We did a cooking class with Chef John, as well as a flight sampling. As far as the tasting, the staff kept honing in further and further on our tastes preferences, offering additional samples, until we settled on two wines we couldn’t leave without, but hadn’t initially chosen in our flight. As far as the cooking class - What a fun atmosphere and experience! The cooking class was phenomenal! Chef John is so personable and talented. It’s a laid back environment with hands on experience, but one where you can really ask questions and gain insight. We had a great, friendly group of participants. It was fun getting to know others and hearing about their cooking experience, both at home and with Chef John. It was our first cooking class, which initially seemed a bit intimidating, however Chef John put us at ease very quickly, setting the atmosphere for the next 4 hours. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend doing this experience and are looking forward to doing more in the future!
Went vineyard hopping on my birthday. Pulling up to the vineyard was delightful. So beautiful. We sat at the bar and ordered flights from a very nice petite woman. We really enjoyed conversing with her. After serving our flights she disappeared. We didn’t realize it at first. There was a new face behind the bar but she did not approach us or make eye contact. Is she our new server? We asked her for a glass of water and got the vibe we were inconveniencing her. My husband observed, “maybe she’s having a bad day.” We never did see our original hostess again. Seems it would have been a good idea to communicate who we should continue to order from. It was pretty odd. Otherwise, we enjoyed the wine. Bonus, you get to take home a wine glass 🍷 for free from the flight..
Beautiful campus. The tasting room is very nice. Love the building structure. The wines are always good the spirits are OK. Most of the staff was wonderful and interactive. One was kind of rude and really didn't know what she was talking about when discussing spirits and mixed drinks. If she doesn't know, she should just say she doesn't know. Overall, good place to try some new or an old favorite from Black Star.
Beautiful location. Wine tasted good. Really would like to recommend this place, but can't do it. The Bistro Polaris starters/plates/dishes are, let's say, very bugie, with the exception of the pizza. Pizza was good and plenty. We ordered the Veggie Crudite (see pic) for $9 with hummus to start with. We got a total of 8 very thin slices of celery, pepper and two halves of a tiny radish with 2 tbsp of hummus. The entrée-size salads were overpriced as well. The place is labeled as kid-friendly, but has no kid friendly food, no playground. We hoped the goats would make up for it, but no. The goat feed vending machine ($$) was empty. And don't pet the goats. Again, beautiful place, you can hop from the bistro to the tasting room, etc. But plan for another meal and ice cream stop afterwards. Hope they will review their strategy and make this more inviting to come back.
We had a delightful stay here July 31, 2025! The chef, John, is amazing! He prepared a gourmet breakfast, hors d’oeuvres, and the authentic Italian cuisine at the Bistro. We loved the wines and Tasting Room and enjoyed 2 complimentary flights of wine. Our room was very comfortable and luxurious. It was a beautiful farm and hotel. I highly recommend it.
Stumbled on this place looking for the Tesla charger. Found it and then stayed for the delicious pizza and lovely scenery, beautiful place, excellent service and atmosphere, absolutely loved it!
My family and I love to come every year to do wine tasting, and I do love dry wine and my favorite there is Cabernet Franc. How ever all the wines are so good. I was curious about the pear wine. I don’t drink much alcohol to be sincere, but this is a every year tradition and I appreciate the art of making wine in this wonderful place.
This is a wonderful winery. The ambience and decor of the place is very classy, but comfortable. The service we received was very friendly and they were very helpful to any and all questions. We did not have any food there but the wine and beverages that we did have were really good! I would highly recommend doing the caramel apple mimosa. It is an apple flavored mimosa with caramel around the rim and it was delicious. The drive into the winery was scenic and you pass a wonderful, cascading Vineyard. There were other activities going on nearby. There is an eatery on the property, however, we did not partake as we had eaten prior. If you’re looking for a new winery to go to, I would definitely recommend this place, if you order a flight of wine or bourbon you will get a keepsake glass to take home. There are other things that are available not listed on the flight menu. Definitely ask around as I missed a pumpkin old fashioned, which might happen before the end of the season!

Such a quaint, secluded location! The outdoor space is fun and cozy. The Ciders and service are great as well! I don't recommend ordering a snack there though. Our $8 cheese plate had about 6 Ritz crackers, 1/8 of an apple sliced thin, and 1/4 cup of cheese (which was delicious). It was supposed to come with pickles, but they were very busy and we didn't want to bother.
Very pleasant staff who are well informed on every aspect of the product and the process. Had a nice flight with a range of dry to sweet. Great outdoor seating away from the noise.
Delicious ciders and lovely staff. They had sweet and savory crepes for dinner on weekends when we visited. They were delicious and clearly made with love. We'll do what we can to make it back again soon!
Perfect humble cidery. Very relaxed with a small bar but lots of cider options!! We tried 12 different ciders for just $30 with the flights and sat outside in the sun. The ciders were delicious & our #1 was Sunny Day.
