Really nice church in a small picturesque village Conques with special windows made by French artist Pierre Soulages. You can also walk up to the village from view point through the forest.
Such a lovely church. Had the privilege of performing choir concerts as my group walked the Camino together
We absolutely loved it here. Arrived early in the morning as it was 30 degrees and did a 5km hike for the best view 500 metres up. We then descended into the village, which was full of pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, which gave a wonderful feel to the village. The village is just so pretty, uncomercialised, and free of crowds
Truly stunning. Far more accessible and pleasant than Rocamadour, which is heaving with tourists. The atmosphere here is calm, serene, spiritual. Well worth buying the guide to the tympanum over the main door of the church, which is a testimony to the faith and devotion to god of the generations of people who lived and worked here. In short, not to be missed. And there are plenty of facilities and eating places for visitors.
While I'm not fond of the new gray-toned stained glass, everything else about this building and surrounding town is delightful. Tours available from priests with vibrant personalities, clearly keen on sharing and preserving the history. Can sense the significance of this place of pilgrimage, and how impressive a town to arrive to especially for those who hike the journey.
Well worth visiting, it is impressive. Illumination of the relief and a concert at night.
Gorgeous architecture and stained glass work by famous artist Pierre Soulages. Also Interesting is the art work above main door
The abbey and the fully preserved medieval village are definitely worth the trip. Stopover on the northern camino to Santiago de Compostela

The treasury attached to the church of Ste Foy has a number of early wonderful reliquaries. However, the one devoted to the titular saint, Sainte Foy, is a dazzling reliquary. It incorporates a Roman figure of a child and is covered in gold foil, gemstones, agates, antique cameos--plus the remains of the saint. A real tour de force. It actually resided in the town of Agen but the saint's remains were stolen (the delicate church term is "translated") to Conques by Conques' monks to boost the town's commercial status as a pilgrimage site. It remains an important site on the Camino de Santiago, the great continuing pilgrimage trek that runs through Europe to the town of Santiago de Compostela in NW Spain. That is one of the three most important medieval pilgrimage routes; you can still see pilgrims come to Conques.
Superb exhibition but a bit pricey ... to access the Treasury, one must pass through the remains of the cloister. It is one of the five great European treasures of medieval goldsmithery. One of the rare remains of a saint is the skull of Saint Foy. A former Christian teenager martyred in 303 in Agen, she is encased in an exceptional statue. Seated on a throne and crowned, the majesty of Saint Foy is the only preserved copy of the pre-Romanesque relic statues. Housed in a room, the relics are cherished. They could have been confiscated in 1793. But, cunningly, locals hid them in their homes and gardens, only to return them later. Thus, the priceless heritage was saved.
Trop cher et surestimé ... 😒 Over priced and over rated...😒
(Translated by Google) The pieces are incredibly beautiful. It is called a Treasure and it certainly is. Highly recommended. The museography is also very elaborate and even allows you to rotate the pieces so that you can appreciate the entire volume of the artistic piece. The star piece is the reliquary of Santa Fe but there are other very interesting reliquary busts. The entrance price is €6.50, but you can access the museum and the treasure with the same ticket. (Translated by Google) Exceptional pieces, 1000 years of history before our eyes. Little historical information, surely linked to the limited information available. The lighting is limited surely to preserve the pieces, photos prohibited to avoid spoilers! A mass book with the beginnings of music theory, incredible in my eyes. The entrance allows access to the Fau museum, making the price attractive. (Original) Des pièces exceptionnelles, 1000 ans d'histoire devant nos yeux.
(Translated by Google) A very beautiful exhibition of thousand-year-old relics that testify to the evolution and finesse of gold and silver sculpture. A vital visit to understand what transcended the minds of the time. A discount for the Soulages Museum in Rodez is given at the entrance. The visit is certainly short but sufficient. Shame on those who criticize this museum and the entrance fee. They have no business being there. For some, we get the impression that everything should be free...

Can't say enough good things about Victoria and the donkeys she raises. You can tell how loved and cared for they are. We walked along the GR65 for five days with Guardy, a total sweetheart. He was so well trained and gentle. Everywhere we went, local people praised Les Ânes de Monédiès and how well behaved their donkeys are. I highly recommend this farm. We had no prior experience with donkeys but Victoria and Guardy made it easy.

(Translated by Google) We arrived as curious and like a hair in the soup this Sunday, September 16. The owner still received us with sympathy and a lot of kindness. Despite the closing day, she chatted a lot and enlightened us about her activity. We were lucky enough to see a young donkey and his mother. This area is superb. What a joy to discover it. We will come back... (Original) Nous sommes arrivés en curieux et comme un cheveu dans la soupe ce dimanche 16 septembre.
