Working as a wedding & events photographer, I have had the chance to photograph in the most prestigious castle in Burgundy "The Clos Vougeot" a building full of history & traditions, guarded by the brotherhood of "The Knights of the Tastevin" The receptionist do a great job, specially the young man. It can be visited over the day and also the venue can host events on weddings. Great place to host the cocktail and dinner for your wedding, not far from the church local churches and city town halls if you get married locally. The most beautiful & prestigious vineyard in Burgundy & the world!
An incredible area, the testimony of a heritage, that of the Burgundian monastic orders. A real embassy for Burgundy around the world, dedicated to fantastic wines and gastronomy. You can eat there at La Table de Leonce, discovering the talent of the Chef Alexandra Bouvret. Currently and until next April, there is an exhibition celebrating Brillat-Savarin, a fine gastronome and renowned culinary author. You need to go and Visit this particular castle if you search to understand the burgundy and French history and soul ! You will be delighted !
I booked a tour and tasting. It was great. Very informative. The gentleman answered all of my many questions and took his time with both myself and my wife. It was quite something to tour the chateau.
I had a really wonderful experience attending an event here. It is lovely and charming place for special events. The staff were wonderfully pleasant. Highly recommended.
We did the guided tour, I loved our guide ! She talked with so much passion about the life of the castle and it was interesting throughout the whole tour.
Wine growing area. Burgundy wine is a UNESCO recognized brand. It is processed and produced here
We paid €12 per person to enter... a quite small exhibition. There were 10-15 points of interest, but only the gigantic medieval grape presses were actually worth seeing (I include a picture in this review so you don't have to go yourself). English information was lacking throughout, the leaflet seemed to number the exhibits out of order with the reality. We would not go again. The castle itself is situated in a beautiful area and the drive there was really nice! We should have gone for a walk around on the outside instead.
This Chateau is a must. Well preserved, great choice of wines, nice souvenirs, great atmosphere

Loved the prestige tour and the tasting of 5 really great wines (mostly 1er cru!). Had a nice guided tour by David and the cave has a great selection from 6 producers under same ownership. I’d recommend it, and I’d even come back for the shop.
Such an amazing experience, how lovely place and people. We had a really nice wine tasting tour of 10wines. We bought also many wines. Highly recommend. We will indeed come back here
Perfect place to discover wines from Burgundy. Friendly staff, good selection. They do tastings every day but I would suggest to book this in advance
We had a great visit at La Grande Cave de Vougeot. Our guide was very cheerful, and knowledgeable! She took the time to explain a lot of things about the beautiful region of Burgundy and its fine wine. Highly recommend!
We loved our tasting here. Thanks to Pierre-Yves - he had extensive knowledge and was so lovely and patient with all our questions. We learnt so much which was handy as it was our first stop, so we felt well equipped to continue our tastings at other places. The caves were interesting too, definitely worth visiting!!
Very poor experience. €48 for two people which included a rushed tour and a sampling of five wines which took less than 30 minutes. Not even close to the experience that should be provided at that price point. This is particularly evident when other places offer free or very affordable tastings and tours. To top it off, there is no bathroom for patrons. A true disappointment.
We visited this shop last year and received a very friendly and welcoming reception. The staff let us taste some wines before making our decision, which meant we could bring home bottles that really suited our preferences. This year, we decided to drive from Besançon again to stock up for the winter and looked forward to the same great experience. Unfortunately, we were disappointed this time. There were no tastings offered at all, and when we asked about something similar to what we had purchased last year, we were given a different wine to taste that didn’t really match our taste. When we asked if there were any other options to try, we were told “we can’t open every bottle,” and that was that. In the end, we bought two bottles of the recommended wine but felt that next time we might as well shop at a supermarket, since we cannot properly evaluate the wines here anymore. Perhaps it was different staff member last year who provided such good service, but unfortunately we do not see ourselves returning again. We truly enjoyed the visit last year, but it seems things have changed. A shame.
Incredible experience ! David the sommelier took us through an outstanding journey across Bourgogne. We had incredible wines, learnt a lot and got a chance to ask all questions possible. This experience was more tha 5 stars!

A must visit on any Nuits Saint George itinerary. Jeannette will guide you with an education about the region. She’s extremely knowledgeable and able to tailor her approach to any guest. We were extremely pleased with the wines as well. We recommend visiting Clos du Vougeot before your visit. It’s a wonderful way to have some additional knowledge of the area and respect for the thousand years of winemaking in behind the wines you will experience here.
Great place to start your visit to the various Domaines in the area. Very lovely tasting cave.
Had a wonderful time at a Maison Vougeot which is two steps away from the vineyard. It's the boutique of the Maisons Jean-Claude Boisset and JCB. The hostess took a lot of time to explain the particularities of Burgundy, its terroirs and its grapes flavor profiles. At the end of the explanation we had a tasting of their wines, they have a points system to chose the wines you want to test which is really well done. I choose to indulge in their best wines. Overall, really recommend going there!
Hosted by the Boisset family in Vougeot, this will relate the full story of Jean-Claude Boisset !
Posted hours: open until 1:30 pm. I arrived at 12:30....closed. zero stars.
Great wine tasting experience
