This place is cool. The service is excellent, and I need to make a call out to Renee for her great customer service. I tried a Splice of Heaven - Pine Lime IPA which was absolutely delicious. The Tropical Crush alcoholic seltzer was a mango tasting drink, and soo yummy. My other favorite drink was a Dream Cake Coconut Cake Imperial Dark Ale. This ale was absolutely moorish, just perfect. It was like drinking a dark chocolate cake, its was just perfect. We also shared some pizzas. A vegetarian and another meat pizza which was good but the vegetarian one was a winner! Overall it was a great experience and it won't be 4 years before I go back next time haha. My partner and I shared a few drinks. Previous review - January 2016 This place is good fun. A little microbrewery in the industrial area of Richmond/Abbotsford. Interesting beers like watermelon beer, which tastes surprisingly good. It's a cool little place, perfect for a craft beer and they have a pizza van next door.

Great crafted beer selection and interesting setup hipster bar with an awesome vibe and good music. Food options are limited to pizza which is a bit disappointing. The pizza is fabulous but a bit pricy. They have Tuesday pizza nights which you can get 10 bucks pizza.

Fun spot with a cool bit of decor and plenty of mismatched but comfortable lounges and chairs along the place. The beers are great and the seltzers are varied - lots of beverages for all of the crew to check out. Pool table is a nice addition

Fantastic service, food, atmosphere & space! Came here for the Second Chance Animal Rescue event today with two of my dogs. It was fantastic & great to see Moondog get behind such a great cause. Pizzas were great, especially the salami one (pictured). Only recommendation would be for some fresh citrus slices to go with the selzters 👌🏼

Had a chilled Saturday there. Good choice of beer. The free pop corn is a bit salty, but it's free - First World issues. Decent choice of beer, and decent pizzas provided externally by a pizza truck.

I just want to share my recent experience — I was at the bar yesterday from about 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. When I arrived, the downstairs hostess was very rude and extremely cold. It was really disappointing, especially as it was my first time visiting. But thankfully, I met Nelson — yes, N-E-L-S-O-N — at the bar upstairs. He completely changed my night! He’s full of humor, warm, and genuinely caring. I didn’t expect him to do anything special, but when I mentioned what happened with the rude hostess, he felt very sorry and surprised me with something extra special. Nelson is a fantastic, funny Italian guy who knows how to turn things around and make guests feel welcome and valued. Because of him, I left happy and will definitely come back again — all thanks to Nelson’s amazing service and great sense of humor.

I absolutely loved Lui Bar! The place has such a beautiful atmosphere and the view is just stunning. The food and cocktails were amazing, but what made the experience truly special was the staff. Drinks were decent and the view was just okay. Nothing to rave about. But the overall experience was incredibly disappointing. I booked a table for 8 for my birthday. During the booking process, they asked if it was a special occasion — I clearly marked it as a birthday. We brought a cake, only to be told at the entrance that cakes aren’t allowed inside, and we couldn’t even take it out once brought in. Ridiculous and made no sense. There was absolutely no mention of this restriction during booking — so what’s the point of asking if it’s a special occasion? Despite being the largest group in the venue that night, we received zero table service. The bar has all these “high-class private” rules; you can’t even go down or up in the lift without security assistance because there are no accessible buttons. One of our friends couldn’t get back into the building after moving his car because security wasn’t there. Ended up leaving entirely. The vibe? Just okay. I’ve been to many beautiful bars with better views, friendlier staff, and a much more relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. We spent over $500 and left frustrated and disappointed. Not sure why people recommend this place. I definitely won’t be coming back. 👎

Reserved the table through OpenTable App and parked the car at Rialto Parking costed evening 15$ flat rate from enter after 4pm Monday-Friday and walked upto form the elevator to the bar. Design had changed now and the seating are more comfortable. We were on a special occasion and were seated on the high chairs and were soon maybe in 10m were shifted to the window side with the view of Melbourne Yarra River. Ordered Australian made crisps and Fried chicken (H) good portion. A ketchup dip should had been added on the side. Ordered Mocktails Shiro (a mango and ginger beer ( H) and Green bamboo pineapple coconut honey lime made by bartender excellent joice by Lenny. From the both the drinks we loved the Green bamboo but the size of the mocktail had a special kind of a glass that costed us 20$ for each mocktails. Ambiance and everything was just attention to detail and loved the micktails. Tip: Luck and have Have LSH AUTO APP discounts 20% on the invoice. Also do reservations on the app

The food was divine, the drinks dangerously smooth - every bite and sip a prelude to desire. If you’re someone who romanticises life, this is pure indulgence: an opulent, 360-degree love affair with Melbourne. Every glittering light, every lingering note, every sigh of the city wrapped itself around me until I was completely consumed. I didn’t just see the view…. I fell in love with all of it.

Fantastic chill pub lunch in a quiet street near brunswick Street. Both the steak and schnitzel were excellent. Great quality and tender. Friendly staff. A banging menu pub clearly executed by a skilled chef. The bean side and chips was super tasty too. Melbourne at its best. Will be back for sure.

The Marquis of Lorne has a great atmosphere – relaxed, a bit quirky, and full of character. It’s the kind of pub where you can enjoy a good pint and people-watching while soaking up the Fitzroy vibe. The food is excellent, definitely a step above standard pub fare. The rockling burger and schnitzel really stand out, and the menu has plenty of interesting options with fresh sides to match. A cool spot with good energy, tasty food, and a crowd that keeps things lively.

The chicken schnitzel was the most perfectly cooked, juicy, crispy and flavourul schnitzel I’ve ever had. the ambiance of the place was very warm and cozy from the lighting to the plates which gave grandma’s house vibe

I paid $20 for 2 small lamb kofters, which were very undercooked. It's a small area inside this pub and there was 5 medium sized dogs in here. One of them was sniffing people's bottoms and crotches. There wasn't much opportunity for conversation either, because another dog was constantly barking, which was annoyingly loud. If this wasn't bad enough, a brief fight broke out between two of the dogs. I'm a dog person, but this was ridiculous. It really ruined any ambiance / dining experience. I definitely won't be back there.

Awesome food, the kangaroo steak is fantastic and their Sunday roast never disappoints. Do keep in mind it’s a very popular Fitzroy pub so 90% of the time it’s painfully loud but it’s so worth putting up with.

Beer is soo fresh, I enjoyed those beers on happy hours. Asahi was not available, a bit disappointing. Happy hour is from 4-6pm. Steak was basic with small portion of chips. Will I come back? Yes for the freshest beer on tap.

It used to be quite a nice place, but their service has gone downhill. They changed their happy hour prices without informing customers and continue to use the old menu, which is misleading. I ordered drinks that were no longer part of the happy hour, and the female staff member who served me didn’t bother to give me a heads-up. To make matters worse, we were asked to leave before the third quarter of the AFL game had even finished—even though they advertise “Footy Night.” What’s the point of going there to watch the game if you’re forced to leave before it ends? Never again.

My dad and I took part in the brewery tour and had an amazing time. Our guide Steve — a very kind and friendly gentleman — made the hour fly by, answering all our questions with patience and good humour. After the tour, we stayed for a meal: the food was delicious, and we took advantage of the cheeseburger special. My dad ordered the fried jalapeños with cheese — a little too oily, but still absolutely delicious. We left feeling completely satisfied!

The beer was incredibly fresh, and I really enjoyed the happy hour deals. A little disappointed that Asahi wasn’t available, but the 4–6 pm happy hour is a great time to go. The steak was fairly basic with a small portion of chips, but I’d definitely return for the freshest beer on tap!

Thursday Steak night at Carlton Brewhouse 🍻 For $18 you get steak, gravy, fries and a salad. Onion rings were an extra $3. There was also a surf and turf option (prawns) for $8 but they were sold out. Good value for the amount. Taste wise the steak was tougher than I would prefer. Classic pub grub. ♥♥♥¾♡ Overall 3.7/5 Would get again without the onion rings only because 3-4pcs didn’t seem worth it. Service: Lovely staff. We were given a few drink vouchers because of a delay but honestly it wasn’t long at all. Venue: Large open space. Plenty of seating. It was surprisingly quiet. Lots of tvs to watch footy if you’re into it. Nintendo switch on the side.

Came in for the brewery tour, and honestly, it was great—TJ (our guide) was full of energy, super friendly, and really knew his stuff. But once the tour ended, things kind of fell flat. The pub was completely quiet, zero atmosphere, and the bar service (especially from one of the female staff) just wasn’t on TJ’s level. I’d definitely come back for the tour again, but I probably wouldn’t hang around afterward unless the bar staff steps up.

Nice beer garden atmosphere, decent food/good value, wide arrange of tap beers. The vege burger could use some love/better sauce/a whole halloumi patty. I liked the classic parma a lot tho. Good tomato sauce and the crumb was crispy. The gravy in the brewhouse loaded chips was really nice and the portion very large for a 'snack'. We loved the good taste in music and the range of vb merch. Staff was friendly.

I came here twice. First round, with chef's selection which did not leave strong impression. Second round, selected food from the menu and it was so delicious! Recommend to order food separately and not go through chef's selection.

Outstanding dining experience at Bomba Tapas Bar & Rooftop! The service was friendly, attentive, and perfectly paced. We loved every dish — especially the slow-cooked lamb shoulder with anchovy and rosemary, crispy roasted potatoes with aioli, and chargrilled broccolini with romesco. Each plate was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. The team recommended a fantastic local red wine, PaPa, which paired perfectly with the meal. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and genuinely warm hospitality — Bomba is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Spanish tapas done exceptionally well.

Good delicious Spanish food. Worth the trip. Very convenient if you are attending a show etc nearby. Need to book to ensure you have a table. Flavors are well balanced n subtle use of herbs n spices. Service was impeccable n this is one of the few restaurants that change the plates after the tapas n montaditos. And the olive oil served for the bread was really high quality

The servers are v helpful in translating the dishes and the quantities for you. There were limited vegetarian options. I ordered the corn and a sweet potato dish and they both turned out great.

Lovely rooftop bar! The highlight was that it wasn’t busy at all, FINALLY a place not overcrowded on a Friday evening! The service was amazing too. Thanks to the waiter who recommended me a great local wine.

Everything about this place was just perfect! Me and my friends dined in on a Sunday night, the restaurant itself is super cosy and made us feel comfy and welcomed. Food, 10 out of 10, we had to gasp on every single dish! Also our server Em was THE SUPERSTAR!! I recently visited The Napier Hotel for the first time, and I'm already a huge fan. 🥰🥳🤩 The moment you step inside, it feels like a classic, cozy Irish/English pub—a complete contrast to the outside. ☘️🍻😊 What I loved most is that it's a genuine pub without any of the gambling machines you find elsewhere. It's all about good company, great food, and a relaxed atmosphere. 😌👍💯 The fireplace is a perfect touch, making it incredibly inviting. 🔥🏡😊 ​As for the food, it was outstanding and the portions are worth every penny. 💰💲😋 I ordered the "Bogan burger🍔," (The name caught my eyes 🤓, and the dish itself was an absolute blast to eat). The portion was absolutely massive—the biggest main course I've had in Australia. 🇦🇺🤤💯 It was delicious and worth every dollar. We were told we simply had to try the kangaroo here, and they weren't wrong! The kangaroo was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. The portions were generous, and the staff provided excellent service. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food.

Such a great pub in the backstreets of Fitzroy. They have Guinness on tap and plenty of other beers (including the blueberry pot I had) with an outdoor area. Food is supposed to be pretty good so will have to try it next time.

Amazing pub restaurant in Fitzroy. The food was excellent. The best Kangaroo steaks in Victoria was the recommendation from a friend and they were right! All the food ordered was excellent. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant. It is very dark, but worth it.

There are many great gastro pubs in Melbourne and then there is the Napier. The absolute benchmark for food served in a great pub. Their standard menu has great burgers and parmas, then the extensive specials board really shows how talented the kitchen staff are. Super friendly staff at the front, make the experience welcoming everytime. If you appreciate impressive food in a relaxed environment, where everyone is welcome, the Napier is the must go food experience. July 2023 update: I have been going here for 20 years, however the secret is now out. Napier is deservedly super busy and still the absolute benchmark of gastro pubs. April 2024-Still the absolute benchmark, just go. 2025-Still simply the very best gastro food pub you will experience. The kangaroo fillet is exceptional and as always, their specials board are next level. If you appreciate amazing food, start here.

Had a really nice time coming here. I’ve never been to a pub in Melbourne like it, the dim, cozy interior being the way it is. The pork knuckle was great, but the portion size was underwhelming. That was my only criticism there. The snapper special was also beautiful. Perfectly cooked fish. The kangaroo was a massive portion size, so it’s definitely value for money. It was dry in parts, but the meat is not super even so I imagine it is hard to cook evenly. The bernaise sauce was probably the best I’ve had. I would like to know how the ophthalmologist sign got there.

