I had the pleasure of visiting Skouras Winery, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning scenery and warm hospitality. The staff were knowledgeable, welcoming, and passionate about their craft, making the tour both educational and engaging. The wines themselves are extraordinary—elegantly balanced and rich with the unique flavors of the Peloponnese terroir. The Moscofilero and the Megas Oenos were absolute standouts, showcasing the winery’s dedication to quality and innovation. Each glass told a story, with every sip offering a new layer of complexity and flavor. The tasting room was beautiful, with a perfect blend of modern elegance and rustic charm, creating the ideal setting to enjoy their exquisite wines. The pairing suggestions and insights provided by the staff enhanced the experience, making it both enjoyable and memorable. Skouras Winery is a true gem, and I highly recommend it to wine enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or just starting to explore the world of wine, this winery will leave you inspired and eager to return. A must-visit in Greece!
We had a private tour with Aris and met one of the owners Dimitri. We learned about the history of the Estate and sampled about 8 wines. We also bought a few bottles to take with us. If you are planning a tour or visiting the area, it a must to stop and experience the Estate.
We stopped by Domaine Skouras to taste wine, and even though they had a large tour coming in, they made a space for us on their spacious and airy patio and set us up with several tastes. Very good wines and friendly staff. Worth stopping by
Great tour and tasting. Very good hosts and good wine.
Very beautiful and well organized winery.Clean and stylish. I want to thank Elena, sommelier. For wine-tour and tasting ❤️
This is one of my favorite wineries in Greece with some exceptional wines. 👍🍷👍 I'm really fond of their red wines, and I also like their rosé wine. 😍👍 They are well organized for tours and wine tastings ... that I have enjoyed and always recommend! 👍😊
Nice winery, friendly staff, had a tour of their cellar, and tasting at the end of the tour of course!
We were 7 and we had a great visit. The winery is very beautiful, the wines are great. It is really a good place to visit and taste some wine !

If you are into antiquities and ruins, this is a definite must. We stay in Nafphlio, and it is a very easy bus ride over to Argos, less than 15 or 20 minutes I believe. The cost was €2 per person which is very reasonable. The theater is quite interesting and there is also a market across the street and the two Euros gets you into both of these sites. Personally, I think it is worth the price and walking around in the ruins. Trying to imagine what it would have looked like and seemed like so long ago. The advanced plumbing having a tank for water exhibitions as well as the water features in the market and ducts to separate water in the market is fascinating. It was wonderful to just walk around Argos afterwards and stop at a nice taverna for food. It was a day well spent.
An amazing theatre which is the worse for wear but worth seeing. $10 per person is a little steep for this site compared to some amazing larger and sometimes, free sites. But still ... atmospheric but be careful getting to the top and down again.
Amazing place. There is an entry fee. There is no dedicated parking, but we had no problem to find a spot on the street. A lot of to learn how years ago people enjoyed the theater and how they socialize.
It's a hidden gem. Real raw authentic ancient theater, not refurbished, everything is original. Far better than those touristised ones. Entrance is €10, including the opposite Roman forum. Best is this place is not touristy, I only saw 2-3 individuals. You can climb up to the almost top (the top edge, 4-5m up, is only for the expert rock climbers). There’s a path to walk down. Amazing place!!
Not particular well maintained, so I do hope the entrance fee does go to something useful! The amphitheatre is great and gives a good idea about how things looks before they are reconstructed. Some of the extended sites is closed off and has lots of rubbish and graffiti, which is a little sad.
The place is a wow, the area is a wow so close to Athens and easy to experience all of the lovely and historical things over the place. Near the place a walking distance also there are more things to watch. I loved the place go ahead and check it
You can only see the theatre other space was closed. They took 10 euros per ticket.
Fabulous experience, the steepest amphitheatre in Greece, hewn from the rock, remaining as it has been for thousands of years, as part of the same site is a further theatre. Carved in relief stones, and the remains of an amazing arched building standing 11metres high. A must do. €3 entry worth every penny

A beautiful castle which is free to walk around and gives breath taking views of the surrounding countryside as well as a birds eye view of Argos. The photos say it all. A good car park takes you to a short path leading up to the castle. The road from the main road is great albeit narrow!
A bit of a hidden gem in my opinion, completely free and a great stopover for any fans of medieval + Byzantine history (some portions are even Mycenaean in origin). It also has the best vistas of the town below and the nearby Monastery of the Virgin Mary. It's over an hour exploration if you take your time, and I would recommend climbing some of the sturdier ruins slowly.
Stunning views! Also really cool that you can discover the fort on your own (it's free). There are some signs about the different buildings here and there.
Free entry. Good shoes are helpful. It requires to walk up hill, but it is worth the effort. The view from the top is beautiful. Good history lesson.
One of many Greek historical sites, no entry fee, good parking and not particularly busy at all. Some great views of Argos and the rest of the plain beyond. You don't need long to visit and view it all, there are even some information boards up, but little information on them unfortunately. Come for the views.
Loved the views. There wasn’t much of a climb and that was great. Unique mix of different time periods apparent in the stone work. Enjoyed the castle walls.
It's a small fortress but is lovely. Not another soul is there at end November when I visited. walk from central Argos takes about an hour. about 20 minutes dirt trial & the rest is asphalt road. I really like the solitude.
If you like nature, it has the best view that you will see. Free entrance, and huge castle.

