We had a fantastic time with Matilda. Its free to visit, but give a donation- she deserved the help to keep the fantastic work ongoing. Matilda is fabulous, so knowledgeable, and happy to share it with you. Visit started with a chat and a cuppa, and an introduction to little Lucy the blind owl. We were there for 3 hours, allowed to handle some of the owls and learn all about them. Not just owls but, turkeys, meerkats, kookaburras, guinea pigs...it was a lovely, interesting and relaxing time. You must give it a visit.
Just had a visit here with hubby and my friend who loves owls. Matilda is fabulous, so knowledgeable, and happy to share it with you. Visit started with a chat and a cuppa, and an introduction to little Lucy the blind owl. We were there for 2 1/2 hours, allowed to handle some of the owls and learn all about them. Not just owls here though, turkeys, meerkats, kookaburras, guinea pigs...it was a lovely interesting but relaxing afternoon. Highly recommended!
Such an amazing place and experience. Matilda (the owner) is so knowledgeable of all the birds and animals. Being able to handle/stroke some of the owls was the biggest surprise and highlight. Thoroughly recommend. Thanks Matilda for providing a safe and caring haven.
Visited a wonderful Owl sanctuary, spent 2hrs looking at and holding owls, fantastic experience
What a wonderful time we had with Matilda, who devotes her life to helping these fantastic creatures! The birds are so well cared for loved. Couldn't have asked for a better day out. Matilda gives up her own time to show these birds and educate us, she asks for nothing in return, so please donate as this helps with their daily care and expensive diets of these incredible birds. Thank you Matilda, we need more people like you.
Fabulous place to visit (Book in advance!!) for an experience not to be forgotten. We were welcomed by Mathilda into her home, a superb example of a cave house, and introduced over coffee to Lucy the Little Owl. One friendly and informal chat about the sanctuary and its residents later, we met and interacted with the other birds and animals while being told about their stories. Most of them are friendly and can be handled, while others are as expected quite wild. We spent almost 3 hours with Mathilda and her "family" and could quite easily have stayed longer. Stick this on your to-do list.
A real treat for nature lovers. Beautiful birds of prey, some of which you can hold and touch, some you can see fly and others you can just marvel at. Visits are by reservation only and a donation is welcomed. Informative and interesting, well worth the drive out.
Spent the morning being introduced to the numerous birds and educated about the rescue stories and personalities of each of them by Matilda . It was honestly one of the most enjoyable and interesting places I have been to in a long time. We will definitely be returning very soon.
