Just the best garden centre we've ever visited! Lots to see, superb variety of plants and shrubs and the layout is very impressive. Including the prices. Has animals too. Very nice café, lots of seating, both inside and out.
Such a wonderful place. We had lunch here and the food was well priced and excellent. We bought some plants and there was a huge selection and then we made friends with the animals there. A lovely afternoon out and would definitely recommend to anyone of all ages. A big shout out to all the staff who were so friendly and positive and also the chickens who made eating outside quite entertaining.
Lovely spot – great animals, plants, and food! I had such a great time at Badgers Hill Farm & Cidery! The animals are clearly well cared for – happy, healthy, and a joy to see. I especially loved how the ducks and chickens were free-ranging around the grounds. It adds such a charming, relaxed feel to the place. The range of plants was fantastic too – whether you're looking for garden staples or something a bit different, there's so much to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole site felt well-kept and welcoming. Topped it all off with some delicious food and drinks – everything was fresh and tasty. A perfect day out for animal lovers, garden enthusiasts, or anyone who just enjoys a peaceful countryside vibe. Highly recommend!
Amazing place. Great value large garden centre cantering for all your garden needs. Animals on site, chickens roaming around, lovely play area. Great value restaurant with super friendly staff. The children's burger and chips was actually hand made, proper beef mince and home made chips too. Great quality! We had a lovely peaceful day exploring. Will deffinatly be back.
Nice little place for an outdoor lunch. We both enjoyed our meal and the surroundings. Shame that they don't sell their own cider anymore. Wasn't a fan of all the chickens walking around whilst you eat your food tho, can imagine that would put people off eating here.
Came here on the recommendation of my brother and sister in law for breakfast. I ordered the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs with a latte. Its was not to busy had tables indoors and outdoors with a few open chalets. I chose a chalet and was given a numbered spoon. Not long before I got my latte then a few minutes later got my breakfast. Very helpful staff. The egg's and toast was hot and on a hot plate as the waitress pointed out. The eggs had weeped a bit so the toast was soggy. Good portion of eggs and smoked salmon. Nice thick brown toast. The scones looked nice so I will get one on the way out. I hot a fruit scone and it was good took it home and had it with lurpak butter.
Really good food, generous portions, great staff and the plants for sale are healthy and competitively priced. Outside there are huts selling ice cream, coffee, gifts, dog treats etc.
Lovely place, nice cafe and tea rooms, healthy plants at a good price. Amazing cakes, decent size coffees. Chickens etc to keep you entertained, nice booths if you want to eat outside. Highly recommended.

A very special place for me and my family. A beautiful church and graveyard where my nanna is laid to rest many years ago. The church stands proudly in the Chilham Square and is worth a walk through and pay respect.
Attractive flint walled church in a very picturesque village. The church is believed to date back as far as the 13th century, and is impressively large considering the small size of the village. The tower houses 8 bells and is a recognisable part of the village landscape. The large stained glass windows are a highlight. The church is open daily and easily accessible from the large free parking area at the edge of the village, less than 10 minutes walk away.
Stunning historical church is a beautiful Kentish village. Quite a large church for the size of the village and only history knows why. The castle is only a couple of hundred metres away
Beautiful church which we visited to remember our wedding there, 30 years ago. However, it was sad that no-one approached us or spoke to us after the service. Just one man smiled at us in passing. We got more friendly hellos in the village outside!
Visited today to ring for a wedding, lovely church , free car pack at the bottom of the square.
Beautiful church, easy access for wheelchair. In the prettiest village with a wonderful array of pubs and coffee shops. Well worth a visit. Free parking a bonus.
Terrific village church with excellent unusual monuments inside.
Lovely bells to ring, one dating back to 1690