If Fishtown is a bit crowded for you, and you're overwhelmed by the sheer number of vineyards to choose from in the Leelanau Peninsula, try Tandem Ciders. My husband found this place nearby when we stopped for gas and I'm so glad we did. We ended up staying several hours and enjoyed a leisurely afternoon, sipping ciders (Smackintosh and Greenman were our top picks!). The service is superb. We sampled a couple ciders before deciding. The prices are very reasonable, and the environment is relaxed and lovely. They have several outdoor seating areas in the sun and shade, ideal for various small groups. We really enjoyed our visit here, and even bought some cider to take home with us.
Tandem Ciders is one of our all time favorite places on the Leelanau Peninsula. The vibe is laid back and friendly and on any given day, you can find tourists and locals alike, enjoying some delicious ciders. I especially like that many of their ciders are on the drier-side, but they do have enough variety for every taste. My personal favorites are Green Man and Smackintosh. One of the traditions we have when visiting Tandem is having a pickled egg. On our first visit, we spied the jar behind the bar and asked about it. Having never had one, we took the bartender's recommendation and tried one. We were surprised at how much we liked it! The indoor seating is cozy. We usually visit in the fall and love when we can sit outside. In the past, there were some fire pits outside to enjoy, but we didn't see them out this past trip. To be honest, the outdoor space could use a little decluttering and sprucing up, but that is literally the only negative thing I could say about this wonderful place.
Did not order any food. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was interesting. Many pictures and graphics. Gift shop with lounge. Outside dining. Wonderful breeze.
Really great hard ciders! Loved the vibe! Fun location !

My best friend and i went to Mawby over the weekend with her parents, the manager Melinda made this my absolute favorite stop during our trip to Traverse!!! i cannot say enough great things about that woman! she is extremely talented and educated, so sweet and so so giving! I will be back for sure! Get that lady a raise!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Dave, the Hospitality Director, is fantastic—he truly made our experience exceptional. He goes above and beyond, and honestly, deserves a raise. The wines were solid across the board, but the standout for me was the “sandpainting” Champagne-method wines. Once they warmed up a bit in the glass, they showed real complexity and impressive length. I bought some back vintages they had in the back to compare. The vibes? Immaculate. Highly recommend all around.
Superb hospitality. They start you with 2 complimentary tastes to help you figure out what wine might suit you best. They provide a bag of chips for between tastings. Open air seating and very pleasant wines. We'll come back.
Schu was an amazing host, very personable. There was a discount for teachers (teacher appreciation month), come to find out that several employees were teachers or worked in the education field. April was our waitress and she was awesome and sweet! Best winery we have ever experienced in the TC area!!
For exceptional sparkling wines in a picturesque setting, look no further than Mawby. They have a truly impressive selection, and all of the wines I sampled (Green, Gold, and Mille 2019) were fantastic. On top of that, the staff are top notch, not just in the service they provide, but also in their knowledge of the many different wines Mawby produces. And if sparkling wines aren't your jam, their sister winery, Big Little Wines, is on the other side of the building. So if you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop. You won't regret it.
The parking lot was packed when we arrived. We were met by a sweet lady who informed us that Mawby was on a wait but we could stop into Big Little to share some wine while we waited. We put our name in with Schu who let us know it would be about 30 minutes. After splitting a bottle of Mixtape at Big Little our table was ready at Mawby. Schu sat us and brought our complimentary tastes of Sandpiper and let us know Flournoy would be taking care of us. Start to finish the team was nothing short of excellent. We shared a lot of laughs, which after the funeral we attended was much welcomed. I had joined the Fizz club on my last visit and Flournoy happily picked us 3 flights to split among our table of five. I cannot recommend this place enough. The product is amazing, the views incredible, and the service top notch. We left with smiles all around. We can’t wait to go back!
Their wines are excellent, unfortunately they won’t let you buy bottles for your table unless you sign up for their wine club which will cost you hundreds of dollars per year. It’s very strange to advertise bottles on your menu without actually being able to buy them for your table. Every other winery around lets you buy bottles, it’s just a little skeevy to try to suck every last ounce of money out of your customers like that by either only allowing them To purchase over priced glasses of wine, or having a stipulation that they must sign up for your wine club. I’ve been here several times but after this last visit I won’t be returning unfortunately.
Nicest folks!!! Beautiful scenery!! Big little right above them!! Great folks!!

I dropped by Suttons Bay Ciders a bit before they were officially open, but the owner was there and welcomed me in. He was very friendly, and the place looked quite nice. I was able to sample several of their ciders in a flight and enjoyed them on the patio overlooking the bay. The view is wonderful, and the ciders were excellent. This is definitely a good place to stop if you like cider and want a great view of the west bay, and it’s worth the trip.
