Fort Vancouver is a fantastic place to visit at the weekend. Not only does it have great historical displays, you also get people dressing up and acting the part, giving an amazing experience. The whole site is worth visiting, including the visitor center and Pearson Air Museum. If you do everything you can spend half a day here. But sticking with the fort. It has a really nice garden and great reconstructions of everything from the forge to the kitchens. My favourite was the Indian trade shop, where the guys doing the demonstrations not only really knew their history, but really looked the part – see the pictures. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. The visitor center is a good place to start and has a lot of information about the site. I would definitely recommend a visit here and its only 5 minutes off the I-5 so easy to visit if you are passing by.
This National Historic Site was a surprising pleasure! The knowledgeable scientists and historians, along with wonderful volunteers, present the history of this place over a thousand years. It's very accessible for children and there are age appropriate activities. There's even a playground and picnic tables for break time. The location serves the local community as well as the tourists and historians, even encouraging dog rangers.
It was a nice place to walk around and check out, but you have to buy passes to get into different sections of the fort. It was nice but not the coolest fort i have been to. I really liked the museum with the planes but I would have enjoyed to see the buildings, but it was closed when I was there so keep an eye on timing because it closes early on the weekend.
Very well preserved fort. Very interesting history and historical background and more sites in the area. Set near the Columbia River was used for fur trading in the 1825 by the Hudson’s Bay Company. The Native Americans Hawaiians(Kanaka) works and settlers.
September 2025 - This is a fort used by the Hudson Bay company for dealing with natives and others that brought animal pelts to it for processing and bailing, then shipping on the Columbia River to other locations. The 'fort' is part of the National Park Service (NPS) and you can use your NPS pass for entry. The visitor center has very helpful employees and should be the first place you stop. The fort itself is a goodly walk from the visitor center, and if you do not want to do the walk, there is parking at the fort itself. After parking there, you will find a path that leads through a garden area to the main entry where you purchase or show your entry tickets. Once in, you can walk to several buildings and peek in, some are open, some not. The far wall area has the fur bailing area and someone may be there to show you how it was done. Plan on about 2 hours to see each area, and then go to the air museum on the left side of the field, there is a path.
This was a great stop! We were pleasantly surprised at how much interaction there was and information. The airfield and fort were a please to visit. The interactive blacksmith and carpentry shop were fascinating.
It had been a while since I've been here, and I was delighted to find a beautiful exhibit of indigenous art and artifacts, a space for kids to enjoy coloring, and a delightful gift shop. I put my name on an email list so I know about events happening there.
Fort Vancouver is a perfect gem for all kinds of photoshoots—wedding, family, engagement, and portrait sessions. As a photographer, I appreciate how much open space there is, allowing clients to move freely, jump, or run, without any crowding or distractions. This spaciousness truly lets me capture the authentic emotions and moments I love. With its historic buildings, fields, trees, and even a community garden, this location offers endless variety. It’s easy to access from Portland and Vancouver, and I’ve had clients travel from as far as Seattle to enjoy the unique charm here. Ample parking, peaceful surroundings, and a relaxed atmosphere make Fort Vancouver ideal for anyone looking to create beautiful memories, whether it’s for a photoshoot or just a day out. Highly recommended!

Great park with a playground if you have kids. Fun events throughout the summer down here. The trees are nice for shade on those hot days. Very clean. Bathrooms. Fountain area as well for the summer time.
Great place to spend the time with kids. I visited it on weekend and it was a decent crowd especially at kids playground. Lots of greenery and shade. Super fun place
Beautiful little community park and children’s playground with nice tables and benches. The grass or lawn was nicely managed and clean. Dogs on leashes, babies in strollers. Would definitely come again with my kids, would bring a blanket or sheet, for sitting… sometimes the grass can be a little damp. Overall, nice people, nice views and well kept park!
The park is not very big but there is a playground in it and also a lot of seatings. You can find a couple of toilets right by the playgrounds. And also there is a very big tower clock here. Very fancy and classic. There are some coffee and chops on the north side of the playground where you can buy stuff and have a drink. The park location is very close to downtown Vancouver so you can literally walk there with your family and children so they can have some fun after touring the downtown.
This 5-acre park is the oldest public square in the state of Washington, and is located right in the heart of downtown Vancouver. You can pretty much walk anywhere downtown from here. The Vancouver waterfront is just a short walk away (just cross the street) along with Fort Vancouver, Pearson Air Field and Museum, the Discovery Loop, the Vancouver Land Bridge, restaurants and shopping galore; the entertainment is endless. I found the most interesting part about this park to be the clock tower, but you will also find the Slocum House, a beautiful gazebo, picnic shelter/stage, a Victorian rose garden (I will come back in Spring to see this in bloom, because I know it will be just stunning), a well maintained playground, seasonal water features, and a walking path around the park which includes several pieces of art among mature trees here as well, as you will see from my photos/videos. It is lined with benches, so you can sit and people watch, which is always fun to do when downtown in any big city. Also, many different events are held here, such as the Farmers Market (mid-March through October) and a variety of summer festivals. I definitely recommend checking this park out. With so much to do, seeing it is smack dab in the middle of everything, you can't go wrong.
I love the park it's unfortunate the area is going downhill. I was there with my two year old and we decided to take a break and have some snacks. Sitting on the bench by the climbing structure halfway through eating I noticed a bag with drug residue on the bench next to my son. I discarded it once I noticed it, just make sure you watch your kids extremely well because you don't know what they could pick up. Its a great park otherwise.
I had planned to take my two young children to this park while we stayed at the nearby Hilton. We got there a little later in the day than expected, a little before sunset and I didn’t exactly get a “safe for tourists with kids” vibe from the various groups of people in the park which was pretty disappointing.
Nice area for kids to play & explore. In the summer, there is always something going on. The Farmers market is year round on Saturdays and in the spring/summer Sundays too.

