Bridge
Suspension footbridge spanning 406m over a river gorge, linking castle ruins with a Roman-era fort.
Slide 1 of 8
The landscape is breathtaking, surrounded by mountains, and crossing the Highline bridge was truly thrilling. It took us about 10–15 minutes to walk across, and on the other side you’ll find small benches where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the scenic views. There’s also a little playground for kids and a short 10-minute movie, though it might feel a bit scary for some children. The view from the castle is equally beautiful—definitely worth a visit!
Bloody incredible!!! You need to not be too scared of heights but its such a rush when you make it to the other side. Views are incredible! For €72 for my husband & I, we got a ride up to the 1st station, a walk across the suspension bridge & back, a walk around the fort & a ride down on the zip line. Such a thrill for two Aussies to see and experience all of this. Highly recommend this!
Very nice experience overall. Worth it! We were skeptic at first but eventually it turned out good. There are actually 3-4 things to do. 1. The highline bridge itself. Hanging and very long....people get there cross it and go to other side. Go to the viewpoint next to the end and click nice views of the valley. 2. Come back and do the ruins. 12-14th century. For historians ig would be great. For others some history and some good views. 3. You could go further up by another cable car...separately charged. ( you could buy all the tickets at the start @bottom). Astounding views. Ruins of the fort and small store for drinks etc. 4. Come down to original level and you can do the zip line (20 euros) or come down back through cable car. 5. Kids playing areas as well at both the levels. Overall great. Posting some pics. See the views yourself. Toilets at all levels. Car park entry both sides of the road. Leave a thumbs up if you like the review and the photos.
When one is in the neighbourhood as in our case just over the border from Germany, this is a drill seeking adventure not only walking the bridge, but the option to visit a number of castles, all ruins, but with so much of history, to the breathtaking views of the surroundings. In our case we took the Ehrenberg Liner via an inclined elevator, Europe largest. We transit to TopLiner to enjoy Fortress Schlosskopf, with all the views around. Return to the middle station highline 172, 400 meters above ground with the occasional winds and movements, a real moment, one for the bucket list. We ended up at Castle Ehrenberg. Plenty of payable car park available.
Bridge 179, a tourist attraction. The largest iron bridge in Europe connecting 2 points (fortresses). There is a large parking lot a few minutes walk from the start of the route. Parking costs 5 euros for a regular car. There are 2 routes to choose: 1) on foot, about a 20-minute walk up the mountain to the bridge. 2) go up by funicular (31 euros for a family of 2 + 2). The cost of the bridge per family is 36 euros. if you want to go up to the higher part (1740 meters) another 31 euros (really not cheap) you can do the first part on foot up + down. The bridge is crazy, really long above the entire area - the bridge sways but very safe. In addition, there is a small museum on site. A very nice experience, very special but not cheap.
Very nice experience! It actually turned out to be a great exercise for me since I’m a bit afraid of heights. You can hold the sides to feel safer, and although it moves slightly when others walk, it feels stable overall. The view is amazing, especially on a clear day. If you’re scared of heights, I recommend visiting during quieter hours — it’s totally worth it!
What an unexpected day here, stunning landscape and worth every euro to enter. The high line is super safe but sways enough to give you some thrills. Wasn’t a part of our original journey but if you are thinking about it, just do it. Staff was very friendly and helpful, spoke English (Danke). Parking and entry were available via credit card but bathrooms (WC) were cash pay by coin and with a change machine available.
We visited Highline179 today with friends and it was a stunning experience! The suspension bridge itself is absolutely breathtaking, with panoramic views over the valley and surrounding mountains. The short walk up to the entrance took us about 10–15 minutes on one side, and it was well worth it once we stepped onto the bridge. Crossing it together was exciting, a little thrilling, and gave us amazing photo opportunities. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area!

