One thing is no visiting the place my fave part were the art pieces and playground in edible zoo. Additionally next level thing is reading about the family, innovation and rewards. Is it so inspiring! Must visit, if you need some courage that everything is possible.
Zotter Chocolate Factory is a fantastic and exciting place to visit. The tour is beautifully designed, allowing you to walk through the factory and see every step of the chocolate-making process. The highlight is, of course, the unlimited tasting – you can try as many types and flavors of chocolate as you like, and it feels like a dream for any chocolate lover. While the price may seem high at first, you can easily spend several hours here, and the ticket also includes access to the small zoo and outdoor areas, making it a fun and relaxing day. A wonderful program for families and chocolate fans alike.
We, two adults, really enjoyed everything. We spent as long as we wanted inside the factory and sampled an incredible amount of excellent chocolate, including seeing the chocolate-making process. The entire tour was well-designed and stylish, with excellent views of the edible zoo, which is also beautiful. The large, well-maintained grounds are a pleasure to explore for both children and adults. I would have liked to have been able to buy coffee during the tour; that would have made tasting the chocolate even more enjoyable. The company store offers a delightful variety and a fantastic selection of gift sweets. We'll definitely be back.
An amazing experience. We visited during Lange Nacht der Museen(get ready to wait during the day) but totally worth during normal days too. There are insanely many chocolates to taste. From cocoa beans from different countries to dipped fruits, different stirring times to percentages. Impossible to try all the chocolates.
An absolutely amazing experience. It's located in a wonderful part of Austria. I highly recommend it to everyone - both kids and adults alike. We spent 3 hours just in the factory, and afterwards it was great to have something savory to eat outside. 😃 You can tase an unbelievable amount of delicous cohocolate. Afterwards, you can also stock up on your favorites in the shop. Most importanly, you can truly feel that this family-run-business is made with their heart and soul. I WISH EVERYONE COULD EXPERIENCE WHAT REAL BEAN-TO-BAR CHOCOLATE IS LIKE. 🤎 Vielen Dank!🍫
The chocolate factory proved to be a fantastic destination for adults, though it was a bit challenging with our group of six children across two families. The tour starts strong with a very informative video that expertly explains the entire chocolate-making process, which the grown-ups thoroughly enjoyed. The true highlight is the factory tour's tasting experience: they claim to offer over 300 different samples, and while I gave it my best shot, it's safe to say no one can taste them all! The venue thoughtfully includes a pleasant "zoo" area with a few animals at the end, providing a nice space for kids to run around.
It is recommended to buy tickets in advance for faster entry. You can taste an incredible amount of chocolate (around 300 (!)), it is worth eating a little bit of everything because it can be too much by the end. 😅 I recommend it to everyone, it's worth the price!
A must visit, amazing guidance and tastings that will make you unable to stop eating the amazing variety of chocolates there. It is recommended to take a trip to the sculpture garden and see the animals.

A superb castle overlooking the area. When it comes into view while turning the corner, there's nothing left but to do but to admire it. Worth visiting and enjoying the views from the top.
A castle with a small but fancy museum. The view from the top is astonishing, and the view from the valley isn't bad either. Still, I think it's a bit overpriced and could be much more fun if they hosted a medieval siege cosplay festival.
Riegersburg Castle commands a dramatic presence atop a 482 meter high extinct volcanic peak in southeastern Styria, Austria. The castle’s location is not only visually striking-rising above the rolling countryside and vineyards-but also historically strategic. Built originally in the 12th century, its elevated position provided a formidable defensive advantage during centuries of regional conflict, especially when the border with the Ottoman Empire was just a short distance away. The panoramic views from the castle stretch across the Styrian landscape and were as valuable for surveillance and protection as they are today for visitors seeking breathtaking scenery. The castle itself has evolved over the centuries, shaped by the ambitions and resources of its various owners. While its earliest foundations date back to the medieval period, Riegersburg’s most significant expansion occurred in the 17th century under the stewardship of Baroness Katharina Elisabeth von Wechsler, a remarkable woman who transformed the fortress into one of Austria’s largest and most resilient. The result is a sprawling complex with 108 rooms, multiple gates, and thick defensive walls, all constructed using the volcanic basalt of the hill. Today, the castle is owned by the Princely Family of Liechtenstein, who have taken care to preserve its historic character while making it accessible to the public. Access to the castle is an experience in itself. Visitors can choose to hike up a winding footpath through the vineyards or take a modern lift for a quicker ascent. The approach sets the tone for the visit, offering glimpses of the imposing walls and towers that have stood for centuries. Once inside, the castle’s museum presents a rich tapestry of local history and culture, including exhibitions on the infamous Styrian witch trials and the influential women who shaped the castle’s destiny. The surrounding village and castle tavern further enhance the visit, providing opportunities to sample regional cuisine and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. Riegersburg Castle’s location is both its greatest asset and its defining feature. It stands as a testament to the region’s turbulent past, its architectural grandeur harmonizing with the natural beauty of the volcanic landscape. Whether viewed from afar or explored up close, the castle offers a unique blend of history, legend, and scenic splendor that makes it a must-visit destination in Austria.
Riegersburg Castle is a majestic medieval fortress located in Styria, Austria, perched dramatically on a volcanic rock above the surrounding countryside. Built in the 12th century and expanded over time, it served as a stronghold against invasions, especially during the Ottoman wars. Today, the castle offers breathtaking views, fascinating museums, and exhibitions on witches, weapons, and noble life. Its rich history, scenic location, and well-preserved architecture make it one of Austria’s most impressive and popular castles.
Great experience , we spend a lovely half of day visiting the surrounding and the interior of the castle.
Great castle. Especially when you park in the vilage and hike it up. In upper part is road cutted into the vulcanic monolitic walls. When it is too hot, you can swim in the artificial lake in the vilage below - where we parked our car.
There is a huge parking place at the back of the castle from where you can take the cable car to the rock. It costs 7.5eurs. The panoramic view is spectacular. There is a restaurant where you can eat or drink various stuff. Additional entrance fee has to be paid to get in the inner castle.
The cable car takes you to the top, the bird sanctuary makes a great show flying birds of prey (falcons, owls, eagles, crows) unfortunately only in German language thus a great deal of interesting facts and stories is lost to non German speaking. The inside if the castle is accessible for additional high fee. Still, it's a great experience.

