It's a beautiful romantic castle. Quite big and lots to see. Very interesting information about the chambers. You get a real sense of what it must have been like in its hayday. Plenty of towers to climb up and incredible views. I loved it.
One of the most beautiful castles I've ever visited. It was made even more special by Pete, whose enthusiasm and knowledge really brought the place alive. This is a must see for anyone visiting the area.
Cadw members go free. Plenty of parking. Beautiful castle and moat with plenty to explore. We spent about 2 hours here. We walked up and down so many steps, but it was worth it for the views across the nearby areas and the views down over the castle interior. Lots of information boards to tell you about the history of the castle. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area, or even as a combined holiday to visit some of the other nearby castles.
An absolute must if you’re traveling through to stop off here . If there’s little space in the car park , go around back around the roundabout and park up before the entrance . I did in a motorhome . The castle is just stunning , an amazing castle , must see .
This was another great Castle to visit in the Cardiff area. Raglan Castle is about a half an hour drive away from Cardiff, but still worth it for a day trip or an afternoon to get out and see it. It is quite a large castle with a lot to see. We probably spent about two hours, walking around the castle, checking everything out. It is a shame that when the siege was lost at the castle, many parts of the castle were knocked down to prevent it from being used again. It is a very cool castle, and a must see for sure!
We stopped here for an hour on a motorbike trip. You could easily spend double this to see the castle properly. It's a fantastic place to visit, full of interesting history, architecture and some small, but clever exhibits. Very welcoming and helpful staff, fantastic views from the top and time well spent. Worth going out of your way to visit. Definitely one of the top castles in Wales.
An amazing site to explore. Adults and kids both loved it. Kids in particular enjoyed the quiz they could play along the way. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable too, and the site (apart from upper floors of the ruin) is dog friendly.
Castle Raglan was amazing. One of the best preserved castles with a real moat too. There was lots of exploring. I would recommend sturdy shoes as the floor is very uneven and there are lots of steps. You can go down into the panties/cellars and all the way up a tower. Be careful if with young children. The views are spectacular. I also did not know that Raglan sleeve was created here. The staff who work here are very friendly.

A Fabulous day out which doesn't cost the earth. So much to do and see. Farm animals to feed and watch. A tractor ride for fun, soft play numerous bouncy castles, trampolines zip wires. Inside and outside play zones picnic tables and comfy sofas for parents to watch their kids play. Large indoor sand pit. A farm shop, a small toy shop. Ice-cream, drinks, hot food everything is more than reasonably priced. It's a must for a family day out.
A great place for children to burn off a lot of energy. We went on a very hot day and being able to be inside was great- the barns were cooler. The range of soft play was great especially as we had children ranging from 3-11 years old in our party. Not a huge amount of animals to see- would be even better if there was a small animal area to pet rabbits etc. The outside play areas were great and even though it was busy there was lots of space etc. My daughter got bitten quite badly on the hand by one of the ponies but a member of staff carried out first aid and completed an accident form. The animals are very used to being fed so if you don't have food they think you are the carrot!!
Pleasantly surprised, plenty to do both indoors and out. Lots of animals to keep the kids entertained from donkeys, goats , llama and sheep plus more. Bouncy castle and adventure playgrounds , food and drink. Tractor collection!!!! Lots of seating in and out - take your own picnic! Tractor rides , zip wire, and trampolines- broken into ages groups. Would recommend.
Brilliant place to visit with children! Tons of things for children to do, inside and outdoor play areas. Beautiful animals to stroke and feed, especially the donkeys. We didn't eat here but the menu was available, prices were brilliant.
Lovely for a day out. So so many different play areas for children, both indoor and out. An excellent tractor and old farm machinery exhibition and lovely friendly £1 tractor rides.
