We started down in Deadwood went up the many steps to get to this cemetery. I will be honest with you next time I will drive to the top. Once we got to the cemetery, we still had to continue going upward to see all the graves. From Wild Bill to Calamity Jane worth seeing. One of the most disturbing things is noticing how many young children died either birth or a few days afterwards or even a month or two. Please don’t be one of those people to put the rocks on top of the grave because it damages the headstones.

We thought the Mount Moriah Cemetery is one of the most beautiful we have seen. The cemetery is loaded with notable people from the Deadwood area. Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane and Seth Bullock are just a few. Near the top there is a great overview of the town.

You can feel the legends come to life here. If you love history, scenic views, or unique stops that feel deeply rooted in the past, Mount Moriah is absolutely worth the visit. It’s a place where time slows down for a moment and the Old West feels just a little closer. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Highly recommend for history lovers, families exploring the Black Hills, or anyone looking for a quiet, meaningful stop in Deadwood.

Loved it. The walk up to Seth Bullock and wife's grave is pretty intense, it's up hill and required some rest stops. Saw deer romping around.

During our recent visit to Deadwood, South Dakota, we visited the Mount Moriah Cemetery where Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane are buried. We parked our car in the parking lot, paid our $3, then walked (uphill) about 200 yards on a paved road. At one point, we had to move off the road into the grass because a tour bus was leaving the cemetery. The graves of Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane are marked with signs so they can be easily found. This cemetery is located on a fairly steep hill, so it doesn't lend itself to wandering around for very long.

Mount Moriah Cemetary is a worthy stop while visiting Deadwood. Western and history fans will find a number of intetesting graves, including Wild Bill and Calamity Jane. However, there are other interesting sites, including a children's section and a Chinese burner. There is a small $2 fee to get in, but it is worth the small fee as the cemetary is maintained in very good condition. You also get a map with suggestions for a self guided walking tour. Parking can be difficult to find, although you can usually find a spot in the small osrking area or on one of the residential streets. We don't suggest trying to bring you RV or trailer as the cemetary is at the top of a hill in a residential area.

Very well kept with interesting historical information about the famous “residents” and the communities with special sections in the cemetery (Jewish, Chinese). Nice hikes from the cemetery to the summit too.

This was an amazing experience. Such a great blend of history, adult party/gambling atmosphere, while also being a clean friendly place id be happy to take my young kids. The shootouts and storytelling by the deadwood alive crews were amazing. I love how they get the kids involved. I cant wait to come back!

We visited downtown for the afternoon. We walked around and enjoyed all the stores they had to offer. Plenty of gifts and souvenirs to go around. We ate lunch and just enjoyed the scenery. Its a small town filled with great history. On our way out the next morning, we drove by 6 am when Noone was on the streets, it was pretty cool to see it filled with people one day and rhe next early morning empty. we parked in the public parking lot by visitor center and walked downtown.

We really enjoyed Historic Downtown Deadwood. The atmosphere is great with a really old west feel. People who operate the business are really friendly and there is a ton of things to see and do. We spent two days and really did not have time to see a lot of things.

Lots of cool wild West History involving Wild Bill and Calamity Jane. It's a little sad to see so many of the hotels full of slots, but there is rich history and cool little shops to enjoy. We were there during their Deadweird event, and while we aren't the partying kind it was fun to see everyone dressed up in costumes and enjoying themselves. We stayed at the historic Bullock Hotel which exceeded our wildest expectations.

I loved the history and the general vibe of the town. Lots of people and places to see. If you like casinos they are everywhere.

Good place especially at night during the days of autumn. It’s just fun to explore all the bars and stores walking around it wasn’t crowded and stayed in an historic hotel. Didn’t gamble just explored the town and surrounding areas.

We drove through a couple of times. Awesome place. We parked the Jeep and walked around then had supper. Great food and atmosphere. Just not enough time, so we will be back next year. ( we are not gamblers.....)

If you're in deadwood, definitely give this place a look! It's pay by donation, and it's suggested $5 per person. It has three levels of historical items, facts and exhibits. It doesn't take too long to walk through the whole place- but there's definitely a lot to see! They even have an area downstairs for kids which is nice. The two ladies working at the front were super nice and knowledgeable.