Discovered this trail by the Strava suggestions as I am new here. Lovely trail which for most parts runs along the Columbia River. If you are lucky you can spot ships crossing beneath the bridge. Some parts of the trail is near the road well shaded. Near the harbour loading area you cannot go near the river. It’s along the road then joins the Maritime Park. The trail is 4.5 miles and there is ample free parking. If you want to extend the run then take the road across the Marriott then join the newly developed Vancouver waterfront which is another beautiful place.
Great waterfront path with access to the river beach...this is a rocky beach with plenty of room for a blanket if you want to enjoy the scenery. The actual paved path has areas that could use some maintenance and litter cleanup but it was still an enjoyable family Walk.
Beautiful park with 5 miles of walking trails. Lots of shade, picnic benches & a playground for the kiddos. Very well maintained park. I love that it's right by the water too..the walkway is big enough for bikes also. Definitely recommend this beautiful park.
Nice trail that goes along the river and has access to a few small, and beaches along the Columbia River. There are great views of the river and the bridge. There are also restaurants at either end of the trail. It's beautiful in the spring and summer. It can be pretty chilly but still nice in the winter.
Any trail, park, or historic site along the Columbia River, in my opinion, is absolutely stunning year-round! There is seriously no bad time to go. The Waterfront Renaissance Trail is off the north bank of the Columbia River and is truly picturesque! It is a 5 mile one way paved trail, so it is excellent for walking, jogging, biking, and so much more! You can vere off the main trail, like I always do, and hike along the sandy beaches of the river, which are lined with driftwood and colorful river rocks. As you walk this trail, you will come across several restaurants and shopping areas, too, because it is close proximity to downtown Vancouver. In fact, some of the most fascinating eateries in Vancouver can be found here. The options are endless. Ducks and geese can be seen in abundance, as you will be able to see from my photos/videos. Planes fly overhead consistently; getting ready to land at Portland International Airport, so they will be flying both low and slow. There is also a train track across the street from the Renaissance Trail, so if you have young children, they will just love this! And the sunsets... The sunsets here are seriously a photographers dream! The sun setting over the river is a sight to behold! It's actually my favorite spot to watch the sun set. If that were not enough to peak your interests, on a clear day, you will get the most magnificent views of Mt. Hood! I consider this area a slice of heaven, so I highly recommend checking it out for yourself. It is not crowded, so if you are in need of some serenity, you will find it here. There are benches throughout the trail that allow you to soak in the scenery. There truly is something for all ages. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.
There is a fixer upper boat near the beach. A fun little walk area not too far from Downtown Vancouver. Seems safe and has a local McMenamins if you're looking to eat while out there. Don't forget your sunscreen.
Enjoy a beautiful walk along the Columbia River on this wide concrete path. You can see all sorts of water fowl including a huge Osprey nest, and occasionally you'll find a pack of seals baking and enjoying the water. While out you'll encounter runners, walkers, people walking dogs and people dining in restaurants overlooking the river. This trail is perfect for everyone, as it's mostly flat and completely paved.
The cathedral look of the bridge is beautiful. The foliage is beautiful and the grass is green. There was a lot of tents( homeless) set up along the shoreline but nobody bothered us.

