The visit started at the tourist center with super friendly service also in English. relatively new (20 years) national park very close to Slovenian border. 2 nice lakes for fishing and swimming. Lots of small water streams, trees and many small villages. Free entry to most of the attractions

The best way to appreciate this lovely area is on foot or, like I did, by bicycle. Pretty villages, glorious vistas and abundant nature make this a relaxing and rewarding place to visit. The roads are largely free of heavy traffic though the signposting for the Orseg 2 bike trail which I tried to follow was rather erratic. I somehow ended up on the busy Route 86 which is on the east side of the area and it was not pleasant!