Stopped by the Adams Museum in Deadwood — mighty fine stop if you’re lookin’ to chew on some real Wild West history. Lots of good yarns from them rough ‘n tumble days. Learned a heap, tipped my hat, and felt right at home among the ghosts of them old trailblazers.

Jen was phenomenal! Knowledgeable about the wildlife (particularly birds) and geology of the area. The historical displays range from the foundation of the town through the 20th century.

This museum was a great way to learn the history of the town and the expansion and correction that occurred over the years due to the gold rush. There's a recommended $3 donation for adults to enter, but the museum is worth more than that. It's a self-guided tour with lots of information and cool historical objects on display. You could easily spend an hour and a half in here leaning into the history and the culture of the area. It's within walking distance of historic Deadwood Main Street. There is a small gift shop that offers mostly souvenirs for kids with a few options that cater to adults.

This place has quite a bit of displays to it. There are 3 floors - the upstairs, main floor, and basement. The basement has a lot of interactive exhibits, especially fun for kids. From upstairs, you can overlook the main floor. There is also a small gift shop.

Really enjoyed this museum. Very good exhibits on the area and the historic time. 3 floors! Well worth visiting. No admission but $5 donation suggested.

Very cool museum. The tour guides provide lots of information, but they do have strict rules no touching anything, no standing on the antique rugs, no standing on the tile by the fireplace, no using flash, and no sitting on the furniture. They are very strict about these rules and will not hesitate to yell at you. You must stay with your tour group and keep moving. Other than that our guide shared lots of information, answered every question, and was very detailed. The house was incredible. I highly recommend the Adams House—just follow the rules, as you should always do anyway.

The Adam's house is a wonderful place to visit when you are in Deadwood. I believe the tour was 45 minutes to an hour.

If you’re in the area this would be an excellent tour! Our narrator was very smart and knew an astonishing amount of information about the area. He recommended quite a few places to see while the tour was going on as well. He stopped at the cemetery and allowed everyone he to exit the bus to take photos, this was a very nice gesture. I highly recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing Exhibit. Amazing story of how this place came about thanks to Mr. Kevin Costner. Amazing actor and person. The Sculptures are a true work of art not only they themselves but how they are positioned

It was a great location, and the sculptures were amazing to look at. The artifacts on exhibit in the visitor center, and the video explaining the origin of the Tatanka experience dwas interesting. But probably the most interesting part, that we didn’t know, is that this whole display is the result of Kevin Costner‘s experience in the area while he was filming the movie “Dances with Wolves”. He was so personally moved by the story of the native Americans and the bison that he felt the need to express it. In general, I think it’s a bit overpriced, but worth a stop.

Very informative and full of history! The sculpture was incredible—so detailed and beautifully crafted. Even though the day was cloudy, it made for the most amazing photo! Thank you Kevin for bringing attention to our history!

As our group of three walked in, there was no one at the desk to tell us about admission. By the time the hostess arrived, she was rather rude. Which would explain the empty parking lot. Sadly, I will not be back or recommend to visit. Was not the friendly greeting that you would expect in South Dakota.

Clean, informative, beautiful inside and outside on the grounds. Staff was able to answer all of my questions.

The sculpture is beautiful, very well done. The only bad thing about the sculpture is that it is placed facing north, which means the sun is always in your eyes while you view it and the sun makes deep shadows on the sculpture making it difficult to photograph and view. If possible go on a cloudy but bright day for optimal viewing. This small museum is owned and run by Kevin Costner as a tribute to the Lakota people but it’s actually a combination of a tribute to his movie, Dances with Wolves with a few Native American artifacts and photos. There is a 15 minute movie, skip it. The theater is more of an 8 person closet and it is of Kevin’s dedication speech which is hard to hear and which you can read in the museum if you want. If you loved his movie it’s cool to see the original costumes worn by the main characters of the movie that are on display. Also the land around the museum has been sold off to developers and you’ll soon see large expensive homes in the back yard in the currently peaceful hills where the museum sits, what a shame. If you go realize that it’s a bit confusing where the building is as Kevin sold the land at the entrance, and now a jail and courthouse reside where you pull in. No signs indicate that if you drive further up and around a steep hill, you’ll come to the museum.

