Architectural Buildings
The Triumphal Arch, an iconic landmark in Chisinau, stands proudly at 13 meters tall and was constructed in 1840 to honor the Russian Empire's triumph over the Ottoman Empire during the Russo-Turkish War. This stunning white stone structure is not only a significant historical monument but also a popular photo spot for visitors exploring the city.
Great place to see. Built in 1840, this 13-meter white stone arch with a clock commemorates the Russo-Turkish War.
Monika K — Google review
Understated but classy arch with a nice clock near the Cathedral and a pretty park. Worth a visit but not a special trip to see it. Combine with the foreamentioned places and check out the railway carriages on the other side of the boulevard to learn about the departed peoples, a very sad story in itself.
Phil M — Google review
The Triumphal Arch in Chișinău is a cool landmark right in the city center. It’s got a classic look and stands out with its white stone and the clock on top. Nice spot to snap a few photos, and it’s close to other sights too. Worth a quick stop if you’re exploring the area.
Devrim B — Google review
It is the most visited place in the Chişinău, located in the center of the city. In every season you will see around different decorations related to holy and traditional holidays, markets, exhibitions and concerts sometimes. There is a pretty park around and many pigeons next to cathedral. The Arch is not as big as you expect to be like in the big cities, I consider very important to mention 😺
Natalia P — Google review
One of the most beautiful and valuable monuments in Chisinau. Best place to take photos and content!
Ivan M — Google review
A great monument and one you can easily get up close to and admire in all its detail. There isn’t any signage to explain the history, which is a shame, but there’s plenty of other sights nearby to make it worth wandering to. They attempt to light it nicely in the evenings but in an understated way which goes well with the rest of the city. It’s one of the key landmarks and a must see for anyone’s first visit to the city or wanting good photo opportunities.
Steve B — Google review
The thing had seen the time ) It's a well-worn piece and needs plastering. But overall - fine lookin' piece of architecture 🏛️
Andrei N — Google review
One of the best places in Chisinau, idk

Valea Morilor Park

Mentioned on
21 lists
Park
Valea Morilor Park is a serene and leafy park located in Chisinau, Moldova. It was established in the 1950s as a Soviet-style Central Park of Culture and Rest, featuring a manmade lake that offers an artificial beach for swimming. The park is popular among locals and tourists for its tranquil atmosphere, walking paths, theater, playground, and small amusement park.
Just beautiful. As a tourist I really enjoyed my visits to this park. It has a very social but warm feel to it and it’s an ideal place to walk around, run around (as I did), or just sit and enjoy the calmness of the place. It seems to be a favourite amongst the locals, and rightfully so. The park is very well preserved and is clean. There are coffee shops along the way and places where one can buy food too. It’s a bit of a walk from the main area of Chişinău, but the efficiency and reliability of the public transport in the city makes it worth while for a visit.
Louis — Google review
A peaceful green space in the heart of Chisinau, perfect for a leisurely walk or quiet reflection. Locals come here with their families, kids, and even fishing poles — adding to the relaxed, lived-in vibe. The lake is the centerpiece, with tree-lined paths circling it and plenty of benches to take it all in. The cascading staircase leading down to the lake adds a touch of drama and charm. Not overly touristy — just an authentic slice of local life in motion.
Sa S — Google review
Amazing place to visit, A quiet, green park by the lake, with walking paths, a theater, a playground and a small amusement park. Many tracks around, lovely views
Monika K — Google review
Beautiful park. Well maintained, multiple activities to do: walking, running, bike riding, paddleboarding, etc
Terna V — Google review
The nicest park in the city, you can easily walk around the lake. Not that many places to eat or have proper coffee though
Lucie L — Google review
Nice place to go for a walk in the evening. Very safe and clean. Lots of people playing and doing sports.
Aloysio M — Google review
Very nice place to go for a run or a long walk. We were doing this in the rain but still was enjoyable

Certainly, here's a concise review of Valea Morilor Park in English: Valea Morilor Park in Chișinău, Moldova, is a beautiful green oasis perfect for escaping city life. It features a large artificial lake, lush greenery, and the stunning 218-step Cascades Staircase. It's a great spot for walks, cycling, or simply relaxing. The park also boasts a summer theater that hosts cultural events. Overall, it's an excellent destination for families, nature lovers, and anyone seeking outdoor recreation.

