⭐ Rating: 4.3/5 Came in for their Thursday steak special and honestly, it’s one of the better-value steak deals you’ll find around Melbourne — 400g rump with chips, salad, and a drink for $29. Can’t complain about that. The rump steak itself was surprisingly tender and not overly fatty or grisly. It came out looking slightly more cooked than I’d usually prefer, but still had a nice balance of juiciness and texture — definitely recommend going for a medium rare if you like a softer bite. The mushroom sauce was the standout: thick, creamy, and rich in flavour without being watery or overpowering — it tied everything together perfectly. The chips were excellent too — crisp, seasoned with chicken salt, and had that proper pub-style crunch. The slaw on the side was also a pleasant touch; fresh, lightly dressed, and a good counterbalance to the heaviness of the steak and fries. Only thing I’d probably skip next time are the carrots, which didn’t really add much to the plate. Overall, for the price and what you get, this steak deal is hard to beat — generous portion, solid execution, and a proper pub classic done right.
Beer is soo fresh, I enjoyed those beers on happy hours. Asahi was not available, a bit disappointing. Happy hour is from 4-6pm. Steak was basic with small portion of chips. Will I come back? Yes for the freshest beer on tap.
It used to be quite a nice place, but their service has gone downhill. They changed their happy hour prices without informing customers and continue to use the old menu, which is misleading. I ordered drinks that were no longer part of the happy hour, and the female staff member who served me didn’t bother to give me a heads-up. To make matters worse, we were asked to leave before the third quarter of the AFL game had even finished—even though they advertise “Footy Night.” What’s the point of going there to watch the game if you’re forced to leave before it ends? Never again.
My dad and I took part in the brewery tour and had an amazing time. Our guide Steve — a very kind and friendly gentleman — made the hour fly by, answering all our questions with patience and good humour. After the tour, we stayed for a meal: the food was delicious, and we took advantage of the cheeseburger special. My dad ordered the fried jalapeños with cheese — a little too oily, but still absolutely delicious. We left feeling completely satisfied!
The beer was incredibly fresh, and I really enjoyed the happy hour deals. A little disappointed that Asahi wasn’t available, but the 4–6 pm happy hour is a great time to go. The steak was fairly basic with a small portion of chips, but I’d definitely return for the freshest beer on tap!
Thursday Steak night at Carlton Brewhouse 🍻 For $18 you get steak, gravy, fries and a salad. Onion rings were an extra $3. There was also a surf and turf option (prawns) for $8 but they were sold out. Good value for the amount. Taste wise the steak was tougher than I would prefer. Classic pub grub. ♥♥♥¾♡ Overall 3.7/5 Would get again without the onion rings only because 3-4pcs didn’t seem worth it. Service: Lovely staff. We were given a few drink vouchers because of a delay but honestly it wasn’t long at all. Venue: Large open space. Plenty of seating. It was surprisingly quiet. Lots of tvs to watch footy if you’re into it. Nintendo switch on the side.
Came in for the brewery tour, and honestly, it was great—TJ (our guide) was full of energy, super friendly, and really knew his stuff. But once the tour ended, things kind of fell flat. The pub was completely quiet, zero atmosphere, and the bar service (especially from one of the female staff) just wasn’t on TJ’s level. I’d definitely come back for the tour again, but I probably wouldn’t hang around afterward unless the bar staff steps up.
Nice beer garden atmosphere, decent food/good value, wide arrange of tap beers. The vege burger could use some love/better sauce/a whole halloumi patty. I liked the classic parma a lot tho. Good tomato sauce and the crumb was crispy. The gravy in the brewhouse loaded chips was really nice and the portion very large for a 'snack'. We loved the good taste in music and the range of vb merch. Staff was friendly.