The tour was quite the eye opener. Back in those days conditions were brutal for miners. The tour guide was thorough with descriptions and answered everyone’s questions clearly and included some funny humor. Visitors are permitted to take any loose stones from the ground in the tunnel home with them. You can also take photos and video of the tour. My video length was just over 30 minutes long. Helmets are provided. I would recommend you take the tour when you visit Deadwood. Children enjoy it too!

This was awesomeee! We were toured by abby (super cool btw). She made awesome jokes and gave super detailed facts and overall made the whole experience really interesting. The blackout moment was awesome sauce and the huge gaps were so pretty. I loved looking at the different rocks. We went gold panning afterwards and i got some gold! Super fun!

Enjoyed our tour, the young blonde girl (apologies i cant remember the name) was very good at explaining what happened all these years ago. Amazing the conditions the mined in and how much volume they actually took out of the mine. Also lovely and cool on a hot day. Can get here on the deadwood trolley but the trolley is hopeless and a waste of money. See my other review

My favorite part of this was panning for gold. It was nice walking through the mine, and our tour guide Shay did a very nice job telling us the history. The temperature down there is between 50° to 60°. So maybe a sweatshirt or long-sleeve

Had a great experience walking through the gold mine with Phoenix as our guide. He was very informative and had great knowledge of the mine. We arrived at 8am just as they were opening and got a private tour. Highly recommend this tour and hope you’re lucky enough to have Phoenix as your guide.

Perfect ⭐☆☆☆☆ — Like a Casino Designed by Sadness Itself Cadillac Jack’s is hands-down one of the ugliest casinos I’ve ever stepped into. Imagine a sad roadside motel and a truck stop had a baby — and then that baby gave up on its dreams. Dingy lighting, ancient carpets, and a layout so awkward it feels like it was put together by someone actively trying to confuse you. The décor? Think "2003 basement remodel" with a budget of about $14. Everything looks tired, worn down, and somehow sticky — even when it's technically clean. And the crowd? Just a parade of grumpy zombies pulling slot machine levers like they’re trying to forget how they ended up there. The whole vibe is low-energy and borderline dystopian. If you’re looking for excitement, style, or literally any sense of joy — look elsewhere

BE AWARE especially elderly. Don't sit down at this Casino as you are at risk of being hurt and nothing will be done. Faulty chairs the welds are broken in the food court. Be aware. They will treat you like crap for their negligence. No campassion. Avoid this Casino/Hotel at all costs it's not worth what it will cause you. I wouldn't even give it a 1 star. Property ran down and unsafe. General Manager is VERY rude. Not even a sorry for thier lack of safety.

Plenty of parking. I was surprised once inside at the length of the casino. Very sparse for players at noon time. Casino and restrooms were kept very clean. The woman at the players desk could have been just a little better at her customer service but I kept the visit short enough to get my new card and playing comp then moved on. Food area was OK but limited in selections. Counter service was excellent however.

My husband gambles daily and did hit a little $2800 jackpot a couple of weeks ago. Today he was approached for the floor supervisor and told he can no longer gamble there. When he asked why they didnt have to give a reason! If you can't win a small jackpot there why even bother giving them any business at all! Sad since we live in the town!

Made a reservation that was able to be cancelled 3 days in advance online. Went online 4 days prior and was told it was cancelled. Day after the reservation I got a receipt but it was an old card that I had cancelled so didn't think anything of it. 3 days later, visa provided the new debit card number to the property without my permission. I stayed at another hotel so reached out to them and my bank. 2 weeks later, a RUDE woman called. She didn't identify herself or her position. Explained it wasnt her problem and when I said well I wouldn't make 2 reservations for myself she said well we have to consistent. I asked if she could something in the name of customer service (I worked at hotels and in customer service since I was 14) she said no bc they lost that revenue for that night. Look. I know how perishability works because I have a bachelor's in tourism and an MBA, teach college and am working on my PhD. I'm not stupid and won't appreciate being talked to rudely and talked down to. Your customer service is horrid. $400 a night in August after rally on a Thursday? I didn't pay that on a Saturday at the MGM in Vegas this summer. Who do you think you are? My bank will handle this but you need to train your people on service because this isn't it.

