The paintings of Master artist Piero della Francesca, who was born in Borgo Sansepolcro, are here and are some of the finest you can see, including the Resurrection fresco in its original setting. Worth the entrance price itself, although there are often interesting exhibitions in the basement as well.
A must visit place for painting enthusiasts. Some masterpiece frescoes of Piero della Francesca are exhibited here. The museum is not crowded at all, so you can enjoy his works, as well as the rest of the exhibition, in peace and contemplate it as long as you wish. I have been there twice already and I know I'll be coming back. Very memorable experience.
Really interesting museum, mainly focused on 15C and 16C paintings, with a lot of works by the local artists Piero della Francesca (1412-1492) and Raffaellino del Colle (1490-1566). Well labelled, often in English. Interesting accounts of how some of the paintings were carefully restored. €8 to enter, €5 for concessions. Closes for lunch.
A must for Piero della Francesca fans! Very friendly staff, beautifully exhibited masterpieces and you’ll have them mosty to yourself! Mille grazie!
One of the most famous mural painting by Piero de la Francesca. Interesting exhibition regarding the perspective in painting.
The place to indulge in some of the most famous masterpieces of Piero della Francesca.
Very nice museum. Only three Pietro Della Francesca's frescos and one amazing Madonna Della Misericordia. On Fridays and Sundays there's a piano suggestion too
A unique museum where you can find the works of arts and famous paintings of PERO DELLA FRANCESCA and many others.

A favorite local museum in a Bourbon Palazzo. Small enough to be manageable but full of interesting things related to our centuries old history of herbal medicine. Sweet gift shop is a bonus.
This small museum.was a lovely surprise. We took our time exploring the beautiful rooms. A feast for the senses! Be sure to visit if you are in town.
A wonderful experience to see the history of humans and how we have used plants for medicine for centuries. Downstairs is modern representation how the products are currently created and there is also option for purchasing.
This museum is small but very well done. Very informative and the kids were very interested. Inside the museum the information is in Italian, but at the entrance you can pick up a leaflet with everything translated in impeccable English. Very friendly staff as well
Fantastic little museum. Make sure to pick up the English language guide at the entrance if you can’t read Italian so you can read along as you move through the rooms. The rooms are stunning and we loved looking at all the different artifacts, herbs, botanical prints etc. Also, this is for sure the best smelling museum we have ever been to!
Nice and interesting museum, absolutely pet friendly and that’s a huge plus! Worth visiting ☺️
Interesting little museum related to herbs and natural remedies as medicines.

The tripartition of the naves offers the visitor a sacred place, which respects the basilica construction concept, in which the faithful participate in the religious mystery with all their will. The pictorial decorative apparatus offers compositions depicting episodes in which the portrayed figures excite those who observe them, with great participation and understanding. The altarpiece by Santi di Tito depicting the disbelief of Saint Thomas intends to convey to those who look at it the refinement of the touch with the surprise of the apostle who favors doubt over a fideistic attitude. The Trinity and the Saints is a canvas by Durante Alberti that leaves you amazed by the strength of the design and the color impressed on the panel. Perugino's ascension is the emblem of the perfection of the pictorial composition, where the artist gives us a narrative in which the portrayed figures all occupy their correct position within the canvas. Bartolomeo della Gatta and Raffaellino del Colle are the authors of two canvases of irrepressible aesthetic beauty, respectively depicting the crucifixion with saints and the resurrection of Christ. And then the Holy Face, an oriental crucifix dating back to the 8th century, which captivates every gaze that rests on the face of Christ. You leave and immediately want to return to admire the absolute masterpieces present in the Duomo.

A stunning monastery with great views and waterfalls to visit. There's a unique feature here where you can go and rest on the stone where Saint Francis slept and prayed. The energy one feels is undeniably powerful. I have always walked away from here renewed and peaceful.
Great historical landmark in the territory. Definitely a place to visit at least once to get the full view on the valley. The road is well paved and can be done both on foot or by car. I recommend taking the car up to the abbey if you're not too fond of steep inclines. If you are into trail running or hiking then its a great place to get a workout with a view!
Met an interesting Monk, fortunately my cousin speaks Italian, so we heard some interesting stories.
Nice place where we can refresh mentally, spiritually. A place of silence

We always debate between Umbertide and Sansepolcro, with teenagers Sansepolcro is the winner. Nice diving platform and nice slides.
Only local spot in town for a swim in hot weather. 2 long slides, diving platform and Olympic size pool. Bar as well. 5 euro entry. Can get crowded in summer.
Great facility. Not new but clean. Pool a good temperature for training in.
Bit disappointing. The slides were closed. Very busy. Playing football by the pool. Very annoying.
Very pleasant to spend a relaxing day

(Translated by Google) The church of San Francesco was built between the 13th and 14th centuries in Gothic style. In the 16th century it passed to the Conventual Friars Minor, who managed it until 1987. After the 1948 earthquake, the church and bell tower underwent important structural restorations. The stone façade features a Gothic portal, while the interior, renovated in the eighteenth century, preserves works of art such as the statue of Saint Anthony of Padua and altars with paintings of great artistic value. (Translated by Google) The fourteenth-century exterior, with a façade and a beautiful splayed portal, in Gothic style with a trefoil arch and an oculus that provides light inside, intrigues the traveler who, upon crossing the entrance, is surprised, since the architectural appearance is completely different. In fact, the changes made to the ancient architectural appearance of the interior date back to the 18th century, which today give us a totally renovated church of San Francesco, with a hemicycle choir and a well-structured vault, albeit with interesting 17th-century pictorial decorations.