National museum
The National History Museum of Moldova, located in the historical center of Chisinau, is a must-see attraction with over 165,000 items showcasing the country's rich heritage. Despite the need for renovations, the museum offers intriguing exhibits that provide insight into Moldova's history from ancient times to modern-day. Visitors can explore diverse exhibitions covering various periods such as the Middle Ages, World War II, and the Soviet era.
One of the best museums I've seen. Really engulfing, with many beautiful objects and great narrative about Moldova's history. I recommend visiting it to everyone.
Igor R — Google review
I did not like the museum. Maybe it is just a preference for what to see, but it was kinda not interesting, too soviet/communism related. The building is big, and halls too, but all feels rather empty. Art museum is much better
Filip N — Google review
Well laid out museum in a beautiful building. Very spacious going though the Moldovan history. Sometimes it lacks information but inspires you to use Google. We spent 1h15. The price for an adult is 50 MLD and 20 for students. There are lockers and toilets.
CJ — Google review
The Museum accommodated is very beautiful building. There isn't any person speaks English so I don't know but the administration should to improve the service. I came across groups of students from the city, apparently instead of a history lesson the children were taken to the history museum. It was very noisy, especially from those students who were bored. Another thing that struck me was that the 7th century is almost not discussed. Thy focus over to refuting Russian propaganda. Otherwise, if it is quiet, the place is worth it and it is quite cheap - only €2.5. I definitely recommend the place because many people didn't know that Moldova was separated from Romania. Many people don't know that Moldova was a principality and is not Russia.
Asen K — Google review
A good collection of exhibits about the history of Moldova. Educational. You can buy souvenirs at the cash desk. I recommend visiting.
Manarbek A — Google review
Museum which summarizes history of Moldova. Comfortable space and interesting exhibitions.
Timothy C — Google review
Beautiful building that has been carefully restored, ans which in itself is worth visiting. Lots of artefacts and exhibitions about Moldovan history, though a little more English texts would have been nice.
Lars B — Google review
Excellent museum. Unique and varied attractions e.g. the rooms themselves are beautiful and worth the price of admission. There’s even an old fashioned diorama room that includes thunder and lighting — so cool! We visited many museums during our 3 week trip to 6 countries and this was my favorite. The staff were very helpful in pointing the optimal route through the museum. The exhibits are extremely well done and it helped us that much of the info was presented in English e.g. helpful explanations were available on take away sheets in each room that you can grab and read as you walk the room. The well presented collection of artifacts including ancient items was amazing in quality and quantity. Stunning stuff. Everyone involved should be so proud of this museum. Don’t miss the fun “wheat blowing in the wind” art as you walk one of the rooms, kids might love that (yes, me too). Don’t be put off if some of the hosts or cashier seem solemn initially, they are all real nice and maybe leery of approaching non-native speakers. Do see the well guarded treasures in the basement which could be overlooked as could the exhibit on darker times in Moldova. Easy to get here once in Chisinau and great value. Highly recommended!

A terrific place to begin your walking tour of Chisinau. Along with this beautiful church is the park it sets in.

Beautiful place in Chisinau The Nativity of Christ Cathedral in Chișinău is a jewel of classicist architecture dating back to 1836, a spiritual symbol of the city, and the most important Orthodox church in Moldova. Its monumental structure and beautiful interior create an admirable atmosphere, Entrance is free
Monika K — Google review
Very nice ortodox church in the center of Chisinau. No dislikes. Like everything.
Raimonds R — Google review
Built in 1836, it was the headquarters of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, but was bombed and badly damaged during the World War II. It was rebuilt in 1997 and restored in neo-classical style in Chisinau. The interior is decorated with beautiful frescoes.
T. G — Google review
Met two lovely Moldovans and we all went to church on Sunday was very special and met some lifetime friends. Go check the church out but be ready people are asking for money inside the church.
Nathan A — Google review
Beautiful Cathedral in the centre of Chisinau. Like most Cathedrals/Monasteries, it can be let down by tourists who gormlessly wander in, chattering, take a photo, then leave. It would be nice if there was a quiet area for visitors to pray/reflect in silence.
Baron F — Google review
A wonderful place to relax, watch the kids playing and enjoying the life. Take your time to stay and enjoy an ice cream during the spring, summer or autumn. Calming atmosphere with beautiful people relaxing or passing by. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE IN THIS WONDERFUL LITTLE TOWN!