This is a real nice casino with plenty of card tables. Craps and roulette are hopping. It is located a little way from downtown, but the trolley comes by. They might rent bicycles too, as I saw some in the parking garage.

Very cool place, I’ve always been fascinated by the Wild West and how things like stage coaches and carriages looked like. This place is amazing in the fact that it has all of this including the evolution of bull riding and guns. This was one of the coolest museums I have ever been too I know you will like it. This is a trip I highly recommend making!

Interesting, I had understood ( obviously incorrectly) from the visitor centre that it was a museum dedicated to the history of Deadwood. It’s actually dedicated to the parade/celebrations commemorating its past. Lots of interesting displays . Lots of carriages but maybe too many for the space they have as they were literally lined up.

Really great place to see old West history up close. The wagon and gun displays a4 exceptional.

We ate at the breakfast buffet and it was great! Delicious waffles, crepes, caramel rolls, bacon, sausage, & a carving station with ham & prime rib! The frittata & scrambled eggs were okay but I'm not sure if they use fresh eggs, tasted kinda like instant/dehydrated eggs. The service was spectacular! We had been to several restaurants in Deadwood & the best service that we received was from this buffet! Best food & service for the money!

This hotel is a piece of History. It is renovated but still has the 1800's feel to it. The rooms are amazing, clean and comfortable beds. Front desk lady was really nice and helpful. The only con I saw was the parking, had to park in a lot behind the hotel, not an easy walk for an elderly or disabled person. I am yet to try their drinks and food . I hope I get to meet some ghosts at night. ☠️👻☠️

Stopped in here to eat based on a recommendation by a local. Didn't stay in the hotel or gamble though. Restaurant is located is the lower level and is buffet style. Decent selection with generous portions (especially the prime rib) and a good dessert bar. Pricing was only about $27 so an affordable option at that price. Table service was very good. It was an off-time when there so only a couple of tables besides mine (small family, couple) were busy during my visit. Parking could be tricky when the downtown area i crowded but I found a spot about a block away. Going to have to stop in again if I come back to Deadwood.

We did not stay at the Hotel, but we Went ate at the hotel buffet. Long line before the buffet open. Lots of people. Idk why people are hyping on the buffet but it’s not much on it. Yes they do have crab legs and prime rib but I wish they have more other variety of food. Yes I do eat crab but I wish they have more better selection. Prime rib was really great.

The poker room here at the Silverado Franklin is amazing! The staff including Angie, Rick, Halie, Alan and Alan plus the rest of the crew do a great job and are very professional! Cash games and tournaments here have the best structures and many promotions for poker players of all skill levels. Its a super comfortable environment for everyone, Blessings. Frazer

Came here because the B/F wanted the buffet. I don't eat sea food or prime rib so I got the salad and soup. For something so basic, it was disgusting. The Italian dressing was all sugar. The soups were a choice between a sea food soup (which I don't eat) or ham & bean soup. That soup was all beans and broth. Not worth it. It was also super humid down in the restaurant and smelled of fish

We came to enjoy the area before the summer rush of tourists, and we enjoyed everything here in Deadwood SD. Silverado is a nice place with good machines for some slot playing. They pay off good on wins, and small wins happen often. Table games are fun, and they help if you aren't so good with the games. Blackjack tables are nice, and the drinks keep.coming if you're playing any of the games they have. The overall environment is outstanding. Enjoy your time and make this a top list place to visit when in the area. Txtiger68

This was a fun short hike. Pretty easy. I have really bad ankles after several ankle injuries in my youth. This was pretty easy for me and I didn't struggle at all. It took us maybe 30-45 minutes to make it to the tower and about 20-30 minutes to make it back to the car. The tower was cool to see and had the most amazing lookout. We were there as a storm was rolling in and it was so cool to watch it and watch the lightening all around us. Would highly recommend this trail if your in the area

As a Teddy fan myself I was excited to check this place out. I would recommend good footwear because most of the path is rocky and uneven at times. It is dog friendly and lucky us we had the place to ourselves. Parking is free and there is one bathroom on site. There are also at least three different designated picnic areas. Overall it's a cool little spot honoring the great Theodore Roosevelt with beautiful views from beginning to end.