(Translated by Google) The Church of San Francesco, like all places of Franciscan monasticism, transmits religiosity and the spirit of life based on poverty, essentiality and simplicity. Upon entering you are surprised by the single nave and the dim light. It almost seems like a sacrilege to go around and visit it like tourists. It pushes you to sit down, put your head in your hands and reflect and think. The altar is magnificent, it seems enveloped in a light from other centuries. I highly recommend visiting this Church. A few steps from it are the Civic Museum and the Aboca Herbal Museum. (Translated by Google) Just opposite the Giardini Piero della Francesca is the small Chiesa di San Rocco, I would describe it more as an oratory. The first thing you notice on the simple facade is the simple wooden cross. The Comognia del Crocifisso built this church in 1554. In addition to the frescoes by the Alberti brothers, the replica of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem is particularly impressive. Don't pass by, definitely take a look.

First we went to the tourist office and found a very competent and kind employee in giving the indications on what to see in Sansepolcro, giving us information and suggestions on how to organize the visit to the town, then I threw out the ranking question of where one could eat well at reasonable costs, and she underlined that here everywhere one eats well at not exaggerated costs and good quality On his advice we went to see the Aboca museum, it was very interesting.

The building on two floors has few works on display and not by the aforementioned Piero, but very well arranged. On the other hand, there are several reconstructions of Piero in excellent and evocative multimedia videos, especially for children. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and very kind. It's worth seeing.
(Translated by Google) The House of Piero della Francesca preserves the charm of the past intact. Owned by the Franceschi family since the 14th century, the building was inhabited by the painter and his family. Over time it suffered fires and changes of ownership, until its public purchase in 1990 to house a study centre. Today it is a museum that celebrates the artist, enhances the original architecture and hosts exhibitions, a library and multimedia installations.

They rearranged a room on the 0th floor, where they placed the video installation of the polyptych of St. Augustine by Poldi Pezzoli, without a poster explaining its history and provenance in the room. They removed a video from the stairwell, and several costumed mannequins, and it was almost empty. Rooms 2, 3 and 4 are wasted, the exhibition room, the study and the small living room with grotesques. I don't understand why not put up more information panels, things are mentioned and not explored in depth, from the three treatises written by him, to the relationship with Pacioli, explanations that could also be placed in the area of the old house, on the parents' tannery, the three spaces/rooms linked to the work on perspective, exploited to a minimum. The first floor is more interesting, with the history of the Hercules fresco, the jewels inspired by his works, and the view of the nearby church.

It is said that during World War II, a British officer who had never seen this painting, who was ordered to bombard this city, remembered Huxley's phrase and saved the city by stopping the bombardment to avoid becoming a cultural criminal. Seeing the city's revival requires considerable effort, switching between trains and infrequent buses, but it is worth it. Although most people would not agree that it is the best painting in the world, it is certainly a moving work that can be compared to The Last Supper. Best Café! Matteo was so kind to make a small aperitif after our civil wedding in Sansepolcro and it was amazing!!! Thank you Matteo
Lovely cafe - very friendly and delicious food. We got married in the library opposite and afterwards came to the cafe for lunch. Booked the table over WhatsApp which was very straightforward (spoke good English). They accommodated our veggie and vegan guests easily. Table was ready as soon as we got there. Great service, attentive and friendly.
Very good customer service and nice one
Always made to feel welcome 🙏

Great experience Great appetiser and good cocktails with cool, happy vibe with cute interior design High recommended
Just had wine €5 and a lovely Aperitif. Friendly service, cosy inside.
Great location on the Piazza Torre di Berta, friendly service, generous salads and excellent pasta dishes. Recommended.
Our happy place in Sansepolcro! We always receive such a warm welcome here from Francesco and Lorella, and their lovely staff. As we have returned again and again over the years and enjoyed the atmosphere, wonderful food and drinks, and warmth from the heart, this has become such an important part of our holidays! Our children even write in their schoolwork about what they enjoyed on their holidays ‘the pool and going to Happy Bar!’.
Atrocious service : "happy bar" but the waiters weren't smiling at all. We ordered couple Sprite that took at least 30 minutes to arrive. And when they did, they were filled with too much Aperol and not so much Prosecco, so it was undrinkable. Not recommendable at all. This city is filled with others bars/restaurants. You'll find your "happy" vibes elsewhere. No, no it was in your restaurant. I am deeply sure.
Great outside eating and food was delicious! Our waiter was very polite and prompt. Loved it.
Right on the Piazza di Berta where the contours of the tower, demolished by the nazi's, are visualized by benches and plants. Nice bar, friendly personel.
Nice bar for an Italian aperitivo in the main square, friendly staff and good drinks with nibbles to snack on.
