Another great day out, there was plenty to see and do. All the animals looked well cared for and fed. It was amazing how close you felt you were to some of animals. Including the lions and the sun bear. The glass so clean it was like it wasn't there. The shops were responsibly priced and depending on your budget they had plenty to choose from. The food was nice and was a generous portion. Overall we had an amazing day would I would happily return.
The road to the zoo is a bit narrow and winding, and driving with the steering wheel on the opposite side made it even more unusual. This is a truly small family-oriented zoo with an interesting selection of animals. Everything was clean and well maintained, and we enjoyed the visit. I was especially excited to see capybaras and meerkats. Personally, it was also fascinating to observe the visitors — many families with two or more children. The food was decent, but because of the strong wind and too many wasps outside, the experience was mixed. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a day with family.
Visited for my daughter’s birthday and it was great all round. The entire place is very well designed and in good condition. We tried food at a few of the outlets and all were good quality tasting food - not amazing but not the typical greasy nonsense you get. It’s good that you can walk around each area multiple times and in different directions so you really feel like you get the most out of your ticket. Price wise was good, about average and like I said there is plenty to do when inside. All the animals we saw looked happy, no concerns there.
A brilliant zoo, I would say one of the best we have visited. It was busy but we didn't feel it, its nicely spread out so you never feel crowded, it was also very clean and tidy. The staff were fantastic, even when doing something they were happy to answer questions on animals, they were all happy, friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. The animals all seemed happy and healthy with a lovely variety. As with all zoos it would be nice to see them with more space. The food was of excellent quality and reasonably priced. Nice to have the mix of animals, the dino trail and parks too. It is 3.5hours away from us but worth every minute in the car. Would 100% recommend
Great zoo, loved the red panda experience, keeper was very friendly and informative in answering any questions I had. Loved getting to see the two red pandas being introduced to each other. Got good views of the animals, some of the viewing windows were quite wet with condensation which blocked views but not much to be done about that. Lots of kids so was quite noisy but think I came in the school holidays. Only negative was one of the jaguars was pacing around a lot in its enclosure, hopefully it was just waiting for food or something like that and not stressed. Got Uber easily to/from the train station. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
A really good day out. I went with my sister and my two teenagers and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day. The theming, informative signs, viewing areas/platforms and eateries were very good. Of course the wonderful animals were the highlight and I can recommend attending the bird show! At the end of the day we even had a train ride around the dinosaur area for £2 each, which ended the day nicely.
A family favourite. My son was two when we went and he loved the dinosaurs section even though I was worried he was too young, there are some bits that are slightly gruesomely but you can quickly go past them. It’s good fun and you can then go to the zoo and look at the animals. It’s very well organised and clean. Limited option for food and as with any of these venues, it’s overpriced for the quality you get.
Hertfordshire Zoo is a fantastic family-friendly destination with a great variety of animals and interactive zones. The enclosures are well maintained , highlights include the lions, camels, and alpacas, all easy to view up close. The “World of Animals” and “Tumble Jungle” soft play area add extra fun for kids, with clearly scheduled play sessions. The zoo is clean, well signposted, and offers a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. A perfect day out for families with young children!

Today myself & my wife were completely stuck on what to do for my birthday! We were recommended Lee Valley Boat Centre on a Facebook group. I'm so pleased we decided to go <3 Parking was easy & just over the road, FREE TOO!! Staff were helpful, polite and chatty! We were able to get straight on our boat and I absolutely adored my Birthday boat trip. This was a new experience for us and something I'm so proud that we did! My wife was boat captain & tried her best, we had such a giggle and thoroughly enjoyed our hour trip. Beautiful houses along the way & generally a beautiful trip out. Highly recommended as a date idea, family trip out or something off the bucket list. Thank you for making my birthday special
We hired a boat on Sunday, 4th of May, for a leisurely cruise up the river. There were 7 of us in our group. The guys at L.V.B.C. were great, well organised, and everything was explained to us to keep us safe. We took a well packed hamper with us, but you can travel light as there's two pubs to moor up at if you head upstream so you won't go hungry. The weather was OK, which does make the day even better . We would highly recommend this as a day out, and we will definitely be doing it again. Thanks again to L.V.B C. crew. See you soon 👍
Such a great day out. We hired a day boat (Mr Toad - 8 person) with some friends and 2 doggies. :) - 2 pets allowed - one included in the price and the extra is an extra £5. The very friendly staff are very thorough with their safety and boat handling instructions and they send you videos before your day as well so you can be more prepared if you don't have boating experience. I believe you can hire a skipper to join you for the day if you are very uncertain of boat handling and if you'd prefer it, but as I said, they give you lots of instruction and guidance. The day is from 9:15 am to be back and debarked by 6pm... It's a lovely long day and you can bring your drinks and snacks on board for the day, as well as mooring a long the river at some of the pubs as you you if you fancy stopping for breakfast or lunch etc. You can bring a bit of booze, they just ask it's not excessive amounts and that you have a few named.over 21 year olds on board who are classed as "responsible people" and remain sober. It's a slow and relaxed ride and I will say the times goes alot quicker than you think so be prepared so you don't end up turning back too late as you have to factor in lock time... The staff go though all that with you... I'm not an experienced boater, I found the locks fun but it's a lot of work so be prepared. Luckily we had experienced friends on board with us so it was a smoother experience :) All in all, it's very good value for money, we paid 240 for the day for our boat, the different size boats are different prices and it differs depending on the season as well. Great idea for a fun and different day out - and regulars on the river are all very friendly and love to give you a smile and a wave as you pass by. Highly recommended.