This place is very close to the city, yet the buildings from the 1800s are so well preserved. The surrounding architecture and nature are absolutely beautiful. It felt like a scene from a movie or a painting — I was completely satisfied with the atmosphere.
I’ve photographed many weddings at Abbotsford Convent and it’s such an iconic Melbourne venue. The mix of historic architecture and lush gardens create endless photo opportunities. I love wandering the grounds with my couples and never having to go too far to find beautiful spots. The reception space is such a great blank canvas to make your own. Always love working here!
As a photography enthusiast, Abbotsford Convent is an absolute dream location! The grounds are stunning, with a mix of beautiful gardens, historical buildings, and incredible textures that make for endless creative opportunities. The atmosphere is so peaceful and inspiring. A special shout-out to the bakery - the ham, cheese, and tomato croissant was, without a doubt, the best I've ever had!
Went to Abbotsford Convent recently for a walk in the afternoon and had a fantastic time! If you enjoy art, gardens, good food and just wandering, this place ticks a lot of boxes. The buildings are beautiful with its old convent architecture, courtyards, heritage mix. There are art studios, galleries, creative workshops going on, so there’s always something interesting to see. You don't have to participate, but you can walk along, take a peek and feel inspired by the artistry. The grounds are big enough that it never feels too crowded. The gardens, lawns, shady trees are great for sitting with a book, having a picnic, or meeting a friend for coffee. The cafe and bakery near the entrance are solid. Good treats with nice settings. Around the back of the property there's a nice walking path where you can see some animals like ponies and sheep, which are a favourite with the kids. Parking can be a bit tricky, so plan a bit ahead of time. And wear comfy shoes, because there’s quite a bit of walking if you want to explore all the corners. Overall, it’s one of my favourite inner‑Melbourne spots to relax, soak up some art, and enjoy a nice food & nature combo. Would go back easily.
Nice place for spending a cultural day, wandering around the many buildings and taking a scroll in the heritage garden near by. I was there during the Easter holiday so I reckon that most of the places were closed for that reason. Recommended!
Abbotsford Convent is a hidden gem just minutes from the city. Stunning heritage buildings, beautiful gardens, riverside walks, and a vibrant mix of art, food, and community events make it the perfect spot to explore or unwind. A must-visit Melbourne destination!
I recently had the pleasure of conducting a wedding at the Abbotsford Convent in Collingwood, and it was absolutely beautiful. The chapel is stunning — elegant, peaceful, and with exceptional acoustics that made the ceremony feel so special. The staff were wonderfully helpful and accommodating, ensuring everything ran smoothly. The grounds are also breathtaking, offering so many picturesque spots for photos and quiet reflection. A truly memorable venue for any wedding or special occasion!
I must confess I arrived with no particular expectations — I was merely collecting produce from one of the importers and wandered in out of curiosity. Alas, the scene proved rather sparse. With crepes as the sole culinary offering on a decidedly warm afternoon, one found oneself at something of a loss. The entry fee, followed by parking charges (the beneficiary of which remains a mystery), meant one felt lighter in the wallet before having experienced anything at all. A complimentary iced refreshment or even a small discount on one’s first purchase would have gone a long way toward softening the blow. French markets in France, of course, are splendid affairs — lively, abundant, and effortlessly charming. This, by contrast, felt more like a well-intentioned expatriate gathering, albeit with a somewhat mismatched assortment of offerings. I believe there was live music scheduled, though at 2pm the musicians appeared to be observing a contemplative silence. In all, an outing that promised more than it delivered.

