Jinnah Park in Rawalpindi is a bit of a mixed bag, offering a pleasant experience with some significant drawbacks. On the plus side, it's a vast green space, a welcome respite from the bustling city. The sheer size allows for a sense of escape, with plenty of room for walking, jogging, or simply relaxing under the shade of trees. The lake is a focal point, offering a picturesque view and opportunities for boating (though the condition of the boats themselves might be questionable). There are also various food stalls and vendors scattered throughout, providing reasonably priced snacks and refreshments. Families often flock to the park, making it a lively and vibrant place, especially on weekends. However, the park's maintenance is a significant concern. While the scale is impressive, cleanliness is inconsistent. Litter can be a problem in certain areas, detracting from the overall aesthetic. The condition of some facilities, such as restrooms and benches, leaves much to be desired. Furthermore, the security can feel lacking at times, leading to concerns about safety, particularly in the evenings. The crowds, while contributing to the lively atmosphere, can also become overwhelming, especially during peak hours. Overall, Jinnah Park offers a valuable green space in a densely populated city. Its size and potential are undeniable, but significant improvements in maintenance, cleanliness, and security are needed to fully realize its potential and provide a consistently enjoyable experience for visitors. It's a park worth visiting, but go with managed expectations regarding cleanliness and facilities. I'd recommend visiting during the day and perhaps avoiding peak hours for a more pleasant experience.

The park is some 25 mins away from Perl Continental Hotel. The walk is not recommended especially if you are unfamiliar with Pakistan’s traffic. There are few crossings to be made and they are not for the faint hearted. However, the park is very pleasant place to visit. My trip was on the Eid Al -Fiter public holiday, so it was buzzing with families having a fun day out with little ones and plenty to keep them occupied.
Jinnah Park in Rawalpindi is a 42‑acre (17 hectare) urban oasis that balanced recreation, relaxation, and entertainment when it opened in 2006, transforming the site of a former colonial prison into a lively communal space . Landscape & Atmosphere:- Upon arrival, you're greeted by immaculately manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and shady walkways. The park’s greenery offers a serene contrast to the bustle of Rawalpindi, making it ideal for leisurely strolls, morning jogs, or quiet afternoons under a tree . Families often spread out blankets for picnics, while fitness enthusiasts take advantage of jogging paths, outdoor gyms, and sports courts such as basketball and cricket nets . Recreational Amenities:- What sets Jinnah Park apart are its extensive facilities. There’s a full entertainment complex—“Megazone”—offering bowling, roller skating, arcade games, VR rides, and even an ice-skating rink and gym . Cinepax, Pakistan’s first multiplex, is also nestled within the park, featuring multiple screens and a high-tech experience . Though some visitors note occasional issues during screenings (e.g., crowd behaviour) , most praise the cinema’s quality and modernity. Dining & Convenience:- A variety of eateries and cafes line the pathways—McDonald’s (with indoor/outdoor seating and drive-thru), KFC, Subway, Second Cup, and more—ensuring you won't go hungry . There's also a supermarket (Metro Cash & Carry/Cosmo Cash & Carry), fountains, mosques, and plenty of shaded benches—an impressive level of visitor convenience . Cultural & Symbolic Elements:- Thoughtful design elements pepper the park. Four “Unity Towers,” each representing a province of Pakistan, and gazebos inspired by traditional headgear, reinforce national unity themes . A monument marks the site of the old gallows, a poignant reminder of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s burial ground, though it’s somewhat overshadowed by the surrounding entertainment facilities . Strengths & Areas for Improvement:- Reviews consistently praise the park's scale, beauty, and family-friendly atmosphere. A recent 4–4.5 rating on TripAdvisor/Google confirms its popularity, especially for day outings . That said, some visitors cite occasional cleanliness and upkeep issues—litter, worn benches, and subpar restroom facilities—especially during crowded weekends . Security concerns have also been noted in the evening, although visiting during daylight hours usually offers a safer, more pleasant experience. Jinnah Park is a vibrant, multifaceted destination—part scenic green space, part entertainment hub. It successfully caters to varied interests: families enjoying picnic afternoons, fitness enthusiasts jogging on leafy paths, cinephiles watching the latest films, and adventure seekers trying roller skating or bowling. The blend of aesthetic beauty, cultural symbolism, and convenient amenities makes it a flagship attraction in Rawalpindi. For an optimal visit, aim for a weekday morning or early afternoon; you'll beat the crowds, avoid the minor drawbacks, and fully appreciate the park’s charm. Just don’t go without a camera—between the lake, monuments, fountains, and towers, Jinnah Park offers memorable vistas at every turn.
Very calm and refreshing park. A must cost for relaxation and fun. It has activities for every one. My kids liked skating. A good day out. Better to have something along with to drink and eat of you want to save unnecessary spending on water and snacks.

Wonderful place. They have some of the antiques in collection like Maj Shabbir sharif's Triumph Thunderbird bike, Major Mohammed Akram's vespa scooter and Major Raja Aziz Bhatti's motorcycle. Other than these, the worth watching items are the official car used by the then Commander-in-Chiefs like Filed Marshal Ayub Khan, Gen. Musa Khan and Gen. Yahya Khan. And the preserve ceremonial uniforms of famous army personnel and chiefs of the past as well. Cleanliness, ambience and management are of top quality in typical army administrative fashion. Great place to visit with family.

Good place for kids. War history of Pakistan is beatifuly reflected through warfare, pictures, videos and models
It is an amazing place especially for army lovers and in general for every person. There is a wonderful display of historical items even from the Mughal era and world war. There are galleries in each hall specifying a certain time period/war. There is a gallery on nishan-e-haider, naval forces, underwater forces, aviation forces, air defence systems, intelligence forces and whatnot. It is a great place to see history from your own eyes. I totally recommend this place to every person. It really takes you to war times. Also the ticket is 50 pkr and free parking. The place is very well maintained and clean. It is near CSD and you can also find cafés and eateries nearby.
The Army Museum was established in 1961 in an improvised warehouse near General Headquarters for preserving and chronicling Pakistan Army’s history.