Ruins of a Gothic castle that housed kings, emperors & tsars before slipping into ruin.
Slide 1 of 8
Nice castle ruins on top of the hill. Astonishing panorama view. You can reach it on foot (20min hiking up the mountain) or choose trolley. Trolley cost couple euros and can take you to Ehrenberg or higher to Schlosskopf. There is free exhibition about fortification art at the fortress gate building. Paid medieval museum is in Ehrenberg Klause accesible from the shop. There is no problem with parking. A lot of space for cars.
Hi y’all, We visited the Ehrenburg Castle in Austria. It’s just stunning. That’s what you usually see in movies. This one should definitely be checked out. Doesn’t matter with the family, partner or even alone. The trip is at least a half day trip without kids. Cool thing about it is that the attractions itself are for free. You only have to pay for the transport to the attractions. Of course they’re easy to use and for anybody usable. If you decide to save the money and make it even more memorable, just go up the hill to Claudia Fort, take then the highline, checkout the Ehrenburg, hike up to Schlosskopf and then either use the transportations to go down or just hike again. It’s all accessible on food. You can buy the tickets anywhere. No need to buy them I advance. Just decide what you wanna do once you’ve reached the point since you can pay right before the transportation. Ok, that’s it. Check it out yourself ! King regards Peter
The castle itself is kind of unremarkable from the inside, but looks great from the outside. It is being worked on (restoration) so many areas are closed off. It's free to enter, but if you want to go on the bridge or take the funicular, there are fees. Views are spectacular
Great castle and a quick walk. You can visit for free if using footpath up the hill which is about 10-15min walk up. Great exabitions in the casle and also in dungeon ar the main castle gate. Recommend.
We didn't expect so many attractions to be located in one place. We walked here from Lechaschau, originally planning to visit Burgruine Ehrenberg only. You can easily organise a day trip to this complex. There is a hotel on the grounds, as well as a restaurant with decent food. The main attractions include the suspension bridge, the ruins of the fort, and two lifts that provide easy access. We chose to walk everywhere, which took some time, but it was quite enjoyable. It's steep depending on the route you take. Would you like it to be more formal, more concise, or expanded with additional details?
Burgruine Ehrenberg is a striking 13th-century fortress that once served as a key defensive stronghold along the Via Claudia Augusta trade route between Italy and Germany. Built in 1296, it played a central role in regional power struggles for centuries, passing through the hands of nobles, emperors, and bishops. Today, its partially restored walls and towers sit dramatically above the valley, offering sweeping Alpine views and a vivid sense of medieval life. With well-placed signage and scenic paths, it’s both an easy explore and a rewarding step back in time.
A review purely about Ehrenberg Castle Ruins: I highly recommend this destination for anyone seeking peace and relaxation amidst breathtaking mountain scenery. Surrounded by fairy-tale-like peaks, the castle is not only steeped in history but also thoughtfully designed for modern visitors. Each corner is adorned with creative decorations, offering unique photo spots that make the experience even more special. In the evening, twinkling lights and glowing decorations create a cozy and enchanting atmosphere. Families will love the playground for children, while hiking enthusiasts can explore the nearby trails and immerse themselves in nature. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and recharge your soul, this is the perfect place to visit.
Great visit to this gem - very well preserved and a labyrinth to walk around in. Great view. You can visit the ruin for free when walking up there or you can pay around 15 euros return/adult to take lift.

