This is a beautiful town square. It has very mature trees and nice paths, and there are benches, some with very nice sculptures. The central fountain is very elaborate and beautiful. It is a wonderful place to walk around.
Doesn't have any lights at night and is very dangerous. But in the daylight is a beautiful plaza and has a lot of people passing through during the weekdays and families e young people at weekends enjoying it.
Completely forgotten by the city government, early morning you will be a little scared by the number of homeless people, also overall everything it's getting rotten
Really nice place, but don't cross it if it is not crowded.

(Translated by Google) MAGICAL, but in need of more care The museum itself is undergoing renovations, but the park is open for visitors. It has a large space to admire the natural beauty. There is a very nice little playground for children. There are many benches scattered around for those who want to rest in the shade. A great place for the summer. There are public restrooms inside the park. There is no place to buy water or food, and I didn't see any drinking fountains. A small parking lot right in front. Free admission. The Parque da Baronesa Municipal Museum, formerly known as Chácara dos Barões de Três Serros, is the region where Pelotas began to be populated, with the installation of the first meat-packing plants around 1800. The former residence includes a set of architectural elements in the romantic style, such as a small castle, a bathroom, a fountain, a French and an English garden, canals with bridges and lakes with islands, a cave (with a brick masonry structure covered with mortar imitating stone, which was studded with raw quartz) and a two-story house in the American bungalow style from 1935. All of them could be better marked out and restored, but it is still worth seeing. (Translated by Google) I loved it, I learned a lot about this heritage of the city! The exhibits are very beautiful and the atmosphere is very pleasant! In fact, looking at the old reviews here that criticized the replicas of the sweets and the lack of connection between the exhibit and the sweets themselves, which is the theme of the museum, you can see that the team made an effort to address the criticisms. The sweets are decorated (they look like real sweets now) and the exhibit brings up the issue of the emergence of the sweet industry in the city and its relationship with the economic and cultural (ethnic) context of the region. The criticisms about accessibility are real, but I believe that it is due to the lack of resources to create this accessibility in such an old building that cannot be changed.

(Translated by Google) The Sete de Abril Theater was built in 1834, during the prosperous economic cycle of the charqueadas, of which the city of Pelotas became the epicenter in Brazil. Its construction was coordinated by a private dramatic society, “Scênica”, with a view to publicizing and popularizing its works. It was the first theater to open its doors to the performing arts in the Province of São Pedro do Rio Grande do Sul and the fourth in Brazil. During its existence, the 7 de Abril Theater received three imperial visits: in 1846, Emperor Dom Pedro II and the Empress; in 1865, the Emperor and the Princess; and in 1885, Count D'Eu and Princess Isabel attended several shows. The building still maintains features from the colonial period. It was listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1972, passed to the Municipality in 1978 and was restored in 1997, through a partnership between the State Government, the Municipal Government and Arroz Extremo Sul. In 1998, a term was signed aiming at the complete restoration of the Theater. The place is currently abandoned and closed to the public, awaiting resources for restoration. It is sad to see the abandonment of the place by the government. (Translated by Google) Theatro Sete de Abril was the first theater built in Rio Grande do Sul and is one of the oldest theaters in operation in Brazil. It emerged from a private dramatic society, the Sociedade Scenica Theatro Sete de Abril, with the aim of providing families from Pelotas with a means of entertainment and, at the same time, of promoting art. When it was founded, it was installed in a temporary building while the new building was being constructed. Its name was given by the members of the Dramatic Society that existed in the then Vila de São Francisco de Paula, present-day Pelotas, who paid homage with the baptismal name to the date on which Emperor Dom Pedro I abdicated the Brazilian throne in favor of his son, Pedro II, a historical event considered to be Brazil's second independence. It was inaugurated on December 2, 1833, the birthday of Dom Pedro II, thus becoming doubly linked to the figure of the Emperor. Construction began in 1831, when shows were held in an old makeshift warehouse on Rua Anchieta, corner of Major Cícero. It was only completed in 1834, although there were shows in the year before the construction was finished. The original plan features four columns on the façade and is usually classified as neoclassical. It was designed by the German engineer who also designed the then São Francisco de Paula village, Eduard Van Kertchmar. The theater underwent several renovations, as did some of the other old buildings around the square, with the aim of modernizing it, which came with the urbanization boom that occurred during the second half of the 19th century. In 1834, the building had a façade with wooden details, which were replaced by iron details in the first renovation, which took place during the 1870s. This was the period in which the six and eight mansions around Coronel Pedro Osório Square were built, with a style that was fully adapted to modernity. The next renovation was even more radical, and took place in 1916. It completely transformed the façade, removing the columns and inserting iconographic elements representing the uses of the Theater. It is classified as Art Nouveau. This same renovation replaced the chandelier's candle system with electricity. Another renovation took place in 1927, to annex a plot of land located on 15 de Novembro Street to the Theater. The Theater Administration and the Sete de Abril Theater Memorial are currently located in this space. The most recent renovation was completed in 1988 and sought to restore the building's original form. In fair recognition of the building's importance and the Theater's significance to the artistic world of Princesa do Sul, it was listed by the National Historical Heritage Institute (IPHAN) in 1972 and was municipalized in 1979. The Sete de Abril Theater, throughout its 174 years, has served as a home for various styles of cultural manifestations, including performances by operetta and zarzuela companies; theater companies; music and poetry concerts and recitals; charity shows of all kinds; political lectures, in addition to the cinematograph itself, which has been popular with the people of Pelotas since the beginning of the 20th century. It has welcomed names such as João Caetano, Itália Fausta, Procópio Ferreira and the great Pelotas singer Zola Amaro to its stage and, more recently, Fernanda Montenegro, Lucinha Lins, Ari Fontoura, among many others. (Translated by Google) Understand this: the Sete de Abril theater is a place of great cultural significance for Pelotas. However, it was forgotten and today suffers from neglect. I remember the theater and its incredible cultural program in the 80s and 90s, with the national artists who performed there. It's a shame, but the facade is still worth a photo.