This place is beautiful. There was only a few people in the area. I walked the North trail to the bridge. Nature fills all the senses.
Love this park but honestly on the weekend there is always so many people here. However if you keep walking the trail and you take little turns and go on a mini side quest, somehow you will end up at a bridge over a little river/stream. It is so so green and if you go a little behind the bridge, you can find a little train that leads down to the body of water. Definitely a longer walk and took an hour to get to the spot but it was so worth it.
Great lake for a fishing or paddle boarding outing - the size allows you to get fully lost in nature with little to no signs of city. It's been worth it for us to drive across the river to access this beauty. Facilities are good, restrooms and the like. It's a few dollars at the kiosk to park in the main lot.
Lovely park with water features—swimming area for early season (April, May and June until algae bloom), picnic area and trails. We do triathlon training here and hold organized runs. Dog friendly!!
The Vancouver Lake is a beautiful spot in the Port of Vancouver area. This lake is compromised of the Columbia River near the southwest shoreline and of Burnt Bridge Creek on the eastern shoreline. Each season definitely holds its own beauty, so if you get a chance, check it out all four seasons for sure. I highly recommend the summer and fall months. The weather is nice, and the trees are just gorgeous and popping with color! Frenchman's Bar hiking trails are also within the same area. You can go hiking and play volleyball on the beach before going for a dip in the lake. There are picnic tables, picnic shelters, BBQ grills, benches, and other seating throughout, restrooms, 2 sand volleyball areas, and plentiful parking. There are also large, well maintained grassy fields throughout. I saw a small play area for the little ones, too. 👍🏼
This place is very beautiful! Many paths to wander about. A lovely lake, and across it views of the mountains. $3 for a car day pass or $30 for a year of parks parking.... fyi. Today I stumbled upon a rowboat competition. That was quite fun to watch.
It is 3 dollars a car to enter. You cannot have dogs here unfortunately between April and October. It’s a good place to hang out on the beach or get out in the water. The water is a bit green and murky so I wouldn’t really swim a lot in it. If you are kayaking or SUPing, there are a few places where your paddle might snag some algae or it gets shallow towards the edge of the lake sooner than you would think. Great place to bring your binoculars to see some herons, egrets, and pelicans hunting for fish!
This park offers a serene escape just outside the city. The picturesque lake, surrounded by lush greenery, provides a perfect setting for a relaxing day outdoors. The park features well-maintained trails, ideal for a leisurely stroll or a bike ride. The expansive picnic areas make it a great spot for a family outing or a peaceful afternoon with friends. The park's natural beauty, combined with its amenities, creates a wonderful destination for those seeking a tranquil retreat near Vancouver. Highly recommended for nature enthusiasts and anyone looking to unwind in a scenic environment.

Slide 1 of 8
This was my first time walking across the Vancouver Land Bridge. I found it to be quite interesting, to say the least! The Vancouver Land Bridge connects the Columbia River Waterfront to the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. The native history along the bridge is not only beautiful, but it is also fascinating. It is part of the Confluence Project. I wish I had taken more photos/videos, but there is next time. I will be more prepared to do so, especially knowing what I do now. Do come check out this rich piece of art and history! The architecture and design of this bridge are just stunning, making it a must-see!
Great walk, lots of information on native trees and plants. You actually walk across I5. Worth visiting
Very Historical, unique, beautiful, interesting and inspiring Bridge. You can see freeway, train trails, small airplanes and a lot of cars. People love to walk and jog this Bridge. So many rest places. You can sit and rest. Even rainy day if you wear the rain jacket you can walk and jog. Sunshine day is perfect for me. I feel like meditation myself.
Where nature, history, and place are the medium, this art you can walk through will fill up your senses. The sounds of city life, highways and trains, juxtaposed with native plant life and gentle curves mixed with historic stories of a long-lost city before colonization, field and fort, and modern city industry provide much to reflect on. In short, take this walk.
This is a great place for a short walk and a chance to wander around a few historic places. The climb over the freeway is a slow and steady grade so it should be good for a variety of people.
Last winter we walked from the Fort side across, turned around just before the end. Plants were leafless, you could see quite a bit of the area. Late August, we walked from the river side up and over. It was very hot, little shade, and hard to see much. It's a lovely walk, but would prolly be more fun on a scooter or bike.
Connecting Historic Fort Vancouver to the Vancouver Waterfront Trail, this pedestrian only throughway appears to unite several distinct moments in time. Early post-colonial America on the one side, modern industry travelling under it, and budding Pacific Northwest commerce on the other side. The elevation is gradual and the walk is easy, with historical tidbits peppered along the way.
Peaceful approach through the prairie and nods to the land and history through interpretive panels. Wild to be next to the highway and train tracks but in a peaceful nature corridor.

This was an amazing venue and perfect for our wedding. I honestly don’t believe you can get more value for your money than what The Marshall House provided. All our guests were so impressed. Thank you for the memories, Historic Trust!
A wonderful place of history to visit. Volunteers are available some days to give visitors a tour. I highly recommend stopping by!
We held our wedding here and it was a great experience. As a venue it had so much character and was beautiful, while the process was great with the help of the staff - who had checklists and kept in touch at various milestones as the date grew closer! We were also happy to contribute to our city by supporting The Historic Trust.
I mean, it's not how I would have decorated. I don't think the colors go together AT ALL, and the size of the closets? Atrocious! But it will totally do for a fancy party, field trip or something like that!
A few houses down from the Grant House where the Willful Bistro Cafe restaurant is located is the Marshall House where Army General George C. Marshall resided and it's the only house on the district that was designed by an actual architect instead of normal Army standard designs. This house does tours Wednesday-Friday 10-2. They also conduct similar tours at the Providence Academy on the other side of the I-5 freeway from Fort Vancouver which used to be a church and school in the mid-1850's
Beautifully restored Queen Anne style home named after Gen. George Marshall. This house , managed by the Historic Trust , is a cornerstone house along beautiful Officer's Row which is adjacent to the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. The Marshall House is open to the public and there are guided tours. Entry into the Marshall House is free of charge and the tours are also free as well. Donations to the Historic Trust are accepted at the welcome desk in the Marshall House. Parking is available across the street. Handicap parking is available as well. Go and enjoy a short walk through a piece of local history. Recommended!!
This was a great venue for our small wedding. It was absolutely beautiful and the staff was wonderful at helping us get everything done and finalized for our wedding. I would absolutely and wholeheartedly recommend it!
I have walked by this building my entire life wondering when I would get to work on it. Finally the historic trust called for a chimney inspection. We took care of this beautiful work of art with craftsmanship and attention to detail. It's such a privilege to work of meaningful architecture.

