It's about a 30 to 45-minute walk from the parking area to the waterfall. Along the way, you'll also pass a wooden suspension bridge over the river — a scenic highlight of the route.
Incredible natural beauty! The bridge over the water was breathtaking. Hike was fairly easy to do with kids. We also enjoyed the little drink station you can donate money and take a cold beverage. They also had bee boxes which were fun since I have kept bees in the past. So that was exciting.
Very beautiful with lots of places to stop and touch the water. You can go down to the river itself but it is not an easy descent. The whole path is not accessible and it is not a very easy walk but it is very peaceful and beautiful. Entrance fee is only at the last leg of the walk.
Very beautiful short walk to nice water fall. Even it is goog for small children, elders. We live in villach and waterfall from villach, austria is 1.30hiurs drive via tarvisio. Take care if it rains..whe approaching waterfall area there are small bridge, take care wge going up and down.. enjoy as we enioyed with my friends and family
It’s a must if you are in Slovenia! There is a huge parking lot - you have to pay via app the parking. Then you have an easy 20min walk to the waterfall that seems to be like out of this world! Truly worth the walk and drive there.
In Kobarid there is a paid car park (the first hour is free and the rest is reasonable) you have 15 minutes to Napoleon Bridge. In pick times, you should go in early (we arrived at 10 and had no problem). Otherwise there is a huge car park (Kobarid Fall). Make sure you download the app Easy Park in advance or bring cash. The route is very nice and the waterfall costs 5e per adult. There is a family fare. The river is absolutely beautiful but the waterfall is out of this world. You can continue the route and do the long historical trail but it's a bit steep and in total 7km long. In the route you can also see the trenches and a wooden bridge. If you are coming from Ljubljana we recommend getting the highway to Nova Gorica and then the 103 and 102. This path is less curvy than other roads.
Absolutely beautiful place and well worth the hike to it. We went to see Slovenia’s largest waterfall the day before (Slap Boka) but it’s such a disappointment (when there isn’t much water) compared to the Slap Kozjak. The final view point is from a wooden area, all well done. Some steps might be a bit wet but there’s usually a metal line to hold onto. There’s an entrance fee of 5 Euro which is well spent.
Nice experience. The official parking is about 20 min away. But the trail to waterfall reveals beautiful Soča river so no boring moments. As per May 2025, the wooden bridge was closed. But new wooden beams were already stacked near by which make me conclude that it will be reopen soon. The entrance fee is decent 5 EUR. The walk from entrance to waterfall is 5-10 min. The one issue is end of trail because the visitors need to come back the same way. The platform near the waterfall is quite small and the passage is very narrow and only 1 person can go through. In our case, a lady stopped in the passage and took pics for a long time. Would suggest to management to put signs in that spot. Other than that, great place!

What an incredible learning experience! When most people back home think of World War 1 or 2, you hardly ever think of the impact on Slovenia or Croatia. Even if you are not a historian or history buff, it's definitely worth visiting to get a humbling perspective on war and its devastation on people and cultures.
Fascinating world war one history of the Italian (Isonzo/ Soča river) front. Had no idea this peaceful area had such a bloody history. Well worth a visit if you're interested in history.
Wonderful exhibitions and information about World War I. We learned a lot about the war and the experiences of locals. Well done and thank you to Elka for her help and knowledge.
Recommend if you are interested in war history. The museum has a lot of images from WWI and tells the story of the battles that took place in the mountains of Slovenia. Very interesting and worthwhile.
Great, informative experience about WW1. Most importantly, the tour guide was passionate and knowledgable — do watch the show on the top floor where it shows (by topography and overhead lighting) the changes in territory during the first world war.
Lots of artifacts... Maybe too many packed together. Tough to spend enough time without other folks pushing you along. Excellent exhibit on prisoners of war.
Fascinating and well-presented museum. Also, the lady on the desk gave us a brilliant, impromptu history of Kobarid, its people and the rest of Slovenia through the 20th century, incorporating details from her own family. We're really glad we went and highly recommend it.
One of the most beautiful museums dedicated to World War I. Every part of the museum is translated into 4 languages, Italian English German and Slovenian. There are also guides explaining all the different sections of the museum. It is really worth a visit.

Beautiful monument with a very nice view of the city and valley.
Beautiful surroundings with a nice view of the Soča River. There’s a large and accessible parking area, but the road leading to it is very narrow. I’m not sure how two bigger cars would pass each other.
The major italian sacrarium outside the italian territory. A great memorial of WWI for its own fallen. Located in a marvellous place it’s a reminder for the new generations in europe! Must see!!!
Very beautiful to look at from a distance. Interesting architecture. It's a place of rememberance, so it doesn't have to be entertaining, but it is very simple. I add the fifth star, because the view is worth the walk up the hill. The church on the top was open to be viewed, but not walked into.
This place, this memorial is wonderful!
Beautiful Italian ossuary - final resting place for 7014 Italian soldiers who perished on the Soča frontlines during WW1. The ossuary is build next to a 17th century church.
Sad place Interesting architecture

