An interesting museum, laid out in the modern fashion, covering the history of the area. Small, but well displayed, with some interesting Mycenean era exhibits. Had some Greek middle man with a limp shuffle over, saying something loud and dramatically in Greek. But you sometimes get odd staff at these places.
Great views, enormous fortess, good price, but opening hours not updated.
The Archaeological Museum of Pylos is located inside the impressive Niokastro (New Fortress), which already makes the visit feel special. The museum itself is small but beautifully arranged and easy to explore. It focuses on the ancient history of the region, especially finds from nearby sites like the Palace of Nestor and Iklaina. One of the highlights is the Mycenaean pottery and very early Linear B tablet, which is fascinating to see up close. The exhibits are modern and well-lit, with good descriptions in both Greek and English. The staff are friendly and happy to answer questions. It doesn't take long to visit maybe 30 minutes - but it's full of interesting artifacts and stories. Plus, you get to walk around the fortress afterward and enjoy great views of Navarino Bay. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Pylos.
Well worth a visit. Adults pay €10,- entrance fee. Children have free entrance. Small museum with excellent finds. Located at impressive archeological site worh beautiful views. There are some strict guards in the museum itself, who say 'don't touch' as soon as you even point at something. Not very necessary since most items are behind glass anyway. They made my kids a little jumpy 😅. There is a little shipwreck museum a little further away on the property, that is also worth a visit. There's a beautiful church on the site as well, which could have done with some info on site.
We loved this small museum. It completes the story of Pylos and of Nestor's palace. Also,it is very modern and well done. Maybe not much objects, but each is a piece of art, chosen carefully. Great place.
A pleasant surprise. We didn't plan to go, but luckily we went an hour and a half before closing and enjoyed the exhibits and information, as well as the exhibition on the shipwrecks of the area.
This museum is really of high quality. The showcases are well readable, informative and modern/creatively decorated. It is one of three museums on the archeological side and although the other one's are also really good, this one is a high light. You only need about 30 minutes to one hour for the museum but combined with the other one's and the archeological side, it is well worth it.
Well worth thw time to wander around, particularly for the archeological information.

The tennis facility is gorgeous. The views are spectacular. The courts are immaculate. The sunset here while playing tennis is mouth dropping. The instructors are knowledgeable, communicate in multiple languages, highly professional yet friendly enough to want to spend time with them often. Clay courts, hard courts & a GRASS court too! ❤️ Kostadino, Alex, Yianni's & Christina were all TOP instructors. If you are just starting out in tennis or a seasoned professional, this group will help you improve your game or challenge you to an intense match, they are all awesome. The pro shop is small but adequate. The entire staff has one thing in mind.. How do we make sure the client has the best tennis experience in Greece 🇬🇷. Book your appointments while staying at either Resort or close by. You won't regret it. A special thanks to the staff for making my visit w my wife unforgettable. Much appreciated & we'll see you all again next year.