If you are visiting Fort Vancouver, the whole site is worth visiting, including the visitor center and Pearson Air Museum. The air museum is quite small, but has some lovely planes and a great deal of information on historical escapades. I would definitely recommend walking (or driving) over here from Fort Vancouver. Walking over, you also get a good view of Pearson airfield.
My kids did the junior ranger program, and this museum was a perfect size: small. I thought it was informative and had some interesting planes. It also was free.
September 2025 - After walking the grounds of the fort, we finally made our way to the air museum, and found that it was worth the visit. It is not a large museum like the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum on OR-18, but it does have some unique and antique biplanes. Plan on 30 minutes. No fee to enter.
Nice family outing. Do note the museum is not open during the Veteran's Day open house - that is primarily to get resources all in one place. I do believe they rent out the hangar for events. The museum itself has free admission days to see all the old planes and learn about aviation history. Will have to come back for that.
I can't believe we have the same vancouver. It is an awesome, modern, free museum of early flight with several biplanes and a terrific film. I thought I would only watch the beginning of the film, imagining that it would begin to lose my interest as it approached modern times, but it was nothing like that, and I heartily recommend spending 45 plus minutes watching the whole thing. I also suggest reading the plaque on the monument to the Soviet polar flight and the signboards about the namesake of this field outside. I loved it here and I plan to return to spend more time studying the planes inside and watching planes take off and land outside.
My son had his prom here, and recently I went there for the veterans day activities. Came a bit late, but still enjoying the airport and had no idea the historical significance of the area. It was where the first flights to Russia took place for ww
Being an aviation enthusiast, I loved my visit here! It is truly cool to discover all the many aviation events that have occurred here over the years. The museum may be small, but it is packed with a wealth of historical information and interesting aircraft! It is located in the Pearson Air Field, so part of the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, which means after visiting the museum, you can walk outside and watch planes coming and going (and how I love to do this!), as well as visit all that Fort Vancouver has to offer...which is alot. I haven't been here in the summer months yet, but from what I can see from photos/videos taken by fellow Google reviewers, they open up the hangers so you can check out all the wonders of aviation that are within them. I'm excited to come back, and I was just here yesterday! It is free to visit this museum, which is awesome, considering the wealth of knowledge/early aviation planes on display, and the pristine condition it is in. Call me bias when it comes to anything aviation, because let's face it, I have the upmost respect for pilots. Early aviation in particular, is full of pilots that were truly brave, especially after seeing some of the aircraft they flew! I have nothing but respect for pilots period, past and present. When you see some of the performances put on during the airshows; if you are not in awe, you might want to check your pulse, lol. I highly recommend this museum! 👍🏼✈️🤙🏼
I was stationed at Fort Vancouver for 2.5 years as a Army Reserve's Supply Clerk and until today I never visited the Pearson Air Museum. It was very quiet, beautiful, clean, and the model planes and old military tents were really cool to checkout and learn about. So much history and such a stunningly beautiful area to visit!

