It's a great walk along side a gully that has water gushing down, there are prepared walkways and plenty of memories to capture. A beautiful Austrian restaurant awaits you at the top, allow a comfortable 1.5 hours to ascent from the carpark. 6 Euros parking and 6 Euros for the walk/climb.
The most beautiful gorge I went to on holiday in this area of Austria. Definitely worth its price of €6! You have to get through the "ugly" phase in the beginning with trees blocking the view, but after that it gets more beautiful with each step. The walk back is mostly downhill but a bit boring (45-60 minutes). In the village there are some shortcuts to get back to the parking lot quicker.
Takes 45-60 minutes to reach the top, medium difficulty, uphill is one-way alongside a gorgeous creek, many waterfalls, white crystal clear water, well kept and managed, there are comfortable toilets right after the entrance gate. Access fee is 6 euro per adult, seems too much but worth it. Twe went up to Benediktinerkloster St. Georgenberg and had a good meal then came down on an akternate road which took 90 minutes, it is a dirt road but quite steep at place and demanding on the legs.
Very short part of trail goes through gorge and you have to pay for it. It’s one way only So going back you go by another route At the end of the trail their is a restaurant and church
Wow, this is an incredible trail! The hike cuts through a gorge carved out by a river with wooden walkways built along the walls. The trail then goes up to a beautiful old monastery that has a cafe. The apple strudel with ice cream and raspberry soda was a delightful treat with an amazing view. Just take the S4 train about 30 min to Stans b. Schwaz Bahnhst. It's then about a 2-3 hour roundtrip hike. The gorge trail does have a fee of 6€ and only about half the hike is through the gorge. But the whole hike is scenic and I thought was totally worth it. To be honest, the pictures of the gorge really can't do it justice and must simply be experienced. It is a moderate to difficult hike. I saw some families with babies and toddlers struggling a bit. Not sure it's that kind of hike. Also it can be a little confusing to follow the trail once you get out of the gorge. There are basically two options: either the lower route back to Stans village or the upper route to the monastery and then to Stans through another trail. The girl at the ticket booth recommended the upper route. There are some signs to follow but the monastery route is right and up a gravel service road. There are also some church stations of the cross along the road up to the two old chapels. There's also a cool old covered wooden bridge spanning a canyon to get get to the monastery. Getting back to Stans is also a little confusing but just follow the signs for Maria Tax and Stans. At first it follows the gravel road but then the Maria Tax trail cuts down off the road becoming a hiking trail through the forest again. At one point it crosses another gravel road down past another chapel. Overall a fun and beautiful half-day hiking trip from Innsbruck!
This place is very beautiful. It is a bit pricey but it is understandable since the stairs and bridges need to be taken care of. It is worth noting that it is a hike (our 3 year old made it, but barely), and it’s a round way, you cannot turn back once you’ve started. But otherwise I recommend it highly! You will not be disappointed by the gorgeous (and scary!!!) waterfalls and by the river 🤩
Beautiful and different kind of hike as you’re mainly walking by the river and taking a lot of stairs. Be aware that you have to pay, not expensive though.
Fun hike through the gorge, took about 2 hours in total including the return down a separate track through the forest. Can be a bit slippery on the wooden walkways when wet. It is well worth taking the extra time to climb up to the monastery, where you will be rewarded with a lovely restaurant serving simple and delicious food.

Quite a beautiful place, quiet and peaceful. Blessed.
Beautiful monastery. They have daily services.
(Translated by Google) From the end of the Wolfsklamm Gorge, it's about a half-hour walk along a wide gravel path to the monastery complex. A remarkable old wooden bridge leads to the Benedictine monastery. A very beautiful little chapel awaits you there. You can sit comfortably in the beer garden for a cool drink or a meal.

This place was a complete surprise and make sure not to miss it! There is a bit of a challenge getting there since you can see it up high after finishing the gorge climb look at my picture) , but it's more of a mental challenge and less a phisical one. The restaurant has a lovely view, great friendly service and absolutely good food. It's the same variety as all Austrian food but it tastes good! I had one of the best apple strudels in Austria, and even the coffe was excellent. The portions where huge and the prices average.
The hike was beautiful and a good meal and beer was just the right motivation to keep going. There are 3 menu items for viener schnitzel huge, for seniors and kids. The main dish is enough for two people, followed by apple strudel. The only problem was the constant bees: the terrace was unusable because they were all over so we sat inside, however bees came in, aroun 4-5 per person in very close proximity and started also eating the food some even getting into ou beer and sauce. I am all for protecting animals and bees but humans also need protection. We could not enjoy our meal. The waiters were top level!!
Steep hike to get to, make sure to go through the beautiful Wolfsklamm. If you are on a pilgrimage there are two absolutely beautiful stamps to collect here, one in the shop and one in the restaurant. If you want to eat make sure you arrive in time, as the kitchen seems to get "colder" leaning towards afternoon
Amazing food and great service. Alexandra made our day;)! She is special, amazing, lovely funny person ;) If you are not hungry just pop in to see her and feel her energy ;) also schintzel portion is huge ;)!
It took us approximately one hour to walk from the top of Wolfsklamm to the restaurant. The food portions are quite large and the prices are quite affordable.
Great food and very kind people!
The wonderfull road through the waterfalls (Wolfsklamm) leads to the abbey which is one of the oldest place of pilgrimage. The abbey is placed on the mountain and looks amazing in my opinion🙂
Lovely restaurant with tables overlooking the valley, staff were friendly and welcoming, simple food available but delicious, especially the Apple strudel!
