Just stopped in here today and loved everything about it. The pub is beautiful inside and out. Eugene is a great bartender, and we had a great conversation. I understand that people with kids think kids should go everywhere, but I’m actually happy to have some places where there are no kids running around, screaming,, and whatever else. Anyhow, I was surprised to read all this. Had a great experience, and I’m glad I stopped in.
Quite literally the most quintessential Irish Pub. Eugene is absolutely a gem. He taught us how to drink whiskey and the patrons were so much fun. Do not miss this place…. Also, if you are leaving reviews because Eugene hurt your feelings, don’t try to take your kids to a bar, and don’t be a wimp. Sincerely, Mari Rains
Slightly cliquey atmosphere and not the most welcoming place - but decorated beautifully. Good pint too. We did go very early in the day so it may be much livelier later on?!
I won't return. Owner was extremely rude using foul language in front of mixed company. There are plenty of welcoming pubs nearby. Try next door: the owner Joan is great company.
Eugene was worst host ever. Made sarcastic deprecating insults the moment we walked in. We returned his insults and went to next door. Joan was a brilliant host. Had a great night there. Don't waste your time going into Eugene's.
CASH ONLY - but Eugene is amazing and is totally worth it. Such a lovely guy who showed great hospitality to us and some really lovely whiskey.
Great little gem of a pub, a must see while in the area, Eugene is a true gentleman with lots of amazing stories 😉
Beautiful pub very welcoming

We had a great time at Cooley’s house celebrating our wedding. Pat and Joan are both such wonderful people and made us feel so at home. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and we loved learning a little bit about the history of the Pub!
My wife Donna and I walked in and immediately felt like we were home. Joan was a very gracious hostess. Joan gave us the history of the establishment and the town. We came back the next day because it was a great place. Ireland in itself is a great place. All the people we met during out holiday made us feel like we were home.
We had drinks here the day after out wedding and Joan was so so lovely. There was a great atmosphere with music and the Guinness was top notch. She gave us a cocktail on the house and a beautiful art print of the pub and it was so thoughtful as a wedding gift. Lovely spot would really recommend.
Super lovely lady behind the bar! Ordered an Irish coffee and she gave lots of tips on what to look out for! Really enjoyed our time spent there and overall really great pub!
What a great traditional Irish bar. Great people and great service. They sang me happy birthday along with a cupcake and a candle was a nice touch. Walking distance to our hotel.
What can you say? A brilliant old style Irish pub. Great craic, friendly staff, great Guinness and a fantastic selection of foxy water. 10/10.
Wow!! What a fabulous pub. Myself and friends were in Cooleys a few weeks ago while we were in Enistymon celebrating a friends birthday. The lovely lady behind the bar came out with a mini muffin with a candle and drinks while kicking off a rendition of happy birthday and having a song played in her honour. Going above and beyond doesn’t even come close. To top that off it was a great spot with fantastic music and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!! Thank you so much. Would highly recommend
Everything is great about this pub, I met Joan the bar owner, she's more then just a bartender! She's lovely ... ❤❤❤ Heart welming. She offered me a free whiskey 🥃 because I came on my clogs from the Netherlands and she loved it. 🙃😁 Then we made a picture behind the bar, I can only recommend this bar, good live music, great atmosphere, and lovely people🥰 just go to this bar !!! The greatest most funny and beautiful, pub in Ireland 🇨🇮🍀🤩🥳