Great place to grab brunch! For it's location the price is very affordable! Very well maintained house retrofitted as a breakfast venue. Very clean. Food was good. Staff was extremely polite. Could maybe use one more server. The one we had though was fantastic. Though it might be hard to find talent like that often.
I went here twice in the past month. The first time I ordered ordered artichoke dip and buffalo sliders and a drink. The drink was seasonal and amazing. The second time, which was today, I ordered the smash burger which has bacon, sweet pickles, aioli, butter lettuce and a tomato in it. The meat seemed to be skillet fried and seasoned with lots of pepper. It comes with two patty's and is super filling! The server was absolutely amazing. Our drinks were always full and there was always someone around in case we needed anything. Jeffery is an amazing front house manager. Thanks Scott for the amazing meal! ❤️❤️
Our first restaurant since March when all this madness began. having been to the Grant House in the past, it was an easy choice when the sun came out after disappearing for a few months. The staff here is top notch and they treat you so well upon the second you get there. The scenery of this establishment is quite relaxing and provides a wonderful outdoor experience during good weather. The actual cuisine is good and it will bring you back. So if you are looking for an out of the way place with a southern “sit on the porch of a palatial estate while sipping on a mint julep,” style, the Grant House and their wonderful staff will draw you in and have you coming back again soon.
Historic building, wonderful food, carefully prepared. Do make reservations for the best experience. Wait staff was informed, polite and considerate. If the weather is good you can sit on the veranda and enjoy the view. If you prefer an indoor setting, the interior of the building, place settings and furnishings are period appropriate.
Beautiful and quiet late day. Each plate and drink were spot on for spur of the moment porch dining. Two small happy hour plates would work well for a couple... it was only me so left 2 bites 🙂 Prices are comparable to other bistro atmospheres. Absolutely love the history and structure. Added attraction... the most beautiful lace cap hydrangea I've ever seen.
The new steak and fries were SO good! They currently are operating on a limited menu selection since they just reopened due to COVID but the outdoor setting and service were great! All the wait staff wore masks as well.
Biscuits!!!! So yummy! I've been back multiple times now including for my birthday. Try the Chicken Fried steak served on a biscuit with an egg and sausage gravy..... in a skillet on a wood board! Just try to have leftovers. The biscuits are real and made in house.....like biscuits should be. Also, the steak and eggs with potatoes. Yum! And it comes with a biscuit! Each time, I've gone for the weekend brunch. This is an historical house and they let you walk around, even upstairs. You can look for the ghost or see where an officer's wife defied the "no decorating the walls" rule by painting a medallion on the ceiling. So interesting to read about how the house was used. They even have lap blankets for you if you sit on the porch and it is a bit cold! Every time I've gone, everyone was gracious and generous! I'm looking forward to more drives to Vancouver to eat here!
Great cocktails and servers that know how to please your pallet based on how you are feeling that day. From wine to beer and signature cocktails the staff is very knowledgeable. I should note too, that the food is also very good.

I went early to the Farmers Market, got the chance to talk unhurriedly as they set up their stalls. Farm Maid soaps and candles were a great find. Candles are unique works of art, I tried a discount bar, the shower I had was fantastic, the scent of the oil being released by the hot water was amazing. They had a great sustainability option, Bring back the last candle jar, or several and they gave you a discount. The really nice thing is, this is nice soy wax, nontoxic so you just wash the mug or cup, And you have a nice hot chocolate cup . Truly worth the visit.
Large variety of farms and handmade booths along with food popups, fresh florals, and more! Very family friendly with live music and so many great local owned small businesses and artisans! Beautiful location in the park with lots of shaded trees.
Good place to go for variety of reasons. See new vendors their products.Taste a new (to you) product or food with a different flavor.like getting fresh fruit or dish, buy baked goods. You may find a table to sit in the back by playground and enjoy a fresh meal.We tasted a new product.
Had such a pleasant experience at the Vancouver Farmers Market. Friendly vendors, live music, stunning craftsmanship, food options for all moods, space to walk in between booths, and reasonable prices. Plant lovers beware- this market has a few botanical booths that are hard to walk away from empty handed. Also saw some of the most beautiful flower bouquets I’ve ever seen. The market parking lot fills up quickly but there is Parking Kitty street parking available and a paid parking garage nearby. Bring your dogs, bring your kids, bring your appetite, and bring your wallet! This market was delightful and we hope to visit again someday.
Was a beautiful Fall Day for going to our local Farmer's Market! I didn't realize how many wonderful artisans they have there. I was especially excited to see @2_hermanos_bakery with their amazing bread and @la_signora_wa there with her Arancini, lasagne, and cannolis! It was also nice to sample from so many including @melbasveganbakery @culturedkindness @eatnotbread @primobeefco I highly recommend going to the @vancouverfarmersmarket They are open year-round and have a large parking lot with a suggested donation to park. There's so many vendors including flowers, produce, meat/seafood, honey, crafty stuff, jewelry, breads, specialty diet foods, and delicious hot food options!
A lot of the prices were very high for produce. It also seems like a lot of the businesses are run by people that English is not their first language. One lady asked me to wait until her daughter came back to help her ring up my items. The workers that we spoke to were very helpful. There are a few hot food booths there. Overall it wasn't a bad farmer's market at all. A lot of the food looks good. A lot of cute homemade items and giftable things. Pretty low key Farmers market. I'm giving it four stars simply for the price of some of the produce. To me the whole idea is to get things that are healthy at a lesser price and it certainly wasn't less. It seems like a lot of it was brought down from the gorge and not locally grown in Clark County area.
Such an amazing market with a ton of unique vendors from a giant plant booth, to food, to hand-made crafts, if you’re in Vancouver definitely stop by here!
Highly recommend! Lots of produce, teas, spices, coffee, flowers, crafts, food trucks, and hot food stands. There is a parking lot by the main entrance.