It was our second time visiting the centre and both experiences have been great! Really nice place, friendly staff and definitely a great idea for a day out in the sun!
Went for the second time and it was great. We got to go up a different way which was shut last time. Loads of baby swans and geese, loads of wildlife and ducks. Great way to spend an hour!
A really lovely boat ride down a nice piece of calm river overlooking lovely gardens and moored boats. Very relaxing 👍
Lovely time on the boat. Took my son for my birthday, it was amazing. Staff were lovely even though we forgot to hand the ticket back. I would definitely recommend going and the price is good too.
Must visit if in the area. Taken a few friends here and even with a baby, the centre provides a life jacket for kids. Easy to operate electric boats. Lovely ride on the canal. Calming and pleasant. They close in the winter, but do visit this place in the other seasons. My new favorite place as a resident of broxbourne.

Had a lovely spa day today with my friend. The treatments were really good and good value for money. Both ladies were really welcoming and accommodating, would highly recommend for a relaxing afternoon
Amazing time at the spa which was mini hen do. Facial and massage amazing both done by Jennifer and Louise. Dawn the receptionist went out of her way to help even going to her car to get some serum for my grandaughter to wash her hair. Thank you all for a great time.
We've been once for spa massage and swimming pool. The spa reception made us wait 20min for the massage and that could have been much better. The accessibility can be improved as well. The swimming pool is nice and jacuzzi/sauna as well. Would come back for the pool only.
Excellent massage from Jennifer every time I come here. Relaxing place with calming music and a water fountain in the 'common room' where you wait. Sometimes they mess up bookings but other than that, all good.
I brought 3 groupon vouchers for Christmas presents for me and my daughters. I call into the spa in December to book a day for us to attend in February and the Beauty therapist took the vouchers from me and said I need to bring nothing on the day that we attended the spa. However on the day there was a big fuss as I didn’t have the printed vouchers and as there was no internet I couldn’t get them on my phone. Made me feel very uncomfortable. The spa and leisure facilities at the Hertfordshire are in desperate need of refurbishment!! The sauna was not working and members said it had not worked for a while. Ladies showers downstairs running cold water and again members were complaining. Shower area dirty and worn. Carpet in the upstairs changing room worn and dirty. Hot tub- jets broken, light fitting above the tub all rusty and many not working. Filter full of dust and dirt. Green algae around the tile all round the pool. Decor throughout the building tired, worn and shabby. Beauty salon was cold, info red type heater ineffective and unsightly. The therapist didn’t run to time and were walking around and chatting at the reception. My treatment was booked at 4pm but not started until 4.30. On a positive note the massage was very nice and the therapist was very friendly. Overall the management need to pull there finger out and invest some cash to get the place up to scratch.
Super service and treatment. The environment was perfect, if your looking for relaxation in a kind space this place was excellent. Rebecca was very attentive, my treatment was perfect exactly what I expected and probably more. I will definitely return.
Jennifer is very good as professional yet also friendly and informative. She makes you feel relaxed and she has a lovely personality. She is very knowledgeable and excellent at her job - I would highly recommend her!
Very lovely and friendly staff at Hertfordshire spa! The facilities are clean and comfortable , I had the best treatment ever! Great value for money...will definitely come back again.