11/7/25 - 3 stars A hole in the wall wine bar with a very cosy but lively atmosphere. Liked the wooden decor, open kitchen and big fireplace. Staff were helpful and wine selection was extensive to say the least. Unfortunately, service was quite slow and took about 2hrs to get everything sorted. It was quite busy though. At $95pp for 3 entrees, a shared steak and a dessert, it's not too bad, but, was a little underwhelming. Entrees were quite good in terms of flavour and presentation, but, fairly small. The premium shared steak was nice, but, not outstanding. The small skirt steak ($36) was also just okay.

The service was attentive, and I loved the ambiance. I also appreciated the affordable price for a glass of wine. Unfortunately, none of the dishes we tried stood out, especially the main courses. I had high expectations since this place seems quite popular, but with the same budget I’d probably choose somewhere else

Gorgeous place for dinner! Food was delicious and I really enjoyed the wine. The service was also amazing and so was the vibe. Couldn’t recommend more !! Wine: had 4 different glasses of white/orange and they were all really good Food -Oyster-fresh -Spelt fish tartlette- 6.8/10 interesting and different, great pastry, could do with a bit of zest and flavour lift with the filling but I would recommend it -bread- very generous portions, really enjoyed this 8/10 -fries- crisp and fresh, well seasoned with a great aioli dip, if you like chips I’d recommend to share for 3-4 min. -beetroot- 7.5/10, creamy, fresh, earthy, garlicky with 3 types of beetroots would recommend -octopus- 7.5/10 really fresh and flavoursome, would recommend, sauce to be moped up with bread! -salad-7/10 fresh leaves, generous portions, creamy and seedy but could’ve been a bit brighter/have more texture and flavour to it

I quite literally have nothing bad to say about this place. The food was excellent and not stingy with portion sizes unlike other wine rooms. My friend and I had such an amazing dinner with such great service by Tom! He was the sweetest and we enjoyed having an amazing chat with him as well! He really knows his wines as well..will definitely be back🤩

Our waiter was not helpful at all. We asked him to help explain the menu to us and he just pointed out obvious things like pc meaning piece and didn’t even talk about any of the dishes. He seemed disinterested and didn’t really want to explain any of the wines. Seemed like he was trying to rush us out as well as he brought over the eftpos machine when we hadn’t even asked for the bill. Overall not happy at all with his service. The food however was really good and I would definitely recommend ordering the sourdough, bluefin tuna, and spelt tarts.

Came here for a friend’s birthday and had a really nice time in the outdoor area out back. It was a busy day but I thought the staff were doing great at keeping up with demand. There was also a live DJ using actual records which was awesome! All I’ll say is that the bathroom was tiny (admittedly only went to the outdoor one) and is quite claustrophobic when it’s a busy weekend. Would come again!

Bit of a let down as this place used to be a favourite of ours! The man serving us was very lovely and knowledgeable and even gave us a drink on the house. However, the high seats are just not a vibe and I think the menu needsss work. The food was good but not the vibe - why have 10 pasta dishes when there is a busy Italian right across the road? My partner and I agreed that they should add some more pub classics to the menu (e.g burgers and parmas) and stay more true to the local vibe rather than the small overpriced meals.

I’ve been coming to this fine Restaurant/Bar since I started working at a local office near by and they never disappoint. Food is always cooked with lots of love and lots of flavour. The wait staff are incredibly friendly and very down to earth. It pains me to see this fine establishment empty around lunch time. So if you are in the area come in and get the best bite to eat in the Collingwood/Victoria Park area. Very LGBT friendly as well with is a definite plus in my book 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️. Wintertime so it wasn't too crowded and the perfect place for a good chat without it being overwhelmed with noise! Excellent place for a good gasbag amongst friends.

Staff great, but crowd here are very homophobic. we all had separate experiences where we felt unsafe due to comments made from patrons here. management here needs to seriously consider their policies towards safety here because I don't see myself ever come here again.

My friends and I were visiting Melbourne for the weekend from Canberra and this was a really nice spot to go to! We enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks and the service we received from staff was really good - they were incredibly polite and professional. I also liked the selection of mocktails, I had one and still felt like I was part of the experience as I couldn’t drink alcohol at the time. Will be back here next time we visit Melbourne!

There's a reason GoldiLocks was voted top ten rooftop bars in Melbourne. Now when you first arrive you may wonder where are you going , it's almost as if you're following the white rabbit in the Matrix but once you get to the rooftop bar you will be pleased. The staff were very friendly when we walked in and we sat anywhere as it wasn't busy. Our server was super knowledgeable and friendly and we got our drinks ordered easy. Once they came the drinks were pleasing to the eye as well as the stomach. My espresso martini was amazing. It tasted great and was delightfully strong. We ordered some food while we waited for the rest of our party and while the food took forever and this is due to them using a restaurant located in the building the comped it due to the wait which was great. That being said once it did come it was delicious. While we were all there having a good time they were hearing a pitch from a local company to use there moon shine drink. The salesman was happy to share samples with us and it was great. Now we were told they are going with it and hopefully that was because of us hahaha. Non the less try the apple moon shine. Overall a great experience from start to finish so get up there.

Unique Roof Top Bar with cosy Goldilocks 'Just right' atmosphere. Hard to find on busy Swanston Street, but worth persevering till you get to the roof. Take lift to 4th floor, and walk up the final flight of stairs to see the cityscape. 🌆 Constantly offering great Asian-Fusion treats, inventive cocktails and drink experiences. We tried the dumplings (Xiaolongbao) and wantons. The Espresso Martini rated high, as did the Maple Old Fashioned. We were tempted to try the 'Boozy Brunch' (all you can eat), however we ran out of time. They were setting up to promote 'Melbourne Moonshine' this month. We tried the 'Apple Pie Shine.' It's brilliant! Frequent events are staged to keep you entertained and returning. PS: They can even cater for your function (call Meagan).

I really like the vibe, it’s pretty chill and easy to get to. The cocktails are great too, I ordered a matcha cocktail (can’t remember the name) but it was sweet and easy to drink. I recently went alone on a Tuesday night and didn’t need a reservation since it wasn’t busy. I actually tried going with my friends (3 of us) on a Thursday once, but it was full so we couldn’t get a table. Funny thing is, a couple came in after us and got a table even though they hadn’t booked, and the staff didn’t mention there were only seats left for two. Overall though, it was a really good experience. They also have quite a variety of promotions.

After a long day at work you may need few sips of cocktails to unwind. Especially if the weather is smiling gently. This bar is located on top of the building where machi machi is located. However, the trip upstairs might not be the prettiest because the elevator reeked of smoke. However you will be greeted by nice staff and fresh air. I ordered their baby bear cocktail and took a sip of the papa bear from my mate and I am happy to announce that I enjoyed both. As you have already guessed it's not a cheap place so try and take advantage of happy hour betwee. 4-6pm.

Did the bottomless Brunch. The great views from the rooftop were a fantastic bonus to the whole experience. ​The service was absolutely outstanding and attentive. The staff were fantastic; they constantly pre-empted our drinks finishing and came straight over to take another order before we even had to signal them. We also really appreciated that they handled a last-minute cancellation smoothly and provided a full refund for our friend who was unable to attend. ​Regarding the food, the unlimited spring rolls, chips, and vegan calamari were all good and a very welcome feature. However, we found the main meal options to be a bit unrefined and underwhelming in both taste and appearance. ​Overall, this is an incredible spot for a seamless, well-run bottomless session with great service and snacks!

My first time there today taking my dog and we were both so welcomed! On a rainy day it was a lovely cosy place to meet friends for a delicious lunch. All of the staff are wonderful and make the place special. Great vibe it certainly attracts lovely people.

This place simply never fails to disappoint. Easily my favourite pub in Melbourne. Food is amazing and it is my favourite Parma in all of Melbourne. Celebrated my 21st birthday there last weekend and without even asking for it, I was provided with a private room and the staff were so kind and accommodating. The kitchen absolutely smashed 23 parmas and every one that came out was hot, juicy, crispy and perfect! Thank you for having us and being so friendly to us. Will definitely be coming back countless times in the future.

Food, drinks and service were great, unfortunately the crowd which happened to be footy fans were very loud. We left straight after eating as couldn't talk nor hear each other over the footy fans. We will go again just not on a footy night.

The Retreat never fails to deliver, their Sunday pork roast was superb and the four of us loved their food, happy to have brought 2 good friends visiting from Sydney and the Gold Coast and two of us who are local, thanks for providing us with a meal which reminds us of a family get together.

This is hands down the BEST pub in Australia!! Bar staff are awesome people and it doesn't matter if its your first time there or youre a local they make you wanna come back! theyre all down to earth and easy to get along with!! The locals always come with the good vibes!! when Martys playing on Fridays or Sundays it brings everyone together👌🏽 im moving back to Perth but ive loved the good times and memories made at this pub!! This little place serves an amazing food and the list of the wines is pretty great too. We went there on Saturday night and we shared few little things and 2 main in 4 people and it was more than enough. The service was very pleasant, our waitress recommended few things and give us amazing suggestions.

They change their menu weekly, so it’s unique every time you go, which makes it really fun to come back and try new dishes. The set menu is around $65pp, and we added the lamb side and some cocktails, which came to about $80–100pp. Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The entrées were definitely a highlight, and the flatbread with cheese and kumquats was incredible, perfectly balanced and flatbread served warm, yum! The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, and their staffs are lovely and attentive. Overall, a great dining experience that never feels repetitive.

outstanding food, really! i enjoyed the martini to start, followed by the bread + pate, the zucchini, and the pork with mustard sauce. really really impressive. the bread was to die for, so good that no words could be spoken after i had finished it all up. i needed a moment to collect myself. the pork was wonderful, warm, smokey, tender. the mustard sauce was powerful - star of the dish - but not overpowering. it was smooth and sexy. the highlight of my meal, actually, was the zucchini. it was served with honey and some sort of grain. really it was just so fresh, and cut through the heavier pork dish. i’m so glad i got it. wished i had space for dessert but i didn’t! will be back for it next time :)

Bar Liberty you have to be the coolest kid on the block. When my friend and I walked in we shared a look knowing straight away we had made a good decision to visit. The two servers were personable and made us feel apart of their evening. Good hospitality really makes a dining experience memorable, so thank you. I will be recommending this place to everyone I know. The food was seriously exciting. Everything was so well balanced and plated beautifully. 10/10. So simple but so much depth. How does one make flat bread taste so good. Ps. The potato dumplings changed my life.

my last meal in melbourne and my favorite from my visit to australia! the staff were great and i loved that they offered to do half orders on most things as i was dining alone. i won’t forget those turnips anytime soon - and who thought anyone would say that about turnips?!

Such a lovely spot to have our anniversary dinner, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the wine list was considered.

My favourite brewery. Every beer here is top notch. Especially the Cosmic Microwave and that Imperial Stout! Then the food was a nice surprise. Very, very good tacos. Came for the beers, stayed for the tacos... and more beers. Super friendly staff and a great venue too.

Bodriggy just launched a new brew, so went in for a quick visit. Bodriggy is a really roomy brewpub with comfortable seating areas. If your hungry a selection from their mex inspired menu is highly recommended all can be washed down with a great craft beers. 👍👍👍👍

There's a new beer 🍺 called Quench IPA made by Bodriggybrewing, which is really tasty. You could say its satisfaction served ice cold. Especially on a hot day with summer ☀️ coming up. I went to their venue in Abbotsford, and the food at Bodriggy is South American, and it's really impressive 😋 But for me, this Quench IPA beer is a cracker. It's definitely sessionable, and despite it being 6.2%, it's not a heavy beer. Cheers to that 🍻 #collab

Gosh‼️let's start with the fantastic beef taco's which were just brilliant on Taco Monday + a pint of Hazy Speccy Juice incredibly good icy cold craft beer it was the best I have had in a long time ❤️ Bodriggy is much bigger inside than it appears the decor and atmosphere is much better than most breweries. I was super impressed with Alex the young guy pouring my beer he was really friendly and easy to chat to. Deinitely its a 10/10 for the beer, the food and the great customer service. Will highly reccomend Bodriggy to my friends and family ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to Bodriggy for being such a wonderful venue to hold a wedding reception. I was the Wedding Coordinator for Scott and Bruce’s wedding, and the staff were wonderful, kind and incredibly supportive. The venue was the perfect size for a sit-down dinner of 114 guests, with plenty of room for a dance floor and a games room upstairs. A special thanks to Morgan for her support and proactiveness during set up, and to Jimmy for his kindness and attentiveness throughout the evening! 5 STARS

Bodriggy Brewing Co. is such a fun spot in Abbotsford 🍺 Big warehouse vibes, great atmosphere, and a huge range of fresh craft beers on tap. The food (tacos + wings!) pairs perfectly, and the staff are super friendly. Perfect place to chill with friends.

We made a last minute booking for four on a busy Saturday night. From the moment we walked in, the staff were absolutely exceptional, and attentive, even as the pub filled out. We were even able to snag a booth to have dinner with an extra two friends, following on from our original booking. The food was exceptional and again the table service we experienced was second to none- no ask was too much. Every order willed with enthusiasm and good humour. Every person in the group was excited to plan our next return. Highly recommend!