An experience of peaceful bliss despite the rainy days we were here.. I’ll leave the words out as this is a meditative paradise. It’s an ongoing job to renovate this space so don’t expect perfection! Thanks for hosting us Roddy, Suzette and Staff…
Beautiful place, good accommodations, service is the main issue preventing it to be great. There is a serious lack of personnel which affects the experience, e.g. the restaurant closes after breakfast and only reopens around noon, so lunch is always late (except for breakfast all meals are charged separately, food is delicious), theres a fireplace in the room and no matches to light it (when we asked for more the receptionist reminded us to bring it back to her after using it!), glasses in the room were dirty when we arrived. Common areas are nice and have interesting decor but all of them were dirty and smelled of mold. Staff is friendly but does need training, we were not offered a horse ride or to use the boats, which we knew was available, so we had to ask to book it, nor they showed us the property and where we could see the animals. The breakfast table was very good but there was never a person in sight to order anything else or to request refills. Playground needs a complete renovation, the doll house is adorable but falling apart and potentially dangerous with pieces of wood and nails sticking out. It could be a perfect place for kids with a few adjustments, for example, there is not a kid size helmet for horse rides (we were not even offered a helmet for our toddler so I requested the smallest they had which kept falling over his eyes during the ride), but they do make you sign a waiver to avoid any liability. There are bikes to use for free but none for kids, so families can’t really enjoy them.
The staff is rude and can't speak English or spanish, so communication was very difficult. The receptionist always had a bad attitude. The restaurant food is a disappointment, everything is salty and the portions are ridiculously small.
Aweosome stay on the way to Uruguay.
(Translated by Google) We didn't use the inn. We went to see the place and have lunch. The place is very beautiful, well-maintained, and full of history, but on the other hand, the restaurant is very slow and the portions are small. When I say slow, there were approximately 30 people in the dining room, 1 waiter, and an average wait of almost 2 hours after ordering. The food is great, but as I said, don't go hungry. (Original) Não usamos a pousada.
(Translated by Google) I would like to leave feedback regarding the romantic package. They charged a high price and the contents ended up being disappointing. What we received was far too simple for the price paid, including even a packet of Fandangos chips, orange, banana and apple fruit, Amor Carioca chocolate... in short... As it was a special gift for newlyweds, we expected an experience more in line with the "romantic" proposal and the price paid. I was disappointed. I am leaving this feedback with the intention of contributing to future improvements.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful place, very peaceful for those who want to relax. The food is wonderful and the staff were very attentive and helpful, especially Luiza, Thalita, and Fabio. Whenever I needed an Uber to get to another location or return to the inn, they accepted quickly. The establishment falls short in communication, as it's impossible to get in touch and clarify any doubts you might have before the trip before check-in. The automated WhatsApp only responds to what is programmed. (Original) Lugar lindo, bem tranquilo pra quem quer descansar.
