A beautiful lake with gorgeous emerald color… a walk around it is recommended, route is very easy, benches along the way, there’s an area where you can lay down and relax, information boards about the flowers and birds, trees of the lake. There’s also a convenient bar/restaurant halfway along the route. Worth visiting!
This lake is so underrated and we only discovered it while going for a run! It is very quiet and serene, and you can enjoy fantastic views away from the crowds. It is around 2.5km around the lake, and is a nice place to jog or take a walk.
Fantabulous lake and scenery all round, with its dark green coniferous forests, the breathtaking Rieserferner mountain chain and, in the midst of all this, the shimmering turquoise-green water. This is the dreamlike scenery of the lake called Antholzer See, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Alps ! An idyllic pearl of the Blue Valley is the third largest mountain lake in South Tyrol. Located at the head of the valley, it is also very close to the well-known Staller Saddle mountain pass and Austria. At an altitude of approx. 1,640 m, families, nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy countless activities in the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park all year round.
The nicest lake I visited in the dolomites. Easy to moderate trail around the lake.
really nice and easy walk around the lake, even during strong rain there were no difficult or dangerous sections. There's free parking 50 m or so before the paid parking. One hour or less to go around if you're in a hurry. Toilets in the sports complex were accessible at the time, not sure if they would be after/before work hours.
Wonderful place among stunning mountains. The surrounding landscape is definitely beautiful and the natural colors of the water and the fauna are amazing. The walk around the lake takes about one hour and is recommended if you want to see the lake from any point of view.
It's really a lovely lake. You can walk around it. But be prepared for crowds. Especially on the weekends. Parkings are starce, recommend going with public transport.
We really liked the tour around the lake. We arrived around 9.30 and there was not too many people, so not too crowded to walk around. The playground at the middle of the tour is really nice if you have some kids. A very easy walk that can be complete in 1.5 hrs or more if you stop around the lake for some pictures.

Beautiful place to ride my motorcycle 🏍️💨
A very beautiful place and he landscape is amazing. To pass from Austria to Italy there is a one way road, so you have to wait 45 minutes and you then you have15 minutes to pass.
Very, very nicely curved route (at dry weather of course😉)
(Translated by Google) Very suggestive, one of the most beautiful steps to take by car or motorbike. Also beautiful in winter (closed to cars) to reach on foot and return by sleigh.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful to do by motorbike, the only thing is that you have to calculate the arrival time at the pass well because if you are a little late with the day's schedule, 45 minutes of waiting to pass is a lot😅.
(Translated by Google) The tour of the lake right at the pass is very beautiful. Parking at the pass makes it easy to hike with children and swim directly in the lake on the way back. The only problem is the transit times.

(Translated by Google) Today I did the biathlon shooting for everyone with Gerhard and we had a lot of fun and at the same time opened our eyes a little to what great achievements a biathlon athlete can achieve. Gerhard explained everything very calmly, took time for each participant and answered various questions for us. (Translated by Google) A great team! We were there in the first week of February 2025 for the cross-country skiing course (classic). Rudi was a great ski instructor: careful, clear in his statements as a teacher, attentive, helpful. I always felt well looked after and in good hands at the ski school and learned a lot. Thanks! We'd love to come back :-) (Original) Ein tolles Team! Danke! Wir kommen gerne wieder :-)