Dear potential customers, I'm looking through different venue options at the moment, and I've never in my life been more glad to read through negative reviews before making a commitment. Every single one I've read so far mentions service not being what was expected, surprise charges, and particularly, pushy management. There have been many cases of customers raising concerns about personal data collection, which I'm sure any sane person can agree, is a perfectly reasonable concern to have. However, the most consistent pattern I've noticed was is the responses to these aforementioned negative reviews. Regarding personal data concerns, I've seen at least a half dozen cases of this staff member referring to customers using their full names, sarcastically, and in a clearly desperate attempt to mock their reasonable frustration and use intimidation tactics. I've seen nothing that reasonably justifies the collection of mobile numbers and email addresses, and I would be loathe to find myself threatened by anyone for providing an honest review. Many of the responses read, in my opinion after dedicating the last hour to reading them, as only appropriate for a diary entry. The closest thing I can think of to compare it to is immature primary school bullying. I truly hope by now that this person (if it was only one) has since been removed, as I never wish to deal with a business that is satisfied with treating their customers in such a blatantly disgusting and inappropriate manner. The only reason I am taking the time to write this today, is that unless the business agrees that the behaviour displayed online is in fact an acceptable representation of the business, these replies would have been removed a long time ago. I urge you to read through negative reviews before you make a wrong decision.

Amazing view of the city and lovely rooftop outdoor seating area but bring a jacket if it's cold as the outdoor heaters are not very powerful. Food was great, can recommend the mushroom pizza, it was very tasty! Cocktails are well made and pretty but expensive and didn't seem to have much alcohol in them, well they didn't get me tipsy anyway! Friendly service. Would go back.

Cracking afternoon for a rooftop bar and just as I searched “rooftop bar near me” into Google Maps, a lovely chef sitting out the front of the venue declared “you’re here!” And indeed I was. Ladies lunching everywhere and no one stared at little old me on my own with a rose and a stunning plate of tomatoes & burrata.

Such a vibey rooftop bar with incredible views of the city. Highly recommend, the cocktail menu is inventive and fun, the food is tasty Italian food and the atmosphere is amazing. Katie and Brona were kind and attentive, nothing more to ask for!

Came on a Saturday afternoon, such a great venue and atmosphere. Staff are very accommodating and welcoming especially Andre the host/manager. He went above and beyond to find us a table considering it was fully booked! So definitely book a table if you can want to visit. Excellent choice of wines, cocktails and beers and great menu. Pizza is delicious!

Visited here recently for lunch by making our way down the alley and up the lift where the doors open to an awesome space with casual vibes and great views. The greeting we received on arrival was a little cold as we were taken to a reserved table for the four of us. There was no mention of how we ordered food, let alone drinks, until we moved the menus to find a QR code. (While ordering, we were prompted to tip but had not been served by a staff member yet - strange?) We ordered the Burrata to share as an entree and some drinks and then quickly realised we were tight for space on the small square table we were at. For mains we ordered the Gamberetti (Prawn and Pea), Taleggio Patate (Potato and Leek) and the Salsicce (Pork and Fennel Sausage and Pancetta) Pizzas and when they arrived we were definitely struggling to fit everything on our table. Add to this the pizzas were not sliced in advance and it was proving a difficult time for us all. The pizzas were okay (we’ve definitely had better), as they clearly weren’t cooked properly with the base being soggy in the centres of all our pizzas (knives and forks were required as you couldn’t eat them by the slice). By this stage the staff had warmed up and were much more pleasant but by this time the whole experience was just a little bit off. I’m sure it’s a great place to have drinks but not sure they should be serving pizzas on tables that do not have enough space to accomodate the plate sizes. All up, glad we stopped by but not sure we’ll be back.

We can’t thank Lulie enough for being so accommodating with our small elopement party. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. It was the perfect place to celebrate such a special day, and we’re so grateful for how smoothly everything went. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm, friendly and memorable experience!

Their Wednesday burger night has become our favorite burger place to go. Burger was very tasty and freshly cooked. Onion rings and chimps are just right with the burgers.

Lulie tavern a great experience in Johnson Street originally located in Lulie Street. They are for a wide range of food and drinks on their menu with a rooftop bar and a great view of Johnson Street. It offers a great atmosphere and great bartenders. It has a wide range of seating offering from indoor to outdoor deck. It has great neon signs that set the atmosphere. They have quick Service to serve you a food or drink.

We came here during the week when the bar had a collab with Valentinas from Sydney so all the food was actually coming from Valentinas. Overall the bar felt very laid back with retro decor and booths along one side of the wall. There is also a free pool table for people to enjoy. The food was good, the Tina Classic is what I imagined to be the classic American breakfast and the patty melt was great too. Food - 8 Service - 9 Vibe - 8 Price - $$

Absolutely loved $1 wing night, they were so moist and cooked to order! The sauces were lovely and I was obsessed with the pickles (a perfect way to balance the fried wings). The staff were lovely too. Definitely make a booking and it was the perfect vibe for a date

Stayed all day in this western / Americana style bar. Awesome Interior, nice rooftop for a change of pace from the neon signs and dark bar atmosphere. Food was awesome had 2 burgers over the course of the day and both were great. Awesome front area outside as well as a downstairs stage for live music.

Pros - Server was very warm and they indeed gave us a great seat as per requested. Ambiance very nice, great place to impress guests. Octopus BBQ was good. Fish was alright. Cons - We waited over 30 mins in between appetizers and main course. I don’t know if that’s the normal serving time but it took forever. The green pasta was bland, however quality of pasta good. The arancini balls were undercooked we were gnawing on half cooked rice grains. Too much goat cheese as well it was overpowering the dish. Overall I might not return. Food supersedes ambiance. Otherwise I would only bring guests there for a drink, not to eat.

Came here around 5pm on Tuesday without a booking for their Steak Frites night, but thankfully they still had a high table available for us. The steak and fries were good! We ordered it with the béarnaise sauce which was so tasty; creamy and herby. For the drink, I tried the Gaytime Milk Punch and I love it. To me, it tasted like a sweet cough syrup mixed with a light milkshake 😋 if you like sweet cocktails, please give it a shot! We had the desserts too and they were sooo yummsss. We ordered the Ricotta Cake with cumquat jam, mascarpone cream, and pistachio; a safe choice that you can never go wrong with. We also ordered the Raspberry semifreddo with crispy filo pastry and white chocolate chantilly. If you prefer something flavourful and refreshing, you should try this one instead!! We also had the workers check in on us once in a while to make sure we’re good with everything. They’re all so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come back and maybe check out the different floors as well (especially the music room 😣😣😣)!!!

Tuesday Steak Night at H.E.R Bar is a winner! $25 for a perfectly cooked medium rare steak with fries and salad, great portion, tasty charred edges, and just the right amount of fat. Happy hour wine for $10 was a bonus. Great vibe, attentive service, and definitely worth booking ahead as it’s a popular night. I’ll be back for sure!

And oh my god, am I glad it did. If you're looking for a sign to go, consider this it: The $25 Steak Night is practically a public service. I'm talking perfectly cooked steak with a fresh salad that felt less like an afterthought and more like a fabulous companion. It was the kind of dinner that makes you think, "Wait, is this flirting with me?" And speaking of fabulous companions... I need to talk about the service, specifically a goddess named Claudia and mostly everyone lol. Seriously, the service was so exceptional it felt less like being waited on and more like being expertly charmed. Claudia was a sheer delight—attentive, witty, and basically the human embodiment of that lovely Italian Prosecco I was sipping. The dessert sampler (hello, Semi-Freddo!) was... okay, but honestly, with service and steak that good, they could have served me a bowl of crunchy leaves and I'd still be singing their praises. Spent a lovely afternoon with my girl at HerBAR 💕 This 4-storey spot is such a vibe — each level has its own unique style and charm 😍 We had our lunch at the ground floor of HER, and it did not disappoint! Started with freshly baked sourdough and oysters (a must! 🦪), then moved on to a perfect pairing — steak 🥩 and vegetarian pasta 🍝. I’m not vegetarian but oh my… I absolutely loved it 😋 The combo was so good! The ambience? Classy yet relaxed — just the right amount of buzz for a lunch date 💫 Not too quiet, not too busy. Overall, I totally loved it and would 100% come back again 💖

Had the olives as well which are amazing fat juicy Sicilian olives ! great espresso martini and Pinot noir ($10 on happy hour special!) Ricotta cake to finish - one of the best meals out I’ve had in a long time & was giving New York bar vibes with the ambience and music!

Came here twice for $25 steak night. Highly recommend the bernaise sauce. Their steak, fries and salad were definitely worth staying back at work on a Tuesday evening to be rewarded with this. However, this time I had to wait 30min to be seated even though I’d booked a time. I was ping ponged around 4 different staff members.

I attended a birthday dinner at Harlow in Richmond on a lovely Saturday evening in March. We were seated on the balcony, which was the perfect spot to watch the sun go down over the outdoor area. Our group had a couple of long tables to spread out, and there was a TV at the end of the balcony along with easy access to the bar, where we grabbed plenty of drinks throughout the night. The location is great, just a short walk from East Richmond Station and close to the city. Harlow has a really welcoming vibe, with heaps of space both indoors and out. There are DJ booths and dance floors downstairs, function spaces upstairs, and a bistro and bar area on the main level where we were dining. We ordered drinks when we arrived, I got a well made lemon lime bitters and a beer for my girlfriend, which she really enjoyed. We used the QR codes at the table to order food and went with a serve of chips and the pork belly bao. The chips were pretty standard, but the bao was a standout. My girlfriend and a few others at our table absolutely loved it and it quickly became a group favourite. What I really loved about Harlow was how versatile the venue is. Whether you’re there for a casual meal, drinks with mates, or a night out dancing, it caters for all of it. The place is full of cosy nooks and open areas to relax or celebrate with friends and family. While we were there, the dance floor downstairs really started to pick up, adding to the atmosphere. There’s also a rooftop area and spaces upstairs for private functions, which looked great. I’d definitely recommend visiting if you’re in Richmond. It’s got a great energy, the location is super convenient, and I’m really keen to go back and try the boozy brunch I’ve heard so much about. Harlow is a top spot worth checking out for your next night out or weekend catch up.

We celebrated our daughter’s 21st Birthday at Harlow. The staff were amazing and so helpful in every way, from organising the music to the incredible food and drinks. They even helped my Dad down the stairs and through the crowd, at the end of the evening. Thanks Connor and James, you really helped us to have a fantastic time. We will definitely be back and we can highly recommend.

The location and environment of this store are comfortable, which attracts many customers. The visit of Jaychou, the popular Asian star, makes the store famous in the Asian market. I bet that in the future, many Asian customers will follow the footsteps of their idol Jaychou and come to this store to consume and take pictures. This is the influence of stars in this era👏

Overall fantastic seats on the rooftop, catchy music, lively atmosphere. The staff were lovely, especially Manny who served us. The food we ordered were decent, the fish was a bit too dry for my liking. The sparkling and cocktail are delicious, I was satisfied.

Quick service and a great chicken Parma. Top floor open areas are amazing on a Friday afternoon with a cold beer.

Food was, for the area, uniquely poor. The bread with dips had a dip that I swear was just potato puree (if it was something else, that's arguably worse considering the flavour). The buffalo cauliflower was soggy, undippable, and well and truly overpriced. The above dishes combined cost ~$20 each and quite frankly that's the worst price to quality ratio of any food I've eaten in Richmond, and I live in Richmond. And my mate's chips came out lukewarm. The music was FAR too loud - to the point at least one friend of mine literally left the venue for a brief walk as it was too much - and I couldn't hear people across the table from me. The red wine was warm, both my glass and a friends from different bottles.

Sunday lunch roast.. Very warm and friendly pub Had roast in public bar and was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced at $28. Although did include a 10% surcharge on Sunday. The beef was tender and went well with a glass of red. All staff friendly and a very cozy vibe and busy. Great way to spend a Sunday watching the footy.

First time at the Orrong Hotel and gotta say — one of the best parmas I’ve had in Melbourne. Chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy inside with a solid crumb, and pairing it with gravy was a game-changer. The only downside? Size — definitely on the smaller side, which brings the score down a notch. Chips were minimal, salad was fresh and decent, but overall the plate felt a little light. I’ve also heard from the boys that portion sizes seem to shrink slightly each visit, so worth noting. Service was friendly and efficient on the night, but what did take away from the experience was the constant reminders about our 45-minute time limit. Totally fair to give us a heads-up, but being reminded every 5–10 minutes got a bit much when we were already aware. Still, for quality and taste — that parma hits. Just wish there was more of it.

Friday is best to avoid the crowds only night without a special every other night you must book for dinner this a favourite haunt for locals and the well informed alike. Been here many times food is fresh, wine list is extensive and reasonably priced and don’t forget happy hour. The staff mostly local kids are very efficient and helpful. Shout out to Rachael thanks for making a good impression on my guests.

One of my favourite inner eastern suburbs pubs. It has an excellent cozy old world pub atmosphere, friendly staff good food and lots of beers on tap. My only criticism is I've found that ordering and receiving drinks at the table is a slow process even when the pub is quiet, you're better off going to the bar yourself.

