Unforgettable Adventure with Killary Fjord Boat Tours! Our family had the most magical experience with Killary Fjord Boat Tours—an absolute highlight of our trip! From the moment we stepped on board, we were greeted by a wonderful team of professionals who made us feel welcome and ensured we had an incredible journey. The cruise through the fjord was nothing short of breathtaking—the stunning landscapes, dramatic cliffs, and shimmering waters left us in awe at every turn. It felt like sailing through a postcard-perfect dream! A special thank-you to Captain Gordon—you truly made this adventure unforgettable for my boys! Not only did you share fascinating stories about the ship, but you also let them "steer" the ship and showed them the ropes (literally!). Their faces lit up with excitement—it was a dream come true for my little sailors. Thank you for your kindness, expertise, and passion—it’s clear that your team loves what they do, and it shines through in every detail. We will definitely be back! Until next time, Killary Fjord! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting—pure magic from start to finish!
A golden opportunity to experience the beautiful landscape from the seaside, even though there was a strong wind it was like driving in your car , steady. Food was lovely and they tell you the story about the area. The staff was so dedicated to give us all a fantastic trip
The tour was great. The Fjord is truly beautiful place. We had amazing trip. The boat comfortable, you can relax drink a tea o coffee. If its raining you can sit inside.
Was it worth the price? Hard to say. 27 Euro for 1,5 hours boat trip seems not too expensive. However you go just out and back again with a recorded voice reading out the leaflet available on board. The landscape is very nice, but not spectacular and the ride adds nothing what you can't see from the road. Dolphins are not guaranteed, we did not have luck. So, all in all, I'd say: save the money and have a nice lunch.
Lovely boat trip through the killary fjord food & drinks available on the boat, staff are very friendly, the scenery is absolutely beautiful trip is about 90mins boat has facilities well worth a trip & reasonably priced a joining village on Leenaun another beautiful area to explore plenty of cafe, pub/restaurants etc
Very nice chilled cruise=) Savage views!! Was very windy on the day, flat calm and no rolling. Stable vessel ⛴️
The Killary Fjord boat tour was a great experience, there was both indoor and outdoor seating, and pets were allowed on a leash outside. The onboard commentary was very interesting, and service was friendly. The views were breathtaking. Highly recommend this experience!
Nice cruise to the mouth of the fjord. Beautiful views. Remember to take your jacket as it gets cold in the water

We visited Killary Sheep Farm in April, 2025. The farmer and tour guide Tom was extremely friendly and welcoming. He told us so much about how the farm operates and how unfortunately sale of wool isn’t as sustainable as it was. Therefore keeping up this farm visits and sharing it with family and friends is so important. Besides this Tom showed us how his sheep dog, Molly herds. This was really fascinating and informative. He explained everything really well and the demo is on the side of this beautiful hill looking over the Killary fjord. Amazing views from the drive out to the destination. Feeding the lambs was a great laugh, we had all just finished an exam, so this was the best way we could’ve wound down. We were so lucky to have this and such a fab day. Tom recommended a beautiful beach 15 mins away, Glassilaun. Great for a dip, a little chilli but again amazing views. I couldn’t recommend this spot more, such a treat of a day out!
Such an incredible experience and a top highlight for our visit to Ireland! Rex (the hardworking demonstration dog) was incredible to watch and was so sweet! His owner was incredibly informative and answered my laundry list of questions about his farm, training, and general information about sheep farms. This is a must-see for anyone visiting Ireland!
We were at Killary Sheep Farm on a rainy Wednesday. That didn‘t spoil the experience in the least, however. We were really impressed by the dog, Rex, and how well he worked with the shepherd (whose name I didn‘t catch). The latter didn‘t even have to raise his voice over the wind and the patter of the rain. He explained to us what was happening and why, and the backdrop was just mesmerizing. Would definitely recommend!
Wonderful sheep farm! The views are picturesque. We saw an impressive sheep dog demonstration, a sheep sheering demonstration, and got to pet and bottle feed lambs. Only downside was they did not have enough bottles for everyone who signed up to individually feed the lambs.
We visited in September and thankfully had wonderful weather as it is all outside. You get to watch the sheepdog at work, moving the sheep around the field and into the pen at the top. You then learn more about the sheepdog, their training and can ask any questions. We also got to stroke Rex, such a good boy. Due to the time of year we didn't get to see sheep shearing and there were no lambs but I highly recommend, it was amazing to watch and learn.
What a great experience in such a beautiful location! Rex (the Sheepdog) was the obvious star if the show and did an incredible job!
So glad we decided to do this! What a fantastic experience! Beautiful farm and beautiful view. Highly recommend making this a part of your Ireland experience!
We did the sheepdog tour. It was very interesting. We learned about how they trained the dogs. Rex, is 5 years and in his prime. He demonstrated moving the sheep by voice commands. We were shocked at how acute his hearing is. Next we watched a hand shearing of one of the ewes. The group then bottle fed a few lambs. We were allowed to take pictures holding the lambs if you wanted. It was well worth the drive to visit the Killary Sheep Farm. All said there were 26 different people there and most of them ended up at the Kylemore Abbey afterwards. The farm is about an Hour 15 minute drive from Galway.

