Dolina je tudi prvi slovenski krajinski park, ustanovljen že leta 1949. Po dolini je, kot se za tako naravno znamenitost spodobi, speljana tudi naravoslovna učna pot. Na učni poti s pomočjo informativnih tabel izvemo vse – v prvi vrsti o Velikem in Malem naravnem mostu, ki sta pravzaprav ostanka jamskega stropa. Rakov Škocjan je namreč nastal, ko se je zrušil strop kraške jame in tako je nastala slikovita udornica. Pot je lahko krožna, vendar so informativne table samo v eni smeri.