Great pub with a long history. Popular among locals. We sit in their dining room, which has a cozy ambience, great for small gathering. The other side has live sports on TV. The food is amazing! We had scotch fillet and eggplant parma. Generous portions are so fresh! We had a great time and will highly recommend it.

Great to have this pub open again and judging by Thursday night crowd many agree. Good selection of meals including vegetarian options served quickly - well done kitchen staff. Great vibe, a busy noisy suburban pub with an undercover courtyard available for those needing a little less noise. Enjoyed our night here and would definitely return. Recommend making a reservation if you want to dine in as dining room gets very busy.

One of the best wine bars in Melbourne! I had a great experience at Gilbees with my friends, the staff were super friendly and accommodating, as well as knowledgeable on their wine selections and pairings. We came on a Thursday night, and I would recommend you coming here then, as they have their "local" specials on Thursdays. $45 for a set course of delicious, locally sourced seafood goodness! I won't spoil it, but pictured in my review is their grilled octopus, which is delicious and super tender, and their dessert; which is their very unique take on a sticky date pudding, but it isn't. Great place overall, for a large or small group, or even for a date night! Delicious food, great wine selection and great atmosphere, I can't recommend this place enough! Can't wait to go back for my next visit!

Gilbees is one of the best restaurants in Melbourne. Nestled between multiple venues in Johnston sheet, Gilbees has set itself apart. Fantastic service from friendly and welcoming staff with a palpable ethos of family, which permeates through both the staff and food. With a seasonal change in menu and often weekly change in wine list, Gilbees is a must visit restaurant for any food/wine enthusiast.

We had the: ➖Focaccia with whipped butter ($7) ➖Choux bun with Comte cream ($8) ➖Grilled octopus skewer with lojo mojo rojo ($13) ➖Scallops (~$8) ➖Charred leeks with Agrodolce and hazelnut ($18) ➖Cauliflower with pecorino and currants ($19) ➖Agnolotti with brown butter, celeriac and shiitake ($32) ➖Date molasses cake with crème chantilly and miso butterscotch ($14) The standout for me was absolutely the agnolotti, it was SO soft and fluffy, and I’m just obsessed with brown butter. It was so good we ordered this twice 😝. The charred leeks was also so delicious, as was the focaccia. The grilled octopus skewer wasn’t my fav, I probably wouldn’t order again. But that’s just because everything else was so yum and this was just okay. We were in the garden out the back which is so cute with fairy lights, a bar, and heaters, but I was still cold unfortunately. Overall 4.4 ⭐️ out of 5.

This place changed my life and I'm not joking. It's so wonderful to walk into a place be seated and just feel peace. Fantastic food, an incredible selection of wines and some of the nicest service I've ever experienced. I'm a pretty shy person but I felt confident here, I feel more like me if that makes sense. I don't want to waffle on but jesus I don't know what to say, I love this place. Easily best spot in Melbourne I've been to, I'm shocked this place doesn't have a Michelin star.

While the portions felt a bit small for the price, the quality made up for it. The menu is limited, but if you’re a seafood fan, Gilbees is a must! That’s why you have this 5-star rating — you guys truly deserve it!! Can’t wait to go back if you introduce a New Menu!

We booked a table for Sunday lunch for my MIL birthday day out! Delicious food and super yummy drinks! We did a tour at Melbourne museum so this place was a perfect location for lunch afterwards. Relax and chill restaurant space. We had burrata with toast, baked oysters, sourdough butter, scallops ceviche, veggies croquettes, pumpkin gnocchi, and chicken schnitzel to share between the 4 of us. We also got a couple different craft beers from the tap to try and had some cocktails and wine with our food. Toffee pudding was my favourite dessert out of the three we have, but Matcha cheese cake and chocolate brownie was okay too. I definitely recommend this place for delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere!

This is a find! Delicious, reasonably priced, and really friendly staff! The whole menu looks brilliant, we had the kangaroo and the steak & wine pie and we both loved ours. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, gave us some local tips, and we stayed for a drink afterwards as the place had a really decent and homely feel to it. Would definitely return.

Visited on a Wednesday after work as part of Pint of Origin. Loved it! Great food, i had the mussels, delicious and the Milk Stout from Bruny Island was a great companion. Large hotel and was buzzing. We will be returning.

beautiful pub inside and out, located on Cardigan Street in Carlton, plenty of paid street parking outside, Outdoor and Indoor seating available. Relaxing venue. The mulled cider is delicious as was the roast. The duck liver pate was very bland. recommended as a nice place with friends for a beer and simple feed.

The Lincoln one of my favourite restaurant. I love their schnitzel and Counter meal is one of amazing dish as well. Friendly stuff and gorgeous environment.

We had lunch with a group of 6 at the Lincoln today, it was absolutely fabulous. The service, from the moment we walked in, was brilliant. 4 of us had the Roast of the Day - Lamb. Delicious. One had the chicken schnitzel and one had the vegetarian mushroom dish. We all loved our meals, all very hot and served at exactly the same time. A rarity these days and the place was full of people! The plates were cleared quickly and the water topped up throughout lunch. Thank you to the staff, we all had a very enjoyable time. We will be back! Totally recommended.

My husband, Lou and I had dinner in "The Restaurant" at The Lincoln, Carlton. We were attended to by Mikey, Owen, Matt, Mooky and Kathy. They were absolutely welcoming, helpful and efficient. It's no wonder that everyone raves about the customer service provided by the team. I had chicken schnitzel and Lou had duck liver pate. For dessert, we had creme brulee which was served with 2 pieces of shortbread. The food was very delicious and coffee good. We enjoyed our meals very much especially the creme brulee and shortbread. Union Electric Bar & Rooftop – Melbourne (Chinatown area) A super cool bar with exposed brick walls and a rooftop garden decorated with fairy lights – perfect for chilling out with friends. 🍸 The cocktails here are amazing. My favorite was the Coconut Cocktail (the first white one I tried) – smooth, aromatic, and really refreshing. 🥂 The other three cocktails we ordered were also excellent, with a nice balance of sweet and sour flavors. Overall, a stylish spot with great vibes and fantastic drinks. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

Really loved our evening here! The cocktails were fantastic! We tried a few, but Vanilla Blossom and Caught in the Rain were the best! Super friendly and knowledgeable bartenders, nice music and lovely atmosphere! We would gladly return!

As I wandered back to my hotel after a yummy meal, I was lured by the siren call of late 90s hip-hop down the laneway. The source? This absolute gem of a rooftop bar, where the service was only outmatched by the delightful and delicious cocktail I was served. As a silly American bumbling their way through Melbourne, this little oasis was the perfect Thursday night retreat after a long, long day of work events. Whether it was the soothing sounds of Del the Funky Homosapien, the kind service, or the perfectly balanced drink, the whole experience was so lovely I’ve now written my first-ever Google review. Thank you for a lovely last sojourn in Melbourne, Union Electric. Well done. (Bonus points for Queen Latifah, in full effect.) Chef’s kiss!

Love the atmosphere here, especially as the sun went down and the lights became more pronounced. Cocktails were all well-balanced, kinda fruity and all very pretty. Truffle toasted sandwiches were awesome!

I had mixed experiences here. On my first visit i really liked it. Not too crowded, music not too loud, great service. My second visit was a different story, music too loud, water dripping onto the seats from the sprayers and slow service. However, happy hour has great drink specials with $10 Aperol Spritz and $12 gin and tonic.

As a Cigar person, I'm always on the look for cigar lounges when I travel. This location was recommended by a friend. Located on top floor with amazing view of the parliament historic building. Limited cigar menu, but good quantity. There s extensive drink options and small bites. Little pricey though, which I was fine because of the exchange 💱 differerence with USD. Plan ahead, there s a waiting to be seated 20 minutes minimum.

Siglo boasts a fantastic location with a brilliant balcony overlooking Spring Street, offering one of the best views in the city. The atmosphere is sophisticated and the setting is perfect for an evening drink. ​However, the experience is let down by a few significant factors. The food menu is highly disappointing and remarkably limited. For a venue with such an extensive beverage list, it's a shame the culinary options don't cater to a wider range of tastes. While the cocktails are well-made, they are very expensive. ​Patrons should also be aware of the strict entry policy, which appears to be in place to manage crowding. While the aroma of cigars adds to the classic ambiance, the overall experience would be vastly improved if the food offerings were given serious attention. Come for the view and a drink, but perhaps plan to dine elsewhere.

Visited Siglo on Saturday 11th October for a couple of drinks and a cigar. The staff were great, the drinks were on point, the atmosphere was great…until a group of 25 tried to commandeer the front seating areas for their impromptu post-wedding after party. To say they were unpleasant would be polite; unfortunately, the best man had failed to secure a venue for the bridal party to enjoy post-nuptial celebrations. When more and more of their party began to crowd around our table and take over the space, the staff very politely advised them that they couldn’t handle such a large group without prior booking. Rather than take it on the chin, the ring-leaders of the group tried to shame and cajole the poor wait staff, even threatening to write a 1star review if they didn’t acquiesce to their demands! I hope the management of Siglo take the time to review the security footage from that afternoon; they will see their employees handling a difficult and demanding group without prior booking with upmost diplomacy. Special mention to the waiter with the funny tie who bore the brunt of the (not so) best man (Josh?) - I think the waiter’s name was Conrad. Good on ya mate.

Great spot hidden away, with a European vibe and setting. The cocktails are good, the cigar menu is good (when available). Service can be a hit and miss depending on how busy, but the food options are limited, unless you dine downstairs. Overall I would definitely recommend, as the crowd is controlled and is never overcrowded. Plus, smokers can smoke as it is predominantly an outdoor area.

To the siglo owner, I am writing to make a formal complaint about the way I was treated during my recent visit to Siglo. I have always considered Siglo one of my favourite places — I’ve been here more than ten times and never once was front door security asked for my physical ID. On this occasion, I forgot to bring it, but I had a copy on my phone which I offered to show. Despite this, I was denied entry. I accept that rules are rules, but the enforcement has been inconsistent compared to my previous visits. What is truly unacceptable, however, is the behaviour of your staff member (who claimed to be the manager). (female appearance but with a male voice) Instead of addressing the situation professionally, this person mocked me, pulled faces, and even called me “stupid.” The individual presented in a female appearance but spoke with a male voice, and their conduct was completely unprofessional. I fully understand that security has every right to check IDs — that is not the issue. The issue is the manner in which I, as a loyal customer, was treated. Being insulted, disrespected, and humiliated at the door is not what anyone should ever experience at Siglo. This is not service, it is outright disrespect. I strongly urge you to review this staff member’s behaviour, as it damages Siglo’s reputation and leaves regular customers like myself unwilling to return. I am expecting this complaint to be taken seriously and an appropriate action to be made. I hate giving bad reviews and but this place is simply shocking….

Went there last Thursday with my son, to enjoy a cigar and single malt, as he turned 21 that week. I'm not a local, so didn't know about this jem. The staff were fantastic, no pressure, the waiter suggested a cigar to try, paired with a couple of single malts. Left the lighter at the table for us, to relight as we went. A great place to spend time with your nearest and dearest. Couldn't fault the experience, atmosphere and service.

The occasion was a 21st celebration and from the moment I entered the staff were phenomenal. Such attention to detail and they asked and remembered our names throughout the function. Polite, attentive and very friendly. The food was divine, plenty of it and nothing was too hard if special dietary was required. The set up and ambience was perfect for the occasion. I would definitely recommend Siglo rooftop for an event and will be back for sure! Well done 👏🏻

Loop Rooftop has absolutely lifted their game with the new Mediterranean-inspired menu — fresh, light, and full of flavour. There are plenty of options to suit everyone, but the standouts for me were the saganaki and the meatballs. Honestly, the meatballs are some of the best I’ve ever had! The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help with cocktail recommendations, which really adds to the experience. And of course, the garden bar is just stunning — a vibrant space with some of the best views in the city. Perfect spot for a long afternoon or evening with friends or a first date. Highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already.

I pre-booked a table at Loop Roof and went with all my girlfriends — the staff were so lovely from the moment we walked in! The vibes were vibing, the food was amazing, and even when the kitchen was closing, they still made sure we had some hot chips to snack on. One thing I loved is that they don’t use QR codes — you actually get to talk to the staff, get recommendations, and it just makes the whole experience feel so much more personal. None of us drink alcohol, but the staff went above and beyond with mocktails. There wasn’t even a set menu for it, and they were happy to make anything we requested or completely surprise us, and every single drink was delicious. Such a fun and thoughtful touch! The food itself was also really good, and the rooftop on Level 4 is absolutely stunning. The staff even helped take photos of us and let us vibe out upstairs with our own little mini photoshoot. We had such an incredible night and felt so well looked after. Would 100% recommend Loop Roof for a chill evening or a night out with mates. Will definitely be coming back!!

I booked out a space here for some 22nd birthday drinks and couldn't have asked for a better venue!! It is one of my favourite rooftops in Melbourne and the perfect spot to book for events. All the staff were super welcoming and were able to accomodate our large group of around 35 in the perfect private area. It was incredibly easy to book through Leah and her organisation took a huge pressure off hosting. I have also been to other birthday events here and had the same really positive experience! Would definitely book here again and excited to head back soon!