Large viewing area as you drive down the WAW North route towards the harbour, where there is more parking and hostelries for food drink & gifts.
An absolutely beautiful spot to watch a sunset with ample parking and nice village close by .
Beautiful place, stunning view of the Killary Fjord. The Aran Islands can be seen from here.
Breathtaking, outstanding stunning natural place . One of Ireland's top 5
It is not possible to arrive at this point, it’s private property! On the way the view is nice though.
Stunning scenery, killary fjord, is the only fjord in ireland, this is a must see place, there's also a cruise you can go on too
Famine memorial was an intense visit. I cried, my wife cried, and several native irish visitors were weeping in openly obvious grief and heartache of the perished Irish. The many hardships of a gregarious nation brought to their knees by the British. The Irish populace who could've used the help from the British isles in doing their best to assist a neighbor in need of their help, which never came. The only thing the Irish got from the brits was their pity and disdain. The brits wonder why there is a sore spot on the hearts of the Irish!! There it is!!! Great Memorial!!

Tour bus stopped here for food, bathroom & souvenirs. Plenty of gifts to choose. Good location & nice scenery!
Charming, hands-on, and great gift shop and cafe where we enjoyed some hot drinks on a rainy day. The Sheep and Wool denim felt like stepping into living history. Loved seeing the whole process and trying out the spinning wheel myself. Our demo's guide was fun to chat with and really made the experience special for us.
Glad you like the photos! Share away. We had a great time! Seamus is an amazing wealth of knowledge!
The cafe at the Connemara Sheep and Wool Centre is worth the 5 stars, especially the seafood chowder (and it is alcohol-free! So hard to find shops that don’t use white wine in their chowders). We ordered one for taste, and ended up ordering another bowl. Full of flavour and chockfull of fish and crab meat. The apple crumbles (we had ones with blue berry and another blackberry) had the right crunchy crust and crumble. The tartness of the apple is 😍. Coffee is good too. I guess if we ate everything, they’d all probably tasted just as good (my sister even contemplated on getting another crumble as we wiped our chowder bowls clean). Alhamdulillah for good food!
During our week in Weston Ireland we stumbled across the Connemara Sheep and Wool Centre. Seamus is a real character and had us in stitches. We both had a go spinning wool and came away with home made wooden brackets. I real enjoyable afternoon very good value for money and I would recommend it
the gift shop is great, the FOOD and cafe is AMAZING. the coffee and fresh baked pie and cookies were exactly what we needed on the chilly day we visited. We also ordered soup and sandwiches which were huge and very filling. But the best part, was the staff. Both the gift shop and the cafe staff were kind and friendly in helping with local suggestions and speedy service. Highly recommend!
Our family very much enjoyed learning how to make yarn from wool. This was a wonderful experience and I highly suggest this for all ages. We took our 5 yr and 6 yr daughters and they are still talking about it.
Got slippers as a gift, but was left disappointed. The slippers are warm and comfortable, but the quality is poor. They don’t look like they did on the website, and one of them is crooked. The sole is of very low quality - for about two months, little circles kept falling off and covering the floor. After just a couple of months, the slippers already looked shabby, even though they were not worn on a daily basis.