Ethnographic museum
The National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History is a well-known museum in Chisinau that showcases various exhibits on Moldovan culture, natural history, animals, old books and decorations. The museum has over 15 halls with an impressive collection on display. While there is no ethnographic project available on the premises, the museum boasts great architecture and a lovely garden.
Nice museum, is way bigger than it seems. There are many additional rooms underground. On many things you can find an englisch translation, we paid 25 lei per person if I remember correctly (students)
Zitronenbaum — Google review
No English, no narrative to what is presented, no clear ordering to rooms or exhibited items. 5000 year old fertility icons shown next to 400 year old coins, for some reason. I get it, it is an old museum (135 years old!), but it could and should be updated to modern standards. Certainly an e-guide would be helpful, and also offering better opportunities for photos (less glare-y glass!). The dinosaur/prehistoric animals sections are the best, and in general lots of cool things to see. It is still worth a visit for sure.
Alon D — Google review
It is an interesting museum, but Art one is my favorite. However, this one has some very interesting rooms and exhibits. The women working there were nice. Cheap postcards - package of 32 for 1€ or smrh.
Filip N — Google review
Very interesting place to visit with kids or as a couple. Adult ticket costs 10 lei, student ticket is 2 lei while the ticket for taking pictures is 15 lei. The museum is huge. I’ve never imagined that it’s so big, but it is. The animals are beautifully created and look incredibly real. The museum is big with lots of rooms depicting various historical eras and periods. It’s definitely worth visiting.
Nataly N — Google review
More beautiful pieces of Moldova botanical and animals. Also, there is an AMAZING old carcass of the elephant’s ancestor 🤩
Walid — Google review
Very interesting museum. Enjoyed it a lot. If you are in Chisinau, it is definitely worth a visit. It's a shame that their aren't signs in English. My girlfriend had to translate a lot. So if you have a Moldovan of your own, definitely ask them to come with. They might also be able to add interesting stories.
Roel W — Google review
Total disappointment .This museum was my favourite place to visit many years ago in the times of Soviet Union. Now after years of reconstruction the exposition is much poorer. On the ground floor there are some petrified remains of ancient animals, mollusks, stones. A lot of objects are not even from this area(Uzbekistan ,Crimea, Tajikistan) and half of them are replicas. On the first floor there are some exhibits of flora and fauna, national costume, etc. I was expecting to see exhibits about winemaking, different grape varieties, etc. Nothing of the kind.(And this is just one example).
Oleg O — Google review
A small but beautiful museum. I especially recommend you to see if you are interested with weird animals. We were one adult and one student and we payed about 15 lei. Employees are nice and kind. I personally really liked the filled animals and the 3D Moldova map. I really wonder that what is the meaning of the skull and bones under the crosses?

Former Water Tower in Chisinau is a unique museum housed in a historical building that once served as a crucial part of the city's infrastructure. Originally built as a water tower in 1892, it later transformed into a fire tower with a water cistern on the upper level and close proximity to a fire station. The museum offers visitors an opportunity to explore the city's history through various exhibits on each floor while enjoying panoramic views from the top.
Enjoyed my visit to this lovely building that used to be the original water tower and is now an interesting museum.

It is a very nice museum and the climb up the staircase was rewarded with a wonderful view. Unfortunately only very little to no explanations in English. Translation with Google lens was almost impossible because the signs are transparent and the text couldn't be recognised.
David F — Google review
At the entrance, the ticket attendant kindly gave us complimentary admission tickets. Each floor of the museum displays important artifacts and documents related to the city's history. At the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Ciuflea Monastery, constructed in 1858, is a stunning structure with a blue exterior and gold domes. This church and monastery is located at the city center and offers free entrance to visitors. The building houses the tombs of its founding brothers, surrounded by well-maintained gardens and benches along its entrance lane. Visitors are required to adhere to a dress code that includes covering knees, arms, and head for women.
Mănăstirea Ciuflea is a Moldovan Orthodox monastery with a history that dates back to the 19th century, when it was built by two brothers. The brothers are buried at the entrance to the church on the right. The church's beautiful blue colour with the golden top makes it a striking feature in the city of Chisinau. But not only that, the earnest prayers inside were more heartfelt than I have felt in a long time.
T. G — Google review
A beautiful monastery with very unpleasant nuns. I wasn’t allowed to bring my wheelchair into the chapel because of the nuns, and had to crawl on my knees if I wanted to see the altar.
Berit Å — Google review
Nice place to visit. Entrance free Ciuflea Monastery – an Orthodox women's monastery in Chișinău, in the city center, on Ciuflea Street, in the jurisdiction of the Chișinău Eparchy of the Moldavian Orthodox Church.
Monika K — Google review
Beautiful monastery in the outskirts of Chișinău. When I entered , the liturgy was almost over . The monastery itself is big and old . This is a nun monastery. Many don't speak romanian. You can stay here over night but you have to talk to priest Nicolae about it . Overall nice
Jiboo P — Google review
I have never seen a such amazing orthodox monastery, with its beautiful light blue colour and its golden domes. Inside you can feel a sense of peace.
Simone C — Google review
Second just to the cathedral in the central park
Gino P — Google review
Ciuflea Monastery, situated close to the city center, is a historical gem. Despite its relatively grand size when viewed from the outside, the church itself is remarkably compact. The intricately adorned walls and ceilings, along with the impressive collection of furniture, sculptures, and paintings, are truly captivating, all meticulously preserved. Within the monastery, you'll discover a souvenir shop, offering an opportunity to select thoughtful gifts for your loved ones. The well-manicured garden adds to the charm, providing a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Well preserve monastery with active services. Don't take videos of photos inside because somebody's going to get a little angry. :)