I took part in a Twilight guided kayak tour of Melbourne’s Yarra River with this company … and it was one of the highlights of my time in Melbourne. I can’t recommend it highly enough. The guides were knowledgeable and kind and gave us a fantastic briefing before we set off. The city lights on the water were magical. Thanks for a fantastic tour.
I bought a day trip for a birthday present. The leaders we absolutely fabulous in making the day accessible and fun for all. Extremely well organised, teaching and learning was clear and fun. thank you so much!! Highly recommend!
I joined the Phillip Island kayak tour on Saturday and it was MAGICAL! We had ripper sunny weather and just a gentle touch of swell. Saw lots of birds and two seals. Rohan and Adam did an excellent job teaching the group kayak skills and keeping us all happy and safe, you couldn't find better tour guides. Easy booking process, good quality equipment, and a focus on participants' safety. Friendly service and lots of fun!
We had our first Sea Kayaking experience on Sunday 2 March, it was so much fun. The guides were great, Rohan and RJ checked in with us all every step of the way. On the way back the wind got up a little more than expected so we did actual sea kayaking which was so much fun. Lunch was perfect, a picnic on the beach, all our gear was well maintained and instructions very clear.
Want to see Melbourne from a completely different experience? I recommend you the Sea Kayak Sunset during sunset. It was a fun, unforgettable, and exciting adventure in the middle of the city. We were lucky to have a cool guide (Dane) that shared his knowledge about the city and maybe the experience super easy. 100% recommended!
This experience was amazing; Exceeded every expectation. We had 6 people go, the youngest being 13. The safety talk and instructions at the beginning meant we all new what to do and had a great time. We went in the evening session and the views were breathtaking. We will be doing this again next time we’re in Melbourne.
Rohan and team are very professional at kayaking and with 15 mins of instructions we were able to do the entire tour with ease. Till now you have seen sunset from sides of Southbank and south wharf, but in this kayak you’ll witness it from the river. It’s a beautiful scene. You’ll see the best sunset. You must be strong enough to row the kayak for 2 hours because it does take some strength. Do some arm exercises before you go for kayaking For this tour: Carry extra pair of clothes because you’ll get wet 100% or maybe wear snow pants so that you don’t feel cold when your denim gets wet - trust me it’ll happen the minute you’re in water. Carry some small packets of protein bars or snacks. Half way through the tour some chocolates and hot chocolate is served as well. The activity could get affected by rise in water level in Yarra river or bad weather. Organisers will let you know well in advance if they’re going ahead with the schedule or not.
Booked the Melbourne City Twilight Tour with my friends and it was an amazing experience!! Our guides Alex and Tasman were so friendly and gave us a great tour as well. Highly recommend! Thanks for having us :)

Brewery has a great beer, but the real highlight is their all-you-can-eat pizza on Thursdays. The pizzas are delicious, and the crust is simply amazing! A must-try for pizza lovers!
This place is cool. The service is excellent, and I need to make a call out to Renee for her great customer service. I tried a Splice of Heaven - Pine Lime IPA which was absolutely delicious. The Tropical Crush alcoholic seltzer was a mango tasting drink, and soo yummy. My other favorite drink was a Dream Cake Coconut Cake Imperial Dark Ale. This ale was absolutely moorish, just perfect. It was like drinking a dark chocolate cake, its was just perfect. We also shared some pizzas. A vegetarian and another meat pizza which was good but the vegetarian one was a winner! Overall it was a great experience and it won't be 4 years before I go back next time haha. My partner and I shared a few drinks. Previous review - January 2016 This place is good fun. A little microbrewery in the industrial area of Richmond/Abbotsford. Interesting beers like watermelon beer, which tastes surprisingly good. It's a cool little place, perfect for a craft beer and they have a pizza van next door.
Container Solutions had provided transport services to Moon Dog Brewery. Easy to deal with, prompt payer. thank you fro your business.
Great crafted beer selection and interesting setup hipster bar with an awesome vibe and good music. Food options are limited to pizza which is a bit disappointing. The pizza is fabulous but a bit pricy. They have Tuesday pizza nights which you can get 10 bucks pizza.
Fun spot with a cool bit of decor and plenty of mismatched but comfortable lounges and chairs along the place. The beers are great and the seltzers are varied - lots of beverages for all of the crew to check out. Pool table is a nice addition
2024: Great for pres or just a night of frothies. Laid back and super casual, love the 90's throwback. The Margherita Simpson and Leonardo DiCapricciosa are punny as hell.
Fantastic service, food, atmosphere & space! Came here for the Second Chance Animal Rescue event today with two of my dogs. It was fantastic & great to see Moondog get behind such a great cause. Pizzas were great, especially the salami one (pictured). Only recommendation would be for some fresh citrus slices to go with the selzters 👌🏼
Had a chilled Saturday there. Good choice of beer. The free pop corn is a bit salty, but it's free - First World issues. Decent choice of beer, and decent pizzas provided externally by a pizza truck.

