Absolutely amazing experience to visit what is seen as a very important archaeological site in Kos. The tomb of King Harmylos. The chapel above is lovely and is taken care of by a very interesting gentleman. After a visit and a lovely chat we left with a biscuit each. We intend to return when the weather is a little cooler. Don't be disappointed by the lack of , chrome, glass and interactive displays. This is true history.
I love rocks. Unsure who this king is as google searches doesnt not come up with much and most people in the area dont seem to know. Sadly feel like this knowledge is lost in time. However i love historical rocks so was cool to see. Id recommend only going if A) Love Rocks B) Need something to do
Beautiful chapel. Interesting place. The wonderful attendant made this visit worthwhile! the best 10 euros I've ever donated!
Depending on who you speak to or which article you read, this tomb is either only dedicated to Harmilos or he is buried 2.5 metres below the room with 6 burial chambers. Regardless of that, what is most important is that you treat the gentleman that looks after the tomb and chapel with great care and respect. He's old and doesn't speak to clearly. But he will offer you a biscuit. Donations are welcomed as well.
Probably has a lot of histrionic things related to it but couldn’t seem to find out alot about him on google , so as it stood it’s just a room. Again if close by then av a look if not I shouldn’t bother
The best there is the man that is taking care of it. It's very pleasant, friendly and informative person. He won't let you go without delicious fruit and good story.
Little place next to old Chapel. There was a lovely old man showing us round
Small, beautiful, peaceful.