Other than the semingly 500 miles through the prairie, this was an enjoyable hiking spot. We got to cross a river (over a rock bridge with maybe 1" of water), scurry up the side of a mountain, get barked at my prairie dogs, see wild horses, bison was wayyy to close (100ish yards - still close when standing in a field without a tree in sight), and a snake. Pay attention to the signs and take a photo at the trailhead of the layout. Google maps worked out there and I was able to catch we'd gotten on the wrong trail.

I really hate to rate this place... it is a well-kept secret. I have known about this place since the 70s when most of the locals didn't even know about its existence. In those days, it was a rugged trail with no entrance to the tower. Now, the trail is easy, and the tower is open to the public. If you go, please go peacefully, leave no trace, and enjoy a wonderful experience with impressive history and beautiful views. If you don't go, well, that's fine by me.

From the parking lot. It is up hill the whole way. It's not really steap, just a constant uphill grade. Be really careful climbing up the tower. The circular steps are steep. The views are good, but not great. They need to cut some trees.

Nice little scenic walk that anyone can do. You can see Spearfish and Belle Fourche from the west side and you also get a super cool view of Bear Butte off to the East

Short drive from Deadwood. Nice short hike to the tower with beautiful views along the way. Interesting structure with steep spiral 21 step staircase. Great views from the top.

Definitely not the chambers fault but frustrated by the lack of dinner options on a monday at 8:00. Every high end dinner place was filled and serving stopped at 9:00. Wait lists exceeded the 9:00. One Restaurant had to close early to prep for the next day. Some were only open on the weekends. Not once did I hear it was a staffing issue.. but perhaps. But we were excited for a night on the town. Mustang Sally’s were the only place in town, many people frustrated by the options. Mustangs tried their best but just not satisfying to everyone. Will think again before planning a night on the town.

Got ripped off the first place we bought something. Not the deals they offered, got charged for different items we didn't get. Walked out pissed then did not spend another penny in this town. Too bad. This was the place that I most looking forward to on my four-day trip in the black hills.

Spent a week at the deadwood nites. Participated in the poker runs and was at the announcement for the winners. The place was packed and noisy and there was confusion from the staff about when and where the announcements would be made. We heard our name called but couldn’t get to where the prizes were within 2 seconds and our prize was given to someone else. After spending 5 hours participating and spending money to participate to find out we won only to not win because of miscommunication, noise, and a poorly thought out process was very disappointing. To all out there this event isn’t worth the money you end up spending.

Trolleys passed us twice, no place to camp except parking lot of Days of 76, and by the time we found a place to camp the restaurans were full or stopped serving at 8pm. Highly recommended to not bother stopping in this town. Better places nearby. Definitely not tourist friendly. Do not go here.

I called the Chamber of Commerce to ask questions about Kool Deadwood Nights. The lady who helped me was very nice and professional. She was not only helpful but told me they were happy that we were attending this fabulous activity! We would not miss it. We love Deadwood!

Called this morning. Traveling to Deadwood tomorrow for Car show. Looking for a Black Hills picture in shops. Lady said she hadn't been in any of the shops in a very long time and couldn't help. Hill City Chamber on the other hand was very helpful and gave me several of their shop names from which to make a purchase.

Very caring and hardworking staff. Beautiful welcome center facility and large meeting room. Pay particular attention the fact that the chamber has replied to all its negative reviews to solicit specific feedback.

It's a very nice hotel, the breakfast is good. The room is very nice and scenic. It's nice to be here and walk into town. The parking garage is covered, which is nice because your car stays cool sitting in there. There was a very nice coffee shop in there too with some souvenirs. We enjoyed our stay and all the staff was just wonderful

First entering, I was quite confused, but fellow guests were extremely helpful. The 2-elevator system can be a challenge until you learn it. Kenny at the lobby was extremely helpful, friendly and just an overall joy. Our King size room was fabulous. The surprise perk was Dale's restaurant. We really enjoyed the breakfast. The staff really rocks here! Highly recommend!