The tour was amazing. Starts with a short movie about how the company started years ago. Then the tour shows how schnaps and vinegars are made. The tasting was great I don't know how many vinegar options they have, there were really interesting tastes. After the vinegar, we tasted 4 kinds of schnaps. All their products can be found in the shop.
Really nice concept, architecture and outstanding products. But no soul, no personal touch in the visit. Feels like coffee to go.
We went there for the shop to buy some vinegars and liquors. There's lots of parking space, the building is new and has an elevator and the shop looks modern and appealing. The items on offer are presented in a clear way and you were able to sample the different vinegars before purchasing. Upon inquiry, we were also given samples for the liquors. I have been a customer of Gölles for decades and it was nice to finally get to see their impressive vinegar palace, so to speak.
We visited Gölles during Lange Nacht der Museen. Absolutely recomended! You must try the asparagus vinegar, which was our favourite.
Fantastic brands, kernoil, olive, vinegair. Verry friendly. Thank you !
Very nice, you can walk around at your own pace and check out all the barrels. Then go back to the shop and taste all the vinegar and jellies.
Austria’s first address for fine spirits.
A unique experience. I would not have thought I would have enjoyed tasting vinegar samples as much as I did. They were delicious.

I did the guided visit and tasted their cheeses. Everything is wonderful. I went back home with a bag full of cheeses :)
A local place that a friend recommended and was great. Unlike typical wine tastings, this was cheese tasting with paired wines. And opened on Sunday!
artisanal fine cheese manufacturer. Nice view of riegersburg Castle. take the tour and go for the käseverkostung. very friendly staff and super-knowledgeable owner who lived and worked in Switzerland for a while. a few of the cheeses are definitely inspired by the glarus stay.
Located close to the gorgeous Riegersburg castle, this hidden gem is a place nobody should pass by without a visit. In an area known for culinary delights, it stands out. The only problem is that you will spend a hefty portion of your holiday budget, because you'll want to try everything. The cheeses are fantastic, and the service is friendly and helpful. They also stock a nice selection of local wines. We will definetly be returning.
Cheese and vine is really good. But! I really didn’t understand the service. Guys, with a such an ugly service model you are loosing your potential customers. Guided tours - completely mess and it doesn’t match the site description and is overpriced. Stuff must be patient, screaming at the customers is prohibited.
Very nice tiny cheese store. Worth the trip if you can find it.
Amazing local cheeses. Great quality and great surrounding
Yummi bio cheeses and very special flavors.

Perhaps not a real zoo, this is the chocolate factory's garden or park, but in spite of the masses it was rather calm and "close-to-nature" felling. Nicely built, excellent food, a must-try.
It’s an unforgettable experience! The bird of prey show is both educational and thrilling, with majestic eagles, falcons, and owls flying impressively close. The trainers are passionate and knowledgeable, making the whole presentation engaging for all ages. The stunning backdrop of Riegersburg Castle adds to the magic. A perfect stop for families, couples, or anyone who appreciates wildlife and beautiful scenery!
Very beautiful, worth seeing
Professional and friendly staff. Loved the introduction of the birds! Thanks for this opportunity!
Amazing and very informative show. I like that you get a lot of background information about the various types of birds of prey they present while you come rather close to some of them as they fly pretty low. Also there is a heart-warming story behind almost all of their birds.
Perfect place with a wild big birds show.
Cool to visit! And the Eagle show is awesome!
Enjoyed a great show with professional performers.

In support of reality you get 5 stars from me ... I will not follow this hatred heated up debate by following the mob in pushing down your rating!
With love, from Romania! hope you will die in pain!
(Translated by Google) The pride of Romania, a gift of creation, the magnificent brown bear Arthur, not a problem bear according to media reports at home and abroad (Japan, Australia, USA, Europe and Austria from May 5th to 12th, 2021) was presumably by Mr. Dr. E. (from u. to) Liechtenstein, the owner of the Riegersburg, shot. Without specific permission from the Romanian authorities?! The Romanian Public Prosecutor's Office and even the EU COMMISSION are investigating. Was that animal murder?! €7000 is said to have gone into it! How do the Romanian people feel when their great national pride, Arthur the bear, is shot? Probably humiliated. Unfortunately, this promotes hatred. Austria's reputation is damaged. I or we will never leave a cent either in the Riegersburg district or on the Riegersburg itself. Lifelong. Lebenslang.

During a varied team tournament, which culminated in archery, we not only had a lot of laughs but also gained valuable insights about ourselves and our team. The challenges were creative and challenging, but at the same time designed so that everyone could participate – regardless of previous knowledge or fitness level. It was particularly rewarding to see how even colleagues who had never climbed before mastered the challenge on the climbing wall with flying colors – and were proud of themselves afterward. These kinds of experiences noticeably strengthened our team spirit. The support from the Naturbursch team was consistently professional, warm, and attentive. The relaxed lunch break around the campfire also created a great atmosphere. Overall, it was a thoroughly successful day that we can wholeheartedly recommend. Thank you for this special experience!