Had a great time walking around the pond and exploring. Highly recommend. Has fields, easy hikes, playground, restrooms, picnic tables.
I couldn't find the trail at first, and I was surprised you have to pay to park here. Next time, I'll park further away to avoid the fee. The "trail" is more like a bike trail, similar to the springwater corridor in Portland. The park itself is quite nice and well maintained. It was crowded when I went, on a sunday evening.
We love coming here to ride bikes. My children attended a birthday party. There are great trees for hanging pinatas and the covered areas were perfect for the party. They can be reserved, or fcfs basis. In the summer we like to play in the small water park. Some people swim here, I wont let my children as the water quality is questionable.
I've been coming here since the late 80's before they added trails and a sports park, and before it was nearly destroyed by floods in 1996. It's changed a lot. It's a good place to walk the trails, or walk your dog, or take a bike ride. Come in the evening if you really want to get some peace and quiet. You can get some amazing sunsets here, and you can see lots of birds like red wing blackbirds, killdeer, mourning doves, rabbits, and ducks. The trails are really nice. There's more walking and trails than you think for a smallish place. There's a very nice park for picnics as well. The pond is good for mostly fishing during Spring and Summer when they stock it. You can swim here, but the water can be gross at times from the birds and fish. They also have the Spring Fishing Derby here in April which is amazing for kids. Yes, they charge you for parking here in the peak months. Overall a nice place to come kick back, swim, fish, picnic, bike, walk your dog, or watch some ball games in the Spring.
I'm sure it's a great place but sadly I couldn't go in because I had my dog with me. Do not believe the comments, dogs are not allowed here. People seem to ignore that though.
Low key practice disc golf baskets are my favorite thing, but theres a splash pad and playing ground i haven't even checked out. The creek is pretty neat for chucking pepples or casting a reel into.
The trail is well maintained and busy. The river and pond are pretty. There are activity fields for a variety of sports. There is an eagle family by the river that are neat to watch. There are restrooms, plenty of parking, and most of the park is accessible. My only issue is lack of shade on the trail, but otherwise, it's a beautiful walk.
It’s beautiful and peaceful. There’s walking trails, fishing, and swimming. The park fee is $3. There’s also free life jackets to borrow.

Park in a former trading post & fort with self-guided tours & 19th-century blacksmith demos.

Lovely national historical site right across the river from Portland and off the Columbia River. There’s a self guided tour where you can walk in the old buildings of the fort. Next door is an air museum and there is a house where Ulysses Grant lived.
We have been to many forts like this mainly in the Midwest, and Fort Vancouver was very nice and showcased some of the history of the area. The gardens out front were lovely as well. It does have an admission cost but you can use your America the Beautiful pass to get in for free. They also have a Junior ranger program separate from the air museum.
Although the fort itself is recreated, Fort Vancouver is a site that's rooted in history and well worth visiting! The main visitors centre has a video introduction and a small display on the history of the site as well as NPS stamps, maps and a gift shop (there's a great selection of second-hand books here!). The fort is also on the site of a historic airfield which has a free museum too so I'd really recommend popping in there too! You can walk or drive down to the fort- it is a chargeable site and you can buy a pass online or in person. Inside, there's a variety of buildings from the main house to the kitchen and hospital. Most of the buildings had a re-enactor inside explaining about everything from the fur trade to life as a Hudson Bay company clerk- they were all very friendly and answered any questions. There have been a lot of archaeological digs on the site so what's there is based on what has been found. Most of the buildings are open and it was fascinating to find great little facts in each one!
Awesome place to visit! It wasn't too busy and the day we went they had a gun demo. The demo in the kitchen was fantastic and it smelled amazing. The setups of the old stores, blacksmith, and homes were very well done.
I really enjoy this place it's beautiful and there is a nice bike trail.
Went here with my troop on our way to Camp Baldwin. Pretty cool buildings, nice tour guide and interesting historical significance. I enjoyed learning about the fur trade and trapping, as well as identifying the many animal furs. Also bought a nice hat for summer camp which I got compliments on!
This was such an interesting NHS to visit. There is a small admission fee but the overall outdoor and indoor grounds are fascinating. It’s intersting to see the blacksmith at work and talking about some of the pieces used and created. Well worth a visit if you enjoy history and have NP passport.
If you are visiting Fort Vancouver, the whole site is worth visiting, including the visitor center and Pearson Air Museum. Fort Vancouver reconstruction is itself an amazing place to visit and gives are real sense of what it was like to live in the past. I would definitely recommend a visit here and its only 5 minutes off the I-5 so easy to visit if you are passing by.