Summer Camp Review Chloe and Ruby had an absolutely brilliant time at camp this summer! They loved the whole experience and made loads of new friends along the way. Their favourite activity was Ringo Riding – they haven’t stopped talking about it! Chloe also really enjoyed the Turf Challenge, which added to the fun and adventure of the week. Ami and Xavier were their standout leaders – both girls felt especially connected to them – but all the leaders were genuinely lovely, welcoming, and supportive. The accommodation was great – the rooms and beds were comfortable and clean, and the facilities overall were excellent. The food was really nice too! That said, Chloe recommends bringing a little stash of snacks if you’re someone who likes a nibble at night! All in all, they had the best time and are already looking forward to going back next year. Highly recommend!
I did the Turf challenge with my son (14) and it was a lot of fun. I would suggest to do it in a bigger group though as this adds a fun competition aspect and more laughter. They have a lot of old shoes from people who left theirs behind after the activity so eventually there is no need to spoil your own shoes. The guide took a lot of pictures - so we have good memories :)
I couldn't fault this place. My 12 Yr old went with a group of school friends. He said the staff were really nice. He loved the activities and walks. He is a fussy eater and raved about the food. I emailed to get some recipes and they happily obliged. Devices are limited to 1 hour a day to ring home, listen to music etc, so if you have a tech kid this place is great for the soul. They really take care of the children and have good fun.
Probably best camp ever. The staff were very friendly and the food was nice. We got to do 2 activities per day and they were mind blowing. Alex and brenda were the best coaches ever. They were friendly and fun. You should definetly bring your kids here and show them this camp as this is awesome.
Super zip lining, aerial trekking. Course is challenging but great fun.
I really enjoyed the place and the activities. The rooms were very good and comfortable. The food could be improved, but overall it was a great experience. A staff member named Angel, who led the activities, treated us very well and was extremely friendly.
We had an amazing experience. We did a full day of a activities, the zip lining followed by the bog challenege. Every was so nice, welcoming and informative - well everyone except the girl on reception with glasses and curly black hair, she was beyond rude and should not work in customer service. Nonetheless we didnt let her ruin our day.
If I could give this less then 1 star I would. Most staff/instructors were incredibly rude and disrespectful. Especially Cian and Rory who were very rude through out the whole experience and were plain nosy inputting them selves in personal conversation that never concerned them. The food was stone cold and utterly uneatable at times there were zero vegetation , gluten free or vegan options for people with those dietary requirements unless you would like to eat a plate of extremely over salted vegetables every meal. Many instructors were very pushy to do things that you were uncomfortable doing like some of the water activates that many people are just unable to do due to past trauma or just over coming fear. I was given a MOLDY pillow that I slept on for two nights as I was unaware of the mold on it I was utterly disgusted with this whole situation. This was a horrible experience I would be embarrassed to recommend this place to anybody

Beautiful expansive beach with 6-8 car park space with public toilet facilities. The beach itself is very near to the car park and is very clean. A White sandy beach with shallow coast.. however I was very surprised to see lots of Jelly fishes, all along the beach making almost a barrier to be crossed!!.. My son got so frightened once he got to know what they are, that he didn't crossed that barrier and was happy enough to stay towards the safer side.. All in all we enjoyed it and definitely recommended!!
Visited here in early November 2024 on a whim and was blown away. It was incredibly windy and cold but the color of the water made me feel like I was in the tropics. A beautiful little beach I happened to have all to myself, if you can visit, you should!
Wow!! Just wow!!! This place has etched a deep meaning in my heart of true beauty. The feeling of serenity, peace and love truly filled my inner being while we visited this incredible gem of a beach on our Spring vacation! We will ABSOLUTELY do our BEST to come back and visit this magical place every time we are in the area! Well worth the stop and enjoyment! What a spectacular place that exists in this world 😍🤩
One of the most breathtaking beaches in Galway. Child-friendly, but no toilets. The car park is very small.
Beautiful peaceful spot. I can imagine on a clear day be magic. There are chemical toilets but little parking. Loads of jellyfish which is very unusual for this time of year
Lovely clean beach. We went here for a dog walk. The road to the beach was narrow but the beach was great. The water was clean and there was a good amount of people but not too busy. The carpark was kind of small
Stunning place, amazing view, beautiful beach. I love it
Off the beaten path a bit but well worth the drive. One of the cleanest beaches I've seen and beautiful white sand! Decent amount of parking as well.

