We had an amazing experience right from the beginning. From grape harvesting to wine tasting, delicious Georgian bread making. And grape pressing , the team over there very friendly and kind. It’s a huge cave wine cellar , I believe that they got over 5000 bottle of wines. We bought about 10 bottles of great selection of wine.
Very nice, good wine selection, you can’t enter without tour guide, even thou tour guide doesn’t give a lot of info, just basic about this place and it leasts 5-10 min, but overall very happy with this place
totally tourist place not so old as well just promoting business to tourists. I didn't got the winery vibes better to visit other local winery. This one is expensive as well. not worthy.
Take a tour including wine tasting. It is very interesting even if you are experienced in wine-making, because the traditional Georgian way is very special. Our guide was so friendly that I have to buy some samples of special dry red wine, not cheap.
I visited Khareba winery. It's a network of tunnels spanning 8 kilometers where wine is stored. I recommend taking a tour with a tasting to immerse yourself in the culture and history of winemaking in Georgia. Our excellent guide, Alex, made the experience even more enjoyable. It's chilly in the tunnels, so be sure to grab one of the free blankets provided at the entrance.
That's quite a unique place: a wine cellar in an artificial tunnel. The temperature in the tunnel is almost stable during the year so it always feels comfortable to take a guided tour where you will hear some interesting facts about winemaking. Wine degustation is another service that you can get there and you will taste several kinds of Georgian wine, cheese, bread, and grapeseed oil produced by this company. The staff and the guides are very friendly and cheerful.
Not so great... Hospitality was not good. In the restaurant felt like we are not welcomed. They focused on some group that was arriving and forgot to treat the other customers nicely. Wines were not so tasty and the portions in the wine tasty were very small.
Great tour of the cave and wine tasting experience. This stood out among the wine experiences we’ve had in a short trip to Kakheti given the offerings and uniqueness of the cave itself, as well as the beautiful surroundings.

A spiritual and beautiful monastery. Our favorite we visited. On a hot day, the hike up was steep and difficult, would recommend the shuttle in the sun, but glad we did it as it's part of the experience. Note you cannot drive up. The view at the top is surreal, the monastery itself has a special feel. And look for the fire temple-- so cool! Definitely come!
Nekresi Monastery is a place with the most stunning view, especially at sunset. It’s located in the mountains and offers a breathtaking panorama of the valley below. You can hear the birds singing, and there’s such a wonderful sense of peace and tranquility. Truly a magical and unforgettable place to visit!
Beautiful yet elegant. I was enchanted by its scenic view and the story this place held. Amazing tradition and rich in cultural value . A must visit if you are in town
Nekresi (Georgian: ნეკრესი) is a historic and archaeological site in eastern Georgian region of Kakheti, between the town of Kvareli and the village of Shilda, at the foothills of the Greater Caucasus mountains. It is home to the still-functioning Nekresi monastery, founded in the 6th century.
I really liked the monastery. We went up by bus, spent 30 minutes there, decided to go down on foot, since the bus is quite old and scared us a little. The slopes and turns are quite serious.
old monastery complex, beautiful place! moderate lifting, 30-40 minutes, better by transport
The views are nice. The people are terrible!! Ignore all the people that work at the monastery and just take in the scenery!
Don't take the shuttle bus to go up to the Monastery, if your physical condition allows. Walking up to the Monastery is an experience itself. You can walk at your own pace and enjoy amazing views. The Monastery complex is well preserved. I particularly liked the exhibits in the museum.