As you wander through its bustling alleys, you'll discover local specialties like honey and dried fruits alongside imported tropical delights.
Literally, one of the wonders of the world. Don’t miss it. Get some Salata coreană, fresh veggies, dried plums, pj’s and a hat. It’s one of the best and i am a connoisseur of these Eastern European markets!

Fantastic atmosphere and an excellent selection of products. You can enjoy a shot of vodka, do your shopping, and have a nice chat with genuinely friendly people. A truly unique place worth visiting!
Mike D — Google review
Good place to visit. You can buye here everything. A covered hall with stands selling fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat, baked goods and local delicacies. Try to find local cakes - amazing and cheap
Monika K — Google review
One of the largest markets I’ve seen and whatever you might want to buy you’re sure to find it here. The food sections are particularly interesting with local produce and some of the more bizarre, that many might find off putting. A great place to go for an insight into local culture and a must visit for anyone’s first time in the city.
Steve B — Google review
An excellent market, messy, noisy, but friendly and colourful. In late May when I visited, the air was full of the smell of strawberries. Fruit and veg, bread and cookies, clothes, electrical goods, and there's a whole hall devoted to cheese! There are many places to get a freshly squeezed juice. I loved it!
Stephen P — Google review
Honestly it’s just a place to visit and see. If you are interested in fake clothes and to buy fresh food also the place, but I was expecting to see more traditional things, like clothes, souvenirs, etc. but not much found.

The National Museum of Fine Arts of Moldova, established in 1939, showcases a diverse collection of local and international paintings, sculptures, and other artworks. Originally founded as the first Picture Gallery of Chisinau by sculptor Alexandru Plamadeala, it has evolved into a significant cultural institution. Housed in a historic mid-19th century building designed by renowned architect Alexander Bernardazzi, the museum is not only known for its impressive art collection but also for its architectural significance.
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. I had a wonderful 4-hours here, taking pictures and wondering about without being followed. I am absolutely surprised how extensive and beautiful the collection is. Definitely a great first stop while visiting Chisinau!
Thomas T — Google review
This is a small but very cozy and easy to navigate museum. The collection is not big, but it is better this way because you can see the whole collection in less than two hours. There is a whole floor, dedicated to paint work by Moldavian and Romanian painters. There is also a lot of oil paint works produced by European painters. The funny thing is that majority of those paintings have no author. Here I’m talking about middle ages paintings. The selection of sculptures is extremely low. I get it that it’s a small country with low population, but this election is still too minimal and few.
Nurseit N — Google review
Museum with excellent interior design, quite nice works of art and great price. It’s easy to see all of the collection, however it was hard to navigate around the building to see everything in the proper order. Would also love to buy some souvenirs like fridge magnets, postcards, guides and other books but there is no shop in the museum unfortunately. I didn’t know that there would be an Ivan Ajvazovsky painting tho!
Albert D — Google review
Very nice selection especially of sculptures, though limited info about the pieces and artists. Still highly recommended for a glimpse of local art and culture.
Ioana T — Google review
This is a true treasure, offering visitors a rich journey through the history of art, from ancient to modern times. With its impressive collection of both local and international masterpieces, the museum beautifully showcases Moldova's cultural heritage while offering a deep connection to European art traditions. The atmosphere is both calm and inspiring, allowing art lovers to immerse themselves in a world of creativity and history, leaving them with a renewed appreciation for the power of artistic expression.
Osman A — Google review
Perfect museum with a very bright and spacious atmosphere! Would be really worth to visit. Entrance fee 10 MDLs per adult and if you want to take pictures inside you pay 15 MDLs extra per adult. So, no photos only visit 10, visit with photos 25 MDLs 😊
Burak B — Google review
Nice selection of artwork from 1800s all the way to the modern era (there was an exhibition of Moldovian artists from 2022) Entrance was 10 Lei, and about an hour is enough time to see the collection if you don't linger around each peace too long. Very beautiful architecture of the building itself!
Iggy G — Google review
What an unexpected gem, beautiful and diverse art, in a stately building. I was very impressed by the quality and breadth of the art on display, and for only 50 lei, you’d be crazy not to visit. Artist name and work title in English, but no other explanations in English. Enjoy!

