designed allowing for a relaxing perusal of the fine artwork on display. The extensive collection of etchings by Norman Ackroyd is reason enough to visit, but there is always something good to see.
I really liked visiting this gallery. Some very interesting art work and jewellery. Bought my daughter a birthday present fir one of the jewellery exhibitions
Stunning exhibition..... Very pleasant lady .... Just let you quietly enjoy the paintings....
Some fabulous art in quiet surroundings and excellent service
What an amazing gallery! It has something for everyone. Some galleries can be intimidating but not this one. Beverly was really friendly and her knowledge about all the artists was extensive. I bought a painting and ceramic. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on their website and dropping by when I'm next in the area.
Been coming here to look round for years and finally bought a picture. Always interesting.

Good quality merchandise at a reasonable price and a fair price given for my old gold. On the whole it was a pleasant experience and the staff were polite and friendly.
Left a gold ring with them to insert a sapphire. The point of the sapphire was sticking out underneath cutting my finger. Took it back. They did sort it out but really ?
i would give no stars if i could i sent a vintage watch away with a £40 non refundable payment and was told i would get an estimate and they would then deduct the £40 off the cost to fix the watch. i have now been told 3 weeks later they don't fix vintage watches the offer was then to send to switzerland and take 3 months plus in effect i've paid £40 to be told they don't fix vintage watches i challenged this and was told i understood the £40 was non refundable- personally i find this disgraceful customer service
Purchased a £90 watch on Saturday , no one can adjust the strap as the person who does it isn’t at work till Tuesday ! Fair enough , take it back still unused to be adjusted , can’t do it for. 2 weeks , but take it to Timmons they will do it for you ! Customer service on another level ! If you need to buy a watch please don’t use these people !
Would never give this place my jewellery again. They have lost one necklace, charged me triple the quoted price on a bespoke ring and the last time I will ever use them, they took my ring in for cleaning/buffing and rhodium plated it. They charged me for the privilege of returning it back to yellow gold. Buy from them by all means, but I personally will never trust them with anything I own again.
really 2nd rate service. was charged full price for a job that was not completed, and made a mess of my metal watch strap. seemed to be of no consequence to them. I have been to other Market Cross jewellers and have been well looked after. They seemed very complacent here!! will not use again
Beautiful stock and excellent customer service, up and above my expectations to find the correct ring for me, the cour de leon stock is stunning with something for everyone's taste, thanks for your time Beth
Had a lovely experience with the two ladies that dealt with me,very comfortable feeling, thankyou ladies very much ,very satisfied with my outcome.Very reputable service.

Fantastic walk from Sutton Bank down to Garbutt Wood. The forest was full of wildlife, nice worn paths.
Fabulous hike around the area. Lots of steps, quite steep but a great workout. Beautiful walk beautiful flora and fauna.
Lovely place to hike down too! But as what goes down must come up! Have to just take your time and be careful but worth the walk down as some amazing views on the way! When you get to the lake at the bottom it’s lovely on a sunny day! We didn’t walk all around but would be worth it if we had more time
Beautiful old forest, with a nice lake as well. If you want a quiet and peaceful placefor hiking, this is a great option
Beautiful views and amazing walk.
Great walks. Great views
This is linked from the back of the Sutton Bank visitor centre by a circular walk down and around the lake. The woods and clearly old and the path can be steep at times but it is still worth doing. There must be a route that joins this path to the walk around the gliding airfield but the last time I tried I couldn't join them. It would be a great walk if you could start at the visitor centre, walk down through Garbutt Wood, around the lake, over the road, up the hill and walk back under the airfield to return to the visitor centre.

Beautiful historic old church with stunning stained glass windows and carved pew ends from Bridlington Priory . Peaceful and beautifully maintained. Privilege to visit. Thank you and Congratulations to the Congregation and local people that keep it open and available for us to visit.
Like so many,I driven pass here several times. Finally called in and what a lovely church it is. Very colourful stained glass windows and interesting carvings on pews. In the churchyard you can find some memento mori headstones along with others ornately carved. Worth popping in next time you drive paa on the A19.
Simply stunning. Incredibly beautiful and an oasis of tranquility. Stopped here on way back from a difficult day at work and helped immensely to settle things right. The stained glass windows of the saints are lovely.
I have passed this church many many times on my travels to / from Newcastle. Finally managed to pop in this evening for half an hour of quiet reflection. A beautiful & well loved church full of history. Well worth popping in if you get the chance.
I've passed this church so many times driving along the A19 and actually thought it must be derelict. Fortunately, the church is in great shape and is open to visitors. I enjoyed a peaceful walk around and then sat to enjoy the silence, bliss. There's even a toilet. A great big thank you to the community that supports this church. I will make it a place to stop when I pass in the future.
Liked it here very interesting lots of history lots of graves dating back to 1500
Beautiful church that time left behind. There is scant trace of the village that once surrounded it, only a farm and the busy A19. The place is well maintained and even has a digital charity box. The tiny door in a door is proof that folk were a lot smaller in ancient times. Interesting war memorial.
Having passed this church many times, I took the time out to go and visit it. It was interesting to find out that the village of Leake used to be large but there is little evidence for that now with only the church remaining (with a large more modern farm also being on the site). Externally and internally the church is interesting especially on a bright sunny day.

