I've been there twice now. Loved it both times. Mad place in the middle of nowhere in the Extremadura. A highlight of my visit to the region both times. Looking forward to the next time.
In the most unlikely of places, in the middle of a natural park in the beautiful plains of the Extremadura region, with an intensity of enormous boulders, 20km outside Caceres, in the impressive industrial warehouses of a former wool factory, you fine the museum of the German artist Wolf Vostell, the pioneer of video art installations, Happenings and the Fluxus Movement. His impressive exhibit of personal art collection is combined with an even larger show of 250 artworks by Fluxus artists, incl. Yoko Ono and Eric Andersen.
Interesting place to visit, especially due to the location in the old Lavadero de Lana. The do not allow to take pictures of the inside, which is a shame as showing pictures to friends would be a nice way to promote the place with friends. Anyway it was nice to visit and I would recommend it.
I like art that makes a statement and has a sense of humour and there is plenty of this here. The surroundings in the Los Barrueros Natural Monument are beautiful. The history of the building as a wool washing complex is also interesting but it is the art works you will remember. The installations were created in the 1980s and 1990s and take cars, TVs and concrete and consider how these everyday items were taking over our lives. What would Wolf Vostell think of computers and phones today?
Loved that museum. The contemporary art collection made me reflect about some issues of the human condition. That big pieces and the natural ambience makes a particular environment for that art. Also, the Barruecos natural sight is a great place to spend some time walking betweet the rocks in peace. Recommended visit.
Think Marfa (Texas) chinati museum in a European setting... Gorgeous!
Such a bizarre and incredible contemporary art collection. It's museums like this that make me want to learn more about contemporary art, which is not what I'd say for most museums. The artists involved with both Vostell and the Fluxus movement seemed to be clearly very concerned or interested in how industrialization is affecting us, and what a great thing to be concerned about.
Just fell in love with the work at display. A must visit place for admirers of contemporary art. The rather eccentric way of expressing man and machine relationship, using everyday objects with audiovisual effects, takes the experience to a different level altogether.

This place is gorgeous! Photo’s can’t capture the beauty of this (quiet) place, so make sure to visit is. We had doubts since it was a little far off our route, but where very happy to made this stop. Easy (offroad) drive and great scenery directly from the road/car!
Beautiful landscape and very nice walking trails, deserves a 5 star. I give it 4 stars because of the loud motorbikes we found everywhere. It's strange that it's written everywhere that one should speak softly to not disturb the birds. But then loud motorbikes are allowed. The park officials should not allow this, very bad for the breeding birds and also for walking tourists. Spoils the atmosphere
You should visit Natural Monument Los Barruecos if you really enjoy nature observation and geology, mainly granite, In general. Those, were formed from plutonic extrusion millions of years ago and with the exposition to erosive agents, they’ve been breaking modeling, gaining spectacular shapes.
Really great park that is accessible. You can drive right to the trailhead and the walk to the famous looking rocks and concrete car is a mere 10 minute stroll. There are lots of different trails. It is perfect to go in the evening when it is not too hot.
Such a beautiful, beautiful place!
Very beautiful place, pieceful and quite. Famous for the battle scene in Game of Throne
Very peaceful and incredible array of wildlife to be seen
Impressive!!! Please also visit the museum and the cosy bar