Restaurant
La Taifas in Chisinau is a renowned restaurant that offers an authentic experience of Moldovan hospitality and cuisine. The restaurant is designed to resemble a traditional Moldovan peasant's house, complete with ethnographic elements that create a museum-like ambiance. Visitors can savor famous national dishes such as borsch specialties, polenta, meatballs, pork and lamb steaks, pies, and local wines.
The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with warm, traditional decorations that make you feel at home. I started with a vegetable noodle soup — light, comforting, and full of flavor. The main dish, beef stew with onions, was hearty and delicious, perfectly matched with baked potatoes. The red wine from Fautor Winery paired beautifully with the meal. The staff were kind and attentive, and the overall experience was relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to taste traditional Moldovan food in a calm and welcoming setting.
Yusuke — Google review
Taifas was my first experience with Moldovan food and this review is some ways more about personal preference than the restaurant. I wanted to try the local cuisine and Taifas provides a good opportunity for that with a pleasant location, live music and great service. Our waiter offered helpful suggestions and we ordered our food along with wine and beer. We liked the subtle flavours of the wine and we really liked the beer. Sadly the cuisine is not for us as it is so heavy on meat and sour cream. The travellers meat platter reminded me of authentic Finnish food from the late 80s in good and bad ways. The main dish was our favorite. Taifas is a great restaurant, but the cuisine can be a challenge, so ask for advice from the waiters. We loved the talking parrot inside the restaurant.
Pekka L — Google review
If you are in Moldova and looking for authentic food, Taifas is the place. Be sure to book as they get pretty busy, which I’m Not surprised because the service and food are excellent. The addition of live traditional music is an added bonus. I’m not going to suggest any dishes, you’ll just have to visit to find out.
Charlie P — Google review
I got terribly sick after their food and spend 2,5h vomiting. I had pork with sour-cream and mushroom sauce and polenta with a cabbage salat. Disgusting experience
Olga R — Google review
The food was very good and tasty. The place feels more like a proper restaurant – with nice decor and professional service. However, as a tourist, I don’t think it’s really worth it since the prices are about twice as high as at La Placinte. Still, if you’re looking for something more elegant but still traditional, this is the right place for you.
Kamila S — Google review
Don’t go there. First of all, the staff is rude. I asked in English where is the toilet . He answered in Russian, pointing to somewhere. I didn’t understand and he acted rude. Secondly, my friend asked for a Mamaliga without extras. When it arrived, he explained it was without extra . They said they would charge as if there was no extra. When the bill arrived, the waiter just said “I will not correct the bill - you have to pay with extra”. Never go there if you are a tourist!!!

Delicious Cusma lui Guguta. For single, there is just the pancake version. Size of 4 people get the original Cusma lui Guguta. Still delicious. Tasty coffee. I think the garcon forgot me outside though.
Iambusra — Google review
The other evening, I visited this restaurant upon recommendations from my hotel personnel. I would love to be able to review the dining experience at this restaurant however, upon entering the establishment, the host, who was dressed in a traditional outfit, said “no” to me. I was flummoxed as to the dismissive behavior. I tried to explain that I was interested in dining and he continued to say “no” meanwhile, there were a couple of people waiting to be seated. At one point, the host entered the dining area and returned saying “no” for a third time. As someone who has enjoyed dining out regularly for years, I can say that I never received such a response from the person responsible for welcoming guests.

The Sala Clasica is bright and open with an adorable kitchen setup, while the Aristocrat Hall exudes a more historic feel with white-clothed tables and iron chandeliers.
Traditional Romanian and Moldovan Cuisine paired with traditional ambience. Best part was a separate section for vegetarians in the Menu. They have very good traditional live music during evenings. We enjoyed the food, place and music so much that we visited it thrice in a week. Their beans soup and fried potatoes (they serve it along side cooked semolina) were amazing. Even their freshly baked traditional bread was also very delicious. To go here and have a meal is a delightful and historical experience which gives you a ride into the romanian / moldovan culture.

