Interesting tour, great wine! Beautiful location, definitely worth a visit. We didn’t book anything online in advance, and there was someone there who spoke very good English to be our guide. Highly recommend!
It was the most impressive and unforgettable experience to visit the Villa Melnik. The Owner and all the staff were so kind and meticulous in introducing the facilities and explaining how to make wines. Tasting their products was a greatest joy, more than ever. Now I have come much closer to understand how excellent the Melnik wines are. When in Melnik, you should never miss the Villa Melnik.
Exceptional experience at Villa Melnik During our first visit to Melnik, we had time for just one winery, and we chose Villa Melnik. Partly based on its strong reviews and partly because, honestly, it just felt right to drink Melnik wine in the heart of Melnik at a winery named after the Melnik grape! 😊 From the start, Kristina was incredibly responsive and helpful in arranging our visit. It was a real pleasure to meet her in person for the wine tour and tasting. The experience began with a fascinating overview of the history of winemaking in the Melnik region and Bulgaria more broadly. We then enjoyed a guided tour through the cellar, learning about their winemaking techniques and walking through their underground tunnel, which added a wonderful sense of old-world charm to the visit. For the tasting, we chose their special package of six wines, which gave us the perfect opportunity to experience the diversity of the Melnik grape. The explanations were insightful, and several of the wines were truly outstanding. A great introduction to this unique varietal. We left with some beautiful bottles to enjoy back home, along with fond memories of a winery that combines passion, tradition, and hospitality in equal measure. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Melnik. Especially if you want to deepen your appreciation for this exceptional wine region.
Fantastic wine experience! We did the tour of the production rooms and tasting of the wines accompanied by the fruit and nut platter. Staff were incredibly knowledgeable and warm. We also caught the sunset over the beautifully located winery in the autumn setting. Would highly recommend, best winery in the region!
We stayed there with our mobile home for one night and had a lovely wine cellar tour and tasting the next day. A beautiful place with very friendly staff. The wine is also very good, especially the Bulgarian grapes!
We went on a guided tour which was really interesting, with a lot of attention to the detail and learned a lot about the wine making process and the history of this wine region. The wine tasting package was not fixed to given wines, but tailored to the preferences of the guests and we were able to choose which wines to try. The place itself is surrounded by magnificent nature, the wineyards and beautiful mountains on the horizon and a small pond with coi carps on the premises. All this ensures to make you present and take all the tranquility and beauty this region has to offer.
We had such a great time at this winery! The place is beautiful, the wine was excellent, and everyone was so kind. Our guide made the visit really special—she explained everything in a fun and easy way, and we truly enjoyed the experience.
Perfect place for wine lovers. Full of traditional Bulgarian types of wine.
