I had a great ride with Cleggan Beach Riding centre. The owners were thorough with instructions and checked our riding ability in the arena before venturing out on the ride. I was one of 3 riders, fortunately all of us were experienced riders. We took a small picturesque country road our to the island walking and trotting along the way. Once we got to the island we had several controlled canters on the sand. As a mature rider of 55 year old I appreciated tat I could have a ride that was exciting and safe at the same time. My horse was a perfect gentleman and I could not have asked for a nicer riding experience , owners, instructors and horses were all very professional and down to earth.
What an island to visit.. facilities are 5*. Staff and residents very friendly. A very relaxed area. A place to put the feet up. Enjoy the sights.
We took 4 children here for 1/2 hour ride and the host Ron was absolutely brilliant with them, the kids aged from 4 to 12 loved every second. The horses/ponies were perfect. Excellent experience for all!
The route we rode took us to a marvelous beach with teal blue waves and a very picturesque view of the sea. Our guide was very kind and helpful, and also very knowledgeable of the area's history. The whole track was very adjustable to the rider's skill level, and we had loads of fun! A hidden gem of Cleggan I'd say! Just have enough warm clothes with you, rest is provided by the lovely staff 💚
This place was a wonderful experience. Being a novice rider, I was a bit nervous but Joanne was patience and took wonderful care of us. It’s a beautiful part of the world. Thank you so much!
...good support for novice riders like me... Nice 1 1/2 hour stroll (and sometimes a bit faster!) to the beach with a group. Sore knees, but nice experience.
Our 2 daughters loved the ride on the beach. They went for an hour trek as only beginners. They were taught the basics and all staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone wanting to experience Connemara ponies in beautiful surroundings.
Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. We arrived in the midst of the remnants of a hurricane, and JoAnne told us she would still guide us if we wanted to go. She and her whole family care out to match us to the right horses and the trail ride was a lot of fun. My wife and I would love to come back in the future on a sunny 😉 Irish day.