Really nice place pretty on the inside gorgeous gardens
Your website says Open until 5pm today but gates closed and no answer from the phone number. So disappointed!! I lived in Chilham for 62 years and adore the village and especially the castle that I visited often, and was part of the school and church. Please update your website regularly.
Lovely gardens and great place for a picnic on a sunny day.
A fantastic garden, a wonderful experience.
Nice place to visit for an hour. Be sure to check if it's open though, as this does vary throughout the year. It is a bit of a misnomer, as you can only visit the gardens; the castle and the Keep behind are both private residences. But the grounds are lovely and peaceful. It's also worth taking time to walk around the tiny village, it's very picturesque. As a bonus, there is a choice of two good pubs or the tearoom if you fancy a bite to eat.
Lovely gardens, with a variety of beautiful plants. well maintained with different areas including a lake. Plenty of seating for relaxation and picnics. Maybe difficult for those with restricted mobility as the grounds are terraced with steps that do not have handrails. Will definitely visit again.
My mum, daughter and I thought we would make the most of the last few garden open days whilst the weather was so sunny. The gardens are absolutely beautiful! So peaceful and full of trees, flowers and gorgeous views! By the lake is a perfect spot for a picnic too :-) Highly recommended!
Wonderful house and gardens, flowers, was full of surprises and a lovely lake, we'll be back again 😊👍
The gardens are beautiful and peaceful, with stunning views overlooking the countryside. There are thoughtfully-placed seats across the gardens. A good place for a picnic but bring your own food and drinks. The house and the Normal Keep are enticing but visitors aren't permitted in those areas. The ticket office only accepts cash.
Beautiful grounds, well worth a stroll about if you're nearby and decent price for £6 each.

We had Our gathering and refreshments here after my Mother’s funeral and they didn’t fail to please. Staff were so helpful and the buffet amazing for a very reasonable cost. Coffee and tea on tap included. Very touched as I said I wanted to display some photos and other memories. They had the piano set up with candles and flowers and room on a little table in a little area. It was a such a lovely surprise. Also very recently had a meal with friends here. A lovely time had by all thanks to the waiter, chefs and the owner.
This pub has a lovely atmosphere but what really makes it is the staff. From initial booking to the warm welcome we couldn’t have received friendlier service. We had Sunday roasts and desserts, which were delicious. Great portion sizes, delicious fresh vegetables and big yorkie puds. Great value, incredibly dog friendly and a fabulous place to relax and unwind. Huge beer garden and spacious interior but with a cosy feel. Definitely recommend.
Very recently changed hands. New landlord is a former Royal Footman (according to local press). Simple pub menu but each dish executed well. I had the venison burger (excellent). Tthe fish and chips which came past me on the way to other diners looked (and smelled) spectacular. Good range of beers. Separate dining area. Attentive service without being intrusive. Comfortable armchairs and wood fire in the bar area. Wish I lived more local!
First time at this delightful pub. Very friendly staff and excellent service. The décor was to a high standard and spotlessly clean. Very good choice on menu and reasonably priced. Our group will definitely be back. Thank you White Horse Inn.
Food well cooked and nicely presented, we had the lamb special. When it arrived there were two small pieces of lamb which were extremely tasty, but here is the reason for only 3 stars, one of the meals there was almost no meat it was nearly all fat! When the waitress came to collect the plates we explained about the one plate that had contained almost no meat, she said she would speak to the chef, I'm not sure if she believed it was from one portion of lamb, but when she came back it was with a very insincere, the chef said sorry. We weren't asking for money off or another portion just an acknowledgement that for £20.00 that the portion of lamb should have been mostly lamb not fat. Which the chef must have known was mainly fat! It seems that no one really cares if the customer is happy. Very poor customer service. If you read most of my reviews they are positive but this time I'm sorry to say we were a very unhappy group of three.
The very best place to be. Very helpful. Really friendly. The food was very good and good value. I was so glad to have picked this pub for the wake. They done me proud. Thank you to all of the staff you were the best.
Great atmosphere. Food was lovely and the staff were very accommodating. There was a lot of us and they had their work cut out. Very impressed. Definitely would visit again.
Beautiful quiet little pub and restaurant. Offers lots! Great place for a quiet and cosy drink, lovely if your after a nice place to come for lunch or dinner. Huge rear garden and lots of events. Very nice staff and lovely decor. Would highly recommend

