Beautiful cave, did not expect to get a good sense of height in this cave, however the end has a hall which you can traverse by stairs.
Worth the visit, it’s really impressive and just about right in size so you won’t get bored of the length. You just have to count with VERY long queue before going in. I’m also not sure if this is suitable for very small kids, as there’s about 400 steps to be climbed.
The experience mainly consisted of climbing several flights of stairs and then having to take the same route back. It felt a little fake with all the pipelines adding extra water to water falls inside the cave. There were some pretty sights inside though and plenty of information signs with fun facts. It's a shame all information was in German.
Cave was ok but I think the management needs to put more precautions in place for covid-19 prevention. 80% of the other guests took their masks off as soon as they entered and it's impossible to keep distance. It was very busy on a Tuesday afternoon. I can't recommend this to anyone at this time. The stars I gave are for the earth making cool nature things.
Before going in: It was unclear what to do exactly when red light flashes. Even didn't know there was such a warning system. Apparently in this case, you have to go out of the cave as soon as possible, but inside the cave it is not very clear whether you need to go back down or go up and look for an exit. The lady in the desk, however, gave a thoroughly explanation, afterwards. The red light flashing system is a warning system inside the cave regarding the rapid water rise from below and/or the water flooding from above (Hochwasser). Because it is an active, waterflowing cave and also beneath the tunnels are 3 big lakes which levels may rise.
Gorgeous caverns where you can walk without a tour guide. Certainly worth while and for a reasonable price.
Splendid cave for a short stroll - especially during rainy days. Staff is helpful and very friendly.
We visited this place when we were on our way from Kaprun to Munich. It is a nice cave to visit but there was no signs in English.

Beautiful church in a beautiful country! The spirit of ecumenicalism is very much alive and well as our pilgrimage group was permitted to have a service of Holy Communion conducted by a CofE vicar - a female vicar, no less. There are many beautiful works of art in this church. The surrounding area is quiet and serene.
Gorgeous church with a small community on the top of the mountain
A lovely secluded area, where you can feel the energy. Also very interesting, are the small art pieces which were dedicated as a „Thank you“ for survival.
In addition to Maria Plain, Maria Kirchental is one of the most popular places of pilgrimage in Salzburgerland. Hardly any other place in the world can boast such an impressive unity of nature and culture , history and the present . Salzburgers, Tyroleans, Upper Austrians and Bavarians have been making a pilgrimage to this 900-meter-high Gnadenort at the foot of the Loferer Steinberge for over 300 years . "Mountain crystal among the places of pilgrimage", Bishop Eder called him after the completion of the renovation in September 2001. The miraculous image was created around the year 1400 by an unknown artist of late Gothic for the parish church of St. Martin. The baby Jesus on the arm of the Blessed Mother carries a small bird, a goldfinch , in his left hand. The thistle fin, as the goldfinch is also called, feeds primarily on the seeds of thistles. Albrecht Dürer, the well-known painter of the Middle Ages, also painted a Stieglitzmadonna. With the index finger of his right hand, the baby Jesus points to the bird, as if to say: "Look at the birds of the sky; they do not sow, they do not harvest and do not collect in barns. And yet it feeds your heavenly Father. How much more are you worth than all the birds together? " (Lk 12:24 ff) The miraculous image was brought up in the year 1689 by a farmer named Rupert Schmuck in the remote high valley. He gave him a place in a forest chapel, to which a pilgrimage began very soon and spontaneously. Impressed by the many answers to prayer, which were already witnessed by a large number of votive tablets at that time, the Prince Archbishop of the time, Johannes Graf von Thun, decided to build a pilgrimage church. The planning of the church he transferred to the imperial court architect Fischer von Erlach. Under the direction of master builder Stefan Millinger, born in St. Martin, local craftsmen and assistants completed the "Pinzgauer Dom" in just seven years, from 1694 to 1701.
Well worth the journey up the track to visit this extremely well kept church.
The church is located in a very nice place. The building itself is interesting.
Place of Marian Pilgrimage
Very nice and quiet place in the hearth of the mountains, in St. Martin, Austria.
