(Translated by Google) People go to the park to drink chimarrão and enjoy nature. Unfortunately, the museum was closed that day... it was Carnival. There are many catorritas in the trees, it's beautiful to see them.

(Translated by Google) The place has everything to be a great leisure spot, but it lacks cleanliness and control to prevent vandals from destroying the revitalization that hasn't been completed yet. Many light fixtures are broken with exposed wires; I won't say it could cause an electrical accident only because people informed me that there isn't even electricity there.

(Translated by Google) MAGICAL, but in need of more care The museum itself is undergoing renovations, but the park is open for visitors. It has a large space to admire the natural beauty. There is a very nice little playground for children. There are many benches scattered around for those who want to rest in the shade. A great place for the summer. There are public restrooms inside the park. There is no place to buy water or food, and I didn't see any drinking fountains. A small parking lot right in front. Free admission. The Parque da Baronesa Municipal Museum, formerly known as Chácara dos Barões de Três Serros, is the region where Pelotas began to be populated, with the installation of the first meat-packing plants around 1800. The former residence includes a set of architectural elements in the romantic style, such as a small castle, a bathroom, a fountain, a French and an English garden, canals with bridges and lakes with islands, a cave (with a brick masonry structure covered with mortar imitating stone, which was studded with raw quartz) and a two-story house in the American bungalow style from 1935. All of them could be better marked out and restored, but it is still worth seeing. Banheiros públicos estruturados dentro do parque.

(Translated by Google) The sweets are good and cheap. So far ok. But, I have a series of criticisms: 1) where are the family producers of sweets and fruits? Do you only have space for pastry shops? Berola, for example, didn't even take half of its sweets. I didn't see their pies there, for example. In fact, there is very little cake. I only found it at Portuguese delicacies, which had terrible service on Saturday 7/27/24 when I went. I almost gave up buying there, such disorganization. 2) There is a need to invest more in publicizing the history of families who grow fruit for jams. History of factories, even closed ones. Whoever gets there has no idea about the history of these factories. Where are the artisanal sweet shops of the past, the boleiras. Even if they are totems telling these stories. I experienced all of this as a child and moved away from there. It was the first fenadoce I went to and I found it very poorly organized in terms of history. 3) There are only gourmet clichés. Hire researchers, carry out research on the traditional houses, cafes, and history of the center. For God's sake ! The event is very shallow. The children's park is ok, the police attractions are ok, but there is little sweet history. The candy seems like an afterthought at the party. 4) There needs to be more things like the pan with sweets being made there. It could be video, image, perhaps a closed corridor with big screens telling the stories. The workshops are also not very participatory. The public is very expectant.

(Translated by Google) A traditional event that promotes sweet culture to the world!!! But the 30th Fenadoce left a lot to be desired, the parking is getting worse and worse, you have to be very careful not to get stuck, to access the park you have to be a juggler, to dodge water and mud. What is worth the visit are the sweets, which always leave us enchanted with their unique flavor. In fact, looking at the old reviews here that criticized the replicas of the sweets and the lack of connection between the exhibit and the sweets themselves, which is the theme of the museum, you can see that the team made an effort to address the criticisms. The sweets are decorated (they look like real sweets now) and the exhibit brings up the issue of the emergence of the sweet industry in the city and its relationship with the economic and cultural (ethnic) context of the region. The criticisms about accessibility are real, but I believe that it is due to the lack of resources to create this accessibility in such an old building that cannot be changed.

Its construction was coordinated by a private dramatic society, “Scênica”, with a view to publicizing and popularizing its works. It was the first theater to open its doors to the performing arts in the Province of São Pedro do Rio Grande do Sul and the fourth in Brazil. During its existence, the 7 de Abril Theater received three imperial visits: in 1846, Emperor Dom Pedro II and the Empress; in 1865, the Emperor and the Princess; and in 1885, Count D'Eu and Princess Isabel attended several shows. The building still maintains features from the colonial period. It was listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1972, passed to the Municipality in 1978 and was restored in 1997, through a partnership between the State Government, the Municipal Government and Arroz Extremo Sul. In 1998, a term was signed aiming at the complete restoration of the Theater. The place is currently abandoned and closed to the public, awaiting resources for restoration. It is sad to see the abandonment of the place by the government. (Translated by Google) Theatro Sete de Abril was the first theater built in Rio Grande do Sul and is one of the oldest theaters in operation in Brazil. It emerged from a private dramatic society, the Sociedade Scenica Theatro Sete de Abril, with the aim of providing families from Pelotas with a means of entertainment and, at the same time, of promoting art. When it was founded, it was installed in a temporary building while the new building was being constructed. Its name was given by the members of the Dramatic Society that existed in the then Vila de São Francisco de Paula, present-day Pelotas, who paid homage with the baptismal name to the date on which Emperor Dom Pedro I abdicated the Brazilian throne in favor of his son, Pedro II, a historical event considered to be Brazil's second independence. It was inaugurated on December 2, 1833, the birthday of Dom Pedro II, thus becoming doubly linked to the figure of the Emperor. Construction began in 1831, when shows were held in an old makeshift warehouse on Rua Anchieta, corner of Major Cícero. It was only completed in 1834, although there were shows in the year before the construction was finished. The original plan features four columns on the façade and is usually classified as neoclassical. It was designed by the German engineer who also designed the then São Francisco de Paula village, Eduard Van Kertchmar. The theater underwent several renovations, as did some of the other old buildings around the square, with the aim of modernizing it, which came with the urbanization boom that occurred during the second half of the 19th century. In 1834, the building had a façade with wooden details, which were replaced by iron details in the first renovation, which took place during the 1870s. This was the period in which the six and eight mansions around Coronel Pedro Osório Square were built, with a style that was fully adapted to modernity. The next renovation was even more radical, and took place in 1916. It completely transformed the façade, removing the columns and inserting iconographic elements representing the uses of the Theater. It is classified as Art Nouveau. This same renovation replaced the chandelier's candle system with electricity. Another renovation took place in 1927, to annex a plot of land located on 15 de Novembro Street to the Theater. The Theater Administration and the Sete de Abril Theater Memorial are currently located in this space. The most recent renovation was completed in 1988 and sought to restore the building's original form. In fair recognition of the building's importance and the Theater's significance to the artistic world of Princesa do Sul, it was listed by the National Historical Heritage Institute (IPHAN) in 1972 and was municipalized in 1979. The Sete de Abril Theater, throughout its 174 years, has served as a home for various styles of cultural manifestations, including performances by operetta and zarzuela companies; theater companies; music and poetry concerts and recitals; charity shows of all kinds; political lectures, in addition to the cinematograph itself, which has been popular with the people of Pelotas since the beginning of the 20th century. It has welcomed names such as João Caetano, Itália Fausta, Procópio Ferreira and the great Pelotas singer Zola Amaro to its stage and, more recently, Fernanda Montenegro, Lucinha Lins, Ari Fontoura, among many others.
