Understated but classy arch with a nice clock near the Cathedral and a pretty park. Worth a visit but not a special trip to see it. Combine with the foreamentioned places and check out the railway carriages on the other side of the boulevard to learn about the departed peoples, a very sad story in itself.

The Triumphal Arch in Chișinău is a cool landmark right in the city center. It’s got a classic look and stands out with its white stone and the clock on top. Nice spot to snap a few photos, and it’s close to other sights too. Worth a quick stop if you’re exploring the area.

It is the most visited place in the Chişinău, located in the center of the city. In every season you will see around different decorations related to holy and traditional holidays, markets, exhibitions and concerts sometimes.There is a pretty park around and many pigeons next to cathedral. The Arch is not as big as you expect to be like in the big cities, I consider very important to mention 😺

A great monument and one you can easily get up close to and admire in all its detail. There isn’t any signage to explain the history, which is a shame, but there’s plenty of other sights nearby to make it worth wandering to. They attempt to light it nicely in the evenings but in an understated way which goes well with the rest of the city. It’s one of the key landmarks and a must see for anyone’s first visit to the city or wanting good photo opportunities.

A peaceful green space in the heart of Chisinau, perfect for a leisurely walk or quiet reflection. I did not like the museum. Maybe it is just a preference for what to see, but it was kinda not interesting, too soviet/communism related. The building is big, and halls too, but all feels rather empty. Art museum is much better

Well laid out museum in a beautiful building. Very spacious going though the Moldovan history. Sometimes it lacks information but inspires you to use Google. We spent 1h15. The price for an adult is 50 MLD and 20 for students. There are lockers and toilets.

The Museum accommodated is very beautiful building. There isn't any person speaks English so I don't know but the administration should to improve the service. I came across groups of students from the city, apparently instead of a history lesson the children were taken to the history museum. It was very noisy, especially from those students who were bored. Another thing that struck me was that the 7th century is almost not discussed. Thy focus over to refuting Russian propaganda. Otherwise, if it is quiet, the place is worth it and it is quite cheap - only €2.5. I definitely recommend the place because many people didn't know that Moldova was separated from Romania. Many people don't know that Moldova was a principality and is not Russia.

Excellent museum. Unique and varied attractions e.g. the rooms themselves are beautiful and worth the price of admission. There’s even an old fashioned diorama room that includes thunder and lighting — so cool! We visited many museums during our 3 week trip to 6 countries and this was my favorite. The staff were very helpful in pointing the optimal route through the museum. The exhibits are extremely well done and it helped us that much of the info was presented in English e.g. helpful explanations were available on take away sheets in each room that you can grab and read as you walk the room. The well presented collection of artifacts including ancient items was amazing in quality and quantity. Stunning stuff. Everyone involved should be so proud of this museum. Don’t miss the fun “wheat blowing in the wind” art as you walk one of the rooms, kids might love that (yes, me too). Don’t be put off if some of the hosts or cashier seem solemn initially, they are all real nice and maybe leery of approaching non-native speakers. Do see the well guarded treasures in the basement which could be overlooked as could the exhibit on darker times in Moldova. Easy to get here once in Chisinau and great value. Highly recommended!

Built in 1836, it was the headquarters of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, but was bombed and badly damaged during the World War II. It was rebuilt in 1997 and restored in neo-classical style in Chisinau. The interior is decorated with beautiful frescoes.

Met two lovely Moldovans and we all went to church on Sunday was very special and met some lifetime friends. Go check the church out but be ready people are asking for money inside the church.

Beautiful Cathedral in the centre of Chisinau. Like most Cathedrals/Monasteries, it can be let down by tourists who gormlessly wander in, chattering, take a photo, then leave. It would be nice if there was a quiet area for visitors to pray/reflect in silence.

No English, no narrative to what is presented, no clear ordering to rooms or exhibited items. 5000 year old fertility icons shown next to 400 year old coins, for some reason. I get it, it is an old museum (135 years old!), but it could and should be updated to modern standards. Certainly an e-guide would be helpful, and also offering better opportunities for photos (less glare-y glass!). The dinosaur/prehistoric animals sections are the best, and in general lots of cool things to see. It is still worth a visit for sure.

