Great place to visit. I really liked this fortress. And also beautiful view from top. Lots of history can be felt when u inside . There quite few exponents that you can have look from very close . Way uphill is bit challenging but is worth it !!
It's very hilly to get there. It's about 10-15 mins walk uphill only. Would have been 5 stars if at least headphones to explain the history of the place. Lots of using Google translate to read the history on the wall. Very well maintained.
Neamț Citadel was amazing. Gets 4 stars since the dummies and exonates are just duplicates and some not very well represented. But yeah, nice walk and views and history.
1.3.2025 impressive view and location, explanations in english by QR,very clean surrounding at the very steep access road.Public parking at restaurants in valley 4 RON/hr.Very friendly staff.24 RON admission
Citadel is at the top of the hill and has a great view opening over the valley.
Went first thing in the morning and within minutes there were literally hundreds of school kids enjoying their history. Castle itself is gorgeous but the inside leaves a lot to be desired. Almost none of the extensive boards of information are in anything other than Romanian and the exhibits are all reproductions and a tad hokey at best. Still worth a visit though. A word of caution if you wish to drive up there. The road is very narrow and cars cannot pass each other, which could lead to a very tricky situation with someone having to back up a long way so I would advise walking the few hundred yards.
Long uphill walk and everything inside is written in Romanian, which pushes foreigners away from the main point of teaching them of Romania's history. Great views nonetheless and it's well kept.

The birthplace of a great storyteller. However, there is a cultural thing, as it's hard to translate the beauty of the language to encompass all the riches of the language. In just a single room lived a family of two with 8 kids, hence a moment of reflection on the modern day wellness. I have visited the place 34 years ago. Much has changed and yet still the same. It was nice to reconnect with stories from the childhood.
Romanian author Ion Creangă's home in Humulești is a sight to behold, as it will transport you back to when you were a child and first read his work. His birth home looks exactly as it did in 1835, complete with the old porch and some of the other personal items that belonged to the family. Despite no statues of Ion Creangă anywhere in the city, no clear directions on how to get there, and the fact that there is a tax for photographs when you enter, the house remains a powerful visual of life in the 1800s and the birthplace of one of Romania's greatest writers. Also, it is a 10-minute drive from Neamț Citadel, which is also something you should consider visiting.
The house and yard are nice but very small. You will be able to finish the whole tour in about 10 minutes. The walls are overwelmed by traditional wear, utensils, dummies, decor, rugs. Very colorful but also pretty hard to make sense of every item due to the fact they are all put together. The yard is beautiful because it contains scences of the most appreciated and known fairy tales that the writer created
Astonishing and pleasant to see how our great writer Ion Creanga was living in a middle 19 th century.
It's a small house, but packed with personality and charm. It's after all, the home of Ion Creangă, one of the best storytellers that also encapsulated the spirituality of the village life. It instantly takes you back to childhood and the many well known stories from "Amintiri din copilărie". The man/guide doing a small presentation is amazing at captivating your attention.
House were famous writer, Ion Creanga was born and spent his childhood. Most of the famous stories he wrote happened here. This is a traditional Romanian house from XIX century. Our guide was very nice and charismatic, he told us a lot of interesting stories. A place full of history and traditions.
Expect to spend an hour here. There is no guide, but there is plenty to read. Make sure to spend the extra 2RON next door to see characters of Creanga's work
Nice place - old house of "Ion Creanga" - author of children's stories - it's worth to visit it and close to it is the thematic park where all the stories are visualized by all kind of "dolls" - also here can be seen different objects from Moldova old houses

Very beautiful museum. Although small, it's rich in details and well arranged. There are also a few great books available and fans of the traditional "ie" will find this place rea interesting.
Small but beautiful museum with lots to see. Even better than the museum was the lady working there. 💓 We wish more people would be like her.
A small museum, presenting important parts of local cultural heritage.
It is small but very nice.
Is worth it to visit this place
(Translated by Google) Following the archaeological excavations carried out between 1939 and 1963, the first exhibition nucleus was organized. In 1957, the official opening of the museum took place, in a building near the city park. In 1968 the museum was reorganized in the building of the former District People's Council, in 1977 it was reorganized and transferred to the current building, and in 1986 a new reorganization took place, becoming the Târgu Neamţ Museum of History and Ethnography. The building, an architectural monument, built in 1852, was the Royal School, where Ion Creangă studied. The museum presents a synthesis of the rich medieval history of the city, as well as of the traditional crafts practiced in the area.