Suttons Bay Ciders is such a great place! The view is absolutely amazing, one of the best in the area, and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. They offer a wide variety of ciders; we tried 11 different kinds, and many of them were fantastic. They even have some unique flavors, like a Jalapeño cider you won’t find just anywhere, and honestly, I really liked it! My wife’s favorite part (besides the view) was the bonfire area. It’s so relaxing and makes for an amazing experience overall. If you’re in the Traverse City area, this place is definitely worth checking out!
Ten stars forever! But kind of using this review as a suggestion box to make an already amazing place ever better :) Suttons Bay Ciders is a permanent fixture in our Up North routine, and genuinely one of my favorite places in the world. We come up from Detroit several times a year, and it’s the #1 thing we look forward to. The view over the bay is stunning, as is the cider (we always leave with growlers of Ginger and Sidra for our Lo Rogers. Also gotta get the cherry slush, when it’s in season—YUM.), and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We’ve caught full moon rises, watched the fall colors roll in, met the kindest people across the bonfire, sang The Edmund Fitzgerald in unison with perfect strangers, and always try to get Gordy the dog to love us. Too many memories to count. Okay now for the suggestion: Please consider moving the porta potty 🙏 We usually camp out in that corner of the property with our dog because it’s one of the more low key spots. Hearing the door slam, getting the occasional whiff—it kinda kills the magic. Especially now that y’all serve pizza, it’s not the most appetizing to eat next to. Maybe I’m picky! Totally get the hillside issue, but a raised pad in the parking lot (or somewhere further from the hang spots) would go a long way. All that said: we’ll be back again and again to this very special place no matter what. Much love ❤️
My husband, dog, and I visited Suttons Bay Ciders on our camping trip. The view and whole property is beautiful. We shared a flight then each got a drink of our own. The staff were very friendly!
Beautiful place to have delicious ciders and other drinks. The views of the bay off the deck and through the bar windows is amazing! Lots of outdoor seating space. Thought the actual parking spaces are limited, people seemed to be parking wherever they could.
Awesome cidery. There are so many different varieties to choose from and the land is beautiful. We like sweet ciders and we loved Smitten and the cherry one as well. Their dog, Gordie, is super cute too. This place is definitely one of the best cideries we have ever been to 😊
On our little tour of the peninsula we stopped here to try a cider sampler. It's a very cool property with an amazing view of the bay. Now the walk from the parking lot to the building itself is not for the faint of heart. But it's worth the climb😉 Once inside it's very cool and the guy behind the counter offered us a $10 cider sampler. We had mosaic, strawberry, cherry and smitten. All were pretty good. Enjoyed stopping here quite a bit it's worth the try :-)
Brian was amazing! Helped us to understand all the incredible offerings, put together delicious mixes, and told GREAT stories about the area. We love being at this bar!

Amazing spot for outdoor seating. Good beer collection and their guacamole and chips are worth trying. It gets really crowded during evenings so better to arrive earlier than peak hours. Can’t wait to visit again in winter and fall season to experience a different charm to it.
Definitely worth a visit. The atmosphere is truly unique—I’ve never been to a place like this before. It was quite crowded on a Saturday evening but didn’t feel overcrowded, creating a fun, lively vibe. It’s a great choice for families, featuring an incredibly large sand area. My wife called the dip the best she’s ever had—it was very good—though the Korean BBQ sandwich was just okay. We don’t drink alcohol (yes, I realize it’s a beer garden), so no comment on that, but the music, environment, and appetizers made it a five-star experience.
Nice location with tons of room for people! Inside and outside seating, including under a tent. Fire pits and stage for live music. A little pricy, but for the experience, environment, and quality I wouldn’t mind coming again! Definitely look forward to coming for the heated igloo this winter!
We really enjoyed the vibe and the beer. It has a large outdoor space, a huge kid friendly sand box, several fire pits, and an outdoor stage for luve music My only issue was with the food: no appetizers available, and it took way too long for our food to arrive. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable visit.
Perfect Summer Spot for Groups and Families! Hop Lot is an absolute gem for a laid-back summer hangout! It’s the perfect place for a large group—there’s tons of space to spread out, and the outdoor setup makes it easy for kids to run around while adults relax with a drink and some great food. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun, with options for everyone—whether you're craving a cold beer, tasty bites, ice cream, or even roasting s’mores around the fire. It’s one of our go-to spots for easygoing summer fun with friends and family. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time sitting in the beer garden. The service was great, the beers and cocktails were tasty and the scenery was beautiful. We'll have to come back to try the food. The atmosphere is incredible!
Absolutely phenomenal food and Drinks! All house made. Staff is incredible and the atmosphere inside & out is well worth the drive!
