It’s truly Stu Omg here! We just went for a stroll around the vineyard and enjoyed their delicious wine at the end. The views were mesmerizing and so peaceful! We hardly saw anybody on the way and really got lost on the nature. The reception building offered water and had a fantastic aroma from some exclusive fragrance they used. I wish they sold it! I can’t recommend this place enough but I hope it does t become too busy because it’s perfect when there aren’t too many people there. Everywhere you gaze could easily be a I Pessimist pairing, it’s like a dream.
Quinta Nova Nossa Senhora do Carmo is a stunning winery in the Douro Valley that offers an unforgettable experience. The location is breathtaking, with panoramic views of the vineyards and river. The estate is beautifully maintained, blending history with elegance. The wine tasting was excellent – informative, relaxed, and featuring high-quality wines that reflect the richness of the region. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, enhancing the experience with their passion and insight. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or just exploring the Douro, this place is a must-visit. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to others.
Quinta Nova Winery House Is spectacular !! The rooms are stunning and private like a cottage. Contemporary rooms but the hotel area is historical! The Wines are amazing and the Staff is impeccable !! We were greeted by Bruno who gave us a guided tour of the hotel. The one of the staff offered us drinks on the veranda facing the Vineyard! I’m attaching the photos of the staff and photos I have shared with Quinta Nova!
Had a pleasant stay at Quinta Nova. The service was amazing from the time we arrived - the staff took care of our luggage while letting us enjoy the view. The setting of the resort is stunning, surrounded by winery’s terrace overlooking Duoro river. We did the wine tasting and had one of the best dinners at the restaurant. Additionally, don’t forget to order Veal burgers if you can! It’s super delicious. This is definitely a kind of Relais Chateaux experience.
Portugal may indeed be suffering from over-tourism... but not at Quinta Nova. Its locale in the Douro Valley is beyond stunning; the interplay of mountains, valley, vineyards and light can take the breath away from even seasoned travelers. The hotel offers both charm and comfort, the restaurant serves food worthy of a trip just for that, and the service is genuinely attentive. Go if you have a chance... and stay longer than the two nights we enjoyed. In short, our favorite place in Portugal!
I visited the Winery for my wife’s birthday. Do NOT DO THE WINE TASTING. The pricing for Douro Reserve Tasting is not worth it (€64 per person) when you take the experience and then consider the math after for price of bottles vs the tasting. To illustrate, purchasing the 3 wines from this tasting individually would have cost roughly €122, half of what we paid for the tasting. For 4 of us, we paid €256. The bottles combined cost less. They tried to talk up the Referência P28/P21, not worth it. The quality of wine is not suitable for the price - the explanation on the sheet is no different than what is shared by the host. I emailed on June 30th to raise this issue and requested a callback before making this post to request their feedback. After 4 follow-emails from my side, I finally heard back on Aug 1st from Marta, “We work in wine tourism to provide all our visitors the best experience possible, and in your case it was not an exception, and we are sorry for not fulfill your expectations.” Neither addressing my concern nor open to discuss the issue. Disappointing. Visit the restaurant, but avoid their wine tasting - there is better wine, value and service in the valley. We’ve had many memorable tastings over the years, but this, regrettably, was not one of them and not one we’d feel confident recommending or leaving a positive review on Google. Disappointing. Nearly ruined my wife’s 40th birthday.
Very good Quinta ! Amazing visit, staff and restaurant Fully recommended to go there and enjoy a good visit of the vineyards, caves and restaurant. You will learn a lot of things, have a nice wine tasting and good food. On site the staff was lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable The only downside that really need huge improvement is the booking system. I bought this visit experience through their official website as a gift voucher. It takes them exactly 6 full days for them to provide the voucher by email after I sent them 3 emails ! ( purchase made on 12th June 10h45 / vouchers received on 18th June at 14h20) In my case it was a birthday present that I bought last minute and I was with no real voucher for the birthday day to my parents. The team that handle this a need really improvement, it is the reservation department. This shows as well a lack of consideration for online experience as a customer. You pay on their website, money got taken and then you need to wait for your voucher. Today with a small investment voucher can be automatically generated from your online website and sent automatically to the customers without human intervention ! Then when my father needed to reserve, which this voucher, some issues as well happens through phone with the reservation team. My father is Portuguese and hence speak fully Portuguese. This shows even more the need to conduct and internal audit to this reservation process and team ! You will discover how bad is your online purchases and booking experience ! Hopefully the Quinta experience himself is wonderful ! So fully recommended however be ready for some hassle and struggle with booking/reservation.
The staff was wonderful, the rooms were extremely quiet and comfortable and the food was good. We lucked out and were able to join in on a walking tour of the winery that included pulling an orange off one of their trees and eating it, along with snacks and drinks in one of the valleys onsite.