Visited for breakfast before going to the races. Service was good considering it was busy due to being Ladies Day at Thirsk races. Bar was busy so we used the Wetherspoons app to order drinks and food. Very reasonably priced. Nice food.
Stopped here on way back from asgarth falls, Saturday tea time. Was busy but the service and atmosphere was good, we eat food n had few drinks. Food was nice but could have eaten more😁 nice tasty burgers, I had one with brisket on.bacon fries n onion rings.
We visit every weekend due to having a caravan down here. The staff are always friendly and we get on well with one staff member in particular who now considers us as regulars, he always takes time to speak to us and has a bit of a joke with us. The food is always nice and we never wait too long. It is in a perfect location in the centre of Thirsk with a small beer garden out the back too (which is a sun trap). We love the chilled vibe in this weatherspoons and is the only one we really like, the one up home does not compare.
The Wetherspoons as a pub was a spoons - needs a bit of a fix up - well major fix up just dark and dim and dated. The Wetherspoons as a hotel- absolutely ATROCIOUS! We stayed in room 3. Online it’s advertised as disabled friendly and family friendly. Yes there is a lift however it only provides access to 2 rooms. When we checked in we were told to take the baby in the pram around the back and up the lift it was a lot easier to access the room, what they didn’t say was you have to take the lift up to floor 2 to then carry the pram down the stairs to floor 1 while also trying to navigate the doors and the floor that’s on a bit of a slope. We bought our own travel cot however the baby couldn’t sleep in it because the floor is so uneven he kept rolling to the edges of the cot. So he ended up in the exceptionally uncomfortable bed with us which made for a delightful sleep for us all. The bathroom in the room was awful. It’s all so dated and tired! We would have been better off sleeping in the ladies toilets of the pub! They were a lot nicer and the floor didn’t dip and slope! We then discovered that instead of sending us round the back of the hotel we simply could have walked up flight of stairs straight into the room 🤦🏻‍♀️ then just to make the stay even more exciting something was scratching at the walls this morning 😬 Online it says there is no car park when actually there is 🤷🏻‍♀️
Never been here before, but can normally always trust a wetherspoons!!!! Well wasn't I wrong, disctusing dirty tables, food all over the floor. Should of know better once we were served drinks in plastic cups, but thought out well breakfast will be fine. Maple cured bacon was as floppy as it comes and soggy pancakes. Just needed to get out of there. Waste of time and money
"5/5 stars! Fantastic pint, crackin' atmosphere! The lads and I had a top night out here. Great selection of ales, friendly staff, big thanks to Tom the manager , top notch , afternoon pint rolled in to the night , the decor's spot on. Highly recommend for a chill night with mates or a lively bash with the crew. Cheers, mate!"
Was slightly worried about our stay here having read a couple of negative reviews, however we thought the hotel was excellent value for money and in a great location with free parking behind if space. Yes the room and especially the bathroom are very dated and the view from our room 6 was of rooftops and pigeons. That said, it was very clean, comfy bed, lovely towels, free tea, coffee, biscuits and bottles of water. Even a fan that we used as room was very warm. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Biggest disappointment was the eggs benedict for breakfast, the egg yolks were so over cooked, more like hard boiled. Would stay again if in the area.

Excellent place to visit. Tidy small car park which is free of charge for 3 hours but you must display your parking ticket as its private land. Very clean premises. Friendly, welcoming staff. Very clean changing rooms with nice hot showers. There is a larger pool which is warm and a smaller pool for the little ones and families. There is a very good value option to buy a discount card which lasts a year so you can come for a year for less money.
I was visiting the area and wanted a lane swim in the morning - luckily I called in the day before 9even with doing my homework initially) - found that the swim session on a Friday was 0645 to 0745 due to aqua fit at 0800!! Previously answered e-mail about booking or not as the case by me was answered quickly Cost of an adult swim was £5.40 Pay as you go and no booking needed 4 lanes - 1 slow, 2 medium and 1 fast with direction of swim at each lane Receptionist on duty early - staff great
If you don’t go at 10pm onwards then you won’t get on most of the weight lifting equipment. One of each thing, not much variation. You have people hogging the cables so one guy will be doing triceps and biceps but have both cables set up for each and keep swapping. Don’t come here if you plan your work outs and want to go before 10/10:30pm because you just won’t get on anything other than assisted junk
Fab gym for the local community. Would be better if it were bigger as it can get busy. 24 hours though makes this perfect. Fab swimming baths,my grandaughter loved playing with all the balls and floats etc. Large changing area, great showers and very clean.
Fabulous customer service. Was booked in for a new programme on Friday morning and was contacted by voicemail and email the evening prior at 8pm to let me know the Fitness Instructor had called to say he was ill. They gave apologies and asked me to rebook. Thanks for letting me know . Great service!
I have joined the gym as a flexible member. This is a hidden gem within the local community. During the joining process I was incredibly impressed with the customer service that I received, from initial welcome at reception, to a discussion with Jess the Manager about membership options available. I was guided through the online induction. All the staff that I encountered were fab. The facilities are new and well cared for and I cannot wait to get started! Many thanks
First time at this centre with my grandsons.Very impressed. From helpful reception staff to clean facilities and great pools. Definitely be back
Swimming pool is fine for kids lessons but the changing need professional cleaning and maintenance, current standard is poor