My visit to Graneli Winery in July 2021 was truly remarkable. The staff provided a wonderful insight into their winemaking process, shedding light on the dedication and care that goes into each bottle. The wine tasting was an absolute delight, with their offerings leaving a lasting impression. I ended up purchasing a substantial amount of wine to savor later, a testament to the high quality of their products. The team at Graneli Winery was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly welcoming, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. This winery is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts looking for both an educational and delightful experience.
Not recommended, there are many better places. We had the tasting and were in a rush as there was barely one minute between the wines. On top of that they regularly left someone unserved and the wines were warm on a hot day. The chacha and cognac tasted like turpentine. They don't really speak English.
We ended up here by accident looking for the wine cave, but it provided an excellent experience. A tour through the factory showing both European and Georgian winemaking techniques. We then had a degustation of maybe 12 wines and cha-cha, with some Georgian cheese similar to feta. This was 30 GEL pp, great value, or you can buy a wine after and with no charge for degustation. A very good experience and very friendly team. My one recommendation would be to serve the white wine, then red wine during degustation, as it gets confusing to go between red and white. On the paper also would be good to note which are red and white.
We were lured here when trying to visit the wine cave and we did a tasting. While the wines were alright, the service wasn't that great and the waiter didn't really understand english (like the term "water please" ). She also didn't serve some of our group with wine at all sometimes. We had already visited two other wineries by this point and this was a step down compared to them. + 1 star for the cats though
Overpriced, don’t recommend. Guided there unfortunately don’t speak English really well. While our guide really made an effort, the tour was super short and not really informative. The tasting covers 10 wines which is good but for the price of 30 GEL pp (either pay or buy a wine) it is too much to other offers in the market. (Great tour with 4 wines at Kindzmarauli for 8 GEL// 8 wines with bread and cheese and extensive explanations at Cradle of wine Mariani).
I visited this winery in June 2018. The staff here is very hospitable. Location of the winery is very picturesque. I recommend the wine tasting here: you will be offered a set of 10 local wines accompanied by cheese. Afterwards you can buy the wines you liked in the shop at the entrance to the winery.
Very good place to taste local wines produced in these regions. Owner told me how they produced these wines. It was such a good experince for me. Prices are not expensive. Thank you🍷👌🏻
The wine tasting was incredible, however, the wine we bought was not the wine we tasted, but one of very low quality. The labels are even made of repurposed trash.

Grand 16th-century church & castle complex with a museum in its bell tower & scenic views.

A fortress with a monastery, you can climb up an old stone ladder to observe the surroundings (costs 10 GEL). There is a museum in the fortress and at the foot of the fortress (2 halls, one with fortress and king-related artefacts, the second one with the region-related objects and historical notes), a shop, a restaurant (currently closed), baths (closed). You can walk in the park and enjoy the stunning views
It's located in the outskirts of Khakheti region. There is ongoing renovation works happening. You have a steep climb through stairs from the car park. At the top is a museum and church. Gremi Church of the Archangel, is an excellent display of Georgian architecture and was built between 1565-1577, during the reign of King Levan of Kakheti. You can see his picture painted inside the museum.
A nice old monastery. We were on the wedding ceremony which was very nice. Nice view from the top. A lot of stairs to walk.
Really pretty frescos inside the imposing church built inside a fortress. The museum costs 10 lari per adult and probably not so worth it.
Amazing place, very old and oroginal, small fee for a museum and access into the tower, is well wirth it. There was a service when we were there and it was a wonderful experience Staff were friendly. Parking is available from a side road with a tunnel under the road to reach the entrance. no crowd only a 2 tourists other persons were locals going to church. It was a great experience with local people
Beautiful monastery at the top of a small hill protected by high walls, very few visitors due to its location. There's a small museum inside (10 gel to climb the tower but unfortunately not to the very top, worth the visit though
There was a little climb up the hill to where the church was located. It was not strenuous. There were many ceremonies going on at the church such as baptism and wedding solemnization at the time of visit. Not a lot to see at the museum but the climb up the narrow stairs to get a panoramic view of the surrounding was pleasant
Place was under construction when we went, from what we saw it should be a lot prettier when the construction is finished. The place is very accessible if you can use stairs, gift shop is weirdly priced but you'll probably find something to your liking. The museum doesn't have a lot of things, but the building itself is the main attraction, and is definitely worth it for what we paid (10 GEL).