The Hideaway has recently reopened with new owners - a family run business who also run Shayda’s Turkish restaurant next door. Finally had chance to stop by for breakfast after seeing photos of the hot chocolate - which did not disappoint! Both of our breakfasts were lovely and freshly cooked. The sausages and bacon were perfect and tasty; definitely better quality ingredients than some places! Was a very pleasant and relaxing breakfast with friendly welcoming staff. Will be back soon for sure!
A great little place with freshly cooked food for breakfast and lunch. For children on the breakfast menu you can pick just the items they like which makes ordering very easy. I'm not a fan of the Black sheep coffee served here as I find it bitter but always happy to come here for the food. It's reasonably priced compared to other cafes in the area too.
Lovely food! Had greek bowls and they were delicious.
A little hidden gem in Folkestone. Opted for the halloumi gyros and a winter smoothie - both of which were delicious! Lots of choice and quick, friendly service.
I apologize , you sem to be disappointed with the review I first left you. Given your slightly indignant reply I have edited my rating to ensure it matches your attitude.
Very nice light bites had a Greek meze platter and it was lovely. Unusual teas, too (picture is butterfly blue tea which changes colour) Recommend it!!
Love it! Lovely staff, delicious food. Absolutely recommend it! Yummy for our tummies!
Had a lovely lunch here, was the start of kids holidays so was a little noisy but food, service and price very good.

Stained glass studio
Classes & Workshops
Slide 1 of 8
Just had a lovely weekend making stained glass at this workshop. The vibe was friendly and inclusive and the level of expertise on hand was incredible. It was great fun and the sense of accomplishment upon completing the project felt well earned. I cannot recommend these stained glass workshops highly enough!
I came a cross Mattts website late 2022. I completed a couple of courses initially her fused glass course. Then continued to her lead glass class. I loved it so much that I made a promise to myself and to Mattt that she would not be able to get rid of me and continued to attend her Wednesday class where I also completed foiled glass. I think Mattt has a great teaching technique. When I started she was very clear with her instruction and explained everything. She gave me confidence in my ability yet room to learn through my mistakes. Her knowledge, skill and attention to safety is outstanding and 3 years on I still have plenty of room for me to explore my individuality and safely push the boundaries and explore the exciting and inspiring world of everything glass. My only ‘complaint’ is that her studio must be built on a time vortex as time passes so quickly and 3 hours seems like 10 minutes.
I’ve just had an incredible weekend taking a leaded stained glass course with Mattt! I was nervous as I’d never worked with glass before, but her teaching style, support and care made the challenge feel manageable and so much fun! Alongside her teaching, Mattt was the most incredible host, with lovely tea breaks, delicious lunches, and even time to visit her Hens! A huge thank you to Mattt and if you’re thinking about booking, all I’d say is absolutely do it! I can’t wait to come back!
I recently attended a one-day glass appliqué class, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The class was both informative and fun, perfectly balancing technical instruction with hands-on practice. Our instructor, Mattt, was amazing—knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly passionate about glass art. She made complex techniques accessible and enjoyable, ensuring we felt confident and engaged throughout the day. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in exploring the beautiful art of glass appliqué. It's a day well spent, learning and creating in a supportive and inspiring environment. I also got the opportunity to meet with some wonderful hens and spent the day surrounded by a small group of lovely creative people!
I just spent a weekend with Mattt learning the basics of the traditional lead stained glass craft and I cannot express how much I enjoyed the experience and the process. Mattt is a brilliant teacher - she provided all the support a complete beginner like me needed but also encouraged me to think and be creative. I felt that she stroke a great balance between allowing me to work through things but also keeping close eye to ensure I am building good habits around the studio. Very pleased how my first ever panel of stained glass turned up and last but not least Mattt's hospitality and care is second to none, I felt truly privileged to learn in the environment she created. Thank you Mattt!
I have just finished a 6 week stained glass course here and honestly I have had a great time. Firstly, Mattt is amazing, her knowledge is excellent and I love the way she teaches. The studio is well set up, with Mattt always having what you need on hand. Can't actually believe I went from never having done anything like this to creating my first panel in 6 weeks. Once I have my main panel design and my glass selected I will be signing up again. Can't wait to go back.
Attended the 2 day Leaded Stained Glass course here a couple of weeks back and enjoyed every minute. A great learning environment, professional tools and equipment together with an skilled teacher in Mattt. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of taking up this beautiful craft 😊
We have just returned home from a fantastic weekend copper foiled stained glass course. Mattt is a wonderful teacher and host - she is clear and thorough in her explanations and demonstrations and we felt both encouraged and supported throughout the weekend. We thoroughly recommend this course to anyone looking to give stained glass a go and hope to be able to return ourselves in the future.

