Awesome day out with the kids. The entry includes a visit around the cave and the history behind the place, a run though all tools and weapons with some practice for the kids, a hunting trial, some musical instruments and demos with kids participation and a practical session on 'wall painting'. It lasts about 2/2.5hrs and it is very interactive for the kids (and adults too). We went last year but had to come back this year again. It is so much fun and vey interesting too! The kids and I love it!
We saw in the advertisement that this prehistoric site also had children's activities, so we signed our 6-year old up and spent about 2½ hours in a learning/activity course. The staff was very nice and translated some of the lectures into English, but it was rather boring. I was disappointed because most of the activities amounted to a lecture, rather than more hands-on. Lots of teaching, but not much doing. If you speak French, its probably more interesting. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you are over-enthusiastic about prehistoric history, or have a lot of extra time. The price of 8€ /person is too high - there is not much to see here when compared to other activities and caves in the area. If you're not part of the course, there is only 1 basic exhibit, and a mediocre video. You can't even see the special rock, since its protected. There are better things to do in Lot.
(Translated by Google) This small but very well-presented site is primarily aimed at young people or those curious about local history, but adults who have retained their childlike wonder will also find plenty to enjoy. The materials are very well designed. It's well worth a visit if you have children under 14, as they will be captivated by the well-designed and engaging workshops. Don't hesitate to ask questions, as the instructors are passionate and highly knowledgeable about their subject. In short, a little local gem that I warmly recommend.
(Translated by Google) A must-do with children. First, a short walk and explanations of the excavation site's area. But then, and most importantly, what's really interesting are the activities: learning about hunting weapons, painting like prehistoric people, musical instruments, and tanning. The staff is very dedicated, friendly, and professional. Be sure to arrive at the activity times. Highly recommended site.
(Translated by Google) Young and old alike were delighted with our visit to the archaeosite. It's very different from other educational sites on prehistory. In addition to the explanations and the excavation site museum, we were shown during small workshops: - how humans hunted with and what types of weapons they used, including a spear throw and spear thrower. - the different types of musical instruments, with a demonstration and the opportunity for children to try them out. - cave painting techniques, where you can leave with your own drawing. Finally, the children participated in the pendant-making workshop (book in advance) and left delighted with their prehistoric necklace. In short, it's a great family activity and very fun for children.
(Translated by Google) A super interesting visit made as a family with children aged 7 and 9. Interesting and interactive, both for children and adults. We learned a lot. The small additional workshop for the children (making necklaces for us) was perfect and well supervised. I recommend it, well done and thank you to the team (Original) Une visite super intéressante faite en famille avec des enfants de 7 et 9 ans.

(Translated by Google) The team that runs it is exceptionally kind, the activities are great for both young and old, and a big plus in this period of extreme heat: the site, which is very pleasant, spacious, and bright, is air-conditioned! Thank you for this wonderful time. However, remember to check the times for the departures of guided tours and workshops!