We booked a Christmas dinner and were very impressed. The food was lovely, in fact more than we could eat. The table was beautifully decorated and included Christmas crackers. The service was great, friendly, efficient and understanding especially as we had three ‘difficult’ members of our party. A big thank you to all concerned.
Food tastes just like microwaves food as that is what it is everything is brought in cooked and reheated other than stake and gammon. So if you enjoy reheated food that you can do at home cheaper then the food is ok. Our garlic bread looked like it was put on a dirty oily grill and tasted like it to. But staff didn't want to no when said something. Don't think I will be going back.
Well I recommended here as I loved the ham egg and chips and fish and chips but this has been always midweek at Round 2pm ... But Norman the Sunday lunch was terrible the veg is clearly out of the freezer and barely cooked the potatoes were over cooked and the stuffing dry as a bone one lady sent her chicken back and had beef then decided to take it home for the dog. The waiter didn't seem bothered by this comment !! .nonchalance at it's best .. The service well there isn't any which isn't the same when your here ! At 1.30 two of the dessert items were not available and there was only 7 diners in the room such a shame 😠😬
Perfect service, new manager really is making a difference. Come regularly only comment is that maybe the bar staff shouldn't be walking around behind the bar and on restaurant floor with no shoes or sometimes sliders. It's not very professional and slightly unhygienic other than that the service and staff are amazing and very helpful and happy. Food has improved too both presentation and taste Keep up the good work
Not a gourmet burger so a tad expensive with the amount of chips and salad on offer. Much needed ketchup and Mayo as the burger was dry. Beer in the other hand was Great and Cold so couldn't fault it, table service was good - food was a bit of a let down.
I was in there on Wednesday evening. The refurb was very welcoming. The food was excellent. The service was brilliant..Friendly, happy staff , all very efficient. I will be going back again. You cant complain about the prices either, a well thought out menu. 10 out of 10 for the staff at The Wheelwrights. Thank You.
Lovely country pub, friendly staff, football on the telly, Stella on the taps. Would definitely go back soon, as they offered a warm welcome to done weary travelers such as ourselves. Nice little garden out front too. Inside tips - try the quavers
Just had the worst meal of my life, I ordered the £10.50 beef burger and the burger its self was burnt black the salad if you could call it salad was 2 onion trimmings and a slice tomatoe, to top it off the chips were cold. One good thing the staff were good, however they should definitely hire new chef or fix the microwave.

One absolutely gorgeous location. My children and I absolutely love the walks through these woods. If driving late in the afternoon might not find parking space on a weekend. The scenery is simply beautiful. ♥️
Wormley Woods - Beautiful spacious woods, pathways, and signage dotted throughout but keeping its natural feel and no litter 😍
Beautiful walk, quiet, however the only draw back is the car parks are not very big and can be hassle to park if busy but we'll worth a walk with sign posted trails so you don't get lost. Highly recommend. *****
Went with 2 friends for a walk which was lovely. I’ve never seen so many mushrooms most of them poisonous but really beautiful. In some parts you feel like your in another country it’s lovely. I definitely would go again, if I can to escape people and pretend I live in a tepee for a afternoon.
First time visit on 3 Jan. Enjoyed walking through the woods. You can stick to the main tracks or take alternatives to go down deeper or climb higher. Seems a great place to take your dog for a walk too. Free parking available.
I am fortunate that Broxbourne Woods are on my doorstep it is a wonderful location, for walking, horse riding and the odd cycle ride. A large part of the wood is a managed forest however in recent years there has been some devastation wrought by heavy machines removing trees alongside charming dells on a couple of the streams, but they are now recovering fairly well even so some of the older trails have been obliterated. However, much is still wonderful, Ermine Street passes through the woods northwards to Hertford town and is fairly well used by local riding stables.
Wonderful nature reserve with many trails to explore as well as simple circuit walks. A wood carving sculpture trail will give children amusement as well as den building
Very beautiful forest, loads of people walking the dogs, riding horses. Will be back again as it's too big for 1 time visit 😊❤️

Had my sons 8th birthday party here. 1 word AMAZING.... All the kids enjoyed themselves. Was met by Michelle when we arrived very friendly and welcoming, explained how the day would proceed and gave the kids a great time. Luke gave the briefing and put them in teams. Luke stayed with the kids and gave them a great time. Thank you to all at Zap combat
Staff taking calls are friendly but the manager, Mark is extremely rude and aggressive. I wasn’t too happy with the way they were handling my child’s birthday part booking. They sold me the package with food included then he calls me one day before the party telling me it’s not included after all. I said that was unfair to call me last minute. He wouldn’t let me speak while he ranted on that if I don’t like it then he’ll just cancel it! I said you can’t do that to a child, so he cancels it anyway! I was shocked to the core that a place dealing with children could behave in such a disgusting manner.