Good drinks, good vibe, there’s DJ on the weekend nights. Small and cozy, they are one of a few spots that make the North Richmond Area feel alive.
This bar is conveniently located on Victoria Street, close to everywhere including public transport (train station nearby & tram stop). The vibe is good, & the ambience is excellent. Staff are friendly & helpful too. Always enjoy sitting in here just for some beers whenever I’m nearby.
Nice spot! When DJs are on its a fab vibe and great for a dance on the right night. Wine not great.. Excellent vibe, but close earlier than on Google on a Thursday, they closed at 11. Have been there before on other nights and they were open later though!
They have a great setup where the front section has big windows which open fully and it's all bright breezy and great for people watching, and then through a very nice glass door/wall the back is dark and has sexy red lighting and cool booths etc. Good selection of beers and friendly staff too. Happy hour cocktails and 8 dollar beers are a win.
Good vibes at midnight, not packed but good music. Guinness to be had, yarns to be spun. Huge crew from a wedding, so formal dress code all round! Will come back….maybe…. We’re definitely the hottest here!
3.7. Yep, it is a quirky bar on Victoria St as an earlier reviewer said. I like it. Many would like it. It has a good feel. The drink selection worked today. Good variety helps. Ardbeg beat the other smoky peaty available monsters on this occasion. I really need to do the Islay tourism trail one day. Good music on here. Some mighty fine stuff actually. Service was nice. Good place.
Fact this place only has 4.5 to me proves people have poor judgment, this place deserves a 6. The cocktails are excellent, the happy hour is unbeatable, the food is next level (even if it's only snack food), and all the wait staff are professional & lovely & deserve a raise. Cheval cocktail is to die for good. For any other Cali-spoiled sods trying to find a good margarita in Oz the margarita at the Vic bar is really very good. The atmosphere is cozy, perfect lighting. This place is truly something special!
Absolutely the place to be! The Vic Bar is always a vibe and never disappoints. The staff are professional but know how to have fun. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough!!!

Great for a quick play in the park. Also a great spot for parties, though important to consider lack of toilet facilities. Relatively easy to get parking around 9am on a Saturday
Newly updated playground is great. Water taps, and seating for eating. No public toilet, however, library nearby is a good option. Nice open green space for kicking a ball. Close to station and Hoddle street for transport access.
Great little place for your dogs and kids, a nice playground for the kids and a wide open space for the dogs to run and play. With an added half court basketball and netball court there is something for everyone here.
Nice area. Equipment is not well maintained. Could use a public toilet on premises.
The play equipment is great. Parking is easy. It's even near a train station. My 2yo grandson had a great time here
One of the best park in this pocket of abbotsford. Come here during evening if you love dogs, lots of amazing dogs playing around. Loved it!
Great Neely updated park for the kids, safe equipment, a quarter basketball court with hoop and netball ring as well as plenty of grass. There's also a dedicated off the leash area for dogs. The maternal child health centre also has a sand pit with toys for this kids and a playground for the really little ones
I really liked this park, good place to take your dogs. Right near the train station as well

A huge range of professional art services are offered by Chapman & Bailey. We are so lucky to have them in Melbourne. Beautiful archival framing. Museum quality standards. Plus they offer a great art installation service and can fabricate plinths and light boxes for your exhibition needs. Their custom bespoke furniture uses traditional joins that will last a lifetime. Chapman & Bailey's Art Shop down the road at 420 Johnston St has a fantastic range of special high quality art materials, and offers and a painting restoration/stretching service and photographic dry mounting. All the staff are happy to have a chat and give professional guidance. No job seems too big or too small.
Chapman & Bailey’s advice as to how to hang and place my 5 commissioned paintings in a house in St.Kilda was pure gold. I didn’t need to direct these clever people because their creative minds in this area are impeccable. With an entrance wall and a staircase as the destination of the 5 paintings, they turned something that I thought was going to be quite tricky into sweet simplicity. Very impressive and the commissioners love the fact that the 5 are all visible from their living room, even the one on the top of the stairs. Thank you guys. Col
We dropped off a drawing in Dec to be mounted onto core stock and were notified that it would be done by the end of Jan/first week of Feb due to there being a wait list and the Christmas holidays. I eventually decided to phone up in March to check on progress and was told that it hadn’t been started yet but would be completed in a week. I called a second time just over a week later and it still hadn’t been started. When it was finally completed and delivered I immediately noticed that the drawing had not been adequately adhered to the core stock along two of the edges and the border bowed in these areas noticeably. The paper also does not sit flat on the core stock. Overall I haven’t been impressed with the service and don’t feel confident in using C&B again, especially after they never responded to us to resolve our complaint.
I've been going to these guys in their last and present location for 8 years. They have the best quality materials and the best, most pleasant and most helpful staff of any art store in Melbourne. Highly recommended!!
This company provides the ultimate framing for quality works. Often, the framing is an art piece in its own right. Chapman & Bailey may be a little more expensive, but if you have good art and value it, this is the place to go for your framing needs!
I bought some art supplies here for a school project. It wasn't a big purchase so I was really impressed with the level of attention and expertise. Using professional products combined with professional advice made a big difference. Based on this level of customer care, highly recommended.