Was not a fan of the upper rooftops music at all. Has the potential to be a cool spot, but playing Katy Perry Firework and Turn down for what - sent me straight out the door. Venues need to assess music that people today actually enjoy. Not 2012 radio music. Other than that it was a cute spot.

Loop Roof is a beautiful venue to host an event. I hosted an event with around 25 people and Leah was fantastic with helping organize everything. On the night, everything was set up beautifully and the vibes were perfect! They have outdoor heating and a cover over the roof so a great option even in winter. The bar wasn't super busy which was ideal because it meant we didn't have to fight people to get served. Highly recommend this venue for events! Will definitely be back.

great atmosphere. beer garden is very nice and the inside is nice and cozy. great for a drink or two. drink prices were okay and the location was great. service was also pretty fast. bartenders were a bit uninterested and didnt know much about what they were serving. Asked for a local independent and they suggested carlton draught. food left something to he desired. they had a vegiterrian section of the menu so had relatively high hopes but was a bit let down by the options. ended up with the eggplant parma which was okay but very small and few chips. also quite expensive for what it was. others who ordered meat dishes seems to enjoy them but some complaints about chewy meat. wouldnt mind coming back but definitely better places around.

Really nails that grungy inner-city old school pub atmosphere, with springy floors, tired carpet and an eclectic selection of locals on hand. There are lighter eating and drinking areas in the adjoining laneway but that’s not what you come here for - most of these old pubs have been gentrified so enjoy it while it stays this way. Didn’t sample the menu but the drinks were cold and service was prompt. If it’s not to your preference there’s plenty of other options nearby.

A dark and grungy basement, a trampoline for the floor in the meals area, and a thousand eyes stating at you as you eat. You wouldn't want to be eating a steak in there on good Friday. But looking from the outside in, I assume God has forgiven. Meals 3/5 Venue 2/5 Staff 4/5

Can’t wait to go back for happy hour, the place feels like a magic backyard! It keeps getting better. They have a beer garden, a beautiful, warm dining space, and a bar out the front with great service. Prices are great and the atmosphere makes you want to go back. Definitely a new favourite spot!

Great pub - great food! I’ve been coming here since the mid 90s and I love how the place has retained its charm. The front bar is a great place for a beer, the dining room is cozy in winter and the beer gardens are COVID friendly. All the food I’ve had here over the years has been great, if you’re up for a classic (and generous) pub feed, try anything!

We sat in the courtyard in the back. Lovely little area with lots of green. Felt fresh and naturey and we didn’t feel rushed. Service was excellent. Grab your drinks at the bar and can order at the bar or they will take your order. Cold beer and some good options. Food was better than expected. We had the Steak sand which, grilled chicken sandwich, and the roast of the day. Everyone left full and happy! What a great experience! Thanks!

We had the Sunday special roast which rotates every week. The Roast Chicken with all the trimmings was incredible - probably one of the best roasts I’ve had - and the gravy was next level. My friends had the beef cheeks and the meat was so tender. We’ll definitely be back. Great service and fireplace in dining room. A wonderful venue.

We tried the rump steak, one with roasted vegetables and mash and the other with chips and salad. The steak was quite chewy, so much that I left a big chunk out on the plate after giving up cuz my jaws were starting to ache. Paid extra for mushroom sauce ($2) - didn't taste good, was like it was straight out of a packet with cheap gravy sauce. For $32 dollars, I guess I expected better. Service was pretty good though, very friendly and very fast, checked if we wanted the heater on where we sat. (We came here because my friend was craving one of the meals on an older menu which was no longer an option, and we also saw them on an older copy of Victoria's Official Visitor Guide) Visited Thu lunch hour.

Taeylor the pub manager helped to make my event run smoothly by providing an excellent customer service. Love coming here with the doggos, food and drink are excellent too. Lovely atmosphere tho we sit outside it was warm and comfortable thanks to the heater. Everyone was happy!

We had my partner’s 30th Birthday drinks here in the Beer Garden on a Friday night! Perfect location. Booked some outdoor tables for about 20-25 people and was perfect. Live music and good vibes. Staff were really accommodating and looked after us with heaters and plates for the cake I brought. 100% recommend for a small chill gathering.

Pop into the pub for a Friends themed trivia night. Good pub vibes, dog friendly and they are dog friendly which is very handy for those with pooches. The food tasted pretty good. We ordered the one vege nachos, beef mince nachos, some wedges and the cheeseburger - everything was good. The let down honestly was the trivia / host. Everyone participating just could not understand why the host was screaming into the microphone in a small room and then had the music blasting so loudly. It was awful. Not the fault of the pub

This is a great local pub with good options on tap. The staff are super friendly and the food is high standard pub fare. I’ve recently had the Parma and the steak sandwich and both were great. As a bonus, kids eat free all weekend if you have a booking. Highly recommend!

Your typical local pubs with indoor seatings and outdoor seatings which they called their beer garden. The outdoor seating is dog-friendly so you can bring your dog for your weekend drinks. There's a pool table and different screens showing different sports to suit everyone. The food was just okay in my opinion, nothing stands out as it tasted like typical local pubs. Service on the day was a little slow as it seemed to have only one person doing front of the house. Food - 6 Service - 6 Vibe - 8 Price - $$

Potato gnocchi was soft and fluffy, the flavours were nice and fresh. The salads were nice, the flavours were ok, but nothing stand out. 16$ for the small bowels is quite steep. The tomato salad was tangy and the salt was a nice balance. Chips were standard. It’s a very happening place, quite loud but didn’t feel rowdy. An issue the table had was the steaks being very undercooked. Pictured is an order for a steak to be cooked “medium”, and the order for medium rare was almost rare. Prices were quite expensive, the food wasn’t something I’d return for. But the service was wonderful. Note the menu online currently is not up to date.

Went to Union House in Richmond on a Saturday night for a feed and overall had a good experience. The food was solid, though I thought some portions and value could’ve been better. The chicken schnitzel was around $30 — tasty, and it came with kimchi (which was good quality), but for that price I personally would’ve preferred chips or a bit more on the plate. The burger on the other hand surprised me. It didn’t look like anything special — more of a beef brisket–style burger — but it was cooked medium and packed with flavour. Easily the highlight of the night for me. Chips were also done well, crispy and seasoned nicely. Service was excellent. The girl who served our table was friendly, attentive, and just made the whole night smoother.

Had a lovely weeknight dinner here and was pleasantly surprised by how amazing everything was! They really live up to the “upscale pub” settings. The sirloin steak I got was better than the one I had at some expensive steak house - Not hard to chew, seasoned well and perfectly med-rare. The mash was so deliciously creamy. Had their sticky date pudding and brownie as a dessert which was a perfect way to end a cold night. All the staff we met were super warm, attentive and friendly. Would love to come back to try other food.

Came in a group of 18 and overall it was a great night. Food: top notch! We ordered a variety of entrees and they were all really good. Wish we ordered more lol. Opted for butcher’s cut special for the night to share and the portion is huge with lovely charred steak. Service: table service which was lovely. Wish the food comes a bit faster but totally understand that we’re a big group and was at peak. Vibe: we were seated upstairs on the 1st floor. Does get busy with reasonable level of noise Thanks team. Looking forward to head back to try more and their steak night on Wednesday.

Will absolutely be back! The cauliflower steak is great value for money. Ordered a side of chips as I didn’t think it would be filling but just the main alone had me completely full! Cauliflower was cooked perfectly and the additions made each bite full of flavour. Had a bit of a citrus taste that balanced things nicely. Gnocchi was also delicious and very filling. The sauce was perfect but the taste of sage wasn’t really there. Chicken was lovely but could’ve done with a different side as opposed to just lettuce and chicken. Staff was lovely! Only downside was the food took a while to come out but we were a larger group so this was to be expected.

Very disappointed with their customer service. I am part of the footy tipping competition and tipped 9/9 for Round 20 in the footy (which entitled me a to a steak dinner!). I went to put my tips in for Round 21 on a Thursday night and was told I could only redeem on a Wednesday steak night (which is completely fine). However, they added the qualifier that I could only redeem on the Wednesday after Round 20 and no other Wednesday after. I would have liked this to have been made clear to me prior so I could have made arrangements. They completely mismanaged expectations and I won't be going there again. All in all, just seems bizarre their team wouldn't honour there commitment. It actually left me a bit flat and disappointed. I don't recommend the pub at all and suggest giving the place a miss.

First time & Loved everything about here. Great staff, music, ambiance and a delicious meal. A large cozy space. I’d highly recommend the mid-week flat head meal. Generous portions without skimping on the quality. A wide selection of wines - I enjoyed the orange wines and pretty great cocktails offered as well. Could spend a good couple hours here comfortably. From the moment I stepped in, I knew that tonight can't go wrong with Old Palm Liquor. The cozy vibe, the music, the staffs, the chef here, oh and of course brilliant wine list and grilled foods... Everything is so perfect that we felt like we just stepped into a movie and be part of the show. Behind the door is a whole new world that the owners put all the hard work in. We started our night with flatbread and grilled carrots. It was perfectly cooked and the sauce is amazing. Then, the star of the show: The Grilled Pork Chop. It was so tender, juicy and smokey at the same time. Every bite is melted in your mouth. That is definitely highly recommended. And thanks to our lovely staff that totally made our night even better ☺️ Would definitely come back to try more, especially the steak!!!

We waited for over an hour for a table on a Friday night, but that was on us. We really enjoyed their gnocchi and oyster cream dish. The pork chop was served a bit too charred, which made us wonder if it was intentional or just overcooked — but overall, we ejoyed everything we ordered. It was pretty busy, so it was occasionally hard to get the server’s attention, but the staff’s overall service still left a positive impression.

Enjoyed Sunday roast here recently with a small group. The food was superb and everything was delicious. The greens with the lamb shoulder roast were unexpectedly good for something so simple. My mouth is watering just remembering the meal. Yum!

What a way to start a weekend in Melbourne! Catching up with an old pal we rolled in the door at 6pm on a Saturday night without a booking and luck delivered us a table. Everything from the kind, gentle service to the scrumptious food ticked all the boxes for a great evening. The fact that I had the open fire 🔥 in the rear room warming my back added to the glow I already had from the wine. Thanks team for having us. We’ll be back !

The sirloin steak was perfection. The flat bread, fries, salad, and broccoli were all delicious too. Service was great, and vibes in this restaurant/ bar were intimate and happening. Great for a date or small group.

Just wanted to say thanks to the staff who took care of us — from the great service to checking in with allergy and dietary requirements, and ensuring one of my family members received a good meal without any spices. It really made a difference and was much appreciated. The set menu was absolutely fantastic. One of my favourite dishes was the swordfish with mild curry spices and coconut creamy lentils, tomato, and curry leaf on a cracker — so flavourful! I also loved the garlic roti flatbread with creamy yoghurt. The Paloma cocktail was smooth, fruity and sweet — such a nice indulgence, and it was actually recommended by one of the waiters. The rest of the meal was also great. I was impressed with the portion sizes — enough to share, and just right to feel satisfied without being too much. The retro atmosphere was beautiful — kind of like a 1960s bohemian style — and it honestly felt like being at home! This place is perfect for anyone who loves good food and wine. If you’re a wine and food connoisseur, or just someone who enjoys a well-thought-out menu with a great drinks list, this is the perfect spot. The location is also ideal and draws in a nice mix of people from all ages.

Great atmosphere and interior design. Just came here for some lunch. The food was good but I don’t think it reflected the price paid. Did not try anything off the drinks menu though the drinks at other tables did look great. I really appreciated that the whole menu was gluten free and there were plenty of vegan options.

Can’t go wrong with fish tacos, corn ribs and guacamole. A bit oily on the corn ribs but it was still juicy and full of flavour. Fish tacos were generous in size and the pickled cabbage was refreshing. Guc was perfect. Size was not bad for Mexican taco serving compared to other restaurants. The duck tacos was served rolled up and uninspiring - trying to resemble a spring roll but it lacked pickled vegetables or something to heighten a bland piece of duck meat. Guava jarritos was surprisingly tasty and would order again, it would go so well with gin or any clear spirit. Music was a bit loud for a Sunday night.

Visited for the rooftop, did not realise there were five flights of stairs! Definitely needed the cocktail upon reaching the top. A fun atmosphere and delicious drinks. We enjoyed guac and chips before moving downstairs to experience the full dinner menu. The fries and beef tacos were yummy but the empanadas were quite flavourless. The steak lacked seasoning and had not been adequately rested, as you can see it bled all over the plate. Overall, ambiance was well worth a visit for a beverage but the food was a little hit and miss

Tucked away in the bustling Hardware Lane is a five-level experience of Mexican flavor — complete with a restaurant and two rooftop bars. Fair warning: there are a lot of stairs to climb if you're heading to the rooftop. The fish tacos and duck taquitos were definitely the standouts — super tasty and full of flavor. The birria, on the other hand, was a little dry for our liking. That said, the vibe and the rooftop view made up for it. Last night on holidays in Melbourne and so excited to get to Hotel Nacional. As a coeliac I had read reviews about their amazing gluten free menu and I was not disappointed! I could order anything on the menu.…the food, service, ambience and margaritas were excellent! I’ll definitely be back every time I visit Melbourne!

