Awesome day out here! Super easy to book and communicate. They were a high point in our Uruguay trip. We did the lagoon trail and it was fun to get a chance to learn about the area and the horses.
Horseback riding in paradise. This was an amazing and fantastic experience, riding well trained horses in unforgettable locations. You can ride to Cabo Polonio, to the Ombue forest, to lagoons, and to spectacular viewpoints. If you love the outdoors and marvelous scenery, you should not miss spending some time with Mauro and Laura. This is perfect for experienced riders. If you are a beginner, you will be well taken care of, but I would choose one of their shorter rides of 1-2 hours. Don’t miss this place.
Great experience! Laura and Mauro took really good care of me and my husband who are both not very experienced with horses. We had a great time!
Unforgettable experience. The horse I rode was perfect and I learnt a lot from him. Mauro, the guide, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. The beauty one can see and feel along the ride is astonishing. We did Valizas-Playa Polonio. I hope I will have the chance to return some day and keep learning while deeply reconnecting with nature
Me and my boyfriend went on a 1 1/2 hour ride, and really enjoyed the horses and the environment. Only minus is that my boyfriend got a very stubborn/lazy horse that seemed to not want to be on a tour. The staff was aware, but gave him that horse anyway. I think they could have handeled it better. Other than that, we were happy with the Cabalgatas Valiceras.
A perfect Day. Thank so much!

(Translated by Google) Excellent!!! A short and beautiful adventure. The encounter with hundreds of years made green and dreams, woody and latticework the ombú, here Marcos guide and custodian, shows us how it becomes hollow and new when it grows, shade for the crowns, pure wood and good firewood, between 300 and 1000 years of storms and suns and the countryman's eaves on the coast of the valizas river, and the birds, the mullets jumping around our boat and roseate spoonbills, body shots and real shots, all tame and beautiful. Thank you for taking care of this paradise and even more thank you for preserving it. Thanks 🙂 (Original) Excelente!!! Gracias 🙂
(Translated by Google) We did this walk with Marcos and another man whose name I don't remember, after making a telephone reservation, although at this time there are enough places to go. We depart by boat from Route 10 and the Arrollo Valizas, to Laguna de Castillos. There you go down to Monte de Ombúes de Los Olivera. Marcos shows you the different trees, telling you the peculiarities of each one, how they grow, how they take care of them, etc. It tells you where you can take fun photos and has a special gift for entertaining children. Then you cross by boat to the municipal ombúes mountain that is opposite, on the other side of the stream, here the route is smaller and you can see a mountain of ombúes without intervention of man and livestock. And it ends by returning to the starting point on the boat, watching, in our case because we did the tour in the afternoon, how the sun goes down. The route is beautiful, super quiet, they show you the different birds that can be seen along the route. And the arrival at Mount Ombues with the Castillo Lagoon in the background is beautiful. Super recommendable ride, we loved it and we all enjoyed it a lot!
(Translated by Google) I edit my review to respond to the person who answered me: Being a foreigner and as I understand there is only one ombú forest, this is divided between its private land and state land. That being the case, I visited the state area with great pleasure. I wanted to post a positive note since my experience was exceptional with my guide and the environment. On Google Maps there is only one point in this park called "Bosque de Ombúes". It seems a shame that you complain that way and accuse me of misinformation. Think about why when I arrived at the town I didn't see any information signs, and when I spoke to the population, no one recommended you. Think about it. I also recommend that many times it is not worth fighting against your neighbors, but rather teaming up and promoting a very interesting tourist spot. If I am wrong in my deductions I apologize, but do not mistreat the tourist who comes to enjoy your country. We arrived at the Valízas Bridge and a lady quickly recommended someone to guide us on the route. Siro was our guide and thanks to him the experience was memorable. We sailed along the canal towards Lake Castillos in a calm manner, watching birds while Siro told us about them, the flora, and the customs of the area. When you reach the lake, you get off the boat at a small pier and head into the forest. In this you find nature in its wild state. It had been years since I had seen a forest so little manipulated by man. I recommend: Go at sunrise or sunset. Put on mosquito repellent. Bring a good camera with zoom. Go during shrimp season to see how the lake lights up after dark. Bring water. Navigate and walk in silence so as not to scare away the animals. Price per person: 800 pesos in cash. Time: approximately 2 hours. The only downside: The empanadas bought in town were very bad (dry).
(Translated by Google) We coordinated prior to arrival, they treated us very well and we arrived just for the sunset in the mountains. It is not easy to describe the experience, I only recommend it The transfer by boat to the Olivera parador is worth it, in the afternoon you can see birds such as royal teros, chajas, storks. In the mountains they guide you and you learn a lot about the Ombues, their antiquity and the way to get rid of what they don't want." You can connect perfectly with the place.

(Translated by Google) We went to visit this place, to take a walk. It starts from a place on the side of the road, by the Valizas stream (Dpto Rocha), there are some houses and stalls. From there, a guide takes you by boat, taking a tour of the lagoon, while you spot birds: storks, eagles 🦅, flamingos, chaja, among others! When you reach the forest, you walk for about 20 minutes, it seems like something out of a story, a charming place, with lush vegetation of ombues, butias and crowns. If you love nature, you can't miss this place!