Very good lamb meat and appetizers. Service very friendly if a bit slow. Life music starts at 8 PM. Payment by credit card no problem

A very good place to feel and taste Moldavian traditions. Very good local dishes menu. The restaurant is designed as a set if separate halls with different topics. Unfortunately they didn't have wine in glasses, only full bottles

Service is ok. Dishes on the pricy side (€20/400gr grilled meat and veggie) but had a delicious lunch with grilled meat, dumplings meat and samale

Modern European restaurant
Restaurant
Jeraffe is a fusion restaurant in Chisinau that has left many visitors impressed with its exceptional service and delicious dishes. The staff's remarkable ability to remember guests' preferences even after months creates a sense of being truly valued. The professionalism and culinary skills of the staff have consistently garnered praise, making it a standout dining experience. While slightly pricey, the restaurant's unique approach to food philosophy has won over many patrons who appreciate the blend of Japanese and European cuisine.
The perfect experience! The service is impeccable! The staff is so polite and friendly, the food is made in heaven, delicious, the place is beautiful and clean. I recommend it
Thais P — Google review
I absolutely loved everything about Jeraffe, from the ambiance to the exceptional service and the evident care for guests. We stopped for a quick bite and ordered some sushi rolls. While their execution was spotless, the flavor fell a bit short. The fish had a mealy texture and tasted slightly off, and the rice could have used more seasoning, the abundance of cream cheese in sushi is a bit off putting for me. . Despite this, I'd return anytime to explore more of their menu, especially given their carefully selected wine collection. The appetizer from the chef was a pleasant surprise.
Mihai B — Google review
Very strange place. Menu included Asian, Italian and other types of food- sushi, pasta, etc😁 interiors are also strange. But tase of food was pretty good.. anyway you will not have many better options in Chisinau. Service was very nice, present from chef was very good.
David B — Google review
Very nice atmosphere inside the restaurant, and the food was excellent. We had the salmon tartar for starter. It was one of the best I have ever had. The filet mignon was also excellent. Very attentive service. I would highly recommend this place.

Great restaurant for dinner , delicious sushi
Julian — Google review
We had an amazing experience from the beginning till the end. The food is incredible, the best risotto I ever had in my entire life, even better than in Italy:) sushi also very tasty and fresh. Very intelligent waiters, paying the attention to all the details to serve us. Prices are high but you get what you pay for.
Yulia T — Google review
The ambience is lovely, the restaurant is small and intimate. The service however friendly is a bit slow and forgot a few items a couple of times and was not attentive in terms of wine refill, water refill etc. For a restaurant that is considered as top caliber in Moldova and for it's price-point you expect more care. Although the presentation was nice of the food, the food itself I felt was overpowered by sauces and mayo. I asked for the sushi to have no mayo but there was mayo anyways. I think this place is good for a tea/coffee and some people watching but otherwise I can't recommend the kitchen.

The food was great , but service - better . Ion was very personable , he had great knowledge of the menu , the suggestions were on point . Sushi was great , rainbow roll -highly recommend . The fondant dessert was one of the best I ever tried . Спасибо большое Иван , сервис был замечательный !

Romanian restaurant
Popasul Dacilor is a remarkable destination that offers a truly traditional ambiance. This authentic Moldovan restaurant, owned by a family, is highly popular and frequently visited. The cuisine served here is absolutely delightful, with prices slightly higher in comparison to other establishments of the same nature. The server named Igor Rude seemed disinterested and dissatisfied with his job on both occasions I visited.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Authentic Moldavian Experience at Popasul Dacilor Popasul Dacilor is a true gem for anyone who loves traditional Moldavian and Romanian cuisine. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a warm, rustic atmosphere — wooden décor, folk music, and the aroma of home-cooked food that instantly makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a countryside inn. Portions are generous, prices are fair and the service is friendly and attentive. The staff clearly takes pride in their culture and makes sure every guest feels welcome. The rustic setting, complete with traditional decorations and local wine, adds to the authentic experience. Whether you’re a tourist discovering Moldavian flavors or a local craving a taste of home, Popasul Dacilor is a must-visit. It’s more than just a meal — it’s a taste of history, hospitality, and tradition.

Visited in March 2025. This charming restaurant is located on the outskirts of Chișinău, offering an authentic glimpse into traditional Moldovan cuisine. Conveniently situated along a main road, it provides several options for roadside parking, making it easily accessible for both locals and visitors. The menu features a variety of classic Moldovan dishes, prepared with local ingredients. The food was good, solid and satisfying, though not exceptional. Prices were fair and reflected the quality of the meals. What truly sets this restaurant apart is its unique location and captivating ambiance. The interior is beautifully decorated with rustic wooden elements, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels like stepping into a well-preserved historical estate. The attention to detail in the decor, from handcrafted wooden furniture to traditional Moldovan motifs, reflects the cultural heritage of the region. This combination of authenticity and comfort creates a setting that is both nostalgic and refined. Adding to the authentic experience, the staff is dressed in traditional Moldovan attire, which enhances the cultural atmosphere and provides a welcoming sense of tradition. Their service is outstanding—professional, attentive, and genuinely caring, ensuring that every guest feels valued and well taken care of. The restaurant itself is impressively spacious, allowing for a comfortable dining experience without feeling crowded. It is meticulously clean, with every corner reflecting the care and dedication put into maintaining the venue. The harmonious blend of traditional design, impeccable service, and authentic ambiance makes this restaurant not only a place to eat but a place to truly experience Moldovan culture. An absolute visual delight and a memorable setting.