We ordered different dishes, starting with tacos, which were alright. The fish and birria beef tacos are 7/10, and the cheesy potato taquitos 8.5/10. The grilled cauliflower and pastel azteca seemed to have many flavours that weren't well fit together. It feels wrong, and they are 4/10 at most. The waiters didn't feel very welcoming, but the restaurant vibe was good. Would come here again for small bites only.

Hotel Nacional has a great location on Hardware Lane with a cozy, well-heated rooftop—even in early winter—which creates a vibrant atmosphere, mostly attracting a corporate crowd. However, access is a drawback: no lift means climbing three flights of stairs, making it not wheelchair-friendly. We chose the rooftop for the vibe, but the limited snack menu was underwhelming. Beef and duck tacos were decent, but the prawn taco lacked flavor and felt raw. Empanadas were dry, and the only vegetarian starter—potato and mushroom balls—was ordinary. The full menu is only available in the downstairs restaurant. While the ambiance and setting are strong points, especially for casual drinks, the food quality doesn’t match. There’s real potential here, but the menu needs refinement to truly impress.

I've been meaning to get to this gem for many moons, and after a few failed attempts and losing hope that it would happen at all (Gerald's Bar is moving to its new home on Lygon St soon...) - I MADE IT! Worth wait/disappointed it took me so long, and that I waited until I moved out of Carlton North. Vibe = immaculate. Coffee = rich and strong. Olives = aplenty. Service = friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. Can't wait to take someone on a date to the new Gerald's Bar down the track... 11/10 ✨️🍝🍷

This is our first time here and we loved it! Food is well executed, service is impeccable (Jess is the best!) and the ambience is so cozy. We will definitely come back to get the seafood for main and more snacks. So glad we decided to try this place!

i went with a friend for dinner and drinks. the wine selection was great, and the food was white good (although the barramundi wasn’t properly scaled). the one relatively minor complaint we both had was that the food came out too fast! we had four different dishes on the table, plus bread, at one stage. not only was the table overcrowded (making it difficult to actually pick up and transfer the food to our plates), but it meant some of our warmer dishes sat on our table and cooked down while we were finish the dishes before them, and our dinner went by more quickly than we would have liked. if the pacing of the dishes was adjusted, the experience would have been borderline perfect.

Great Food, Great atmosphere. Only complaint is they say you can’t book, but when you walk in you can still be given a table at the back and walk past all the good tables that are empty. Doesn’t make sense. How do people get the good tables if they arnt booking?

This is a hidden gem! Very busy tho with a lot of walk-in customers. Absolutely loved their home made dishes and chill vibe. From a simple house pickled vegetables to roasted pumpkin, it’s just perfect. We had red wine, it’s was nice and smooth, recommended by the friendly staff. Food’s a little bit pricy but with very classy set up and good taste, worth the value. Will come back to visit again.

a unique, daily changing seasonal menu is what enticed us here! we enjoyed the warm, homely feel of gerald's, feeling so welcome as soon as we walked in! we loved the concept of their set menu, without even ordering or being shown a menu we were just brought dishes, it was so exciting!! we especially love their anchovies, thinly sliced vitello tonnato, and they absolutely perfected the snapper. you won't be bored at gerald's! perfect place for a tasty bite, a wine and great conversations.

REVIEW: 💖  Our favourite was the dessert!! In particular, the chocolate pudding blew us away. The airy crispy top. The molten bottom that liquifies into a decadent hot chocolate. It was a living dream. I would order this again in a heart beat! The banoffee pie was a little too decadent and sweet. However, the caramel flavour (definitely no coffee flavour in sight!) was delicious and incredibly addictive. The crispy base shattered my diet but it was fantastic as well. 🤩 ✔️  Pasta mista isn't something I typically served at Italian/European centric restaurants. There was an element of fun, seeing all the different pasta types and eating it with the pork ragu and the generous shaving of salted cheese. ❌  The house smoke trout kipfler was not my favourite. I know it's hard to find all the pin bones in the fish. My suspicions were raised when I inadvertently swallowed a couple before I was able to catch one with my teeth before it went any further.  😰 They're thin and small enough not to do any real harm, but it's unpleasant to have. 👎 ❌  In house bread had weak game. Felt like it was left out for a while where it had hardened, and it didn't seem like the butter/oil came complimentary. When we asked the waitress, she was happy to accommodate whichever we preferred, but very strange for it to not come with anything. 😬 ➖  Service was fine. They kept an eye on our dishes, and were timely with dropping off and picking up our new dishes. The waitress with the brunette braided ponytail was extremely friendly, while I noticed the others seemed a little more annoyed. 🤨

Impeccable visual in the night and that’s how it caught my attention walking past. Very busy during the weekend nights and such a good spot to be at. The drink menu was a bit limited if you aren’t too big on wine but generally good. The pizza was pretty decent but nothing on the menu stood out to me.

Every time I drive past, people are always spilling out on the street soooo I didn’t think I’d get a seat for dinner. Managed to get a table for two in front of the fire in the back area 🔥 Between two adults we had the oysters (6), chips, and pizza from the Da Paolo pop-up. Quick service + drinks menu + incredible food + vibes = a happy and returning customer 🍷🍕🩷

Had drinks at Bahama Gold.. it’s such a great place to go in the winter.. they have a really good fireplace and some really fine wines, beers and food.. it has a really laid back vibe and it is certainly a fantastic place for after work drinks.. do yourself a favour and head to Bahama Gold for a quiet ale or more..

I’m in Brunswick East experiencing the delight of Bahama Gold plus their summer residency with Da Paolo. Vibe is on point here, tunes are from the vinyl collection, and if you can, front bar is my pick as you are close to the cult pizza making action! Bahama Gold has drinks sorted and they do take away too plus growlers too! The drinks list is 37 pages of awesome. They responsibly wouldn’t let me order 1 of everything. Now the pizza…. Tiny menu, of master crafted flavours. The combos really are unexpectedly perfect and next level. I had the Heirloom Zuccini and the Salumi with the secret spicy sauce. I knew it would be great, but I didn’t anticipate how great it really is. Quite the perfect experience.

I absolutely love Bahama Gold. Connected to "Old Palm" next door (also epic) wonderful choice of tapped beer and wines. Ohh, cocktails are epic! Rotating menu with amazing produce sourced and prepared in the bar. Small menu which I love. Super cool tunes played in the background too 👌💥

Really delicious vegan pizza and wine for a reasonable price! Staff is friendly and they seem to work really quickly and well together! Recommend stopping in for evening drinks and dinner with anyone and everyone you love

The set menu is coherent, celebrating native ingredients. Very innovative. Enjoyed most of the savoury but love the desserts most, especially the soufflé. Probably the best i have ever tasted. Was told the recipe was kept since restaurant opening. Definitely the signature dish! The little tour to open kitchen is a bonus. It is a bit pricey but worthwhile given good food, great ambience and night view.

But what made the evening truly unforgettable was the personal and attentive service. The staff made our celebration feel incredibly special by presenting us with a personalized card signed by the team to commemorate our anniversary. A major highlight was the post-meal tour of their kitchen, where a staff member graciously showed us their operations and answered our questions. The views are spectacular looking out to Melbourne high above the city at sunset. The wait staff were truly amazing and really did everything to break the mold of robot waiters,they added their own personal touch which was well received. The dining area was spacious and left the experience very intiment. The food was a absolute culinary masterpiece. The flavors and the textures and unique paintings of some foods left an orgasmic explosion in your mouth. We celebrated our 40th birthdays at Vue we made the most perfect choice of restaurants for this momentous occasion. The chefs tour of the kitchen added a whole new element to the experience, With Wealth of knowledge and overall experience every section of the kitchen was explaon in great detail by the Sous Chef who was a very funny yet very professional man. We enjoyed a photo with the chefs and the topped out the experience for us it was beautiful. After this we returned to our table to find beautiful personalized birthday cards signed by the staff. It was truly a night and experience that we will remember forever and pass on the message to as many people as possible. Highly recommended

We celebrated my birthday at Vue de Monde (2 Oct 2025), and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The team (especially Silvia, Barbara, Mia, and Neil) were outstanding, attentive, intuitive, and genuinely kind. They struck the perfect balance between engagement and giving us space, making the evening feel effortless. From the lobby welcome to our farewell, every interaction was thoughtful and polished. They handled complex allergy requirements with remarkable care, never once making us feel like an inconvenience. Each of the 11 or so courses were perfectly portioned and timed. We had to decline the cheese course as we were so full! Every dish flowed into the next with thoughtful precision, each complementing the previous and what was to come. My highlights included; the garlic and leek tart, wagyu and damper, and the ice cream sandwich. The Million Dollar Baby cocktail was a heavenly must from Lui Bar. This paired with the views made the evening even more memorable. At the end, they presented a handwritten birthday card, which was a beautiful personal touch. It’s those small gestures, paired with flawless service and exceptional food, that make the Vue de Monde team truly world class. We are so grateful to the team for making the night unforgettable, and we will definitely be back.

One of the best restaurants if not the best restaurant in the Southern Hemisphere. From the time we got there till the time I left, the entire experience was amazing. The somm team, the wait staff were just exceptional. Explaining every single dish, element of the restaurant and the the inspiration behind. A special shout out to Raj, for being the absolutely lovely host and to the lovely team Barbie, Nicole, Danny, Ben, PJ, Cody, Maite and Fergus and everyone. (I couldn’t remember everyone’s names). The service, the atmosphere and the food were nothing short of exceptional. It was an absolute pleasure to visit this place and I can’t stress enough to visit it again! Much Love!

The food is perfection and every dish is a work of art - so beautiful and creative and the tableware uses gorgeous natural materials. But it’s the team that work there that make it such a special experience! Our fave part of the night was the kitchen tour and the interactive station with the patisserie chef. Shoutout to Andy for the tour - we loved meeting the team that brings it all to life, like Jack, the apprentice, he was all smiles and full of energy!

Lovely Monday lunch with friends at Cookie. The table has been booked well in advance. Service was good, lunch all foods very nice so it was atmosphere. Drink menue is large. Something to choose for everyone. We shall be back.

Cookie really is a Melbourne institution. It’s been around for as long as I can remember, and after years since my last visit, I decided to go back and refresh my memory. The interiors are eclectic and chaotic in the best way possible — walls plastered with posters and art, a bar with a brick base and marble top, and quirky objects (mainly books) scattered everywhere. It’s definitely a space with personality. The menu, though, can be a little overwhelming at first — both food and drinks are extensive. As a Bloody Mary fan, my choice was easy, but I’d recommend checking the menu online before you go so you’re not rushed. Luckily, we had a group of six and a helpful waitress to guide us, which made ordering much easier. Some standouts for us were the Thai herb cured Kingfish, Garlic chive dumplings, Massaman beef curry, and Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. Every dish we tried was full of flavour, but those were the real highlights. As the cuisine is Thai, expect a fair bit of spice across the menu. We were seated in a cozy corner at the back, which felt private and perfect for conversation without the usual city noise. The menu is designed for sharing, and we had plenty of food to fill us all. With two drinks each and a generous spread, we spent under $100 per person — fantastic value for the quality and variety. Cookie is vibrant, fun, and full of character — an absolute classic Melbourne dining experience.

I'd forgotten just how great the food is at Cookie. Every dish delicious in a somewhat noisy atmosphere but with attentive and friendly service. The environment is special and unique. And don't skip desert!

Came down here on a Friday night, the place was buzzing at 6pm. We ordered a variety of dumpling dishes, both vegetarian and meat versions. For the main dishes we ordered the flat noodles, red curry, beef ribs and turmeric Maryland. All the dishes were well flavoured and definitely carries the nostalgic flavour notes of their Asian (mostly Thai) origins. The fusion is clear and the flavour is well adapted to the new age Australian palette. Worthy of having a work function and a gathering. There’s so much variety to choose from you won’t be disappointed.

The food is delicious, no doubt…some really exotic dishes which their staff are happy to recommend. What I found even more exemplary, was their customer service…special shout to the wonderful girl, Khandi, who served us ever so patiently, and recommended dishes that perfectly matched our taste buds and palettes. We had a great experience overall. Will definitely go back there for more of their good food and customer service. ❤️

Great place, cool vibe, DJ on (Thursday when I was there). Little hard to find, entrance is a small doorway between all the other shops. Bouncer standing at door is the place, go up to level 1. Had not booked and no tables available in the restaurant side, so was seated in the bar side (I assume you call it that?? But it was exactly the same as the other side!!) but, no table service. You had to go to the bar to order which was an inconvenience. Even a QR on the table to order would make a massive difference. Food outstanding. 10/10 A huge beer on tap selection. 15/10!! Worth a visit but suggest booking a table if you want service!