Stunning drive from Westport to Clifden. Breath-taking wide, long glacial valley. Salmon streams & wiers.
Fairytale place, driving on the side of the valley you want to stop every second to breath with your eyes all what you can see. If you can make a detour it’s worth doing it. It’s a place one of a kind !
From all angles looks amazing and the road that leads to ot has incredible scenery

I recommend this company with no hesitation! We couldn't ask for anything better. They are all very welcoming, nice, kind and, above all, helpful: my boyfriend hurt himself during a hiking, and Irmi did everything she could to help us. She was literally amazing and made us feel safe, supported and worry-free. The trips and transfers were very well-organized. If we will ever come back to Connemara, we would contact them again! Thank you for everything
This was a brilliant short break and a great introduction to Western Ireland. The walks had just the right amount of challenge and variety; trip notes and downloaded routes spot on; and the hotels were excellent. Best of all was the team. Every pick up was on time, requests were dealt with straight away and Irmi, in particular, went the extra mile with a smile.
What a wonderful time we had! Honestly, I went in with low expectations. Friends and family who had traveled to Ireland before told me the food was poor, the accommodations were just “okay,” and that most of the experience centered around bars and castles. One even said, “You don’t go to Ireland for the scenery, you go for the pubs.” Well, that was not my experience at all. Connemara Adventure Tours provided us with a trip to remember! We chose the Lazy Days Cycling Tour, and it exceeded every expectation. The accommodations were incredible—full of culture, history, and the spirit of Ireland. Some hotels were truly outstanding, one even with a heated outdoor pool and three heated outdoor jacuzzis. Every meal was excellent: gourmet dining at the hotels, and when staying at B&Bs, wonderful food at local pubs. My wife ordered an enormous pot of local mussels—perfectly seasoned—and enjoyed every last one with a pint of Guinness. The scenery was breathtaking. You can’t fully experience Ireland from a car—you need to be on a bike. We chose e-bikes, which I highly recommend even if you’re a strong cyclist. The terrain is moderate, but the wind can be tough, and the e-bike lets you focus on enjoying the ride rather than exhausting yourself. Of course, we also enjoyed the lively pub scene and traditional music, especially in Galway and Clifden. But for us, it was the landscapes—rugged coastlines, rolling hills, and quiet country roads—that stole the show. If you’re considering a trip to Ireland, don’t hesitate. Go with Connemara Adventure Tours. They made it easy, comfortable, and unforgettable.
Connemara Adventure Tours gave me an experience of a lifetime in Ireland. I got to see a beautiful country and people. I really appreciated the work Connemara Adventure did, and I was grateful for how available, accommodating and flexible they were, all with kindness! I highly recommend them!
Best guide ever, thank’s to dearest Irmi! Connemara and Islands gave us memories for life! The nature was breathtaking, the people were kind and the places we ate and slept were great.
Connemara Adventure Tours was subcontracted by InnTravel with which we booked a week summer walking holiday in Ireland. They were excellent : timely pickups, professional while friendly, and worked with us to make adjustments and customise our trip further. They know the area very well - down to what time places get busy! Highly recommended.
Connemara Adventure Tours was our great local tour company that took care of us during our self guided tour through Connemara. They were wonderful & aimed to make our cycling trip as enjoyable as possible! Cycling was the perfect way to see Ireland! We loved everything about it..our accommodations, the locations, landscapes and the food! The first day was the most challenging of the cycling days with the hills & terrain. My only suggestion is to confirm your bike size is correct. Mine was a medium upgraded hybrid bike which should have been a small. The bike was to big & heavy making the first day's ride more challenging for me, but I wouldn't have traded my experience of riding that day for anything! I did receive the correct size bike for the remainder of the trip. We had three exceptionally beautiful clear days and two very rainy days, which we were prepared for since we brought rain gear suggested for the trip. We had a true experience of Ireland weather! I would definitely recommend this cycling trip and Connemara Adventure Tours for anyone who is looking for an amazing adventure!💚🇮🇪💚 --
My husband and I (both active people in early 60’s) just completed a custom cycling tour through Connemara Adventure Tours and it was the trip of a lifetime. Roxane and Irmi worked with us to make a route and itinerary that perfectly suited our needs and created a magical trip that we will always remember. Organization was top notch, the route, accommodations, and activity and restaurant recommendations were all spot on. We highly recommend this company, They are professional, friendly and thorough. Couldn’t ask for anything more!