We went there for dinner and the place was just wow! Amazing atmosphere, very quaint, with a fireplace, traditional decor, music and cozy rooms. The food was tasty and the wine good as well. The servers were attentive and the food was delivered in a timely manner. All in all a very pleasant "old" Christmas Eve!

Cold service. I would not give even a single star. Like we forced the waiter to serve us:)) At least, this is how we felt… Food average. We were six, from which only 2 were satisfied with their food. I feel it is overpriced for what’s offered. Beautiful place and nice atmosphere.

We decided to have dinner and we got as a result this restaurant We went in and we were pleasantly surprised by its look of how well it looks on the outside but wait to see how well designed it is and how authentic it is designed The waiters they all wear traditional folkloric clothing which goes well with it’s design The restaurant it’s extremely well looked after and as I said at the start, it’s so nicely decorated (table wear, candles , old torches, the wood all around it looks as it was done before For drink we got a bottle of Malbec from Purcari which was a very good choice As our stater we shared the traditional Sarmale which they are mouth watering . We absolutely loved it 😊 As our main course I had the Salmon with grilled vegetables and my husband had the Duck in a pot which as well they were delicious For our dessert we shared pancakes with hot chocolate We were very well looked after by the lovely waiter . The service was excellent and very attentive Our first time here and we will be back again 😊

The food was great and looked very good. Pricey for Chisinau, but worth it. BUT service and music is terrible. Service- as foreigners we needed few more minutes to read and understand the menu. But the waiter was asking every minute if we are ready. Music - very, very loud trashy music (not live). We could not hear each other at the table. We have asked if its possible to lower the volume - negative. Thus we were not able to talk to each other and enjoy the evening. Fair to say we were here on Saturday (not sure if this is a local custom 🤷🏼‍♂️)

The food here was very good. The octopus with puree was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. The shrimps were surprisingly good, but a bit too sweet for me. The ribs were also perfect, and the fish dishes were good.

Andy's Pizza is a popular chain in Chisinau, with numerous locations throughout the city. Despite its prevalence, it defies expectations of being low-quality fast food. The permanent menu offers good dishes at reasonable prices, while the seasonal menu is even better. The atmosphere is described as relaxing, although dining on the terrace can be noisy due to passing cars. Visitors praise the delicious and eye-catching cuisine, with a good selection of cocktails and local beer available.

The food is great in this restaurant as I been there before, but me and my friends visited it today and were extremely disappointed by the staff members which haven’t been welcoming and the atmosphere fet like there is a lot of pressure. Not joyful start of the day! Recommending for food only and not the staff.

Food and beer was delicious, but staff was very slowly. If we are end with eating and drinking, they ignored us for one hour. Until we came directly to the service ask for bill.

Fair price, decent food. However, the service was unbelievably slow for two carbonaras, while my pizza came in about 2 minutes, so I ate it before my friends got their food. However, it was fine.

I often come to Andy’s, and one of the main reasons I keep returning is the exceptional service. Andreea, in particular, stands out — she’s not only professional and attentive, but also genuinely kind and deeply human. She has served me many times, always with a bright smile, positive energy, and a natural warmth that makes every visit a pleasure. Andy’s is lucky to have her, and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and even greater people.

La Sarkis is a prestigious restaurant situated in the heart of the capital, near the main entrance to Valley of the Mills park. Specializing in Armenian cuisine cooked in a tandoor, it offers an expansive terrace for guests to enjoy during both summer and winter. The lush surroundings create a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. The staff prides themselves on providing authentic dishes and friendly service.
Recently visited the restaurant and was impressed by the high-quality food and excellent service. Yes, it was quite expensive—two to three times more than typical places—but the quality reflects that. Also saw negative reviews mentioning ‘racist’ attitudes, but how they can be when even there was a waiter with brown skin who was friendly and professional.

Great food , service and atmosphere. A little pricey for Moldova, so careful what you order.
Surge — Google review
A great place but not cheap! The $$$$ are not for show. The food is great especially the bread with cheese and the service is great as well in different languages. They have good music which is loud enough to create a good vibe but not loud enough to not be able to have a conversation.
Wouter L — Google review
Very tasty pancake with seafood and a amazing lemonade with rosemary
Anne T — Google review
It was a complete disappointment; the service was terrible. First of all, the waiter didn’t even introduce himself and was clearly very drunk — he reeked of alcohol. We had to repeat our order several times because he kept forgetting what to bring. The call button either didn’t work, or he simply ignored it. In the end, one of the dishes we ordered was never served, yet the bill included a large bottle of water that we neither ordered nor received. The music was way too loud. The DJ might be good, but this was definitely not music for a restaurant — it felt more like being at a rave where you have to eat quickly and leave. This is absolutely not the level of comfort you expect in a fine dining setting. The only positive was that the food was genuinely very tasty. Everything else left a very negative impression.