We had a great time at the Zap Combat Centre. The activities were great and Michelle and the two other main members of staff were fantastic. We wish we could have had a bit longer at the centre and I would recommend having at least three hours there to have talks/lunch/activities etc. The coach company also commented that it would be helpful if there was enough space for them to get into the car park. Overall a great school trip!
Wouldn’t recommend at all . They don’t care about visitors, the only thing that they care about to make extra money from them . I went there with 12 kids , the weather was hot so we all needed water . They sell one water for £1.50 still going to pay but there aren’t water . Can you imagine 12 kids played and there is no enough water !!! If you want to go there bring your staff with you just in case . They served food to kids was row plus they didn’t cover the tables (it’s located at outside) . I got lots to say but I can’t be bothered.
Still no refund. Completely ignore all calls and emails. 5 months later. Closed. Can only assume they are no longer open. Booked a party online and paid a deposit 12th Jan 22, since then have called, left messages, emailed and Facebook messaged but had no response at all. Really annoying. I guess I'll have to go through my credit card Co for a refund of my deposit and I just hope I can get another party organised in time. Obviously avoid.
My son had his 11th birthday party here with his school mates. Brilliant fun even on a cold autumn afternoon which they all enjoyed. Reasonably priced with lots of healthy running around. Plan to go again soon.
Went for my brothers birthday party, he brought the whole of his class, about 20 kids, I was struggling to cope with the excited kids in the minibus on the way there! as we arrived their excitement grew. This is where the fantastic staff stept in and took control. I can not stress how amazing the staff are !!! They were all sat down and listened to a briefing, then were kitted up and off playing before i had ordered a cup of tea! The venue itself is in beautiful woodland, plenty of seating and shelter and on site caters, it was very clean and well kept and plenty of parking (which was handy with 2 big minibuses). After an hour of playing the kids all came back in for a short break to refuel then they went back in for the remainder of the session, when I asked the kids how it Walsall going they were all very quick to reply with things like, "best party ever!!!" "Never had so much fun!" "The marshall is very fun!" And "I want my party here". I've played high impact a few times before and was concerned about the pain for the kids, we had boys and girls between 8-9 Yrs old, there were no tears and no bruises or marks, a few nerves from one little girl at the start, but the marshall was quick to calm her down, take her out playing, she came back in with a smile ear to ear and was apparently the most ruthless out there! I can not thank Zap Combat Centre enough for there help booking the party, and running it! It was stress free and everyone had an amazing time, we will defiently be returning soon!!! And I never write reviews but for these guys I had to! Thanks again and a special thank you to Ben and Dan (the 2 marshalls)
Very happy with a recent Laser Zap 11th birthday party at this venue. It was easy to book online. When I phoned with queries they were answered promptly and accurately. The children enjoyed themselves and the staff managing their session were good. Food was ordered to arrive as they finished and they enjoyed burgers/hotdogs etc There is a cover for if it rains but it is roof only so they need to wrap up warm in January. Laser Combat was a better choice for us than Junior paintball as even junior paintball has a bit of a sting. Would definitely recommend.

I hired a carriage and 2 horses for a two hour ride around London for a special treat for me and my family, for my 70th birthday, on 1st April 2024. I have to say it was the most wonderful experience, the horses, Herman and Hercules were beautiful, so fantastic dealing with everything around them. The driver, Lee, was a fantastic guide and pointed out lots of things we didn't know about our Capital city. Jenna the groom who accompanied him was so helpful, taking photos of us and making our experience even better. I could not have chosen better for this special occasion. My 10 year old grandson was with us and I'm sure he will remember the day for decades to come. Thank you so very much.
Nathan and the team absolutely did the business for our wedding and logistically had everything in place perfectly for the day, even though they didn't receive instructions from us until the night before. It was especially special for my grandad who is almost 90 and was reminiscent of his childhood. The horses and victorian carriages were absolutely stunning and the gents in the uniforms looked the part. This is something we will never forget and made our day truly special. Thank you so much!