(Translated by Google) We booked the biathlon adventure week through the ski school and were welcomed directly to the hotel by the ski instructor Isidor on the first evening. There we were explained what the next week would be like and all of our questions were answered patiently. We were able to rent ski equipment at a reduced price through the ski school's ski rental service. We did cross-country skiing (skating) for the first time and were very well introduced to the first technique with basic exercises. On the second day we went to the cross-country ski trails outside the stadium and continued to do some exercises here too. Isidor always corrected us individually, recognized our mistakes, put himself in the shoes of the ski students and adapted the exercises accordingly so that everyone achieved success. Isidor also carefully introduced us to shooting and we gradually learned the techniques. Here, too, he corrected individually and was able to correct the smallest errors, for example in posture. We repeatedly looked at the shot pattern together and continued to work on the finer points of shooting. We shot both lying down and standing up. At the end there was a “Gaudi race” which was a lot of fun! The snowshoe hike off the beaten track through the snowy forest was also a very nice experience. Overall it was a very, very nice week. We had a lot of fun, laughed a lot and felt welcomed by the repeated visits to the mountain huts with the ski instructors. You developed very quickly and noticed progress. We were always challenged and supported, but were never overwhelmed. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Isidor and Christian once again for the great time. We would love to come back and recommend the school to everyone!
(Translated by Google) An unforgettable experience! We booked the "Pleasure Week." The team of ski instructors was fantastic at accommodating us and our individual needs. We'd go again anytime! (Translated by Google) Great piece of history. The hike up is sometimes very steep but definitely doable. It took us about 40 minutes from the parking lot at a slow pace with a few breaks. The view and the ruins are definitely worth the walk up. Despite the trip on Sunday, we were completely alone for the entire hike and also the time at the ruins! Fantastic. Traumhaft.
The castle of Altrasen can be found at the end of a narrow and steep path. Mountain equipment is recommended to get to it. The castle was built in the 12th century and was the home of Rasun Lords. Unfortunately, it fell into ruin during the 16th century and today just a bunch of outer walls can be appreciated.
Hiked 3/4 of the way up in the middle of October before we saw a sign stating the trail was closed until the end of October… would have been nice have the sign at the bottom of the trail. 30 minute hike up hill to get to the ruins from the parking place. The ruins were probably lovely… we will never know.
(Translated by Google) I went to this place with the emblematic name, after two attempts, the signs at the beginning said 20 or 30 minutes ... but looking at Google Maps I always found myself off the route (!) ... then little by little following a beaten path I realized that the destination was close, immersed in the fir forest and uphill ... finally I'll get there I kept repeating to myself to convince myself that I was on the right path! Then, finally, you see some stones, some neatly arranged rocks and... here are the MUCH-VALUED RUINS, I imagined the knights of a thousand years ago, with their loads, the locals who governed the valley... but the total time didn't add up, anyway, trust me, this adventure WAS worth it, the sun in the late afternoon was starting to shine and when a sign (!) said we had arrived, well, a sense of satisfaction emerged from the scoldings and curses I had launched during the ascent, convinced, as always, that Google was right 😄🫠 (Original) mi sono recato in questo posto dal nome emblematico, dopo due tentativi, i cartelli all'inizio dicevano 20 o 30 minuti ... invece guardando Google Maps mi trovavo sempre fuori percorso (!)
(Translated by Google) You leave your car at a small cemetery, it is also forbidden, on Sundays parking has no time limit. Follow the path to the ruins, about 30min. Not suitable for strollers!!! following the asphalt road at a certain point, 200/300m away you will find signs on the right for the ruins and you begin a path in the middle of the woods. If you want to go with your family, ok but: no strollers, yes mountain backpacks for children, yes sneakers or trekking shoes and no Sunday shoes, you go up for a while, for those who are not trained it is a little tiring. At a certain point, on the right there they are!! wonderful! a shame not to visit them, there is a small picnic area with a basket. Like rude people to leave rubbish in a place like this.
(Translated by Google) Castle ruins, not boring and nothing special. Perhaps a little smaller than expected, but definitely worth a quick look.
(Translated by Google) The ruins can be reached from the parking lot at the cemetery via a steep descent in the forest in about 25 minutes. There are picnic facilities at the ruins in the form of a bench and table. Unfortunately, the ruin is quite small and you can't see much of it other than a few walls.
(Translated by Google) After a stretch in the woods you suddenly arrive at this discreetly restored place, which winds along the crest of a slope opening onto Resun below. The silence, the trees, the arrival from the woods: it's worth a half hour walk.