Amazing place!!! Several different sauna and several ice baths. Relaxation rooms and epic outdoor thermal baths. You should be warned though, the saunas are “naked”.. where you can wear a towel, however most people are FULLY nude. The locals seem very comfortable with this, bit odd coming from UK.
Very nice little thermal complex with a fun slide. Warm water. 4 family members cost 30 euros which is OK. Shame they told me wearing my mask is not obligatory, as if I don't know that and implying I am the one doing something strange.
Really great place. Super clean and organized. The jids had a great time as well. The water slide was really fun
Excellent for relaxing. When you on ski vacation it is great to swim a little. Especially outside during winter time. Only bad thing is restaurant. Bad service, bad espresso, you must eat or drink in restaurant where is cold after pool. Big parking in front of Therme. Winter 2024: Everything like before. Just restaurant service is worst. You need to eat or drink only in restaurant, and it is cold after being in pool. Espresso is disaster. Can't explain that is hard to put good espresso machine if you sell it for 3€.
Outstanding pool and facilities. Lovely views from the outside & inside pools. Well worth a visit. Won't hesitate to go back.
I only went to the textile-free sauna side of this there and it was wonderful. Different temperature saunas with regular aufguss schedule. I went for 3 hours but would have liked to have more time. There is plenty to do including and indoor/outdoor pool and open area to sit in the sun or shade and enjoy the mountain views.
The price performance is good. The different option gives you a good variety. The whole area is warm and I think wherever you are you would feel comfortable. The staff was nice and friendly. I don't like the mixed area for children and adults. I guess depending on the time there will be a lot of both. At the time most parents didn't look out for their children and so did the staff, when the children jumped into the pool where it was forbidden. Nobody said anything at all. That makes the "everybody together" kinda vibe pretty bad for me. I know it's a public indoor pool or area and hairs and everything is a part of everything bit I think it could be looked after a little bit better.
What a great Alpentherme, we were really delighted with everything. Temperature of the air was perfect during our visit in December. Children are allowed in all the pools with floatation devices. The children's pool has two great slides and plenty of toys for kids to share. The sauna area is amazing, with different themes and temperatures to suit every desire. There was also an 'aufguss' starting almost every 30 min. The restaurants had a good selection of dishes and everything we had was delicious and very reasonably priced. Add on top the modern construction, extreme cleanliness, and beautiful scenery and needless to say we can't wait to return!

A beautiful place for all types of hikers. Easy trails. Nice food.
Beautiful view and many ski slopes depending on difficulty. But mostly for above intermediate level.
Apart from the constant rain and blinding mist, it was a great experience to go up and down with the cable cart. Lots of paths to take once you're up
Lovely nature, great for paragliding or hiking.
We got stuck in the gondellift for 1.5 houts not a nice experience. The ski slopes are great
Beautiful mountain for ski or snowboard or simply to eat and drink up in the restaurant at the top of the mountain

Super beautiful and a great short hike. Many nice spots to swim, but the water is very cold. Tours involving climbing down the falls are also available from several providers in the area.
Great view and track, can be on the demanding side if not phiscly prepared
Quite steep walk to it. If you arw careful on the rocks then you can also reach the waterfall from the bottom. Worth visiting if its a quick trip or along the route. Paid public parking, 6Eur for whole day.
Easy walking trail with gorgeous views. Mother Nature is simply beautiful.
Excellent hiking trail! It’s a circular route of 4.3 km with about 200 meters of climbing. Free parking is available (not a lot of spaces, but enough. we arrived not very early and still managed to park a large caravan). Most of the trail is shaded, there are a few benches along the way, and you can even go for a cold dip. Suitable for families with children. Takes about two hours.
Easy to medium hiking trail along cascading waterfalls. Free to visit and open at all times. Multiple stops along the way. Trail can be hiked in around 1-2 hours, some parts are a little steeper but generally it's an easy walk. The scenery along the river and forest trails is definitely worth the visit, the clear turquoise water is beautiful, so are the waterfalls. Some views would be better without all the neon colored rafting people but it is what it is. No bathrooms or trash cans around. Parking spots can be harder to find at tourist high season. Preferred when the weather is slightly cloudy.
Stunning views, highly recommend for an easy hike
A gorgeous multi tiered waterfall! You can park at the dirt lot up above and walk down to either the metal overlook or all the way to the bottom. I recommend doing the hike to the bottom so you don't just see the tops of the falls. It's a steep decline and incline but not far.

(Translated by Google) A great stage and backdrop, right on the rock. The piece “Geierwally” was played perfectly by the actors. For me, as a native of the Allgäu, it was easy to understand the dialect. For some others it may be advisable to read the plot beforehand - but you can certainly explore the plot while watching and enjoy the brilliant actors, the stage and the production. Be happy if you can capture a card!!!
(Translated by Google) Impressive, great atmosphere, outstanding performers, an experience! We'd love to come back! (Original) Eindrucksvoll, tolles Ambiente, hervorragende Darsteller, ein Erlebnis! Wir kommen gerne wieder!
