Beautiful peaceful place of bogs and swamps. You can cross the bogs on some boardwalks and see the lingonberries, blueberries, tiny Venus flytraps, some ducks, dragonflies etc. There's an observation tower in the middle of the main bog... and best of all, a platform where you can dive into and swim in one of the deeper bog pools! An amazing experience!
Beautiful place. It's nice to go alone and just enjoy the peace and feel the energy it gives you. I loved it there and I definitely recommend it. It's a nice getaway from people.
One of the most beautiful natural parks I have ever been. Well marked hiking trails and amazing bog ecosystems.
There is NOTHING AT THIS SPOT. The National park itself is huge so search for walking trails.. we made the mistake of coming and expecting to hike from here. Then had to walk all the way to (near) Kasmu to start one. The Kasmu hike was nice and we certainly got a dose of nature and away from people which was the plan but it was unfortunately ravaged by storm and not nearly so pretty as I was hoping.
Amazing walk along the bogs. The north point of Estonia was great as well but I recommend taking good shoes.
Amazing place so beautiful with lots of trails and mansions
Absolutely beautiful, a must do when in Estonia!
I went on a day tour to Lahemaa national park from Tallinn, and it was absolutely beautiful. So many nice sites and views but we were also blessed with good weather.

Beautiful manor in the middle of a fantastic park landscape. The interior is mostly original, very well renovated and arranged. In every room there are descriptions available about the use of the room but also details about life at that time. The libraries contain a large variety of different books from whole Europe. Really very interesting. I strongly recommend.
Very beautifull! Grate way to see the past.ovely reconstruction of the era. The gardens and lake were magical. We totaly recommend.
Beautiful Historic Manor 🏛️🌿 Palmse Manor and Open-Air Museum is a lovely and peaceful place surrounded by nature, offering a fascinating look into Estonia’s noble past. The gardens, ponds, and walking paths are beautifully maintained and perfect for a relaxing visit. At the moment, the main manor building is undergoing exterior renovation, so you might hear some construction sounds, but it doesn’t affect the visit much. Still a wonderful place to explore and enjoy!
Very nice garden, intersting interiors
Nice historic place. It rained a lot so our visit was quite short.
Easy morning at this Manor . We took the blue trail - nothing too difficult…. So peaceful . Had a picnic by the lake . Good family time
Was closed due to reconstruction. Nice Lady at the information point (which was open for some reason ...) told us there was another manor house about 8 Kilometers away, which also had a restaurant. Well ... it was more like 20 Kilometers, the building was totally run down, the restaurant was akiosk and it was closed. I am sure that Palmse manor is quite lovely - alas, our experience at that particular day in the fall was kind of... adventurous.

We had a really nice afternoon with the owner of this museum. Loved this place, if you're interested in maritime stuff. It's the right place. Actually, the owner is really kind and gives you a lot of information related to Käsmus history. The village is picturesque and you'll love it.
Quirky place to visit. Not much was explained in English but it's a cool place to look around. A lot of paintings and really old photos. They also serve lunch at 2pm which includes pet tasty salmon but reservations are required a day ahead.
Great tour with the host. They teach you about things
Small maritime museum about an hour away from Tallinn. Well worth a visit. Lots of interesting items to see all set in a charming building. Admission was free and it was close to a small beach. Beautiful scenery all around. You can have a meal and refreshments here.
Great little museum. Käsmu is a nice little holiday town with some beautiful houses. The museum is very quaint and shows the history of the sea captain school and the shipping background of the area. There is plenty to see inside with lovely and knowledgeable staff. Outside there's the old lighthouse and some cool old buildings and a viewing platform. Outdoor seating in old boats and picnic areas with fire pits are available too.
A very interesting place to know about sea, history of fishing! Huge collection of different things. The owner of this museum is a very charismatic man with a good sense of humour.
A beautiful house by the sea with an astonishing view and collection of maritime artifacts. The lovely owner, who also lives there, gave me a very broad overview of the towns history and the showcased items. I would definitely recommend to stop by and have a chat with her. She also gave some helpful tips on the local hiking trails and surrounding nature. 😌👌
This is a place where the museum owner really lives so, walking here, you can see some things actually used by him mixed with museum exhibits. At a glance, everything looks messy but, looking into details, you can see a lot of interesting things. It is better to ask the owner more.

