An excellent free place to visit. Amazing views across the Loire River from this stunning feat of engineering.
Well maintained bridge. Nice to walk around and over the river. Adventurous for children. Nice café at the end with baked goods and ice cream.
Really good place for walk or for run. Also u can make tour with your bicycle. I hear also there is possibility to rent small boat and make tour by yourself , u can use and drive it , dont need any license drive for it. Maybe next time when i visit , i can try.
Well worth a visit. Lovely to walk over it and the river Loire teeming with wildlife. It was very quiet when we went and we sadly didn’t get to see any boats travel along it.
Impressive aquaduct that makes a safe crossing over the river Loire and connects the Canal Latéral with the Briare Canal. Once used by cargo boats it is now used mainly by pleasure boats and canal cruisers. On the sides you can cycle and walk. The aquaduct was built between 1890 and 1896 by the company of Gustav Eiffel and has a metal trough resting on 14 stone piers. With a length of 662 meter it was when completed the longest navigable aquaduct in the world. There are elaborate lamp posts at each end, reminiscent of the Pont Alexander III in Paris. It has a length
Absolutely beautiful. One thing to see once in a lifetime. It's crazy to think that a canal is literally going above a river. This bridge might 130 years old but it's a great life of engineering that shows that when mankind wants to accomplish something, it can.
A great landmark to visit, cross and explore. A good motorhome aire next to it
So very impressive, amazing.

(Translated by Google) Small but nice museum. In just under an hour you have seen everything, including a film about the production of the mosaic stones with glaze. In addition to mosaics, a large number of buttons and beads can also be seen. You can view the objects made from this in drawers that you have to open yourself. The company trades with the tiles worldwide. In Briare you can find various examples of mosaic art. You can see one beautiful example at the church in the center of Briare. One combination ticket for the mosaic museum and the marine museum is possible.
Nice small museum, be attentive to the visiting hours...

(Translated by Google) Impressive museum about the life's work of old Mr Bapterosses, who pretty much built Briare. From button factory to mosaic pieces and tiles in all shapes and sizes. Extra fun is the mountain of rejected tiles behind the factory where you can collect yourself. A bit lacking in detail. Sufficient English explanations and subtitles for the very instructive film. A pure gem! One of the most surprising church I ever visited. All decorated with Briare enamels. A must stop! Really worth a visit.
Cool, quiet with atmospheric music in the background. Fantastic mosaics and some stained glass
Friendly waitress. Very nice food for reasonable price.
(Translated by Google) The Church of Saint-Étienne is a Catholic church located in the commune of Briare, in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. Built between 1890 and 1895, it is notable for its distinctive Neo-Byzantine architectural style, combined with a Neo-Gothic bell tower that reaches a height of 56 meters. Its construction was financed almost entirely by the Bapterosses family, owners of the renowned Briare Enamel Factory, to replace an earlier 13th-century church that had been damaged by a flood and had become too small. The building has been listed as a historical monument since 1987. The interior of the church is particularly remarkable for its lavish decoration with mosaics made from the enamels of the local factory, designed by the artist Eugène Grasset. These mosaics cover the floor, walls, and vaults, creating a visual effect described as "a magnificent tapestry." In addition to the mosaics, the church has stained glass windows made by Félix Gaudin, also based on designs by Grasset, which include the unusual representation of the signs of the zodiac.

Very nice way to spend the afternoon eating lunch and taking a casual cruise. The food and wine was good. Don't go with the expectation of seeing a lot of sights other than the bridge. The guide presentation is in French, but they offer a written explanation in English. Best to visit the Briare Marine Museum before hand in order to have a full history.
Went on the 90 minute canal tour. Great opportunity to take photos of the Pont du Canal from the canal! Boat was good, but all the commentary is only in French. Even so, it was an enjoyable trip. There is a chance to buy postcards, coffee or ice creams in the booking office before or after your trip.
We have just returned from a trip to France, whilst there we went on a river cruise in Briare, we had a 4 course lunch and wine. The value was excellent, the staff very helpful and friendly. As we were the only English couple on board, they gave us a print out in English describing the details of the canal and its history, I'd like to thank all involved for making this a very enjoyable trip, and would happily recommend this xx
Very satisfying.. The staff are very nice❤️❤️❤️❤️
(Translated by Google) We had a great time aboard the Briare restaurant boat. We chose the "Land" menu, which we enjoyed, apart from the chicken, which was a bit dry, but the sauces and seasonings were very good. The dishes were served without much waiting, just what was needed to enjoy the crossing. The cruise commentator was very pleasant to listen to with humorous remarks. A cruise that I recommend.
(Translated by Google) The setting is great and we were very well received and helped to load the wheelchairs of the people we were accompanying. A small downside is the commentator who lacks joviality. Furthermore, there is not a single moment without words during the walk.

A fitting tribute to this remarkable town. Models and displays are a fine tribute to the staff. Visitors brochure available in multiple languages.
This is a nicely done local museum. Good to tour this for 30min before taking the canal lunch cruise so you know the history and don't have to translate the French, that is unless your into improving your French. In which case, try to read all the placards in the museum and listen attentively to the presentation on the boat. If not, relax, most everyone tries to accomodate in English for you.
An excellent museum and guide in English. Even at 10.30 in the morning the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Many Thanks
Lots of things shown here. Our small children liked it.
(Translated by Google) This museum is definitely worth the detour. You'd never imagine it contains so many treasures. In the 20 years I've been going to Briare, I'd never set foot there. The guided tour is of high quality, combining professionalism, precision, and humor. You'll discover the life of the boatmen on the Loire and the canals, the history and operation of the canals, locks, boats, merchandise, the famous Canal Bridge, and more. You'll find documents, photos, models, objects, and more—truly very interesting. And the best part... the welcome and the guide's speaking skills. Bravo! I highly recommend it. Bravo! Je vous le conseille.

(Translated by Google) The museum looked small from the outside, but it's actually quite large inside. Truly beautiful and well-made. The rooms are spotlessly clean and immaculately kept. Lots of artifacts and reconstructions of fishing-related environments. The price is super reasonable: €6 per person. Truly beautiful, I highly recommend a visit. WELL DONE, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. Very kind and gentle host who allowed us to taste the exceptionally good wines. Very small producers. Thank you for tolerating our ( not very good ) French . Would highly recommend a visit….. and buy some wine too 😁. Visited 27th September 24 from Northern Ireland.
First class wine and first class people. Our issue is with the language which we really do not now enough of BT fortunately we managed between us. 100% worgh calling in and buy some exceptional wine.
Discovered this winery at the market in Briare. We returned to the cave to purchase more wine. Lovely service and tasting. Top quality wines and great to meet and support a family winery.
Warm welcome and very good wine tasting. Only asked for the white wine to taste but had the full selection of red as well. Very good value.
(Translated by Google) Very good estate with whites with superb value for money and very good reds. Worth the detour. The Coteaux du Giennois appellation is little known and still very little speculative. Which means the wines are very good and still affordable. I remember a 2017 from Domaine Poupat, in white, absolutely delicious and an extremely reasonable price. Difficult to find better and as good these days.