Great art work in a really professional gallery space. If you only have time for one gallery in Collingwood /Fitzroy area, this is probably it. If you have time for more, the BSG and Off The Curb galleries are also very worth while
Great opening night for a diverse group of Artists Wednesday night last. Particularly well attended by friends and family so crowded and colourful added to the ambience. Curated strategically so as to enhance each artists body of work with respect and individuality. Payment for wine seemed incongruent as did the controlled oversight of cheese and bikkies. Goes without saying parking is a nightmare.
Impressive galleries, featuring a variety of carefully curated artwork of wonderful variety, ranging from classical to edgy. Each time I visit I learn about a new technique!
David McLeod's landscapes and seascapes were painted in vibrant colours that captured the essence of each location.
Great space, lots of little nooks with nice surprises. Change their pieces very often, so always something new to see. Lovely people too.
Lovely and relaxed vibe and friendly staff and patrons add to the experience of indulging in the viewing works of fresh, creative artistic expression.
A good space - for the interior designers. Mediocre artwork - nothing outstanding, nothing meaningful. Greys and blacks must be the trend in designer galleries for the middle classes.
Great range of spaces and a variety of work. Something for everyone!

I always buy my vinyl here and they never disappoint! Second hand records are always reasonably priced, and the description of quality is always spot on. Even their new vinyl has the best prices I’ve seen on the market. My orders are well packaged and arrive so quickly. This is my all time favourite vinyl record store!!
First purchase with your company and am so incredibly impressed! I ordered the Miseducation of Lauren Hill vinyl for a great price 2 days ago (after hours). The following morning, a shipment label was created and I just received it today. Less than 2 days later here in Melbourne. The packaging is immaculate, with a "Thank you" note inside the plastic sleeve (yes, you totally get it!!) provided with this record, which arrived shrink wrapped. You totally understand that buying a vinyl is a tactile experience. I am getting back into vinyls (being an 80s kid) and yours is the first in my new collection. I am so excited to try this, my first vinyl in years. Thank you SO MUCH!!! I will definitely be recommending your store, and hopefully coming in one day for the full buying experience I had back in the day when Central Station was around.
I love this place, Extremely welcoming and amazing customer service! Staff are very attentive! You could stay in this place for hours and not get bored! Shoutout to Declan He is the best! Only place I buy vinyl's from! Great prices and a huge range! It is a perfect place for anyone's music taste!
I just received my vinyl from Dutch Vinyl today. It was well packed and delivered in perfect condition and on time. I’m so impressed with the range of jazz, soul and funk at Dutch Vinyl…they know their music and are very reasonably priced for new and second hand vinyl.
Today I bought a copy of Revolver by The Beatles from Dutch Vinyl and Roman the great guy working behind the cash register was willing to let me have it for $60 rather than the original price of $65, I just wanted to thank him for this and all the Dutch Vinyl staff members for making this my favourite record shop and the most enjoyable experience.
Huge range of stock and always friendly and helpful staff. Stock is always updating, which is great.Their used vinyl pricing is definitely on the higher end on occasions in my opinion, but that's probably the cost of doing bricks and mortar business.
Very Happy with my online Vinyl purchase, 2nd hand album, hard to find. Was a good price and sent to me very well packaged with speedy delivery. Wouldn't hesitate buying from these guys again 👍🤩
I love this store...has a fantastic range ..bought a heap of Elton John vinyl at very good prices and all play exceptionly well. Goods always posted next business day. 10 out of 10!!!

