Historical manor that has very important role in Finland's history throughout centuries. Now IT IS open to public and offers very versatile programme to visitors: differenf exhibitions, many concerts during the summer and cafe and restaurant serving delicious meals and snacks.
Beware: "K18" means 18+ Very disappointed to find that out at the door. Customer service was no help and after more than an hour only able to offer two names of patrons seeking tickets; neither of whom actually were. I read the info section at least twice and did not get any idea that we would be denied entry since the only mention of minors was that they required a guardian to accompany them.
Museum exhibits are nice and well curated, but in terms of quantity there really isn't a lot of value for money. The milieu itself is great of course, so spend some time wandering the grounds. Wouldn't bother with the restaurant, the service is slow and quite rude, and they genuinely seem to have no idea what products they have available.
2021:Great food and nice service. Entire area is really beautifull. Including Art around 8n buildings. 2025 fantastic music paradice garden including beverage and food service. Not to forget that this is firat place for me ever, where huge amount of customers were served professionally as well with sanitary.
The summer lunch buffet is of very good quality.
Hi, very hot day and place crowded. Staff was super friendly and we were served very nicely. We will probably visit future gigs here as well.
Summertime concerts, super. Excellent food and beverages etc. Thanks Liisa!
We went years ago and it was lovely! Had a nice waffle with ice cream and strawberries in a table in the grass. Music and lively vibes. But we went a week ago and it changed completely. They dont have the waffle anymore. The outside sitting for the cafe is next to the wall, one next to another, not in the grass around. Its a mess because you come in and theres the cafe buffet restaurant all in the same area. You dont know what is what or whats the price of what. All is there messed up. And prices are crazy. Sorry but never more. Not worth it

(Translated by Google) An excursion destination that stirs the imagination, with quite good signposts. Easy to find and the parking lot is big. On a drizzly winter day, you could explore burial mounds, juniper sheep pastures and lush groves all by yourself. The place is in a beautiful lake landscape, although the atmosphere is disturbed a little by the constant traffic of Vesilahdentie. Päivääniemi's name is special. In Eero Ojanen's book Finnish ancient remains (Otava 1995) it is assumed that the relationship of Iron Age people to death and the deceased was bright and close. "Päivölä" originally meant "land of the dead", only later was the name established as tuonela. According to Ojanen, the cemetery was not a dark or scary place for contemporaries, but a center emphasizing the continuity of life. There was a similar calm, even comforting atmosphere in Päiväälä now, in the corona winter of 2020. (Original) Mielikuvitusta kutkuttava retkikohde, jossa on varsin hyvät opasteet. Helppo löytää perille ja parkkipaikka on iso. Tihkusateisena talvipäivänä sai tutkia hautaröykkiöitä, katajaista lammaslaidunta ja rehevää lehtometsää aivan yksikseen. Paikka on kauniissa järvimaisemassa, tunnelmointia tosin häritsee vähän Vesilahdentien jatkuva autoliikenne. Päivääniemen nimi on erikoinen.
(Translated by Google) An interesting piece of Finnish Iron Age history. At times forested, but by reading the Guideboards you can get a rough idea of how the different parts of the cemetery are placed in the environment. (Original) Mielenkiintoinen pala Suomen rautakautista historiaa. Aikalailla metsittynyttä, mutta opastaulut lukemalla voi suunnilleen hahmottaa, miten kalmiston eri osat sijoittuvat ympäristöön.