If I could give this location 6 stars, I would! Our room was comfortable, clean, and spacious with a massive shower. The location was also a huge bonus, because it was less than a 10 min walk to get to historic downtown Deadwood. However, the best part about this hotel is just how accommodating they were to our dog. When we checked in, they gave him a toy, a bowl, and a homemade treat. They also had a large area accessible from the first floor where our pup could run around off leash. They also provided chairs and doggie bags for us to use as well. We would happily stay here again! Be aware that getting into this hotel is a bit of an adventure. Because of the historic nature, you do have to walk through the casino to access the hotel.

Deadwood is a beautiful town. This hotel is in a great location being in walking distance to the main street where they have restaurants and shops. The hotel is connected to a casino. I do wish there was a walking path from the parking garage to the hotel without having to walk through some of the casino. The casino is smoke-free which is amazing and refreshing. It smells great and you don't have to worry about breathing in nasty smoke or smelling like it. They have a nice coffee shop in the casino entrance which is nice. The hotel lobby is very nice and cozy. Great decor. The staff is very welcoming. Our room was pretty nice. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of storage - no drawers and no luggage rack. There wasn't much sink space. We did like they had a fridge and microwave. The shower knob was very weird. To turn off the water you had to turn it somewhere in the middle and just see where when the water shut off. Overall it's a nice hotel and I would recommend staying here.

Lovely hotel. A bit of a hike and two elevators to get to your room but worth it! Swimming pool was great. Dale’s cafe was wonderful food & reasonable breakfast & had a great supper there too. Friendly staff. Great location. Close to downtown. Parking in garage at hotel for $15 a day.

This is a great hotel. The rooms are nice and it’s in a great location. Easy access to the town. The Casino is nice too. However this trip we went elsewhere to gamble. Roxanne and the other older female dealer were extremely rude and ruined the entire experience. They had the worst attitudes, and seemed to hate their jobs. We left within minutes of playing with them. It really ruins our desire to spend our money at the Mountain Grand.

The location is great if you want to walk out your door to downtown Deadwood and not have to drive for food and entertainment. I was concerned when I realized I had booked a "pet friendly" hotel as I have asthma and severe allergies, and I usually always only book places that have a no pet policy. Upon check-in, we were assured that the pets are most often on the first floor, and we were on the 4th. Day two we walk out our room and enter the elevator and there is a couple on our floor with a huge dog. The hotel is practically empty, far from full capacity. On day. 3 of our 3 day stay, we went in to the bar to have a meal and a drink. There was a huge German Shepherd on one side and another very large dog on the other. We couldn't even sit in the bar and enjoy a drink. I don't just have mild allergies. I have severe asthma and a reaction could send me into anaphilactic shock. For the staff to take this lightly and assure me, I would be comfortable and safe upon check-in is beyond disappointing and disturbing.The room was comfortable, location good.But the food at Dales was not very good. I see on another review someone mentioned a cat and I was advisef that cats are not accepted.If you do not want to share your vacation experience with animals all over the place, with hair, dander and barking, this is not a place for you.

What a place! Rooms were clean and the restaurant/steak house was amazing. Service was exceptional. Order a pancake fro an appetizer for bkfst!

Absolutely 100% would never book a room here again. Our room was not ready, well after checkin time. Front desk staff was rude. Upon getting in our room (about an hour later) we heard a knock on our door, my significant other got up to answer the door and a lady (later found out she was a manger) had used a key to enter and began opening the door to come in as he approached the door. She said she had chocolates for us. We left the room, saw a man who was coming out of another guest room. We immediately went to the front desk and asked to talk to a manger. Come to find out she was the manger. Spoke to another manager who was the same guy we saw coming out of a guest room. He offered a discount. No explanation of why the manger just came in our room unannounced. We got a refund on our stay and left. Shady place. Shady vibes and managers that think it’s appropriate to enter guest rooms unannounced. Unreal.

The casino staff likes to harass people for their ID’s. I got carded 10 times in 20 minutes and I’m not kidding.They give you a stamp to mark that they checked your ID and all the staff ignore it. I’m fine with 1-3 times getting ID but, 10 times it is ridiculous. I don’t really leave reviews but since they harassed me so much. You can’t even have fun. If you look young don’t go here. I’m normally an easy going person but that frustrates me. Do I have to have a big sign for them to stop harassing me. They harass anybody that comes within the establishment. The place was completely empty so, for this to happen when not even busy is bad management

Housekeeping is RUDE! Someone named Sadie (?) told me if I want service while she is cleaning 20 rooms, I can grab my own towels, get things from her “cart”? And clean my own room. RUDE! Hire better people and not the refuse off of the street!