It is an interesting museum, but Art one is my favorite. However, this one has some very interesting rooms and exhibits. The women working there were nice. Cheap postcards - package of 32 for 1€ or smrh.

Very interesting place to visit with kids or as a couple. Adult ticket costs 10 lei, student ticket is 2 lei while the ticket for taking pictures is 15 lei. The museum is huge. I’ve never imagined that it’s so big, but it is. The animals are beautifully created and look incredibly real. The museum is big with lots of rooms depicting various historical eras and periods. It’s definitely worth visiting.

Very interesting museum. Enjoyed it a lot. If you are in Chisinau, it is definitely worth a visit. It's a shame that their aren't signs in English. My girlfriend had to translate a lot. So if you have a Moldovan of your own, definitely ask them to come with. They might also be able to add interesting stories.

Total disappointment .This museum was my favourite place to visit many years ago in the times of Soviet Union. Now after years of reconstruction the exposition is much poorer. On the ground floor there are some petrified remains of ancient animals, mollusks, stones. A lot of objects are not even from this area(Uzbekistan ,Crimea, Tajikistan) and half of them are replicas. On the first floor there are some exhibits of flora and fauna, national costume, etc. I was expecting to see exhibits about winemaking, different grape varieties, etc. Nothing of the kind.(And this is just one example).

A small but beautiful museum. I especially recommend you to see if you are interested with weird animals. We were one adult and one student and we payed about 15 lei. Employees are nice and kind. I personally really liked the filled animals and the 3D Moldova map. I really wonder that what is the meaning of the skull and bones under the crosses?

It is a very nice museum and the climb up the staircase was rewarded with a wonderful view. Unfortunately only very little to no explanations in English. Translation with Google lens was almost impossible because the signs are transparent and the text couldn't be recognised.

At the entrance, the ticket attendant kindly gave us complimentary admission tickets. Each floor of the museum displays important artifacts and documents related to the city's history. At the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

I have never seen a such amazing orthodox monastery, with its beautiful light blue colour and its golden domes. Inside you can feel a sense of peace.

I came here to buy some fruits. Its big huge central market where i found veg fruits and honey. What i liked most is oranically vibrant central market not created for tourism. Loved the place. Note you need to have cash on you to have pleasenet shopping experience.

One of the largest markets I’ve seen and whatever you might want to buy you’re sure to find it here. The food sections are particularly interesting with local produce and some of the more bizarre, that many might find off putting. A great place to go for an insight into local culture and a must visit for anyone’s first time in the city.

An excellent market, messy, noisy, but friendly and colourful. In late May when I visited, the air was full of the smell of strawberries. Fruit and veg, bread and cookies, clothes, electrical goods, and there's a whole hall devoted to cheese! There are many places to get a freshly squeezed juice. I loved it!

Honestly it’s just a place to visit and see. If you are interested in fake clothes and to buy fresh food also the place, but I was expecting to see more traditional things, like clothes, souvenirs, etc. but not much found.

This is a small but very cozy and easy to navigate museum. The collection is not big, but it is better this way because you can see the whole collection in less than two hours. There is a whole floor, dedicated to paint work by Moldavian and Romanian painters. There is also a lot of oil paint works produced by European painters. The funny thing is that majority of those paintings have no author. Here I’m talking about middle ages paintings. The selection of sculptures is extremely low. I get it that it’s a small country with low population, but this election is still too minimal and few.

Museum with excellent interior design, quite nice works of art and great price. It’s easy to see all of the collection, however it was hard to navigate around the building to see everything in the proper order. Would also love to buy some souvenirs like fridge magnets, postcards, guides and other books but there is no shop in the museum unfortunately. I didn’t know that there would be an Ivan Ajvazovsky painting tho!

Perfect museum with a very bright and spacious atmosphere! Would be really worth to visit. Entrance fee 10 MDLs per adult and if you want to take pictures inside you pay 15 MDLs extra per adult. So, no photos only visit 10, visit with photos 25 MDLs 😊

Nice selection of artwork from 1800s all the way to the modern era (there was an exhibition of Moldovian artists from 2022) Entrance was 10 Lei, and about an hour is enough time to see the collection if you don't linger around each peace too long. Very beautiful architecture of the building itself!