Thank you Nathan and the team, for making our wedding entrance a memorable one, our guests loved it. The horses as well as the carriage looked lovely and made a great impression on our guests. Nathan & Sara were very accommodating and friendly with us. The service was nothing short of outstanding! You are in good hands, there is no need to look any further. From Daniela & Younes 31st August 2019, Theobalds Estate.
Nathan and his team are simply amazing, gave our mum the best send of we could have asked for. I've sent Nathan and his team a thank you letter, but that doesn't seem enough for what they done. thank you again Nathan and team.
Absolutely amazing company, very professional and made my mum's funeral look amazing. We had Rocco, Mango, Pluto and Matty with a stunning white carriage and red plumes. To see they looked extravagant is an understatement. Thank you
Nathan did my sister’s funeral recently with a white carriage and 2 grey horses. I cannot put into words what a spectacle they put on, everything was so immaculate, professional, and the horses were so beautiful, I can’t recommend him and his company enough, thank you SO much Nathan!
Highly recommend nathan and his team. Possibly the best carriage master around. The horses are turned out at 100% perfection and so well mannered. The carriages are impeccably. Today we had a funneral and nathan was kind- polite- and also noligable of what to do and how to address himself couldnt rate heritage horse carriages enough. Thankyou
Possibly the best Carriage Master in the world! Certianly the UK. Have used Nathan and his Crew on numerous occasions - you will stuggle to find a better tunrout! Couldn't reccomend highly enough.

First time here, made to feel welcome and shown where to tee off, by staff friendly member. and going to be a regular. Tried Footgolf for the first time, with my two sons, both grown men 😆 Even though I lost, brilliant 9 hole course, running next to the 9 hole golf course, different coloured flags and holes, obviously. Lovely setting, range of difficulties on each hole. Really nice clubhouse and facilities, didn't try food, but had a pint of lager each, outside in the seating area, which may I had was brought out to us by a professional and friendly member of staff. Easy parking, wheelchair accessible. Will update, review on next visit. Highly recommend.
I went to the mother and toddler group this morning at Broxbourne Golf complex. We both had a great time and would definitely return. There was a small soft play area which is perfect for toddlers. We ate breakfast while we were there too and it was lovely. I’d recommend this for anyone who has a toddler.
Had our Leyton Orient presentation there, stunning place, crazy golf and football golf loved by all and the food was fantastic. Staff worked tirelessly, they were really polite and helpful I would highly recommend this venue. We all had a great time
Hired this venue for my wife’s party , beautiful venue in amazing surroundings with beautiful inside and outside space . Plenty of parking , staff were all so helpful and friendly especially Sarah who dealt with my booking from the start and all the arrangements including food which was great. Everyone who attended absolutely loved the place , would definitely recommend to anyone !
We got married at Broxbourne Golf Complex at the beginning of June this year and what a day we had! Rochelle, Joe and Sarah were all so amazing with helping to plan the wedding and nothing was a problem for them! Even last minute decisions we made was no trouble. This venue is such a wonderful family run business and we are so glad we found it! Our wedding day was perfect! We had our ceremony under the oak tree and had our reception in the marquee. The bbq food was amazing and so many of our guests complimented on it. We were even more lucky with the gorgeous weather we had. ☀️ We couldn’t recommend this wedding venue enough! Thank you again!! Laura and Michael ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks to Sarah, Joe and staff for providing us with a fabulous venue for our 50th Anniversary party .The food was top class and nothing was too much trouble . It was spotlessly clean and well decorated throughout with an excellent outside eating drinking, sitting area. We would highly recommend it.
We had our wedding here a few weeks ago and I cannot praise the venue and all of its staff enough! Rochelle is AMAZING at what she does, she made planning a wedding a total breeze. The setting is just stunning and it was the perfect size for a wedding where people had enough space to spread out but close enough together for a great atmosphere. Their prices are transparent and fair, and the effort, care and attention that that goes into making this family run business a success is evident in all they do. I cannot recommend this venue enough!
We play golf par 3 and crazy golf with the kids here..This place is so lovely and great for kids for a few hours entertainment...very clean..food is great and lots of selections..prices are very reasonable too.lots of open space and nice and clean outdoor seating areas as well as inside with cover from the rain. It's well worth visiting regularly and having fun here..