A small but very fascinating museum of forest nature. Lots of interactive exhibits, games, cinema, harvester management simulator. Interesting for the whole family. For June 2024, the entrance ticket also entitles you to an internal tour of Sagadi Manor.
Surprisingly nice, brand new little museum about forests and forestry in Estonia. Plenty of electronic and physical displays, interactive features etc. Worth 45-60 mins, especially with kids.
You can visit two museums with one ticket. Sagadi forest museum is located in Sagadi manor garden. Very instructive and interactive museum. You can learn details about Estonian forests. Very good place to teach kids how to protect and grow forests.
Really interesting museum, not only for children but also for adults. Very interesting modern concept: not only “look” but also “do, experience”. Highly recommended!
Very educational and well curated, expect to spend about 30-60 mins here.
Nice museum, a nice chance to learn and understand the environment better (especially the forests!) + a great shop downstairs - probably the best place to buy souveniers from Estonia! You can find many things available in Tallinn or at the airport, but much cheaper, as well as things you'll not find anywhere else! Both places recommended! As well as the manor house, of course!
A great one, interesting for both kids and adults
Small but interesting museum. Too many artifacts of the same type presented without an apparent logic.

So much to discover and the sea is always near by, my happy place
Visited the trail in wintertime. Takes some effort and good boots to manage it. Average speed below 3kmh. Lovely nature, with changing sea landscape, depending on which side of peninsula you are. Appropriate information posts. Trail marking could be somewhat more nature friendly, preferably without plastics.
Lovely and refreshing trail. There is a swing at the end, which is a special treat. You can also walk out to an island if the tide is low and the birds are not nesting.
Käsmu is a beautiful place to visit. Amazing views and a peaceful atmosphere. Quite nice beaches for swimming or just enjoying the sun. The trail is very easy to walk through and isn't too long. Also, an option to walk to Devil's Island through the shallow water.
Beautifull hiking trail along the beach of the Baltic sea and through the Käsmu forest. Route very clear, including dirt, gravel, and sand paths.
Great tour, wonderful views of the sea with a little beach with sand and rocks, great for a bit of play time with kids by the water!
A scenic trail along the coast and thru a pine forest with moss covered boulders
Variety of different landscapes and views. A pleasant hike!

Easy to access and there is no entrance fee. Very nice view to the see from the castle. I was there in January and decided to came back in October. Different season different feeling and look, but both are really nice.
Scenically located castle ruins tucked away in beautiful greenery — a perfect spot for a quiet stroll and a bit of history. There are a few info boards on-site, entry is free, it's peaceful with no crowds, and there’s free parking just a short walk away.
Toolse Fortress offers a pleasant and peaceful outing for those looking to explore a lesser-known historical site without the crowds. Visiting on a Sunday proved to be ideal, as the area was quiet and not at all busy. There is a small parking area available free of charge. From the parking lot, it’s approximately a 200-meter walk along a path to reach the fortress. The walk is easy and accessible, and along the way, visitors will find a few informational signs providing historical context about the site. Be aware of mosquitos. The fortress itself stands close to the shoreline, offering scenic views of the Baltic Sea. The natural surroundings are striking, with open fields. It’s a great spot for photography or simply enjoying the environment. One word of caution: we came across some venomous snakes, present in the tall grass around the area, so it’s wise to stay on the paths and remain alert, especially in warmer months. Overall, Toolse Fortress is a hidden gem that combines natural beauty with historical interest, making it well worth a visit for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
We tried reaching it in November, unfortunately unsuccessfully as it was full of snow. Snow reached even my knees. Will try to go there in more friendly weather. An update from 2024-09-07 Very beautiful place, definitely worth visiting.
It is a nice place to visit. I did like the informative sign side of it. It does look like some of it is about to fall apart. Parking quite limited in summer.
Easy to find and access. Beautiful ruins in amazing scenery. A bit hazardous with small and active children 😅 Well worth the drive if you are into castles. Most northern Roman empire outpost.
Good place. With good views
I visited this place 4 years ago. Again, I find the castle very nice and the views to the sea are beautiful. However it breaks my heart how a place like this with all its interesting history is left abandoned. There is absolutely no museology than a few descriptive plaques. Not to mention zero protection for the people walking around. Zero stars to the ministry of culture.