I've played Black Jack on a videogame before so I knew exactly what to do -- but in a much more real sense I had no idea what to do. There were so many things I was completely obtuse about, but my card dealer Colleen was so nice and patient while she explained everything to me. She made my first time playing Black Jack (or any tabletop game at a cassino) so much fun!

Pros, it is located on almost the middle of main street. They free valet parking. The hotel is well maintained. The hallways have a contemporary vibe. The walls are painted burgundy, black and tan to match the carpet. The lighting is contemporary in the hallways. The main lobby is old school with chandeliers. The check in process went fairly quick. There were three people at the front desk but only one was checking in people. However, the price I was quoted online is not the price I paid. It was supposed to be 158.00 with fees. I ended up paying over 187.00. So, be careful. The gentleman that checked us in was very polite and helpful, with regards to parking and directions for various actives. The room was clean but the wallpaper was pealing and the title in the bathroom popped when you walked on it. If your room is on the front side of the hotel you will hear everything that is going on. So, I recommend getting a room on the back side, unless you like hearing the night life of Deadwood. However, they do turn down your bed at 5:30ish and put a turtle chocolate on your nightstand. Restaurant, is the Gem. It servers breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is reasonably priced but a little high for what you get. My daughter got the French toast and bacon (was crispy). Both were good. I got the English muffin that an over medium egg, bacon and cheddar cheese on it. The egg was over cooked but over all it was ok. You get a free Mimosa with breakfast and beer with lunch. Thus, price of food reflects the free drinks. The restaurant was clean but service was sporadic. It was dead when we arrived. There were three waitresses. We were immediately seated but it took a few minutes before we were checked on and asked for our order. Most of the staff was doing side work /busy work.

This is a very nice hotel and casino. I would like to give a special shoutout to the staff on shift the night of July 8th and an extra special shoutout to Addy. You guys went above and beyond for me and I appreciate that more than you will ever know! Great place with an absolutely amazing staff!

We enjoyed our time at First Gold again!! Helpful employees at the reservation counter and great food and service in the dining room. Our room was clean and quiet. We really appreciate the employees and look forward to another visit. A very special thanks to Angie in reservation s.😊

Had the dinner special. $12.95 rib eye, asparagus, and side salad. Steak was not a good steak. It was eatable, but, as they say, you get what you pay for. P paid extra for grilled mushrooms and peppers. Pretty sure the mushrooms were canned and the peppers were barely warmed. Asparagus was good, for asparagus. Side salad was a typical salad. Service was slow.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, which I appreciated. However, I was disappointed that the hotel doesn’t have on-site parking—while the parking area is nearby, having to take a shuttle was an inconvenience. But the drivers was awesome! My main issue was with the check-out process. I understand that the official check-out time is 11 AM, and I take responsibility for being late (I left at 11:24 AM). However, the repeated phone calls and aggressive door knocking made the situation feel unnecessarily stressful. When I finally exited, the staff member kept emphasizing the check-out time, which only added to the frustration. With better handling of late check-outs and more convenient parking, this could be a much smoother experience for guests.

Breakfast- our waitress pawned us off on another so she could go eat. OK, but it was really busy and she sat out with all the patrons-tacky. Food ok. Had to send hashbrowns back because they were white raw. Fast forward a couple days. They had a pretty well priced special, but when I asked for crispy hash browns. I was rudely told they couldn't make any changes. (See previous breakfast) I said asking for cooked food didn't really seem like a hard change. Nope cant do it (same waitress that pawned us off prior. Left. Won't go back Hope she loses her job

We had a good night at this motel. The food (& prices) at the diner was great. Parking (at first) was a little confusing, but plentiful. We are already planning to return here.

We stopped in for a steak special, unfortunately the sign didn't notify you it didn't start till 4pm. We ate there anyway and my Ruben sandwich wasn't much to brag about. It was small and dry for the price. The flys were so bad they buzzed around us the whole time trying to eat. Felt like eating outside instead of a restaurant and gambling casino. The server forgot things we had asked for which he brought after being reminded. We did like the view from the windows, watching all the rally goers ride by. Maybe the steak dinner would've been better than what we had, hopefully the flys could be removed.