We had such a wonderful experience renting bikes here! Grant and his team were fantastic, friendly, responsive, and incredibly accommodating when we messaged ahead of time. The bike path was a joy to ride, and there’s even a lovely café nearby for a cold beverage afterwards. We also noticed they have charming chalets right across from the shop. Absolutely worth renting! Next time, that’s definitely where we’ll stay. Highly recommend!
Had a great time hiring a tandem and riding along the tow path and lakes in Cheshunt. Would really recommend. Plus they're running a half price deal on bike rentals throughout the winter months ☺️
Grant & the team are fantastic. Really easy to contact on fb messenger. Arranged for a big group & was seamless - with really help making the best of the boats he could arrange... even bringing in extras from another friend. Thanks!!
Great hour out on the river! Everyone was lovely. Took the time to explain the best route, and didn't feel rushed at all. very reasonably priced and no need for an assessment etc like other places so you can just pull up and kayak! Will definitely be back.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Kayaks were clean and dry and the hour rental took us through some pretty scenery.
We have got double kayaks and canoes (one canoe sits 2 adults and 2 kids) from this place before, and it's wonderful to paddle along next to swans and coots in Lee Valley. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the cafe next door looks very popular. A great way to spend time outdoors with whole family!
It was a lot of fun but I think our life jackets were way too small and/or not adjusted properly. I could slide mine 10cm up before it stopped and at bottom position it was too short to fit the seat.

First time at the club today. Taken here by my 82 year old neighbour, who is a member here. Ain't played for 20 years lol Tried driving range, putting green, was welcomed by, professional, friendly staff, had a cup of tea at the bar, watched Olympics, lovely place to be. Definitely going back, will review food and try a round of golf ⛳️ Easy parking, disabled access, beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend so far, update ASAP.
The Hertfordshire is a course set around a converted country estate and for which from speaking to members some course changes are in the plans. It has a driving range and practice putting area with some nice slopes across the putting green to test your green reading. It is reasonably well maintained with some very pleasant looking holes playing across water. The biggest challenge however is its tests of driving accuracy being cut amongst some very well established tree lines giving what appears to be from the tee, some very tight angles. When i played it, it was in good condition even though i understand that the club has recently lost its head green keeper. The fairways had good coverage and the greens were consistent which as a weekend golfer is all I'm really after. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of fairway sprinklers though as when i played it was drying out as can be seen in the pictures. It does look a bit tatty around some of the tees as there were no tee or rubbish bins meaning that there were a lot of broken tees lying around. Also there were no ball washers which to my mind shows a more corporate rather than golfer friendly mindset. However this didn't affect the playability of the course and some of my balls enjoyed a good soaking in the water hazards anyway. Whilst I really liked the aesthetics of the course it is quite challenging hence the slope rating with very tight drives and punishing rough. It's a course I'd very happily play again which is ultimately all that matters.
Played a round here for the first time today and its a fairly decent course. Felt like playing two different courses between the front 9 and the back 9. The former is quite flat and relatively easy to navigate. The latter is hilly and challenging especially hole 16 and hole 18. The club house is sizable with great setting. Staffs are friendly and the Gents in the Pro shop even help charging my watch before the round, thank you. Condition can be better in certain spots but overall cannot fault it.
First time playing at The Hertfordshire and it didn't disappoint. The staff in the pro shop were very welcoming and the shop itself had a decent collection on offer. The course was in great condition. The greens were true from one hole to the next and gave great confidence with the putter knowing you could trust the roll. The rough was tough. Quite thick and grabby but a fair punishment for being off line. Overall a brilliant course and a great challenge with all sorts of holes on offer. Not too long, not too short. I shot 90 which was slightly better than average for me if it helps give a guide as to how you might get on.
It is a beautiful building exterior, right in the heart of this stunning golf course, surrounded by incredible views, however inside is a bit dated. We enjoyed the event held there though.
