I was just outside of this place because they work 10-18.00, so I didn’t have time to visit their museum yet. But they have beautiful territories with a park , so you could walk, also the photo zone is good for weddings. Nearby they have a restaurant “orangery”, so the whole day could be spent there. Next time I will come on 10am to visit their museum and to have time for a lunch in the restaurant. Also you could buy some wine there.
We had a private winery tour. The guide was polite, helpful, and ready to answer all our questions. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to taste food at the restaurant because there was a special event, and the restaurant was closed to visitors. The location is really nice; you can walk around, and I think you can have a picnic. Call ahead to book the winery tour and inquire about the restaurant’s hours. They also offer different master classes, but you should book them at least two weeks in advance
Hands down one of the best vineyards we’ve visited! The staff was super friendly and welcoming They gave us a full tour of the place and explained the whole winemaking process. We even got to walk through the vineyard, pluck grapes straight from the vines, and eat them! Tried three different wines, and honestly, all three were amazing. The location is beautiful and relaxing. You could easily spend half a day here just enjoying the view and the vibe. Highly recommended!
Absolutely in love with the place and story behind it. We arranged in advance excursion with guide, wine tasting and also book a table in restaurant, suggest to visit a place outside the city. Great option for tourists to combine with Mtskheta visit as it is on the way to Chateau.
I have done so many wine tasting in the world and this is probably the worst one. It wasn’t a horrible experience but it’s also not a great one. The area is nice. The entrance feels like I am in Italy. However, there were no signs of “wine tasting” / “wine tour”. We just went to the office area and hoped to find someone. The “tour” started with the wine cellar and it was over, not even entering the chateau or have a short walk in the vineyard. Our guide just mentioned the traditional way of making wine, showed us some old tools, walk through the barrels and voila, job done. He kept asking us if we have questions, and we were like aren’t you supposed to share more things about this vineyard? A guide is supposed to talk more than the guests. While we were walking back to the restaurant for tasting, we walked on the red carpet. And we suspected he said this “joke” to everybody. He said “do you feel like you are Victoria Secret’s Angel?”. He asked multiple times! And my response was “Victoria’s Secret Angels get paid to walk, right now we are not getting paid”. He stopped asking this question. Onto the wine tasting which is supposed to be the highlight. But it’s not! Two reds two whites, honestly mediocre. I would not buy any of it. The portion is far too less. The guide tried to explain by saying yeah wine tasting portion is not much, because you are supposed to taste it. Some people would even spit it out. No, you can spit it out if you want but when you provide only a tiny bit of wine, I don’t even have a spare portion to spit them out. When we were having the last red, the lady pouring the wine was getting stingier. Honestly a shot of tequila would be more than the red wine portion. It’s ridiculous. The tasting experience I got in Spain, Germany, Portugal, Moldova etc were nothing like this. You basically get unlimited refills and unlimited water. That’s how you get your customers. Not by a portion that is less than a shot. Oh and our guide was trying to be funny again (!), and said oh you two will release more emotions after drinking, making these unhinged comments because he was saying we were too shy. A guide’s job is to explain us the vineyard and wine, not expecting their guests to be social butterflies. After I mentioned the portion is way too small, he didn’t even get me a refill, which he should have done for the bare minimum, instead he said I am demanding after drinking. First, I am demanding when I am not drinking, second, the portion is just unacceptable. That’s why he just earned the winery a two stars review.
Château Mukhrani is one of Georgia’s most prestigious wineries, blending centuries of history with modern winemaking excellence. Located just outside Tbilisi, the estate is set against a backdrop of rolling hills and a historic château, making every visit feel like a journey into the past. Founded in the 19th century by Prince Ivane Mukhranbatoni, the winery quickly became a symbol of sophistication and innovation in Georgian viticulture. Today, Château Mukhrani continues this legacy with a perfect balance of tradition and contemporary techniques. The vineyards are cultivated with native Georgian grapes such as Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, and Shavkapito, as well as international varieties, offering visitors a diverse tasting experience. Each wine reflects the unique terroir of the region, with rich aromas and layered flavors that highlight the best of Georgian winemaking. The guided tours provide a fascinating insight into the château’s history, the ancient qvevri method, and the modern cellar, making it educational as well as enjoyable. Whether you’re strolling through the picturesque gardens, exploring the château’s grand halls, or savoring a glass of deep, velvety red on the terrace.
What an unpleasant place. The wine might be fine but it swarms with unmotivated staff, the tour is done with no enthusiasm whatsoever, the restaurants are closed all the time for events but marked “open” on google. When you ask about it staff roll their eyes. Stray dogs on the grounds…well you get the idea.
The way to get there was horrible. The road was blocked and the by-pass was through dirt roads. We arrived only to find out there was an event. They should write on Google that visitation is by appointment only!!!!!!! Very misleading. The guard at the gate was rude an could have at least been more accommodating.