We choose to come here instead of other closer farms by us (we live in Cwmbran) as it has a bigger choice of soft plays, has multiple bouncy castles, farm animals and a food truck which does enough food for us. I really like how open the fields are so visitors can explore without bumping into others constantly (an issue I’ve had with other farms) and there’s plenty of places to sit down with ample benches. Sure, if you do go during the weekend it will be quite busy so you will have to grab a bench when you can but usually I haven’t found an issue with being able to sit down when I need to. I’ve gone in the week with my nearly 2 year old and it’s great as it’s not busy so she can explore freely without me being worried about getting hurt or losing her, it’s very quiet early mornings during the week so I would recommend this for parents with young kids with SEN needs as it’s usually peaceful and not hectic like on the weekend/during school holidays. It’s busy as it’s popular because there aren’t many farms around that have such a good variety with play areas including a duplo Lego area. Theres a nice farm shop that does a great fillet steak (yes it’s a bit pricey but worth it). I find the prices for food and drink in the farm reasonable and not over priced like other places. Cons of the place: Needs some money being put into it as some of the equipment is quite old or broken (there was a few ball shooters broken when I last visited). There is a soft play area that has a slide blocked off which I’m unsure why as there’s no sign up but if certain equipment can’t be used, perhaps replace it or remove it? This con is dependent on the age of your children and their ability but on EVERY soft play area, trampoline and bouncy castle, they have signs up saying that adults can not go into/on the equipment. Most parents likely wouldn’t find this an issue if they have kids able to climb up everything without assistance or if they’re independent and don’t need to be near you at all times but kids under 2/3 might struggle in some areas without assistance from an adult or at least an older sibling but not all kids have this. If they have additional needs, they may also need assistance on certain equipment. Saying this, I did end up going on soft plays, trampolines and bouncy castles with my pre toddler as she was stuck or needed guidance plus I just wanted to play WITH her rather than just watch her as it was dead in there at the time and there was no risk of me accidentally hurting others doing so… so again, you could do this when it’s quiet during the week as the staff usually don’t check up on you and I doubt they would say anything not unless you are doing it in a dangerous way or breaking equipment. Another con is that there isn’t actually many animals, for a farm you would think you would see Pigs/lambs/cows/rabbits maybe but the main animals I’ve seen while there were two donkeys inside, a pony inside, budgies, Llama’s and a fake cow you can pretend to milk. There’s more animals outside at the back but again, there’s not much of a variety. Yes you can feed some of the animals, think it was a pound for a bag of carrots. There’s no petting sessions or pony ride options (which would be great). There’s a tractor ride that is seasonal, I don’t think it runs all year. In terms of hands on activities with animals, this place prioritises soft play, trampolines, play areas over animal interaction so it would be fair to say that if you want to visit a farm just for the animals then I would recommend another farm but if you’re coming with kids 12 and under then it’s a good farm. Possible improvements that could be made: Pony riding sessions to book/animal petting sessions would be great. A craft/drawing area by the toddler soft plays would be a good addition for kids. More variety of animals but I do understand this can’t always be possible. A bit more money being invested in this place and it would be even better. I do appreciate they have discounts for the disabled, have ample parking and the staff are friendly.
Amazing for the kids. Good butchers, lovely fresh meat, good prices in the cafe. All around great day out only problem you'll struggle to get your kids to leave!
My boy who has additional needs had the most amazing day out here. I can’t recommend it enough and it will be our new go-to! So many things here to keep your little ones entertained all day! Amazing place

I couldn’t rate this place any higher. They were more than accommodating and the lady who cooked and served us really did an amazing job at both. Thank you for making this a worth while visit. Excellent food and service for sure.
Wouldn't recommend for Sunday lunch. The food, especially veg, tasted like it was frozen and microwaved, not fresh. Toby Carvery would have been far better value for money and is just up the road. The staff were friendly, and the place itself was fine, but if you're looking for good food there are enough pubs that serve fresh, hand-cooked food in the Newport and Usk area.
Stopped at the ship by chance, and glad we did. This pub is run by lovely people who serve really good food. I thought I had tasted the best chips in Wales in Llandovery, but I'm not so sure now. The food here is seriously good. Would recommend.
Delicious chips, great atmosphere, service and decor Might’ve had something to do with my hangover but the chips seem like literal ambrosia
We stopped by this pub on the way back from Pembrokeshire and we all cleaned our plates - probably the best sandwiches we've had 👍 - fresh and tasty, proper melt cheese and cooked beef. And lovely country chips. Friendly and considerate staff. Dogs friendly place.
Went for late lunch, which was much needed my burger and onion rings were soooo good and Fiz really enjoyed her burger dog biscuits. Nice to meet you all
Lovely stop in the sunshine for brunch and a coffee. The food was great quality, fast and very reasonably priced and the coffee was fast and good quality. Their very easygoing and incredibly friendly service was excellent from the second we got there to when we had finished. Strongly recommend. Will definitely revisit.👍
First time visit for us .... lovely place! Food was lovely and staff very friendly and polite
