Course: an old style tree lined course carved on a hill, very short course, in poor conditions but with good greens. More than 4 hours to play such a short course is surprising.

Visitors/Tourists beware. This course has a severe 'little man syndrome'. Its is quite picturesque, and seemingly well maintained by the ground staff. However, at only around 4500yds, it can hardly live up to its 'Augusta-like' attitude that it displays. My first day there, I was met very cheerfully by the front desk agents, who happily explained to me the basic rules and regs of the place. This included reference to dress code, and the need for an official 'Handicap' card or letter,, to allow one to not only play the course, but to utilize the practice area/driving range. I thought this quite odd, but I had my Golf Canada Membership/Handicap card ready. Anyway, all I wanted to do was use the range that day, and the staff happily sold me a couple of tokens for the range, along with a basic fee of 15Euros just to access the area. I will note that this range/practice area is no better than any basic municipal course that exists anywhere in North America. Balls were cheap quality (and undoubtedly restricted range). As well, shots greater than 200m were prohibited. The following day I went to the course to play a twilight round (60Euro to play from 17:00 til closing). The person at the desk that day had no problem selling me the pass, dressed as good as any with button/collared summer shirt and shorts. Two days later, I pop into the course later in the afternoon just to do some range work. First thing I am asked for (by the same individual with whom I had spoken with the first time) is my 'handicap card'.. which I provided with a smirk (Golf Canada Official Handicap Card/Membership).. and after some humming and hawing, he proceeds to explain to me that my shirt did not meet their dress standards..?? Nice low-key, button, collared short sleeve shirt..looking very much like the one in the example display they have at the desk.. Before I said something I might regret,, I quickly exited the premises with the thoughts that I do not want to have anything to do with a course like this, with its over-inflated image of itself and all its pomposity. All I wanted to do was hit some balls on a driving range. This course thinks far too highly of itself for what it is. Unfortunately, the other course close nearby (Sant Vicenc de Mont Alt) closed after Covid, and thus, Llavaneras has a monopoly on the area. If you come as a visitor, just be prepared to play along with the attitude,, or maybe just find a better course some 20-30 minutes away,, which there are.

Had a Great time playing this beautiful course over looking the Mediterranean sea. Nil, the caddie master was more than helpful offering to bring us food and drinks while on the course. After discussing our favorite Spanish Golfers he surprised my friend with a signed Sergio Garcia hat. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone visiting Barcelona. The course is in immaculate condition and the people working there were amazing. I will never forget playing here and if I'm back in Spain I will be sure to play here again.