We dropped into this place during a very long hike and found it hard to leave. The ground are beautiful and the semi sweat wine is the best we've had in Georgia.... And we've had a lot ;)
Amazing wine and even more amazing people ❤️🙏
We visited for a wine tasting and we were not disappointed. They have very good wines. Their cha cha is not for the fainthearted, but feel free to have some.
Quiet place not much life within the premises..the tasting of 3 varieties of wines unremarkable...some small snack between the different wines would have ensured better appreciation of all 3 varieties and some sales would have ensued ...
They have the finest set of wines which you will enjoy
best wine in Georgia, very hospitality owners, food was very delicious
The best Georgian wine🍷🍷 Big Thanks to Giga Mirianashvili 👏🏻👏🏻

We had the most amazing time at Ikano Estate! When we arrived we were told that they were closed for the day after a large event the night before, but they were gracious enough to let us in for a quick tasting. Mariami did our wine tasting and she was very kind and knowledgeable. You could tell she really had a passion for what she was doing. After tasting five incredible wines while taking in the stunning mountain/ vineyard views, Mariami offered to show us the process of how they make their wine. We both really appreciated getting a “behind the scenes” experience. Overall this is a must see winery in the region! The building and views themselves are amazing, but the staff and tasty selection of wines make it all the more special.
We had such an amazing experience here. CEO Irakli took us on a tour of the wine cellar and of course tasted a variety of their beautiful wine. Such wonderful hospitality! Tasted some of their Decanter award winning wines - and now I know why! Wow. Highly recommend! Thanks Irakli and such a pleasure meeting all your amazing dogs too!!
Great wine, we went for a tasting it and was excellent, the guy showed us some excellent wines.
Best place for all kinds of events. Everything was amazing nature, environment, food and wine. Saperavi is my favourite. The Hosts were very friendly and hospitable. I will come back here with great pleasure. Highly recommended.
Excellent service, friendly stuff, tastiest food! They made my birthday very special, you’ll feel like its your home. Great wine, cheese and views. What else do you need for happiness?:))) Special thanks to stuff - they are best of the best!
We've had such a beautiful there! The staff of Nelkarisi Estate helped me organise a surprise for two loving hearts - with qvevri opening, romantic songs from a folk ensemble and a vegan lunch (in Kakheti it is almost impossible, but seems like professionalism is the second name of this crew :))
Beautiful modern estate with centuries of history. Wonderful people and the wine tasting was truly amazing. The best vista in the valley.
Very good premium Sapperavi. Extremely professional wine making, both traditional and modern methods. Fancy and super modern/hipstery looking establishment with winery, restaurant and hotel. The wine estate has new management and is switching name to Nelkarisi Estate. Would highly recommend a visit

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this vineyard! The homemade dinner was delicious and truly authentic. We enjoyed unlimited red and white wine. We also got an interesting tour that showcased the history of the vineyard and taught us how they make Georgian wines. Highly recommend this place!!
A homestyle winery with a warm and cozy atmosphere, delicious authentic Georgian food, and welcoming hosts with their family. In September, you can experience grape picking and stomping, and gain a deeper understanding of the traditional Georgian winemaking process. My group and I absolutely loved it! Highly recommended!
Positives: 1. The garden was really pretty, fruits and flowers everywhere in full blossom. 2. The grandmother was absolutely the sweetest. Just loved her! 3. Food was also great. Cons (bad experience): 1. We are not heavy drinkers, especially my mom who is 60+. We’ll enjoy a drink or two max. We were shamed by the grandfather and pressured to drink. He was trying his best to just entertain but the mocking was unacceptable. Not everyone can or likes to drink as much he does. He kept saying “Indians this Indians that…” just cuz we didn’t drink much. Made us feel very uncomfortable. 2. The young man was very rude and made no effort to even have a basic conversation, let alone smile. 3. No one also understands english so very hard to communicate. I got bit on the foot by something in the garden and they weren’t able to understand as I asked for help. 4. Don’t go by the website and Insta page. There was no other activities besides the lunch and drinks. We weren’t even shown the wineyard, despite having messaged them in advance wishing to see it. They just pointed to it and it was too overgrown to walk in. Maybe they do it only for big groups. That day it was just my mum & I and one another couple. We were recommended by our travel company to visit Khareba winery but we wanted to see a family run one instead of a commercialised winery. In hindsight, we regret going with Wineyard N1. Update: Also don't go by their response here. Over whatsapp 👇🏽
An amazing experience. Warm hosts and great hospitality. Definitely worth a visit. Great how to see how the wine is made by hand. Harvesting is in September. Go then if you really want to full experience. Highly recommend. Xxx.
I didn't stay here but I wanted for grape picking and dinner aka supra. The food and wine was delicious. It's a family owned winery that's 4 generations old. A great afternoon and evening.
We had such a lovely afternoon here celebrating Rtveli with Tika and her family! We picked grapes, made churchkhela, and stomped on the grapes. We then had a homemade Georgian feast with the family produced wines and chacha. There was also some traditional dancing which we were lucky to see! I can’t recommend enough for anyone wanting to visit the Kakheti region and have an authentic experience of traditional wine making and food. We will be back one day!!!
Words can’t describe, what a wonderful experience! A huge thank you to Maka and her family for welcoming us so warmly into their home. Everything was absolutely perfect - from the delicious food, to the fantastic wine and the tour itself which was interesting without being overwhelming. We got all the details in advance through WhatsApp, and they were so accommodating, even fitting us in on the same day despite already hosting other groups. Maka, her sister, and mother were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and caring - it truly made the whole day unforgettable! I can only wish others have the opportunity to have this experience as well. Thank you again ❤️
We had a really delicious lunch here, the food was beautifully cooked and family very kind. We were just upset to be overcharged. We thought the price seemed very high for just food, I questioned it and said that the price was too much, but the son did not budge even after calling someone else to make sure my question was properly understood. It was confirmed when we asked the people who were eating and doing a wine tasting next to us (we were not doing wine tasting), that they were charged that same price. There is a possibility that this was a mistake. But after questioning this and still being told the same thing, it didn’t sit right and certainly impacted our experience.