So, it was the venue we used for a surprise party for a childhood friend. The venue was recommended by one of us who had visited before and enjoyed her experience there. Initially getting to book the room, tie down the date and time as well as make payment was a little struggle. They were unavailable to answer our queries due to staffing issues. At the time, someone was off sick and they were short-staffed. Once this was resolved it was smooth sailing all the way. We booked the date, time, room, and then made payments. Got confirmation of the booking. Sorted out the menu options for our guests, the layout of the room and decorations and colour scheme and that was it really! We did not need to do anything they took care of it. On the day, we arrived to see a beautifully decorated room. The staff went over and beyond our expectations. They were courteous and professional, and so helpful, we were all blown away! The surprise was a success and we had so much fun! The end was lovely. They cleared up after us and helped us pack our stuff into the cars. My friends and I were impressed with the exceptional service we received. The food was so lovely, we all enjoyed it. Even though we were running late,(it was difficult to get the celebrant out of the house 😅) the chef and staff were very understanding and accommodating. The meal time was pushed back 30 minutes and then forward 15 minutes because of the surprise time and the celebrant! They accommodated us effortlessly! Amazing 👏 service. I have a wedding planner friend whom I will be bringing back to this venue so she can add them to her list of lovely venues for parties and weddings in London. Thank you to all the team who worked brilliantly to make our friend's 50th birthday surprise party memorable. We are so grateful to have used this place. I am definitely going back there again!
I took my sons there for an evening round of golf and the night could not have been better, although the service was slightly delayed which was a shame. Would go again without a doubt but maybe on a weekday. Nice modern facilities and great atmosphere though.
Not from the area and just popped in for a drink. It was quite busy and the staff were working exceptionally hard….. very friendly and the coffee was excellent complete with two non dairy milk options. Others were eating food which looked amazing and the menu also had some vegan and vegetarian choices. May well come back later!

My friends and I had a wonderful evening here. The atmosphere was lively, comfortable with a nice homely feel. Loved the decor and the playlist of so many familiar dance tune in the background. Had us dancing in our seats. Not surprising it was full when we arrived, (much earlier than our reservation time). We had drinks at the bar while we waited and were soon seated. The food was tasty and every mouthful was worth the long journey we made to get here. A big thank you to the owner, Maria, and her wonderful staff for being so attentive, warm & friendly. I can see why it's such a popular destination for people. I'm definitely coming back!
Nestled in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no phone signal when you get there 🤪 is this absolute gem. This was our first time but thought we would give it a try to celebrate our daughters engagement and we were all so glad we did. The service was extremely friendly and helpful from the moment we entered. The pub itself is very old and full of charm and the food was exceptional. Every dish was freshly made by the wonderful chef and the menu was also very unique with a mix of classic English dishes, mixed in with some amazing Greek food. We will definitely be back to try everything else they offer but if you're scared of the woods, then don't come at night 🤣
If you’re looking for a fantastic pub experience around woods, this spot is a must-visit! We recently enjoyed a Sunday roast here after a nice walk in the woods around, and it was absolutely delicious—tender meat, perfectly cooked vegetables, and rich gravy, all served piping hot. The service was top-notch, with friendly staff making sure we had everything we needed, and always with a smile. One of the best parts is the lovely outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying a meal in the fresh air. There’s ample parking, which made getting in and out a breeze. For families, this pub is a dream—there’s a great playground area and even a bouncy castle for the little ones to enjoy! It’s such a great family-friendly atmosphere. If you’re planning a party or gathering, this place also offers plenty of space for larger groups, making it an ideal spot to host an event. Highly recommend it for the delicious food, excellent service, and welcoming atmosphere. Perfect for a day out with family or friends!
This was one of the best lunches I’ve had in a while! The service and atmosphere was great as well. The building itself is gorgeous on the outside and well decorated on the inside!!! The food was perfectly cooked and seasoned as well.
I had the pleasure of visiting The Woodman and Olive restaurant yesterday, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The highlight of my meal was the chef’s special Chicken Box, and it was simply delicious! The chicken was perfectly crispy, tender on the inside, and topped with just the right amount of sauce, which added a wonderful blend of flavors. The fries were well-seasoned and complemented the chicken nicely. Garnished with fresh herbs and jalapeños, the dish had a touch of freshness and spice that made every bite satisfying. The presentation was also impressive—everything looked vibrant and appetizing. The service was great too. The staff was attentive, and the atmosphere had a cozy yet trendy vibe, perfect for both a casual meal or a night out. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend trying out The Woodman and Olive’s chef specials. You won’t be disappointed!
It's the first time we have visited the pub,and we really enjoyed it, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was lovely, we will definitely be back
Great pub serving Greek food with a playground for the kids. You can walk directly into the forest also
I ask for something special and I get it.🥰🙏 God bless the chefs and all the staff for this amazing meal.Pork, chicken, tomatoes, cucumber, onions etc = taste amazing. Plenty of parking (even for horses if you have one 😍🙏) I thought I am in the western movie eating my lunch outside on the beach. Lovely restaurant in the middle of the nature.