Shopping
Slide 1 of 8
We have been shopping here now for about 5 years and this lovely little health food store has become an essential part of our way of life. From the quality food they have, and the vitamin supplements, to the excellent hygiene, sanitary and cleaning products they have. My diet alone has become far healthier just from shopping here, and during lockdown it really played an important role for us. We get mostly all our shopping here aside from the odd few bits, and honestly I wouldn't go anywhere else given the choice. The staff are always lovely to chat with and have the laugh, and I always leave here feeling uplifted and cheerful. It's a good atmosphere. I absolutely recommend people start shopping here.
When I asked the assistant today for help finding a second item, she was openly frustrated with me. So, if you want to be publicly humiliated by a shop assistant who resents assisting, then this is the place for you. Personally I would recommend the fantastic alternatives in Ennis, such as Meanwell Whole Foods and Open Sesame
Nice and unique little shop Appreciated they have children toys to let them play while you are having a coffee
Went there a little over a week ago for some travel health needs ( 3 different health aids / products ). I named the three of them to the working staff member and in a very quick moment she had them ready for me, plus an additional product / idea to try as well. Also, as I was checking out I saw another favorite product on the counter in front of me, so I added that my purchase, too. The products worked properly as it had before and the shopping experience was very efficient and positive. I'm glad the shop was there for me in that beautiful scenic area.
I went here with my husband recently. The woman who works there is super-friendly and she spoke Irish to customers regularly, which was lovely to hear. My husband and I are both vegan and weren't expecting to find a place that sells vegan food in this area. We were delighted to see that this place offered a 'vegan platter'. Don't get too excited though. The 'platter' was more like a few scrapings of food. It was TINY. They had no dolmades left though, even though it was early in the day, so we were offered 'extra' artichoke and 'extra' hummus in it's place. I'd hate to see how small this place is normally. The 'extra' hummus was basically a teaspoon of hummus and the 'extra' artichoke was less than half an artichoke. How small is it beforehand?? The whole plate was extremely small with what looked like 'left-over' pieces. We complained about how small the dish was and asked for more soup instead. However, it was not until we left the place that we realised that we were charged for this too. It is not a cheap place. It almost cost us €50 for a snack!! It's a pity, because other than the tiny proportions, this place could be great. The staff are friendly and it's a cosy place. But the tiny proportions are enough to give it a low score. Pity.
Award winning retailer in the area of Environmental Initiatives. Tessa and staff have their ear to the ground and are extremely conscientious retailers. The Aloe Tree is wonderful place to visit.
Nice little shop, but I wouldn't call it zero waste... But they serve the best Cafe and the staff is super friendly. They also always have plant milk available!
The best natural products. With the widest range - go there!

Faust Gallery is a home of fine arts, but unlike other places its so incredibly inclusive and homey. Worth popping over for a good chat and a look. You can buy some amazing art pieces from paintings to sculptures - and have a relaxed, aesthetically pleasing time. Sara is an amazing, knowledgable guide around art world. I learned a lot and will be back for more.
Highly recommend stopping in here! Delightful visit to Sarah’s gallery space. Beautiful work abounds. Such a lovely chat - she is a strong advocate for local artists and their craft/profession.
We had a wonderful surprise when we discovered this beautiful shop and gallery yesterday. Sara was closing up as we arrived yet welcomed us in warmly. We loved her paintings and the ceramics and jewellery on offer. Sara generously shared some of her techniques in developing her paintings. She added greatly to our experience of Ennistymon. We will be back!
A real gem of an art gallery!!! Sara is very friendly and generous with her advice and her time. It is always a real pleasure to visit the gallery where she doesn't just stock her own work, which is exceptional, but shares her space with artists and sculptors that compliment each other. There is always something new to see and the prices are excellent as well. I would highly recommend The Foust Gallery!!!
Foist Gallery is a must see when you’re in Clare. Not only does Sara have many of her own gorgeous paintings, she always has other exhibitions of other artists. And Sara herself is just a joy to meet. Definitely stop in if you’re driving through Ennistymon!
A wonderful gallery and gorgeous art. The artist, Sara, is wonderful to talk to and after visiting the gallery, I enjoyed Ennistymon--which inspires much of her art—even more. She is lovely to talk to and generous with her time (and travel info). Don't miss visiting.
A beautiful event hosted by artist Sara Foust who shared details on her wonderful painting techniques. I wish these events were held on a more regular basis as it was such an interesting experience. Sara is a great speaker and her art is quite amazing. Thanks so much for giving your time Sara.
The Foust Gallery is a magical place. A 'must visit' if you are passing through Ennistymon. Sara entranced her audience on Culture Night with a demonstration of the techniques and methods she uses to create her art. Thanks for all the advice and encouragement!