Great selection of antiques. Some of the items are pricier than what you can find elsewhere, but worth the extra money for having so many treasures curated in one place. We made a mistake by having a large breakfast before we came. The cafe's pastry options looked incredible and they were just popping what looked like home-made quiche into the oven. The cafe is certainly not a quick stop to peckish antique hunters, but rather also a destination on its own.
I bought my wedding dress next door at Bridal Boutique and got it altered at Alexander Sharpe. I then had a mooch around Bagham Barn Antiques and found a beautiful pearl and opal necklace which I wore on my wedding day as my 'something old'! A really lovely antique shop full of things! We spent a few hours here and had a much needed lunch in the cafe. The staff were all very friendly and the food was great. Definitely worth a visit!
A beautiful antiquitys place which is well worth a visit! Plenty of character and plenty of items to browse and aquire. The staff /owners were really lovely and very friendly. They even have a little tea room too!
A gem of a find. Lovely lunch and excellent cake. We sat in the garden as a sunny day. Trains run by very near and very noisy but I enjoyed this. Something different. Will definitely visit again.
Nice place with a nice cafe. Well worth the visit.
Tea room was excellent. Bacon sandwiches are to die for. Will be back.
Went to visit the tearooms and it’s new owners… what a lovely experience great food and lovely atmosphere will definitely be back 💕
Now called "Ri's Tearooms", this is a pleasant tea room at the back of Bagham Barn Antiques. Very friendly service and my husband said their carrot cake was one of the best he'd ever tasted. The toys for children were a nice touch - my toddler enjoyed her colouring and we enjoyed sitting outdoors for a quiet cuppa. We'll be back.

Had a beautiful Friday evening here, just food only and so we never had the chance to sample the hotel rooms. The food was amazing and the whole evening was a great experience, with Molly getting well into the mood with the Elvis tribute act, who was just superb and had us singing Elvis throughout the whole weekend. Suffice to say was had a delightful evening, made possible by the excellent service and food and the atmosphere.
Came for pub lunch rather than hotel. Lovely country boozer and the Ploughman's was excellent both in terms of quality and quantity. A seriously big beast but very tasty. Perfect stop on a countryside walk.
Review for pub not hotel: Our friends are renting a house nearby while they wait to buy, so we’ve visited The Woolpack Inn in Chilham with them twice recently — both times in the rain, and both times with our dog in tow. On our first visit we came for Sunday lunch, and I had the vegetarian roast which was absolutely delicious. The second time, we shared the vegetarian wellington and the ploughman’s cheese board — both generous and full of flavour. My partner had the Dubai cheesecake for dessert and really enjoyed it. The interiors are cosy and thoughtfully done, and the whole place has a lovely, relaxed feel. A really great pub — and properly dog-friendly too.
Fascinating historic pub in a beautiful English village. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Just one small moan in that the bathroom off our room was tiny with nowhere to put anything. However the bed was comfortable and we had a lovely stay. Sadly we didn't see the ghost!
Review for pub not hotel. We visited the pub for lunch and it was outstanding. Food and service first class, which is becoming a rarity. If you decide to visit the ploughman's is the best I have had for many years.
If you are in this part of Kent be sure to visit this lovely hotel set in a picturesque village. The food is delicious served by a friendly team. Thank you so much to Charlotte W for making us feel so welcome; we will definitely be back.
Just there for lunch. Gorgeous decor let down by very slow service and mediocre food. First waitress we had was good but she left and then we had no service- had to wave someone to come take our order, food took ages to come, and then chase someone to request the bill. No jug of water offered and we didn't get the one we asked for. Two of us ordered fish cakes that were bland and tasted more of mash than fish. Aldi or Morrisons do nicer ones! An expensive lunch that took ages and was disappointing.
Great beer selection, incredible food, fantastic service, gorgeous rooms. Calamari is the best I've ever had. The only negative is the WiFi. Connected on phone, and using Netflix on the TV in the room, and it's buffering every 30 seconds or so. Get better WiFi and you've basically got yourself a perfect hotel.