Front desk rep was very welcoming and helpful, plenty of stuff for the kids to see and do. My daughter really enjoyed the educational scavenger hunt. Well worth the stop.
my son's daycare was closed so I wanted to get him out of the house. I called up another Mom friend to see if she wanted to visit the center with me. we met at The water resource center at 9:30 thinking it opened at 9 per The website. they don't open till 10. staff let us in early because it was Cold and windy. I remember coming to this place as a kid and it being huge. as an adult I feel like it's smaller than I remember. either way it's a great Free place in Vancouver for kids to have fun and learn about water. it's like a mini Free omsi.
My family loves the water resource center. We've been coming here since my oldest (11) was a year. My children ranging from 2-11 all find something to enjoy there. I really love it because we can spend a couple hours there without it ever being super crowded, most days when we go we are the only people there. The staff at the front are always friendly and welcoming. The one thing I do miss is the infant/toddler play structure and play space they used to have years ago. It used to be my most favorite place to take my oldest when he was little.
What an awesome place to spend an extra hour with kids!
My 3 year and I visited on a Wednesday morning, and we were the only ones there for a couple of hours! Lots of fun interactive exhibits that are more geared toward older kids (maybe elementary/middle school age?), but my daughter was still entertained, and we had some good conversations about how we can take care of the earth. There were a few exhibits that weren’t in working order, but otherwise the facility was very nice!
Great resource for my 4 kids and my parents to go to. Lots of interactive activities and the people there were really friendly! Beautiful views right outside also!
The OMSI exhibit was excellent. Loved the bird viewing and feeding station. Picnic area at rear, fountain out front. Park nearby. Lots of parking. Loved the toads. Younger kids might be easily bored, but older ones should like, especially if their adults act interested. Was hard to know what was on loan and what belonged, but we will return.
An excellent resource. The native music/dance was educationally/emotionally moving. To see multiple tribes/native veteran's honored was an experience to remember. The skill and craftsmanship of the items for rememberence was abundent. I await the next cellabration.

Vancouver Mall is a great place to go. There are tons of stores and things to do and see. The people there are really friendly. The mall is huge and has all sorts of shops, so it's a great place to chill and grab food and drinks. You should totally check it out. It's super fun.
This mall is very busy and has a lot of shopping and dinning options. It should be easy to find whatever you need in this mall, with all the numerous choices.
WOW,this mall is so big and has so many options. While some stores have closed, the mall has created the coolest photo ops at some of the doorways of these closed businesses where you can take a family " selfie" photo for Free! Seems like Nothing is free anymore so this is super fun & helpful to create a family holiday photo memory . Also as you walk up the path to see Santa they have additional photo ops from Elf to A Mock up Macy's Christmas window display, all of which are Free ! You can create some amazing holiday photos at Vancouver Mall 🤶🏼
I had a great experience at the Vancouver Mall recently. The mall is clean and spacious, with a variety of stores to choose from. I was able to find some great deals on new clothes, shoes, and accessories. The food court has a great selection of food and drinks, and I was able to find something for everyone. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would definitely recommend this mall to anyone looking for a great shopping experience.
The mall is bigger than I expected and family friendly. They provide family lounge where you can nurse a baby or take your little one to the little potty. There is a play area inside for kids to play. I was impressed to see they have a little library in the mall! It seems like they even have story times
Im from Bellingham and compared to our local mall, the Vancouver Mall was soo big!! It looked small on the outside and I honestly did not expect it to be 2 stories. Tons of stores, my kids loved it and loved the escalators even more 😂 The arcade in Round1 was like nothing ive ever seen before, it was soo HUGE!! My kids did not want to leave. Cant wait to come back!!
I stop by often to get my steps in and check out my favorite places. Maurices, Castro's, lunch box, and Macy's as well as the other places I find amazing things at. There are many food options as well as a theater and bowling alley. The safety of the mall has been a concern for others as well as the mall owners. Without a doubt, I struggle to feel safe at times myself. It is why I make the effort to talk with store personnel each time I am there. I worked thirty years in the grocery industry. I have a kindred connection to retail and customer service industry places.
DISCRIMINATION!!!!!!!!!! We brought our small 8-pound puppy to Vancouver Mall for Halloween and saw many other dogs there with their owners. Everything was fine until we went into Round One. we didn’t realize dogs weren’t allowed, so as soon as security approached us, I immediately left and waited outside of Round One while my family finished up. While sitting quietly with my puppy, he saw a large dog pass by and barked once — just a single bark. I calmed him immediately and held him close. A few minutes later, as we were about to leave, a mall security guard came up and said, “We don’t allow dogs in Vancouver Mall, and if your dog barks again you’ll have to leave immediately.” I was shocked and upset. We weren’t causing any disturbance — we were literally sitting, waiting, and minding our own business. I’ve seen plenty of other dogs at this mall that clearly weren’t service animals. There’s even a pet store inside the mall, which makes the whole situation feel inconsistent and unfair. This was my puppy’s first mall visit, and instead of being a fun family outing, it turned into an uncomfortable, humiliating experience. I felt discriminated against and extremely disappointed by the inconsistency in their pet policy and the attitude of security. Vancouver Mall really needs to either enforce their rules consistently for everyone or reconsider their approach toward responsible pet owners.