This was my second visit. The lobster roll is so yummy, even my friend who’s not into fish or fishy anything had a bite and liked it. It’s buttery toasty goodness. Yum! Last visit we had the salt and vinegar chicken wings and they were nice too. Had an espresso martini too which was good as far as they go! Would be great to come back in summer and use the pool, also I’d like to try the restaurant right next to it which is the Italian restaurant (think it’s the same place but actually on the water)

Second time here. Suggest to make reservation if you’re in a big group, else walk in was smooth as well. Making reservation was a new experience for me, as I didn’t know we had to check the reservation chit on the table ourselves. We asked an employee for our reservation when we arrived, she looked a bit perplexed and confused at first, but eventually checked and pointed out the table for us once I explained I wasn’t familiar with the process. That’s then I discovered the reservation chit on the table :) Great winter vibes and tasty food, just a bit disappointed by the steak.

Great service!!! I loved the scenery and food but the service is what made me write this review. Super patience, charismatic and accomodating staff. Especially a devastating handsome man named Alex and the coolest bartender named Ruby. Pair this with a wholesome Morrocan soup and fun cocktails, it makes for a perfect night out with a small group of friends :)

Very disappointed with the food and service. My wife ordered chips and aioli because she has allergies and it was too hard to order anything else. You can take away items from a dish but you can’t add even a simple ingredient like sliced tomato. The chips were served in a paper bag in an enamel bowl. When she lifted the bag to tip the chips into the bowl it was rusty. My meal arrived 15 minutes after hers so we couldn’t eat together and the excuse was that all she ordered was chips…why should that matter? My fish was nice but the “salad” was half a lettuce, herbs and a tiny amount of dressing. I saw a review (complaint) from 3 months ago about the same thing and the manager said he’d look into this. I guess he doesn’t care what customers think. The chips were too salty, and I love salt. Another customer had 2 small greyhounds and one of the staff was patting them and letting them rub all over her apron, then went back to work, serving food and drinks without washing her hands.

Food and drinks were fantastic but I have a feeling something happened during the QR code ordering process because we had a very long wait for our charcuterie board which you would think wouldn’t take long to make. There were a lot of staff around thankfully so we were able to follow up on it. Otherwise everything was fine.

The location is on the north side of the river and you sit outside, directly next to a platform at Flinders Street station On the south side, you have marginal view of the Yarra River, as it's obscured by trees. You can order food either at the bar or use the QR code at your table. The trestle tables are outdoors. The stools at the table are screwed into the floor. There is chilled filtered water to the left of the bar. Other than the chicken parma all the other dishes were very disappointing considering the very high prices of each dish. Refer below. 1. The chicken burger was over cooked. 2. The steak was very thin and chewey and was covered with large pieces of salt. 3. The salmon salad was very plain and simple and something my 15yr old could of made. 5. The fish was also over cooked. 6. The double cheese burger was more like a 1.5 burger as the top patty was half the size of the bottom patty. Overall the experience wasn't the best especially as only 1 out of 7 dishes were of acceptable quality.

On one of our final days visiting Melbourne, we wanted to tried some wine bar dining. We heard great things about here and let’s say it didn’t disappoint! Both my fiancé and I had an amazing evening. From the food, which every dish was a standout. The service was very warm and welcoming. Wish I remember the name of our host, but he was very helpful with suggesting how many dishes we should order from the menu. The same could be said about the wine, where he had a great knowledge of the wine. The highlight dish for me was the tuna with radicchio, something I don’t see on menus usually. The Vonglole and chicken breast were cooked and seasoned to perfection. We hope to visit again when we come back down to Melbourne. Thanks for the great hospitality!

Absolutely no notes at all, this place was wildly good. Service was top notch. Warm and attentive but not at all overbearing. The atmosphere is perfect. Very intentional and refined on every level - the lighting, the decor, the art. Nothing feels like an accident in this place. Watching the kitchen staff work through the open kitchen window got me very excited for the food. They were serious and paying a great deal of attention to their craft but loose and relaxed at the same time. Now the food was some of the best I’ve ever had. We shared everything - the lamb which was cooked to perfection and flavoured at the same level. The savoury tart which was a dish we just couldn’t stop talking about all week. Soured cucumbers, bread and I can’t even remember what else but it was all 1000/10. Everything was covered in fresh herbs but not in a token garnish way, they were all very much a part of the dish. Every aspect of this meal wowed us and we were surprised at how low our bill was walking away. I would have paid more for this calibre of meal but the fact we didn’t, made it all the better. This place is a knockout in every way, do not skip it.

Been wanting to visit since I tried saison aperitifs years ago! Embla met all expectations and even more. Food so good we forgot to take better photos. Tart shell on that globe artichoke tart is soooo thin and crisp. Remarkable! Please order the vermouths too!!!

A Melbourne institution and I loved it. Had dinner and wine and it was all so delicious! 9/10 Chickpea whitlof 8/10 (probably best shared between 3-4) Feta and cucumbers 10/10 Scallop 7.5/10 -nice and flavoursome Bread is bread and it was truly delicious Trout 8/10 but paired with the butternut squash (as recommended) and it was a 9/10 The butternut squash is quite salty and savoury so I would try and pair it with something! Wine was so good and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly on recommending something that suits. I would HIGHLY recommend coming here!

Can’t go wrong, amazing food! Great relaxed ambience, service was amazin! Had the scallops, cucumbers, raw beef, fish. Loved every bit of it, was a bit apprehensive with the raw beef but was by far the best dish. Desert was excellent too. A must try. Excellent in every regards

Embla Wine Bar in Melbourne is effortlessly cool — a warm, intimate space with low lighting, laid-back tunes, and a vibe that invites you to sink in and stay awhile. The wine list is excellent, with a great selection by the glass showcasing interesting producers and styles. Every pour feels thoughtfully curated, and the friendly staff add to the relaxed charm. It’s the perfect spot for unwinding with friends or a solo glass at the bar. The only disappointment? It closes at 5 p.m. on Sundays — just when the chill session starts to hit its stride. Otherwise, near-perfect.

Got recommended this place and visited on our date night in August. We tried a few dishes, but unfortunately, the only one I remember is their duck liver parfait — which was actually quite good. The other dishes, however, weren’t particularly memorable. And as some other reviews have mentioned, their glass wine prices felt way too high considering the wines’ retail prices at liquor shops. It made us question whether it was really worth spending more to try additional dishes or wines, so we ended up not ordering more and wrapping up early.

Delicious beers, nice service, nice space. I love the Czech Pilsner and the birra rosso and especially the new hazy mango NEIPA. The steak night special was good too, and great value at $24.

We had our daughter's first birthday party at Stomping Ground recently and had such a blast! We chose it because of the delightful beer garden area which has a cubby house for the kids. But the food and service were impeccable as well. We ordered pizzas, garlic bread, charcuterie boards, and salads for everyone which were all super tasty, particularly the garlic bread and sausage pizza! And the staff were super helpful came cake time, providing serving plates, knife, lighter, etc. Overall would definitely recommend for a small kids party (we had around 18 people in total including kids) or a get together!

I went for dinner with friends (and all our pups!) and had such a lovely time that I went back a few days later for lunch. The mushroom sandwich with Swiss cheese, rocket, truffle aioli, and shoestring fries was delicious! The staff were so lovely and accommodating, even though it was quite busy. It’s a fantastic dog-friendly spot, but if you have pets or are sensitive to noise, it’s best to be seated away from the kids’ cubby area.

Very impressed. This place is a full package. Decent beer with a great range, but the food is top notch for a taproom. I've visited many and this taproom is one of the best. Refreshing to see healthy-ish options that are soo much better than burgers and fries.

Ended our date night with a cheeky bevy and meal here, my goodness is it beautiful in there. If your into that rustic look head into this place and check it out! Good vibe, great service and the food was chefs kiss 🤌 thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back.

Very impressed with Stomping Ground Brewery. Great space, plants, light, food! All their beers are made in house, with the aroma of warm barley in the air. An impressive 26 selections on tap. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in town again.

We've been here a mil times. They changed menus all the time but it always good 👏🏻👩‍🍳💋 trust their taste, just order anything looks good to you Especially kids n pets friendly. Dogs allowed inside n staffs love them! Lots of vegetarian, gluten-free opts. Chicken wings are soo good even when they change the recipe. Last time was buffalo, this time was ginger beer. Fries always crunchy, love the aioli too. The vibe is bit dark but cosy.

Tasty, generously sized Parma with crispy chunky chips, fish tacos encased in crispy tortillas were fab also. Lots of good vegetarian options on the menu. And super friendly staff to top it off. (If anything, would give a touch more marinara sauce with the Parma to keep things juicy and exciting :))

The food was amazing! And they cater for all tastes.....vegan food is awesome!! It was one of the best Mother's Days I've ever had...2 courses for $35. Lovely staff and a beautiful atmosphere . The decor is fantastic!

Very nice pub with the best staff. Happy our drinks are very cheap and their Parma is really good and big . Just tried lamb shank and it blew me away. Probably one of the best slow cook lamb I tried. I would also highly recommend grilled fish and chips. Sadly they no longer make fish plate:(

I had the Handmade Gnocchi for dinner and also some chips to share with my table. The gnocchi themselves were impressively light and fluffy, although a little on the big side, they probably could have been half their size. Unfortunately, I thought that the sauce was a bit odd, and the mushroom flavour did not really come through, it also had a flavour undertone that I've never really had with pasta - almost like a curry flavour. The chips were not the best: they were not crispy at all and didn't have any colour to them. The atmosphere was pretty good. The music wasn't too loud, but it started to ramp up later in the night. There were games to play while you were talking with friends, like scrabble and trivia etc. On the night I went, there were also some little stalls upstairs, where you could purchase things like jewellery and accessories.

Good range of tap beers and great range of bottle beers. Quality food. Friendly staff. Good interior with all kinds of different table options (low, high, small, big, quiet corner, central). Good music that isn't too loud. Whole stack of games to play.

The best thing I can say about this place is that it feels like home; warm, welcoming, cozy & friendly. Came here on a Tuesday night for $20 steaks and I was very satisfied; the T-bone steak is more on the thin side, but we’ll balanced with the delicious mushroom sauce. Excellent beers on offer, they have their own Fox lager on tap which I highly recommend. Love the decorations!

October 2023. This is a bloody good pub. The service is always friendly and welcoming. They have a good range of tap beers and bottled beers. Now the food is fantastic. I've eaten there a few times now, and I wish I lived closer, lol. On my last visit in October 2023, I had a Sunday roast beef 2 course special. This was so good. Everything was cooked to perfection. It was like an English roast. My partner had a vegetarian cottage pie w salad, n chips, and this was really good too, but I think my meal was a winner, haha. I was so full, but we had a dessert to share. Ice cream and waffle. How retro. This was absolutely delicious, a great homemade waffle, a not too sweet caramel sauce, and a creamy vanilla ice cream! A heavenly dessert. I eventually rolled out of there, so full, but for a $30 two course meal, this place is definitely worth travelling for!! I'll be back 😊 ------------------------------------------ This is a great pub. The food is excellent and the service is good. They sell over 100 beers, so if you like beer ... it amber heaven lol. W chunky pieces of meat n a great flavour, this was a winner. It's definitelyy worth a visit.

I live at this place, staff r lovely, good lighting nice and dim everything is good perfect the pizza is phenomenal and chips are on point would recommend the red fizzy drink over any alcohol. Good spot to walk if u live in the area would not drive to it from far away but I’m just lazy walking is easy. My family is sick of this place but I LOVE it! I feel the most at home here ❤️ no one judging you no haters (unless your a dick then get out. Music is always good that play a lot of nirvana and that is lovely 😻 and dogs are aloud in no leash it’s perfect 👌

Great vibes, keeping the good old charm. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of varied atmosphere here with indoors and outdoors. Pretty huge venue. A great pool table is a bonus. 😊🙌

I went to watch the footy, got myself a delicious Chicken Parma (it was an amazing one) my girlfriend ate a Eggplant Parma, service was amazing, the girls were very attentive, however, because there was a wedding celebration or something like that it was kind of annoying ordering at the bar, as people were on the way and push with their bodies the beer that I was gonna get. Anyways, at the end I could watch the second half of the game without any issue (the first half I ate the meal and watch the game in my phone on the rooftop) as the event finished when I came down for my second Guinness! Anyways, the Parma was huge and very VERY delicious, with a Guinness it was the best combo.

Great pub for a catch up with family or friends over a few drinks or a counter meal. We didn't eat here but enjoyed the rooftop area for a few drinks. Fun atmosphere and non pretentious.

The food is amazing now. The new chef has made a big difference. The pizza is amazing and you can eat it edge to edge. The lamb shanks are a sumptuous experience that you need to prepare for but well worth the effort. Chlps and gravy have always been a staple but now there is actually decent food in an excellent local pub. The atmosphere and service and milieu has always made this a top destination in Fitzroy but now the food actually matches the joint. Full points 😊

Visited this beautiful place to enjoy the daffodil show and try to support the community in my way. I would get some daffodil if I wasn't planning to stay out late. I got the enamel pin instead and wrote words of encouragement to all those who are battling cancer. I have lost people because of cancer so I am aware of the strength required, so every bit counts.