Went here for the $12.95 T-bone steak is a steal! Mine was a bit overly salted but the steak was still good. For a small resort, they had a good amount of slots to play.

Located in the heart of " historic" deadwood. The hotel is located in a repurposed building. The rooms are clean but smaller than expected given the price,but well designed. There is no parking at thr hotel but there is dedicated parking close.. Be aware that there are apparently 3 small queen rooms that have no windows!..think closet. Also because of its location there is ambient street noise

Actually had a ton of luck here. They have digital craps which is the only 24/7 place to play. $9.99 steaks on Fridays upstairs. The different game rooms go from a low ceiling room to the high ceiling 10' tall machines. We found our luck in the second room and fourth room (with the cashier). The tables were full but it was a semi-slow night. A lot of the crowd was watching NCAA March madness. We didn't win any of the hot seat give aways but always nice to get paid for sitting down.

Have delicious Bloody Mary's made with Zing-Zang, which i LOVE!!! The bartender was awesome! She was fun to talk to!!

Bed in hotel was heavenly. So comfortable. On main street, good breakfast and very nice staff. Highly recommend

Very nice. Rooms are clean and spacious. So convenient to all the activities yet, on a simple quiet street.

Horribly understaffed, and the downstairs bar staff was rude, once you get passed the hour wait to get upstairs to the steakhouse the staff is much better, make and advanced reservation and avoid the downstairs at all costs

Great place to stay for a place to sleep. Jes gave us great advice for places to tour. The staff was very friendly.

Bait and switch is happening here! Once again we received offers in the mail with no expiration date. We called the casino and were told they were valid. When we arrived, we were told the offers had expired and they would not honor them! This has happened before. We asked to speak with management and were told they are busy. We left our name and cell numbers but never received any communication from them. FYI… rewards service counter was very curt, to the point of being rude. Very disappointed. We drove 5 1/2 hours for our $630 of free play that we did not receive then were treated rudely for our effort. Additionally, it is very difficult to get a complimentary drink as there are very few servers. This is the one perk I really thought I would get. I even tried ordering directly from my machine to no avail. When I went to the bar, I was told I would need to pay or wait for a server. I wonder what the gaming commission would think of the bait and switch tactic to get us here?

We didn’t gamble but ate at the Irish Pub. The service was amazing, Shay was our server and she was a joy to interact with. We went during $1 canned beer and $3 whiskey shots special. The food was good and happy hour knocked off some of the price.

Love it because of craps table & cheap roulette only thing is lack of employees so the tables are closed the majority of the time you want to play so take advantage when it’s open or you will miss out! Awesome place clean & slots were pretty loose

It’s a Fri night at 9:30pm..Days of 76 weekend…and they closed Roulette table because they were understaffed. They said I had to play “electric Roulette “. So I did. I was playing, hitting my numbers, for an hour. Not 1 time did a waitress come over…then just my station (of 5 stations) froze. I pushed button for help and I sat there waiting for 20mins watching 3-4 of my numbers hit…super frustrating! No one who worked there gave a crap.

A nice convenience store with Alcohol, wine, beer and gifts.

My review is for the T Grille. I'm on the 24th day of my road trip and this was by far my worst dining experience. Once I was seated I waited about 7 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. I watched people seated after me get their drinks and soup and salad bar. I finally got someone to come over and he was pretty rude. Placed my order and went up to the soup bar. There were six choices that covered a wood spectrum but the ones I tried had little flavor. The lettuce was turning brown and the rolls were not fresh. My pasta dish came and there was no flavor from the Cajun chicken. The chocked seemed to be a processed product. The waiter then came over and dropped the bill on the table, muttered some canned phrase and walked off. Strangely he seemed to interact well with other patrons. Oh well the tip was commensurate with the service.

Great location and staff very welcoming. Easy to walk to town, 2 miles from atv's and trails, and food is fantastic at Snitches and David can help you locate anything within tin lizzie's to make your visit great. Table 7's is unique bj side. Planning a trip back in the fall. Thanks!