Heavenly views, crystal-clear water. It is hard to describe how beautiful the color of the river is. In short, it's a must-see if u are nearby. It is hard to find a parking spot, but if u find one, u can also walk to Kozjak waterfall and spend some time by the beautiful Soča river. There's a vending machine for drinks on the way to Kozjak waterfall.
Napoleon’s bridge has beautiful view over the gorge of Soca river. No crowd when we came as it was raining heavily, no parking at all, we park on the roadside shoulder for awhile, 100meters away as there are big space for one car
Nice spot with great views definitely worth a short visit. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Kobarid, but you can also drive up; there’s a small parking area a bit higher up. Just be careful, as cars pass quite close on the narrow road. EasyPark app works well here. 🚗🌉📸
Very pretty bridge and views. We accessed it on a tour but you can easily drive to it if you rent a car.
Just a very nice place to see the Soca River, be aware no parking spots, park in the village and walk 5 minutes, you see more walking. Some idiots block the road that is a normal (not touristic) road for locals.
There is a parking place 100m away, or if you are quick just to take a few pictures you can stop the car at the street border. From the bridge there is a nice view of the canion and river with the mountines in the background. Ok if you are passing by, maybe not really worth to make a longer detour from your jurney. Check the photos and decide by yourself.
Beautiful old slovenian bridge with a stunning view on Soca river. Don't go there in car and just park before or after, maximum 2 minutes walk from various parkings.
A must visit stop within the Soca River. This spot is a few mins away to another great spot.

Interesting exhibition and video about the history of cheese making here. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Too expensive. 5 Euros per adult, apparently also 3.50 Euros for children, which they didn't charge us; still not good value. The museum is very small, not that interesting for kids. The posters on the wall do give some interesting facts about the history of cheese making in the region, so I would not say the time is wasted, but compared to e.g. the nearby Kobarid Museum, which we visited before, it's quite underwhelming.
Bad atmosphere with to little, well prepared information. The whole museum are only two tiny rooms. We payd for 5 minutes of entertainment
Open from may to end of September. Currently closed over the winter. On the other side of the street is a very nice market with the diary products and a small cafè (Planinska bife).
3€ for a small video on how amazing and pure the dairy are in Slovenia. Although it is true (as you can confirm by tasting any of the products sold in the Planika market next to the museum), it is not really worth the - quite affordable - price.
The museum is basically their way of polishing the company’s image, and the short film that you get to watch inside the museum is more an image film of Planika than anything else. I can’t believe they make you pay 3€ for this. The museum consists of one room only, and unfortunately we learned very little about cheesemaking more generally. Don’t come here, it’s not worth it.
Interesting place, we visited that place cause bad weather. They will show you movie, and than you can explore the museum, but musem is very small, its for 15 minutes max. We also bought local farmer products from shop across the street - 10/10⭐
The place is a bit underwhelming for what you have to pay. You have to call in advance for the tasting, but they offer a lot of it. So if you plan on visiting I would recommend you call and tell them when you're comming. The cheese is amazing though so be sure to buy some in the market.

Beautiful little waterfall into the clearest pool we've ever seen! Don't miss this hidden gem, just 15 - 20 mins slow walk from the road past the Sopot waterfall, over a tiny bridge that feels like something from a film set. Amazing spot, no people around, drive up the mountain was strenuous with a 144 sprinter but doable. 30 min hike from the nearest parking place
This waterfall is a bit of a gem as it’s not so well known and there are no tourists here. It’s an easy half hour walk to the waterfall. There’s a small pool at the bottom of the waterfall that you could cool off in on a hot summer day.
Short hike to the waterfall, that during sunlight looked magical - Slap Sopota. A few meter after you arrive at Slap Krampez, which is less beautiful but you can hike to the top with metal ladder in the wall.
On the right side you can hike to upper level. Don't miss it! It seems you can swim there.
This waterfall is really accessible. It is only a short walk from the village. The road is paved all the way to the waterfall, so the terrain is not rough at all. Here is an at her waterfall quite close to this one. It is nice also.
Two beautiful waterfalls (Sopota and Krampez) without crowds. Krampez is easily accessible, so you can dive in the water for refreshment. We were there alone.
Amazing waterfall. If you are brave enough you can swim under it or climb on the top of it - path to the upper level is on the right side of waterfall.

Amazing canyon near Kobarid in the Soča valley. It has a huge waterfall, 22m tall and offers a spectacular view. The price for the entry is 4 euro and it can be packed with people. It is fantastic canyoning place with many high jumps and narrow passes. There is a nice camp nearby, area that is surrounded wiyh mountains also offers great hiking and some climbing.
Beautiful walk towards a beautiful waterfall. Please not you must pay entrance fee 100 m before the waterfall. It is probably spend on conserving the environment. From there you can walk the Kobarid Trail, although it was blocked due to construction when we arrived (July 21).
Good selection and loved buying cat treats ♡♡♡♡

(Translated by Google) Awesome !!! You have to pay to go see the waterfall, starting at 8.00 am. It's worth it. Family price (2 adults and 2 children) 12 euros.