Went in November 2018 and took some breathtaking views from one of the top floors. Amazing building with modern spaces and offices, you can venture there anytime and take nice photos of Melbourne. If you love taking photos from top floors of buildings, then this one is a really good choice.

Unfortunately, this restaurant was not my favourite and I would not visit it again. The food was very average. However, there were some in our group who enjoyed a 4-5 course meal with each course being about 4 bites. I could not justify the price for what we got. But the Staff were very helpful and friendly. Above all, the view from the 54th floor was spectacular. We saw Melbourne by night all lit up. Wonderful.

Highly reminiscent of the Bradbury building in Los Angeles. The red brickwork alone in this place would be enough to give you a sense of warmth on the coldest Melbourne night.

The recent refurbishment of Rialto is very classy and stylish. Encapsulating the old with the new, multiple wings house a myriad of businesses across the 55+ levels. One of the great improvements is the ground-level coffee shops and eateries - a very welcome addition. It is also great to see, immediately off the Collins St walkway, The Reuniting Family, commissioned by the Grollo-Ruzenne Foundation to commemorate immigration to Australia.

I love this place!!! Everything about it is authentic, the regulars that turn up to show off their amazing vocals, the randoms that stumble in and have a go, the portly grumpy karaoke DJ that won't play your request, it's all there and happening. Even the bar staff are great singers! Great fun!! Will be back soon!!

Karaoke here was so fun!! Usually the crowds aren't that great but I've been so many times and can't get enough, unfortunately I don't live in Melbourne but Everytime I visit this place is a must for me and my friends!!

Asked my friend to leave even though they were having full convocation and looking after their friends but the bar manager said they were intoxicated and had to leave. Ignoring the other girls who were throwing up on themselves and making a mess of the dance floor. Bar manager is a young inexperienced, ridiculous hire who has no sense of what is going on around her and needs to figure out that the entire bushiness model revolves around people being able to buy drinks, have a fun night without being asked to leave when they are far more capable than most other people in the bar.

Please beware when pre-booking a function at this venue! We booked and prepaid for a hens function. When we arrived the bride was quite tipsy, but not disorderly. She was denied entry, hence the rest of the group did not go in. We were not refunded a cent and lost over $400. Disappointingly, a girl in line ahead of us was so drunk she fell over, however, she was allowed entry into the venue. Booking a function here is a gamble.

Seriously what is wrong with the chubster karaoke DJ. He only lets his favourites or regulars sing and chooses songs only he wants. Aren't the rest of the public buying the drinks and paying his wages? Does he think he is Simon Cowell or something? I thought everyone was supposed to have a good time instead of just him and his mates?

Went with a group of friends and we booked seats on the rooftop bar. We stayed in the rooftop most of the night and it was great. We enjoyed the look and music. REALLY ENJOYED THE DJs! The hit of the night was ***RUBY*** the bar tender. Her drinks were great and they were quick! Her effervescence added to it. The bad part of the night was the male bartender who kept on forgetting the orders and, when he finished them, they were on the skimpy side and they were not good (we all thought he didn't measure things right). And our group was not the only ones that noticed. TBH, we waited for Ruby. Overall was a good night. Note: I did hear the karaoke level and it was going well! The people in the lift with me looked like they enjoyed themselves immensely.

Amazing venue! Definetly not your posh melbourne bar! But heaps of fun!! Staff were really friendly... drinks were as expected... bar can get a bit full but not different to anywhere else... food was amazing!!! The cheeseburger dumplings are so good! Totally unexpected!! But the best is the vibe! The karaoke gets pumping later on and the rooftop DJs bring a nice atmosphere... Would highly recommend if you want to have a fun night out!!!

A nice cosy wine bar, whether you want a bottle of wine take away or a glass at the venue. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Not a huge place, but a big communal table in the middle and an outside area with heaters.

Cardwell Cellars is our go-to spot for finding the perfect wine for a special occasion or gift. Andrew’s knowledge of wines—and the stories behind each winery—is truly impressive. Every bottle he’s recommended has been nothing short of magnificent. Highly recommend!

Had the loveliest experience on Friday night. Randomly came in after dinner, had some of the best wine from some really exciting regions that we hadn’t experienced before and the best service from Morgan. Honestly a near perfect time.

Amazing wine selection, such a wide variety at a great value price. Warm personable and knowledgable service. Dropped in for a bottle to take away and stayed for the afternoon. Everything was beautiful and lovely.

Just spent a few hours in this cosy wine bar. Amazing selection of wines and wonderful to have such expert staff on hand to give recommendations. Totally loved the place and will definitely be back again. Can’t wait to try out the courtyard. If you love a glass of wine and like to try something different, this is the place to go to.

This is a sharp, well-curated shop carving out a much-needed space for Hungarian and Austrian wines in Melbourne. There's depth, structure, and a real understanding of the regions. Staff know their stuff but don’t overtalk it. I'll be in again soon.

I recently attended the "Bed By 10" event at The Emerson in South Yarra, and it was fantastic! As someone over 30, it was the perfect clubbing experience. The music was a great mix of 80s, 90s, and early 2000s hits, and the atmosphere was electric with amazing visuals and confetti showers. The best part? We were home by 10 PM, so no sacrificing the next day. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fun night out without the late-night hangover!

Josephine Rose was our bottle girl for the night but she was soooo much more! She looked out for me and my gfs drinks which was so important and I don’t think we would have had such a relaxed fun night without the trust we had in her. Not only that, she was fun, personable, and an all round legend. Definitely coming in and requesting her for our next booth!

Absolutely appalling experience with Stephanie – rude, dismissive, and clearly on a power trip. We came to this club on Saturday to celebrate a friend’s birthday, only to have our night completely derailed by Stephanie. From the moment she laid eyes on us, she decided she didn’t like us — without speaking a single word. We were joking around with one of the bouncers (who, by the way, was friendly and professional), and she immediately injected herself into the situation with hostility. She demanded to know whose list we were on and, when we gave her the name, she arrogantly claimed that the list "didn’t exist" — despite the fact that our friend was already inside and had a screenshot of communication with the club confirming the list with our names on it. It was clear she couldn’t turn us away based on our appearance or behavior, so instead she chose to lie. And when we calmly pushed back with the facts, she doubled down and got even more aggressive. We came ready to have a good time and spend money celebrating someone’s special day. Instead, we were met with unnecessary hostility, lies, and an inflated ego on a power trip. It’s truly unfortunate when one person’s attitude ruins what should have been a great night out. The venue seriously needs to reevaluate who they put at the front door to represent their brand — because this woman is bad for business.

do not go to this place!!!!!! the security guard at the front had turned us away for what we were wearing, telling us it “wasn’t good enough” “go back to wherever we came from and do better” “this can’t be your best go change” “you think that looks good?” etc. us and the group infront of us had the same experience and were humiliated infront of everyone around. online it claims that the dress code is “neat casual” and asks patrons to appear “clean and tidy” which is how we were dressed, so it would be nice to know why this happened to multiple people. their have also been many accounts of this security guard physically assaulting people so it would be interesting to know why the emerson still has him hired, we had also been there before with 0 issues getting in. once leaving the line and figuring out what to do next, we were also yelled at by other security guards to move on. this is terrible service and had 0 need to humiliate and degrade people, do better!!

*Got physically assaulted by security here* This place is litterally disgusting, I never write reviews for anywhere ever but i feel this needs a review so other young girls don’t have to deal with what I did on saturday night. Me, my boyfriend and a group of my friends showed up and lined up behind everyone else that was in line, shortly after we were stopped by this man ( which i have included a picture of) who said they were at capacity and would not be letting anybody else in tonight, which we understood and went out of the line and stood to the side to figure out our plans for the rest of the night. As we were doing that me and one of my girlfriends i was with saw a group of people that were behind us be let in straight away with no question, which we were confused about as he had just told my group that the venue was at capacity?? We then went over and tried asking the man what the reasoning behind not letting my group of friends in was, as I was about to do that, This man then shoves me violently multiple times, one by my shoulders and one by my lower neck. (I am legit a 19 year old girl and had not put my hands near him at all) Hard enough that I almost fall over and I also knock over my friend that was standing behind me. My friends all come over to defend/protect me (keep in mind not one of us had laid a hand on this man) I then walk away very upset. One of my male friends I was with then goes up to the other security guards that were standing out the front and let them know what had happened and requested that the man who pushed me apologised to me. They all denied him and said that if i had a problem i should just just call the police. There was one female security there that night (she’s an angel the only person at that venue that wanted to help me) who thought what the guy did was wrong and wanted to help us, but all the male security dismissed her and basically forced her to go away, so disgusting. Anyway I ended up calling the police and turns out there were two other girls that night who also called the police on the same guy, so clearly this man is totally comfortable assaulting young women.

I’ve never been treated so poorly at a club in my life. My partner was invited to a VIP Party at Club Astra. So we drove a long way, parked nearby, and were denied entry by security because we were “too casual” even seeing people going in, dressed casually. One of the door staff, who claimed he handles the club’s social media, told us to go home, change, and then come back. Absolutely ridiculous. When my partner politely offered a suggestion, he ignored her by re-tying his laces, and insisted “we could see on their Instagram that they all dress classy”, despite being no mention of a strict dress code anywhere online and he even mentioned its not a strict dress code which makes it inconsistent, and his attitude was unprofessional with low customer service. The security is overzealous, unprofessional, and made us feel discriminated for no reason. At the end of the day, customers want to enjoy their night, not to be insulted or treated unfairly. Clothes don’t define a guest—respect does. Furthermore, your music genres are the same as other clubs, yet other venues manage to treat their guests far better. Emerson needs to rethink how it treats people at the door.

My son and his friends go here often and love it, however 2 weeks ago him and his friend left their blazer jackets near the bar and it went missing. My son waited until 12 noon so they can let him in as his car keys were in his jacket. Even though he had a friend who is part owner was not allowed in to look for it. He had to wait until 5pm when the big boss opened but still he was not allowed in to find his and his friends jackets. The owner looked for it but couldn't find it, and said he would do a through check and let him know. But never rang or bothered about it. My son had to get keys done that night until 10pm which cost him $300

A nice hidden, ‘above-the-noise’ kind of cocktail bar. From the alleyway entrance, to the entrance way and stairs, to being greeted by our friendly server. We only stopped in for 1 drink each due to the hour of our arrival, but for our first time visit we both thought it was quite a nice place. The exposed wooden beams and general atmosphere and fit-out of the bar was quite subdued but comfortable. Brighter than most cocktail bars this size or style. The menu was interesting, a few stood out, but again due to time we just picked 2 that we thought would be different to what we had been having at other most recent bars. The drinks were tasty, well presented and balanced. Did they blow us away? I would say no, but the quality definitely suggested that had we stayed and tried a few other drinks on the menu we may have had a better idea of what the mixologists were capable of. This is somewhere we will have to re-visit and update this review. But for our brief visit and quick drinks it was still a pleasant experience and would still say it is worth visiting to see for yourself if you are in the area (they take walk-ins).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We went to Black Pearl Bar for my partner’s birthday and wow, it was absolutely top notch in every aspect! From the amazing vibe and atmosphere to the outstanding service and the huge variety of drinks and cocktails, everything was perfect. All the staff were so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely great people. We went as a big group and had such a fun night together! This place has officially become our go-to bar from now on, 10/10, no words can describe how good it is. Highly recommended! 🍸✨

First off, every Friday or Saturday there is a bar upstairs called The Attic where you’ll find some of the most well crafted cocktails in Melbourne with an incredible atmosphere to boot. The music, vibes, and bartenders will have you sat the bar for hours talking about the heart that went into their recipes. I did my rounds hitting all the top recommended bars in Melbourne and this was easily one of my favorites. Pictured here is “The Revolver” which was a wonderful chocalatey cognac type drink paired with chunks of dark chocolate to compliment the sip. If you’re a fan of the craft you MUST come here.

Came up from geelong for a Melbourne night out and this place did not disappoint. Food drinks and service was absolutely beautiful and staff made sure we had drinks and a good time! Highly recommend

Went to The Black Pearl with a friend last night and had such a lovely time in their upstairs cocktail bar! Axel and Dan in particular were so kind and welcoming, we had a great chat (even learnt a bit about molasses!) and Axel made up a cocktail just for us (based off a creative brief), which I thought was really cool (especially because it was 10/10). The service was so refreshing, and the whole atmosphere was inviting. Can’t wait to come back!

Empty on a Sunday night Drinks 6/10 Recommendation: - Funky looking menu with pictures. Small menu with only couple signature drinks, which are all a bit too simple for my taste. The presentation reminds me more of a lounge than a high end cocktail bar. Pre-mixed martini in a bottle might be efficient but does not contribute to any sort of cocktail bar feeling I’m looking for. Coasters are nice. Service 7.5/10 Super friendly bartenders and water served immediately. Prices are about average for melbourne

Walked in from off the street with a recommendation. Not expecting to have the best night. Staff on tonight - Marnie, Axel and Michael, had us wanting more and kept us so happy. Highly recommend ♥️♥️♥️