What an unexpected gem, beautiful and diverse art, in a stately building. I was very impressed by the quality and breadth of the art on display, and for only 50 lei, you’d be crazy not to visit. Artist name and work title in English, but no other explanations in English. Enjoy!

Taifas was my first experience with Moldovan food and this review is some ways more about personal preference than the restaurant. I wanted to try the local cuisine and Taifas provides a good opportunity for that with a pleasant location, live music and great service. Our waiter offered helpful suggestions and we ordered our food along with wine and beer. We liked the subtle flavours of the wine and we really liked the beer. Sadly the cuisine is not for us as it is so heavy on meat and sour cream. The travellers meat platter reminded me of authentic Finnish food from the late 80s in good and bad ways. The main dish was our favorite. Taifas is a great restaurant, but the cuisine can be a challenge, so ask for advice from the waiters. We loved the talking parrot inside the restaurant.

If you are in Moldova and looking for authentic food, Taifas is the place. Be sure to book as they get pretty busy, which I’m Not surprised because the service and food are excellent. The addition of live traditional music is an added bonus. I’m not going to suggest any dishes, you’ll just have to visit to find out.

I got terribly sick after their food and spend 2,5h vomiting. I had pork with sour-cream and mushroom sauce and polenta with a cabbage salat. Disgusting experience

The food was very good and tasty. The place feels more like a proper restaurant – with nice decor and professional service. However, as a tourist, I don’t think it’s really worth it since the prices are about twice as high as at La Placinte. Still, if you’re looking for something more elegant but still traditional, this is the right place for you.

Don’t go there. First of all, the staff is rude. I asked in English where is the toilet . He answered in Russian, pointing to somewhere. I didn’t understand and he acted rude. Secondly, my friend asked for a Mamaliga without extras. When it arrived, he explained it was without extra . They said they would charge as if there was no extra. When the bill arrived, the waiter just said “I will not correct the bill - you have to pay with extra”. Never go there if you are a tourist!!!

Delicious Cusma lui Guguta. For single, there is just the pancake version. Size of 4 people get the original Cusma lui Guguta. Still delicious. Tasty coffee. I think the garcon forgot me outside though.

The other evening, I visited this restaurant upon recommendations from my hotel personnel. I would love to be able to review the dining experience at this restaurant however, upon entering the establishment, the host, who was dressed in a traditional outfit, said “no” to me. I was flummoxed as to the dismissive behavior. I tried to explain that I was interested in dining and he continued to say “no” meanwhile, there were a couple of people waiting to be seated. At one point, the host entered the dining area and returned saying “no” for a third time. As someone who has enjoyed dining out regularly for years, I can say that I never received such a response from the person responsible for welcoming guests.

Very good lamb meat and appetizers. Service very friendly if a bit slow. Life music starts at 8 PM. Payment by credit card no problem

I absolutely loved everything about Jeraffe, from the ambiance to the exceptional service and the evident care for guests. We stopped for a quick bite and ordered some sushi rolls. While their execution was spotless, the flavor fell a bit short. The fish had a mealy texture and tasted slightly off, and the rice could have used more seasoning, the abundance of cream cheese in sushi is a bit off putting for me. . Despite this, I'd return anytime to explore more of their menu, especially given their carefully selected wine collection. The appetizer from the chef was a pleasant surprise.

Very strange place. Menu included Asian, Italian and other types of food- sushi, pasta, etc😁 interiors are also strange. But tase of food was pretty good.. anyway you will not have many better options in Chisinau. Service was very nice, present from chef was very good.

Very nice atmosphere inside the restaurant, and the food was excellent. We had the salmon tartar for starter. It was one of the best I have ever had. The filet mignon was also excellent. Very attentive service. I would highly recommend this place.

Great restaurant for dinner , delicious sushi

We had an amazing experience from the beginning till the end. The food is incredible, the best risotto I ever had in my entire life, even better than in Italy:) sushi also very tasty and fresh. Very intelligent waiters, paying the attention to all the details to serve us. Prices are high but you get what you pay for.

The ambience is lovely, the restaurant is small and intimate. The service however friendly is a bit slow and forgot a few items a couple of times and was not attentive in terms of wine refill, water refill etc. For a restaurant that is considered as top caliber in Moldova and for it's price-point you expect more care. Although the presentation was nice of the food, the food itself I felt was overpowered by sauces and mayo. I asked for the sushi to have no mayo but there was mayo anyways. I think this place is good for a tea/coffee and some people watching but otherwise I can't recommend the kitchen.