Tried axe throwing for the first time, and after reading the reviews, I thought, why not—especially as a birthday treat (18 Jan 2025) The customer service was exceptional, and the safety talk and demonstration provided by the staff member were incredibly helpful. You could tell he genuinely enjoyed what they did. I loved the laid-back vibe, where you could go at your own pace, have fun, and enjoy some great tunes in the background. The games they recommended were a blast! The venue had a massive layout, was very welcoming, and I would definitely recommend this experience for an event to my family and friends.
MANIAX Axe Throwing Walked in a bloke… walked out a warrior. MANIAX is pure testosterone therapy—just you, a sharp axe, and a big chunk of timber begging for a beating. The instructors? Absolute weapons. They teach you how to throw like a Norse god and cheer you on like you're in the finals of some underground lumberjack league. Great vibes, ice-cold drinks, and the kind of primal satisfaction you can’t get from yoga. 10/10 would axe again.
It’s so much fun, we did the couples date. Unlimited axe throwing for about an hour and then a few drinks at the end. The atmosphere is great too.
Had a great time with Maniax Abbotsford. It was nice and quiet so we technically had the whole place to ourselves ;) Miles was sociable and great at communicating tips and rules as we went along. the facilities were clean including the toilet and parking on the street was available just outside. If you ever wanted to try axe throwing this is the location to try especially during the weekday (if you can manage).
Fun Fun Fun... for something different for pre-teen and teenagers and adults! (Age 11+) Friendly, experienced staff. Clean venue. Quick and easy sign up and safety demo. No pressure and gave 1 on 1 tips to improve your throw accuracy. Great experience. Will definitely be going back.
10 of us came for my daughters 21st 8 threw axes. We had a great hour and the host was brilliant and patient with us all teaching to throw. Booking process considering we had a voucher and changed times and number of people several times was impeccable. Thanks for a great afternoon
Out of the ordinary, awesome and super fun! Came here for a date with my wife and what a blast of a time we had. Really fun learning how to throw an axe and quite tiring at the end but quite satisfying. The staff were very friendly and professional and dam they make it look easy to throw an axe. Would definitely come back to try in a bigger group.
This was a super experience! The gentleman (Jay/Jed?) was super friendly and helpful and took his time to check in and correct peoples throwing techniques. The place itself has a great feel and vibe to it! I attended a session on a late Sunday afternoon which was quieter, and worked out well. You do tend to get a litttttle over it about 45 minutes in (and your arm starts to feel it). Would be great if there was a moving target to change things up. I also feel it’s priced okay for the length provided.

I have been receiving treatments from Mark and Masa since they opened the clinic in Abbotsford. Mark is a very gentle, thoughtful and caring acupuncturist. His herbal formulas are tailored to my needs. Masa is intuitive and precise in his Shiatsu treatment. His focus and pressure are always spot on.
I have seen many acupuncturists in the past, but I have to say Mark is by far the most gentle and intuitive! What he does is very subtle, but strong in action, his actions are powerful, so if you are sensitive be sure to ask him to keep it simple for you! Cannot recommend highly enough!
I can not recommend either practitioner enough, Root & Branch offer personal and exceptional service. I’m very lucky to have found Masa Kodama, he is a shiatsu master. Dr. Mark Davis is a generous and caring therapist. I am better for their service.
It was suggested I have acupuncture for menopause symptoms. I was sceptical but after just 3 sessions of acupuncture and herbs for 4 weeks I cant believe how good I feel. Amazed! Decided to then have a massage by Masa and he is great. Thanks guys I'll be back!
I get regular treatments with Mark, Acupuncture keeps me on top of my game and Mark's expertise in Chinese Medicine and acupuncture gives me great results. I highly recommend Mark.
Serious problems with plantar fasciitis disappeared after a couple of visits. Even though it will never be completely healed it is so much better.
Have had several sessions with Mark and would definitely recommend for spine injuries.

Small space that packs a punch. Really enjoy this sort of art space. The current exhibition was wonderful and interactive!
