A friend and I had a private tour as no one else was scheduled that day. The third was excellent and extremely informative. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We even had a bonus sample at the tasting afterwards. The Courvoisier location is absolutely beautiful asking the Charante river in Jarnac. I'd recommend a visit!

The visit to Courvoisier museum is a bit out of the way when compared to the convenience with which you can visit Hennessy or Martell. I had the good fortune of being dropped by a friend to the facility. So step one, sort your transportation first. Secondly, you need to register on the Courvoisier website scheduling a visit, they usually mail you back letting you know when you can come visit. This for me isn't really a great feature, because it makes it difficult to do a spontaneous trip if you are in the region. I had registered the previous night, and went to the facility without hearing back from them then next day morning. They couldn't find my request info, so they asked me to mail them and made arrangements to accommodate me. I began at 11am and opted for the 20 Euro tour which let's you taste VSOP Exclusif and the Napoléon paired with chocolates. I had a one on one tour with the guide. She was very warm and provided as much details as she could and was patient. This was my third Cognac house visit and while it offers the standard knowledge pack, Courvoisier offers something different from the others, they allow you to bottle and label your own Version from a hand picked barrel by the master blender. This has to be pré arranged however and would present as a unique experience. The video room was not functional when I visited, so I missed some content, the tasting session was great, one can simply not enjoy these beautiful drinks. NAPOLÉON was the clear choice for me. The chocolate pairings were amazing. My guide was extremely kind enough to give me a map of the Cognac region as she sensed my interest in the terrain and geography. She also gave me a small booklet on cocktail recipes with cognac. That was a nice added touch. The area surrounding Curvoisier is beautiful and very peaceful, so the trip is enhanced by that. Overall a good experience with room to improve. I will not share too many pictures as it might ruin the novelty of visiting the place.

I spent a week in this fabulous area of France some while ago in 1992 but, it’s long since I got the chance to review it. It is a great place by the River Charente and the tour of the Brandy Museum was incredible. Nevertheless it’s well worth the visit to see the large barrels in the cool cellar and much more. A pyramid of bottles in the foyer with the most expensive at the top. The weather was sunny and made it all the more enjoyable with the person I was with. A former girlfriend who I miss deeply.

The tour was not exactly as expected, I thought it would be more of touring the distillery or something more authentic, seems more like a PR room. It was a short tour but good if you just want a run down of the history of Courvoisier and cognac. Tour guide was very nice. What I did very much enjoy was the tasting at the end with a nice chocolate pairing.

When we looked to book for a tour and tasting on winetourism.com it also only hosted small groups ,up to 15 people compared to some of the others up to 60. When we arrived today a Wednesday it was just my wife and I and our host Eric. So a personal tour!! We did a tour ,discovered history and technical info about Cognac, saw the whole process from grape to glass that is all done in house. And of course tasted some awesome cognac and bought some to take home to New Zealand. Highly recommend this place, very special indeed!

A wonderful 10 days of cruising up and down the R. Charente between Angouleme and Saintes, with 13 friends on 2 boats. The Le Boat staff at Jarnac were very helpful, providing friendly and very useful service with boat introductions, destination tips, and extra linen. This is our second hire with Le Boat in France, and I recommend them highly.

Everything was arranged nicely by the local crew and they have been very friendly. However, the boat (Cirrus) itself was very old, had a big crash damage on the front and water leaked onto our bed every night. This was not, what I have expected.

We had a wonderful week on the Charante from Jarnac with Le Boat. The booking process and communication prior to the trip was clear and straightforward. On arrival at the boatyard our intended boat was unavailable but we were given a free upgrade. The river upstream from Jarnac was the most picturesque and we went swimming on several days in the river. We mixed evening meals out and on the boat - but do be aware that many French eateries have more restricted opening times than is usual in the UK - so plan accordingly! Obviously a great weeks weather helped but I would thoroughly recommend the Charante as a boating destination and wouldn't hesitate to book with Le Boat again

The people at Le boat Jarnac were excellent especially dealing with a very difficult situation. We had booked our 5th barging trip, a year ago on a vision 3 boat. 4 days before we were commencing the trip we were notified the boat was damaged and there was no other large boat available. We had 5 people booked for the boat and not everyone knew each other. Le boat could only offer us a much smaller boat, 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms which could be awkward. You can imagine our disappointment as we had flown from Australia, friends from the USA and New Zealand so we could not cancel it. When we explained the situation, Le boat then offered us 2 boats with the 2nd one being free. However after much consideration we felt it was challenging managing with 5 people and 2 boats so settled for one small boat, 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms. Not ideal but we managed. The team at Jarnac, were so helpful and did everything they could to ease our disappointment. They are an absolute credit to the organisation. Thank you Romeo and Amelie and to everyone trying to help rescue a potential disaster of a holiday. We still had a great time.

I can't offer much of an objective view as we just strolled along the lovely Charente at Jarnac. We saw Le Boats impressive fleet and commented how they would contribute to a fine holiday afloat.