We went there for dinner and the place was just wow! Amazing atmosphere, very quaint, with a fireplace, traditional decor, music and cozy rooms. The food was tasty and the wine good as well. The servers were attentive and the food was delivered in a timely manner. All in all a very pleasant "old" Christmas Eve!

Cold service. I would not give even a single star. Like we forced the waiter to serve us:)) At least, this is how we felt… Food average. We were six, from which only 2 were satisfied with their food. I feel it is overpriced for what’s offered. Beautiful place and nice atmosphere.

We decided to have dinner and we got as a result this restaurant We went in and we were pleasantly surprised by its look of how well it looks on the outside but wait to see how well designed it is and how authentic it is designed The waiters they all wear traditional folkloric clothing which goes well with it’s design The restaurant it’s extremely well looked after and as I said at the start, it’s so nicely decorated (table wear, candles , old torches, the wood all around it looks as it was done before For drink we got a bottle of Malbec from Purcari which was a very good choice As our stater we shared the traditional Sarmale which they are mouth watering . We absolutely loved it 😊 As our main course I had the Salmon with grilled vegetables and my husband had the Duck in a pot which as well they were delicious For our dessert we shared pancakes with hot chocolate We were very well looked after by the lovely waiter . The service was excellent and very attentive Our first time here and we will be back again 😊

The food was great and looked very good. Pricey for Chisinau, but worth it. BUT service and music is terrible. Service- as foreigners we needed few more minutes to read and understand the menu. But the waiter was asking every minute if we are ready. Music - very, very loud trashy music (not live). We could not hear each other at the table. We have asked if its possible to lower the volume - negative. Thus we were not able to talk to each other and enjoy the evening. Fair to say we were here on Saturday (not sure if this is a local custom 🤷🏼‍♂️)

A great place but not cheap! The $$$$ are not for show. The food is great especially the bread with cheese and the service is great as well in different languages. They have good music which is loud enough to create a good vibe but not loud enough to not be able to have a conversation.

It was a complete disappointment; the service was terrible. First of all, the waiter didn’t even introduce himself and was clearly very drunk — he reeked of alcohol. We had to repeat our order several times because he kept forgetting what to bring. The call button either didn’t work, or he simply ignored it. In the end, one of the dishes we ordered was never served, yet the bill included a large bottle of water that we neither ordered nor received. The music was way too loud. The DJ might be good, but this was definitely not music for a restaurant — it felt more like being at a rave where you have to eat quickly and leave. This is absolutely not the level of comfort you expect in a fine dining setting. The only positive was that the food was genuinely very tasty. Everything else left a very negative impression.

I enjoyed a light lunch here. I ordered a quiche, tea, and orange juice. The entourage was amazing, and the service was great. I especially liked that they were able to store some of my belongings temporarily while I had a couple of errands to run nearby.

Beautiful place and atmosphere. The food tastes good. All of us paid, but the server said there is 800 wasn’t paid. We asked for the items that weren’t paid but he said “i don’t know” and he was doing his calculations manually on the phone even he has an automated system. Ao obviously this is a SCAM. Went there on Sunday with friends. But the music was too loud. We asked to turn it down so many times, but was useless. We weren’t able to hear each other, then we just left the place. We literally were the only table at 10:00 pm.

The best rooftop bar and restaurant I have ever been!

I went during the week and the food and service were great. Were not allowed at the party because `there is a reservation list you had to reserve one week prior`, but as I was leaving another another guy came speaking english saying he has no reservation and was greeted right in. The party organisers are clearly selecting what they think is rich, very kitsch attitude. The music was bad anyway. If you have some class skip the party and just enjoy the restaurant and view by day. There is another party place nearby, much better music, starts at 2am, in a tunnel right across the street from no1 supermarket.

Overall - ok. View is great, cocktails are great, sushi - nice presentation, but so so taste. Very pricey. 20% tips they add automatically to your bill. Also, we saw people were smoking cigarettes inside the lounge. We were not offered to go to the non smoking side of the lounge, even the place was pretty empty.