What a wonderful experience we had here! ❤️ we decided to plan our wedding at Chubini and it was the best decision ever. From the very first moment they were super helpful, super attentive and helped with absolutely everything. They remembered everything we wanted and made our day so memorable. No place will offer you so much comfort and so much help as they do. I can’t thank you guys enough: the food was perfect, very tasty and delicious; so was the service and the people working there who made sure we wouldn’t lack anything during the dinner. The owners are just the loveliest people ever, they were there during the whole process and everything was just like we wanted. We definitely recommend it to anyone, you won’t regret! ❤️
Lika was an excellent host, took really good care of us, helped us with local recommendations and local transport, and even made a specific dish for dinner we requested. We had a great time. The showers in the cabins are good quality. Love that they are a dog-friendly place as well. Really recommend this family-run place.
They go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The cabins are brand new with comfy beds, good pressure showers and all amenities needed. The food they had for dinner and breakfast was very delicious and flavorful. Their wine tasting experience is also very nice and shows the great deal of dedication they put in this project.
Beautiful place with beautiful people. We only stayed overnight and enjoyed every moment of it - elegant cabins, comfy beds, clean shower, yammi dinner and exemption al wine, all created by young dedicated couple, who made our stay memorable ♥️
very good experience.they provide 7-8 kind of dishies and cost is only 70 gel.super friendly and hospitable atmosphere. love it❤️ And what is most important they have amazing qvevri wine (advice from georgian man)🇬🇪
We had a lovely time at Chubini Winery. The service struck the perfect balance between professional and personal, we felt welcomed and looked after without it ever feeling forced. The wine was excellent and the food, while simple, was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. There's a quiet charm to the whole place that makes you slow down and appreciate not just the wine and food but the people and cute companions behind it too. Wishing them all the best, they deserve it.
Place was very cozy and beautiful. We found cabin comfortable and clean with all necessities .Staff were very friendly and polite, always ready to assist. We tried their local wine, which is a ‘must try’
It's rare to find everything in one place and I honestly couldn't praise enough the attention we were given by Lika and the staff of Chubini winery & Cabins! It was a long time that I had spotted this gem and that I wanted to go, and I will probably wait a long time to return. I wish we have had more time to enjoy it: - the cabins are really comfortable and the view over the Caucasus is gorgeous from Kakheti region - the passion that Lika and her husband have for their land, the traditions and the wine making in qvevri, is beyond what I could ever imagine and we honestly were blown away by the level of knowledge in such a small amount of years in being established. - the location is great, in the northern bank of the Alazani river, the wines are unlike the rest of Kakheti. - the food is delicious and generous, honestly, we came back with a few kilos more after our Georgian trip! - be prepared for Chacha! It's the local grappa and it's always served to bound with the locals. Didi Madloba for such a great stay and wonderful memories that we will cherish forever!
