But recently, the quality has dropped drastically, especially the Cotton line. The most frustrating issue is the overwhelming amount of embedded specs—black, blue, and light brown flecks—scattered throughout nearly every sheet. These aren't occasional blemishes; I'm talking about multiple specs per sheet, on both the front and back. It's not just cosmetic—it directly impacts my ability to produce professional-grade paper goods. Trying to remove these specs often leaves holes in the paper, rendering the sheet unusable. The workflow disruption is massive, and it's becoming impossible to keep up with production. Out of a big 100-sheet pack, sometimes 80% ends up unusable. That's unacceptable for paper marketed as "the world's finest paper" with "impeccable quality." It's disheartening to read claims from Gmund and their retailers about artisan hand-inspection under like-daylight conditions when my recent experiences completely contradict that. It's difficult to justify the premium price when quality control feels virtually nonexistent. I hope Gmund takes the feedback seriously. Many of us rely on consistency and quality—especially at this price point. Until improvements are made, I unfortunately cannot recommend this paper to other professionals in the luxury paper goods industry.
