This beach is amazing. Beautiful water and the water was very calm, very soft sand. We came here by foot from Celorio, it took us about 1 hour. We saw a small parking lot next to the beach.
Gets crowded... However lovely beach. You'll need cash for parking!
Lovely beach with an unfortunate English name. We arrived as the tide was coming in and saw the transformation from a bay with a sand flat to one filled with water. We swimming around the corner closer to the sea. The water is colder as there is deep water coming into the bay. At mid tide there are some heavy waves as the water is coming over the sand bank. Children need to take care even though there were a couple of life guards on duty as the waves can smash you into the rocks.
Genuinely one of the most incredible beaches I have ever been to. Kinda smells like poo tho
Unfortunately lived up to its name when we visited on Sunday 17th August. Hand written sign on the beach saying it was closed to swimming on due to pollution in the water (e.coli). Lifeguard confirmed it was due to a recent storm causing a sewage spill from further up the river. We saw black effluent visible in some of the pools just upstream from the beach. Suggest checking with the lifeguard for updates before entering the water.
We walked here from Llanes after reading reviews. We went by the cliff path but returned via the road - much better. In English, Poo isn't great, but Poo Bay is superb!👍 Highly recommended for a great day out. We arrived at low tide, but that wat still good, the waves gave us great fun, and the water was soooo warm😀 After about 2 hours, the tide turned, and we enjoyed the larger waves coming in. Later in the afternoon, we had a sidra cider at the beach bar, and it was great👌 A superb day out from Llanes👌
The place is amazing but make sure to check online when the tide is high. If you go when it's low the beach will be wide and full of algae. The parking is with payment of 4 euros for the full day.
Beautiful beach, ideal for children and non swimmers as it is very shallow. Superb restaurants as well. If you go once, you will want to keep going back.

I spent five hours on the way to that stone and it absolutely worth it! Beautiful place with beautiful view
Nice walk up the hill. Beware that the Google maps point is several km up the wrong road. Be sure to park at the ugly concrete information centre and walk from there.
(Translated by Google) Highly recommended. It's about a 900-meter climb up a pebbly path. Leave your car in the designated free parking lot and start walking. It's a blessing to be able to see the 3,000-year-old idol, which is 5,000 years old! The guide also kindly told us all the details. (Original) Muy recomendable.

My son spent 6 days this summer at Escuela de Surf and this is the second time that we have taken lessons at the school. Our experience was amazing from communication regarding the lessons and what to expect, to the communication the day of the lessons, and the lesson itself. My son had Mateo and learned so many things to help him hone his skills. Mino also spent time with my son regarding a surf skate. He showed him how to surf skate and helped him get started (Mino sells the boards at the school). My son's experience at the school was exceptional.
It was amazing to come across Llanes surf school and be able to go out in the water at a beautiful beach (pictured). It was one of the highlights of my too short visit to Poo. I would highly recommend taking the opportunity to go surfing with Mino, he is a professional and patient teacher. It was an all round wonderful and fun experience and I’m happily giving a 5 ⭐review. I hope to be back!
Fantastic instruction! Very patient with our 11 and 13 year olds. They chose the best beach and conditions for our specific day and made it much better for first-time surfers! Highly recommend for your Asturias surf adventure 😎
Mino is a great surf instructor. I felt very safe and taken care of. You can tell that he cares that his learners have a great time and is attentive of each student. He explains the technique well and puts a lot of effort into ensuring that everyone catches a wave or two 🌊. I 100% recommend taking surf lessons with him.
What a brilliant week with Mino and his team. We were 7 children and 5 adults and we loved every second of our course. Rarely have I seen the children so eager to do an activity and all of this was done with the perfect backdrop of the Asturian coast and ideal conditions for learning. So, if you have to go to Asturias to surf (which I wouldn't recommend because I want to keep it to myself!), then Surf Llanes are UNBEATABLE.
My two boys learnt to surf with Meno and have been every year since.. maybe 7 years now!! The instructors are amazing and lovely people too. Enjoy!
Meno and his team offer the most amazing surf lessons. They teach only in small groups (up to 7 people max) to be able to give individual feedback to maximize your personal surf progress. Furthermore, they share their love for Asturias by taking you to the most amazing, different beaches! I can't wait to go back there!
I visit the surf classes every year. There are the best I have ever experienced. Even after just one lesson you can notice the improvement. This classes are perfect for beginners and advanced surfers. Also the instructers are very kind and really know what they are doing! If sometime you’re nearby Llanes I strongly suggest you taking a few classes.
