Bautiful waterfalls, which are worth seeing especially in winter, when everything around is frozen. The sidewalk is not maintained in winter, so you need to be careful. Parking was for free, and there is also a public toilet in the parking lot.
At Jägala Waterfall, Estonia’s highest, you’re greeted with a breathtaking horizon where the sea meets the sky — a perfect spot to watch the sunset. Descending the steps, the waterfall reveals its full beauty. And if you don’t mind venturing further down the densely vegetated slope via the wooden staircase, you’ll reach the seashore. There, you can dip your feet in the cool water, search for fossils, or collect smooth, wave-polished stones.
The waterfall is a really unusual nature sight in Estonia. It is pretty easy to get there. Anyway, there is way for most of people to get to the roots of the waterfall. You need really goods legs and strong head to go down and then up the stairs. But it is a fun for an extreme adventure.
What a magic place! As awesome as it gets! I visited the waterfall in winter and it was gorgeous, I will definitely visit it in summertime.
Very nice place and beautiful waterfalls but be careful during winter. It can be dangerous (frozen and potentially slippery stairs)
An absolute must see in Estonia and on the East coast! Do definitely go down from stairs and enjoy the gorgeous seaside.
Great views, convenient stairs to the sea.
It was perfect, so beautiful and not too many people. But you HAVE to go to the end of the path, it was magical

I had a very Informative and pleasant experience, learning a lot about shale oil and how it was discovered all the way through Estonia history to present day mining of this mineral/resource. Was a very innovative experience. The display has been translated into 12 different languages. The tour would take about 1 to 1.5 hrs if you read and follow everything. Thanks, Rick. May 22,2023
The Kohtla-Järve Oil Shale Museum offers a unique look at Estonia’s oil shale industry through well-curated exhibits blending history, science, and art. A must-visit for those interested in industrial heritage. The museum guides were very helpful and spoke English. Also, there's information available in English.
Wow. This museum is full of Information. If you’re interested in Estonian oil shale this place is the best to learn about it.
Very informative and pleasant experience. You will learn a lot about history, technology, economic drivers, and the economic impact of shale oil. I went there with my 10-year-old son. We were welcome by 3 very friendly persons there, who went the extra-mile to enrich our experience. Information is available in various languages, including English, German, French...
Museum is not so popular, but it is worth visiting
(Translated by Google) A very cool little museum. Affordable and competent guide in Estonian/Russian. (Original) Väga kihvt väike muuseum. Soodne ja pädev giid eesti/vene keeles.
(Translated by Google) The museum is small. Located near the bus station. There are not many exhibits, but the history of the region's shale industry is described in chronological order. All inscriptions are in Estonian and Russian. The cost of visiting is 2 euros per adult. (Original) Музей небольшой. Находится недалеко от автовокзала. Экспонатов не очень много, но в хронологическом порядке описана история сланцевой отрасли региона. Все надписи на эстонском и русском языках. Стоимость посещения 2 евро для взрослого.