We have been there for 2 days in the weekend for dinner and after party. An amazing place, not only for Chisinau but generally, in the world. Food and atmosphere was amazing. Service on perfection. Definitely a place to be recommended at every step.

Beautiful place and atmosphere. The food tastes good. All of us paid, but the server said there is 800 wasn’t paid. We asked for the items that weren’t paid but he said “i don’t know” and he was doing his calculations manually on the phone even he has an automated system. Ao obviously this is a SCAM. Went there on Sunday with friends. But the music was too loud. We asked to turn it down so many times, but was useless. We weren’t able to hear each other, then we just left the place. We literally were the only table at 10:00 pm.

Patryk M — Google review
I went during the week and the food and service were great. Were not allowed at the party because `there is a reservation list you had to reserve one week prior`, but as I was leaving another another guy came speaking english saying he has no reservation and was greeted right in. The party organisers are clearly selecting what they think is rich, very kitsch attitude. The music was bad anyway. If you have some class skip the party and just enjoy the restaurant and view by day. There is another party place nearby, much better music, starts at 2am, in a tunnel right across the street from no1 supermarket.

Overall - ok. View is great, cocktails are great, sushi - nice presentation, but so so taste. Very pricey. 20% tips they add automatically to your bill. Also, we saw people were smoking cigarettes inside the lounge. We were not offered to go to the non smoking side of the lounge, even the place was pretty empty.

Haven’t had dinner there, only came for a bottle of wine at sunset and really enjoyed the design, the view and the vibe. On the wine list, go for Equinox or Pelican Negru, these are the closest options for natural wine in the country.

First time here. The plate I ordered had a lot of herbs by shadowing the meat and other side assortments were like left from previous client. The plate at photo is what they brought which has things not as per the description at Wine Snacks. Waiters had iced cold faces and they were behaving like we owed money to them. No body is paying attention to see you rising your hand for demanding something. There was this constant noise coming from the stereo, amplified by the kitchen rumours and strengthened by clients speaking next to you since tables are very very close. For what we paid, it wasn't worthy.

Amazing dinner experience: from the starter (hummus) to the dessert (cheesecake) and even the drink (lemonade), everything was absolutely delightful.

I ordered a filet mignon, and it came extremely salty — and I usually enjoy salty food, but this was impossible to eat. They suggested a beef fillet instead, but what I received was a piece of boiled, tasteless meat. The Fattoush salad was also disappointing. Chisinau International Airport offers a top-notch travel experience with its efficient and professional staff, modern facilities, and well-organized layout. The immigration and security procedures are swift, ensuring a seamless journey. Travelers can enjoy a variety of shops, restaurants, and amenities while waiting for their flights. The airport also features comfortable waiting areas with charging sockets available. Additionally, the Golden Jet Lounge provides a premium experience for eligible visitors.
Quite a small airport for an international airport with only 9 gates however there are about 20 flights a day running 24hrs 7 days a week. The airport is clean, tidy and easy to navigate. Staff are friendly, calm and professional. The airport does a calm feel about it and although small it does have a duty free shop and a restaurant upstairs with prices very good for an airport. The airport is modern with efficient service. Very clean. During the holiday season it gets quite busy, but I didn’t feel any discomfort because of it. What struck me as very unusual was the sight of numerous luxury Ukrainian cars in the parking lot, which is rather odd for a country at war.

Very nice modern airport. Great "cafe" upstairs offering good quality food and drinks at reasonable prices. What an unpleasant experience all around. For such a tiny airport, you’d think they have it together! They don’t. Because it’s “National Language Day” (a public holiday in Moldova apparently), the police have closed the entry road to the airport!!! So my driver (who’s unusually kind and sweet for the average Moldovan) regretfully dropped me off outside and I had to drag my suitcase up a broken, steep ramp and walk about 500 metres to the airport entrance. The staff at the airport everywhere are so unfriendly and grouchy. No matter what you ask them and how, they make you feel unwelcome. Even at the Duty Free where they need your business, they seem to feel tortured by it! Avoid this country unless you absolutely have to.

Small and uncomfortable airport. It has many issues they need to fix. First of all it's too crowded. It's impossible to find a sit, so people sitting on the floor on the stairs. Food is not tasty, the stuff is unfriendly.