Museums
Slide 1 of 8
Contrary to an article that appeared recently in the Greek City Times, the museum is NOT open!
It's impossible to plan a visit in museums in Greece. Each one has their own time!!! Why??!!!
Very interesting and nicely organised exhibitions, however it's not the cleanest and a lot of the stuff aren't very nice.
Museum is closed, gardens are sometimes open, but not when we tried to visit.
This place is closed... It's nice in the garden outside (nice mosaics), but not much else to see...
(Translated by Google) The Museum of Argos is recent and modern, despite being located in a Venetian palace, previously already transformed into a stable (the stone troughs next to the ticket office are fun). From how shiny and well-finished it is, you'd think it was recently opened (or reopened). It is small (three or four rooms), but carefully set up, displaying the finds according to a didactic logic, briefly illustrating the various civilizations that followed one another in the city, from the classical civilization gradually up to the Byzantines, Venetians and Turks. It deserves to be placed at the end of the visit to the archaeological area, which itself takes little time. The museum does not present any absolute masterpieces (those that have been found have been taken to the large national museums), although I particularly liked the beautiful collection of Byzantine table ceramics. The two mosaics from the Roman era are also beautiful. The only flaw: the museum follows the current fashion of "catacomb-museums" of blocked windows, rooms as dark as cellars, with spotlights focused on the works, and small captions far from the finds (I'm short-sighted: for me reading them when they're put like that is painful). I know I'm fighting a losing war here, but I find this whim of the architects hinders the enjoyment of the exhibits. Sin. Peccato.
(Translated by Google) Another example of state indifference a museum...! A SMALL BUT IMPORTANT museum that has been closed FOR YEARS, while the biggest travel guides, like the lonely planet, they report (a little too much perhaps) and advertise worldwide, that the quality of its mosaics is superior to all the counterparts in Greece, Turkey and Italy!!!!! Tourism industry otherwise... (Original) Άλλο ένα παράδειγμα κρατικής αδιαφορίας ένα μουσείο...! Τουριστική βιομηχανία κατά τα άλλα....

Classes & Workshops
Slide 1 of 8
Another stop off point during our tour. The lady did a very interesting demonstration of the Pythagoras cup. I learned quite a bit about the clay and pottery they make at the shop. She mentioned that students are able to do pottery workshops too.
"Mycenaean Center Workshop" is located in the village of Fichti, Peloponnese, not even 4km from the ancient citadele of Mycenae. In this workshop you can learn about and experience the Mycenaean pottery, but also buy actual replicas of ancient Greek (not necessarily Mycenaean) artefacts. The workshop-shop offers a variety of activities: - demonstrations: skilled artisans create replicas of ancient pottery using traditional techniques - practical pottery classes: visitors create their own "masterpieces" using the potter's wheel - visiting the workshop: following the stages of making ceramics - shopping: replicas of handmade Mycenaean pottery and many other souvenirs (statuettes, textiles, decorative objects, jewelry), all bearing the imprint of ancient Greek art The hosts are very kind and help us to choose the most suitable souvenirs. As far as I understand, purchased products can be properly packaged and shipped via postal services and can also be purchased online. Very interesting for us was the presentation of the operating of the "Cup of Pythagoras" ("Cup of Justice") invented by the famous philosopher-mathematician (circa 580-495 BC) to distribute the wine equally, any excess leading to the total loss of the drink.
Very useful shop with replicas of Ancient Greek marble-like statues, pottery, iron-like items, painted in old style by the students at the Arts School. There are big and small artefacts, imitating objects that were 2400 years old or more, something suitable for every taste and every budget.
An impressive selection of handmade pottery, statues, jewelry, and other modern artifacts and gifts. The demonstration and descriptions were very informative.
Truly amazing to see the ancient pottery practices alive today. So thankful to have been brought here on a tour, everyone there is so nice! They know the history and the secrets behind the art
Pretty cool ceramics store they have alot of hand made items with decent prices they also said it was a ceramics and jewellery school I would definitely come here if you’re a fan of ceramics and jewellery like me
Educational and a great site for Greek pottery survivors.
Amazing museum quality replicas of ancient Greek statues and pottery. One of the few workshops worldwide that recreated the ancient three-phase firing technique for pottery. You will be amazed to ding a ceramic vase with your finger and it will sound like it's made from metal!

We dropped in randomly and Antonis was a wonderful host. They showed us around and let us try their very good wines along with a host of small bites. The hospitality on display is really second to none. Antonis shared history and conversation with us and we departed with some great wines. This was one of the more unique things we’ve done in Greece and will be incredibly memorable.
Antonis was an amazing host, and gave a great tour of his amazing wine journey. His wines are excellent and you would be disappointed if you missed his winery if you're in the Peloponnesian peninsula. His olives are also amazing. Stop by for a visit and pick up some of his wines for your collection. Thanks so much Antonis.
Visiting the Papantonis Winery was an amazing experience. The taste of wine and the atmosphere of this place makes us very comfortable. Wonderful Georgia cared about us all the time, telling about this fabulous place.
We decided to drop by this winery on the go and it was absolutely wonderful. Antonis gave us a tour and arranged a stunning tasting experience with two of his wines and our favorite snacks including olives, cheese and stuffed grape leaves.
What an amazing place. Host is very nice and the wine and food they give you is great. I liked both wines that make, but I am a beer guy more than a wine guy. They are so friendly. It is very small. Highly recommend it.
What a delightful gem of a winery and owner! The owner went out of his way to make our visit special - it's €10 a person for a generous tasting (in Aircon). Highly recommend !
Wonderful team, lovely hosts, amazing wine.
Great winery you can visit to refresh yourself after walking around the historical sites around. We liked both their reds and whites, they went grey with cheeses and olives, and the owner is a very nice person, we chatted a bit while tasting... highly recommended!
