Beautiful town, hiked up to Herzogstand and got the best views! Hike was moderate to difficult. Well worn trail easy to follow 2.5 hours to the top and you can catch the gondola down
One of the most beautiful lakes I had ever seen or swam in. I recommend renting a paddle board on the other side of side of the road. Cost per hour 15€. Lake itself is pretty cold but crystal clear!
Very beautiful place! If you are planning to stay many days around, mind that there is no super market close by, so is better to do some groceries at the village before the lake (approximately 20 min by car).
One of the finest lakes to swim in! Water is indeed cold but clean The shallow water near the rocks, under the hot sun is indeed refreshing. Apart from that the toilet is nearby and free of charge. Parking near the lake is 7€ for the whole day. Options to eat are available until 17.00hrs. The cable car that goes up the mountain for the tremendous view of the lake is also open until 17.00 hrs. A great weekend getaway with family and friends into the turquoise-green color!
Beautiful lake, a bit cold. Parking 7 euros whole day, near the lake. Mostly grass and 2,3 beaches in the south. It has a little play area for kids and a restaurant.
I love this lake it’s peaceful and surrounded by beautiful hiking trails. The café by the lake in Urfeld offers a variety of food and drinks. The view of the Alps makes the whole experience truly special.
A very nice place to spend time with kids..😊The location is beautiful and it was quiet and the water was very clear and it looked like we were in a fairy tale village..
Super! The water is so turquoise.. love to be here..

(Translated by Google) Simple, large rooms with very old furnishings that reflect the charm of a hundred years ago. You get a down-to-earth breakfast and if it's not enough you can order more. There is also cheap bike and boat rental and a private beach. The sanitary facilities are a bit old but clean. For the price including breakfast everything was great.
(Translated by Google) The rustic, historical furnishings create a great atmosphere. The sanitary facilities are shared. Everything is spacious and the place on the south bank of Lake Walchensee was not so crowded in the off-season (autumn 2020). Ms. Kiefersauer and her family were friendly, reserved and always helpful. This was exactly what we wanted for bike tours and hikes.
(Translated by Google) We were looking for a quiet place to stay. As luck would have it, we stopped by the lovely Mrs. Kiefersauer. My wife and I have never recovered so well in the 2 days as we did here. If you're looking for chic, you've come to the wrong place. If you're looking for relaxation, you've found a gem here and thanks again to Ms. Kiefersauer for the lovely 2 days and we'll definitely want to spend our short vacations with you in the future. (Translated by Google) Vacation in the former royal forester's lodge Since 2003, I have spent around 50 vacation days at Haus Kiefersauer and am always thrilled. Who stays in a former forester's lodge of King Ludwig II? The listed magnificent building (approx. 175 years old) is located on an area of over 4 hectares directly on the southern bank of Lake Walchensee and can only be reached via a toll road. So completely shielded, no mass tourism (see also: The Einödhof at Walchensee)! According to the original use, the accommodation is down-to-earth in 7 guest rooms, which reflect the life of days gone by. And that is exactly the objective. Anyone who accepts this original simplicity will be more than rewarded with a wonderful location on Lake Walchensee (with its own boathouse and fisherman's lounge). I just spent 2 weeks with the Kiefersauer and booked again straight away!
(Translated by Google) Completely listless and careless, you don't feel welcome as a guest. It's just not fun to be in this place. We left early.
(Translated by Google) I saw it on TV today here in North Rhine-Westphalia 😍 nice and quiet there! not as crowded as on Lake Garda.
(Translated by Google) Unfriendly and disgusting behavior! You feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome...