Beautiful, quiet and pleasant library. If you have a work to do or an interview 4th and 5th floors are good fit. They also have a nice terrace and clean restrooms. People are quite and cultured
It’s a really big multi floor library with books as far as the eye can see! The staff was also really nice and helpful. The two cons is the parking is very limited and fills quickly and secondly is the homeless outside the building. Never seen so much security at a library before.
Very big spacious library. Many selections, a kids section, a deck as well where you can read outside. Two big office spaces you can reserve and many plugins. Decent selection of books. The reason for 3 stars is the noise levels with no real way to escape it. But most of all the corrupt authority from the security. They use their power in any way they deem fit regardless of laws or the truth. After complying with "orders" I was banned for a week with the following reason: "refusing to comply with staff" after being told verbally I did. The only way to keep people safe is to remove corrupt authority. With tyrants in charge no one is safe from false judgment or persecution. I hope the library can do the right thing and keep it's people protected by removing the corrupt authority they have allowed to plague their library. Down with tyrants.
Trying to find a parking space in the free 2 hour parking lot, at certain times of the day, can be tricky. They have a drop off slot at the back of the building, by the parking lot, and also at the front, on C Street. I enjoy coming here to find books in Spanish and English and to use the computers and printers. It's also a great place to just hang out and relax, with lots of quiet spaces upstairs in the 4th and 5th floors. I really like the story times for children. The play area is like a small children's museum. The childrens' librarians are really friendly and helpful. One really great feature of this library, that I didn't discover at first, is the terrace. It's a great place to hang out and read a book or eat a snack, outside, in the fresh air. Also, if you like plants like I do, be sure to visit the plant wall. Lately I have noticed that they have board games on display that you can check out. Don't forget to visit the library 🐠 fish 🐟.
They awesome librarians there helped with some complicated computer issues I was having. They were great! As always they were helpful, non judgemental and just down right nice! This branch always has the latest books out on the "Lucky You" shelf. Whatever I need, they got me.
I've attended many informative presentations here. They host "penguin talks" where someone from Clark college comes and speaks on a topic. They typically only hold them during lunch hours (because it's supposed to be a "lunch and learn" kind of thing I think), though; it would be really cool to also have them either in the evening or on a weekend so people who work during the day can attend :)
This is a fantastic library!! Full of knowledge! The staff are so helpful. There are security due to folks hanging out just because. Overall pretty clean and safe. Parking lot can get full especially during event times. There is a super cool kid's discovery area and they have a seed library there as well.
They have something for everyone. Large selection of books, free use computers, teen area with video games, and childrens play area. Probably the best place to take a kid under 3 for free.

Large Columbia River park has trails, 8 sand volleyball courts, 2 picnic shelters & 2 playgrounds.
Slide 1 of 8
Such a great spot to set up your own grill & chill! $3 entry fee, usually packed on the weekends but plenty of parking during weekdays. Great long winding paved path along the river line for strolling, roller skating, jogging, cycling, etc. A favorite for families and dog parents!
I rather enjoyed my experience at this park/nature trail. There is something for everyone here. The staff are friendly and helpful. The paths are spacious, in good repair, and kept free of debris by competent park personnel. There are climbing structures, picnic tables, event areas, a beach volleyball/badminton/net sports area, scenic viewpoint, and nature galore along the mighty Columbia River. The trails are accessible and accommodating. As the pathways are primarily in open areas, there is not a lot of shade, so be sure to put on extra sunscreen, maybe wear a hat, and stay hydrated
The park is lively and the volleyball courts in particular are great, but there's a retaining wall with no stairs between the parking lot and the courts. I had to watch my daughter play in a tournament from the grass and she was on a court closet to the river so it was less than ideal. They really need to add stairs or a ramp. No wheelchairs or walker users or those who are mobility challenged are able to get on the courts.
This place is amazing! Small fee to get in but plenty of beach to share. Great place to swim and enjoy watching the ships pass. Only downfall is the bathrooms are limited and quite the walk if you can't park close to them.
Love this park. Always clean & a great vibe.
Wonderfully close to the Vancouver downtown area. Long stretch of a beach, with sand. Sand is a little rocky and not as smooth/fine as other sand beaches. Some pieces of broken glass were found, there is a no glass rule. So, please abide by this rule and keep everyones feet safe from cuts. A small parking fee to enter ($2/motorcycle, $3/car, $6/ car with trailer). They do have an option for purchasing an annual pass. Play ground, beach volley ball courts, and covered picnic areas are available. Wonderful place to watch the sunset go down, since it faces West. Which is what we did!
This park is on the Columbia River and is a great one. There are bathroom facilities with outdoor showers and a playground for kids. There is also a running trail that is paved and beach on the Columbia. There are also over six sand volleyball courts. If you have a family with younger children it’s best to come in the earlier hours of the day because in the afternoon the teenagers and older crowd start showing up and don’t use the best of language. Also if you’re coming out here to enjoy the sunshine and warmer water it’s best if you come mid June to first of September. For the most part it is pretty clean and the current isn’t too strong. Please note that about 12 feet from the shore there is a nice drop where the water gets deeper.
Clean, pretty, not too crowded. Perfect temps in the water for swimming, but currents, boat traffic, and random depths with steep drop off make this not a site for poor swimmers. Definitely need lifejackets and a strong swimmer to help if you have kids.