Haven’t had dinner there, only came for a bottle of wine at sunset and really enjoyed the design, the view and the vibe. On the wine list, go for Equinox or Pelican Negru, these are the closest options for natural wine in the country.

A spectacular view! The beauty of the sunset or the night city makes the atmosphere more romantic. The menu is quite interesting. The dishes are tasty and the service is very good.

Reserved a table there for the view, it was spectacular but then I was also surprised by the food, so good! Definitely worth the price. Best food I had in a long time, some dishes were for sure the best I ever had!

The steak, grilled avocado, and wine were all delicious. The employees were very friendly and happy to give suggestions. The homemade sauce with the steak was very unique and the coarse ground salt was a nice touch so you can season according to your preference. Highly recommend trying!

First time here. The plate I ordered had a lot of herbs by shadowing the meat and other side assortments were like left from previous client. The plate at photo is what they brought which has things not as per the description at Wine Snacks. Waiters had iced cold faces and they were behaving like we owed money to them. No body is paying attention to see you rising your hand for demanding something. There was this constant noise coming from the stereo, amplified by the kitchen rumours and strengthened by clients speaking next to you since tables are very very close. For what we paid, it wasn't worthy.

Amazing dinner experience: from the starter (hummus) to the dessert (cheesecake) and even the drink (lemonade), everything was absolutely delightful.

I ordered a filet mignon, and it came extremely salty — and I usually enjoy salty food, but this was impossible to eat. They suggested a beef fillet instead, but what I received was a piece of boiled, tasteless meat. The Fattoush salad was also disappointing. I came expecting a great culinary experience, but I’m leaving disappointed.

Loved the food so much, that we came back the following day! We had fish and the shrimp salad. The grilled potatoes are also amazing.

A beautiful and welcoming place, like all of Chisinau! Excellent food!

This is my favorite place in the whole town! Always fresh food, everything is well prepared and very well priced! The service is always top tier, and I specifically enjoy the cats coming and hanging out with you while you eat. My only desire is for this place to be bigger, since there are no seats sometimes, however if you book a table prior you are good to go!

Small cosy wine bar/shop near the center of Chisinau with a nice selection of wines from Moldova. You can go and pick your bottle and sit, relax and sip it. If you are hungry you can get a cheese and meat board for picking. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere nice.

It’s quieter than most spots near the city center, offering a broad selection of wines and a pleasant outdoor seating area. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a discreet, tucked-away place to catch up or simply enjoy a drink without interruptions.

A nice wine bar focusing on Moldavian wines. We tasted som very nice red wines. Unfortunately they served the sparkling wine in white wine glasses, so there was no bubbles at all. Such a shame...

Very knowledgeable about Moldavian wines. Now they make their own wines so they do tasting on those and not what they pick up outside of Kishinev. Unfortunate. I tasted their wines and loved bad boys. It was not available in duty free so if you have a bag, buy it asap.

The airport is modern with efficient service. Very clean. During the holiday season it gets quite busy, but I didn’t feel any discomfort because of it. What struck me as very unusual was the sight of numerous luxury Ukrainian cars in the parking lot, which is rather odd for a country at war.

The duty free is rubbish, whilst a large range of alcohol, the prices are about 20 percent dearer than UK high street prices. Makes no sense to me. However apart from that the airport is definitely one of the better ones.

I traveled for the first time from this airport, when i visited it it was very clean but airport size is on small side. There are few options of restuarants. Also i like business class lounge. Bathrooms are super clean. Duty free prices is a bit high.

The airport must be expanded as sometimes there could be queues especially on a busy period of the year. Other than that the Airport is quite small but cute. Didn't have any major issues there.

Because it’s “National Language Day” (a public holiday in Moldova apparently), the police have closed the entry road to the airport!!! So my driver (who’s unusually kind and sweet for the average Moldovan) regretfully dropped me off outside and I had to drag my suitcase up a broken, steep ramp and walk about 500 metres to the airport entrance. The staff at the airport everywhere are so unfriendly and grouchy. No matter what you ask them and how, they make you feel unwelcome. Even at the Duty Free where they need your business, they seem to feel tortured by it! Avoid this country unless you absolutely have to.

The taxfree and wine selection cannot be used if you have a transfer since they don’t have the agreement with sealed bags. There are two exchange places, some cafees with simple food.