Only come here if you want to drink great beer and cocktails in the middle of a romantic forest. It’s a must do. We came in October and it was perfect. Leaves changing, pumpkin beer, rosé mimosa (we came early). Stop in for a snack, a drink and a bonfire.

This was our favorite stop and of the utmost quality. A fellow Winemaker friend turned us on to the hidden gem up in Sutton’s Bay. All the wines were nuanced and spoke to their terroir. I was most impressed by the reds which have shown great advancement for their entire AVA especially with the current offerings. The hospitality and carefully curated wine tasting room property rivals the greats on the Finger Lakes. I felt as if we had the full Michigan experience by relaxing on their patio by the fire with a glass of estate grown juice. We bought a case but would’ve purchased more if we weren’t flying.
We decided to take an afternoon trip to wine taste on the Leelanau Peninsula. We went to several wineries. Shady Acres was our favorite! The ambiance was awesome. There are beautiful areas to sit and enjoy your wine, and everyone was so friendly! Fair warning to people that prefer red wine- Michigan is not known for their reds. If you want the best wines Michigan can offer stick with sweet whites like Rieslings. We have amazing ice wine also!
Shady Lane made a nice little stop during my trip through the area. The wine I tried was good, but the Pomeranz Riesling was my favorite; there was a lot going on flavor-wise. The place itself was quite nice, and I enjoyed a spot by the big fireplace downstairs. There was some nice space outside too, so I could see this place being quite popular during nicer weather. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this spot to my friends.
Beautiful winery and lovely wines! This location was a real treat; relaxing ambiance among nature. This stop was among our favorite in the area. Anna was extremely helpful and made us feel right at home. Flew all the way from Tampa, and will definitely be back.
The wine was lovely and their frozen wine slush option was great too. The staff members were our favorite for the helpful advice in planning the rest of our day checking out other wineries and beautiful spots in Leelanau County. Thank you for making our lovely day even better.
I came here for my birthday and had the absolute best experience I’ve ever had at a winery! The property is gorgeous, the wines are all incredibly light and delicious without being too sweet (we tried 7 and they were all incredible), and the vibes were immaculate. However, beyond all of that was the hospitality. Angela was so knowledgeable and even took the time to give us a little mini tour. She was incredibly kind and just made the whole experience top notch. I would come back here in a heartbeat. Just beyond words. Thank you so much!!
Anna and Barb are fabulous! Paige was also very helpful! Shady Lane is one of our favorite spots on Leelenau! The atmosphere is beautiful and the wine is delightful!
We came for the live music and loved the environment & ambience. We got the charcuterie board and pretzels and they were SO good! I’m pregnant so couldn’t try the wine but my husband tried a red that he enjoyed. Very family friendly which was just what we were looking for! Can’t wait to go back postpartum.

Not only did my husband and I have our wedding here, we also visited Ciccone outside of our wedding day various times. The staff are so very kind & knowledgeable. The wine is delicious (my personal favorite is the Gewürztraminer). The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. And the vineyard is quite possibly one of the most beautiful places in the Leelanau peninsula- extremely picturesque views of the vineyard, bay, rolling hills, and beautiful landscaping. Our experience with Janell and Laren were top-notch. I will be sure to write a more in depth review on their wedding services on TheKnot.com, but wanted to be sure to also highlight it here as well for anyone looking. From the first phone call and tour, to post-wedding communication, we were treated with kindness and professionalism every step of the way. Choosing Ciccone for our wedding was by-far the best decision we made in the wedding planning process. They didn't treat us just like any other couple, they treated us like family. 10/10 would recommend a visit at the very least!
Toured this winery for the 2024 Toast the Season. The winery its self is cute, nice atmosphere. I tried a dry red, which I wasn’t a fan of, but I’m sure a dry wine lover would appreciate. Looks like they had a great flight tasting option, for $15.
I will start by saying the grounds and view were wonderful, the staff wasnt helpful or knowledgeable but they weren't rude, just "young". I don't come to Michigan for the wines, but I happened to be driving through and I want to try wines from every state. This was the worst wines I have had. Sadly. Yes, I am slightly spoiled living in California and having access to a wide variety of wines, but these wines were tight and very young. Even the deeper reds were lacking. The absolute wrong glasses for wine tasting and almost zero info on the paperwork given for the pre-set flights (which is fine is the staff is highly knowledgeable - sort of). Beautiful spot, glad I tried it but overpriced for pretty terrible wines.
Staff was rude and don’t appear to even like where they work. We showed up at 5:30 which is last call which we were fine with, we decided we wanted to just pop in and see the place. Instead of greeting us, one of the women just said ´we’re closing.’ I explained we just wanted to see inside and my aunt mentioned ‘we came all the way up from Florida for her (my) 21st.’ Another woman working said ´you came all that way just for this?’ in the most annoyed tone. Someone sarcastically asked whose birthday it was (my mom and two aunts there are 55+). I also want to note it appears that people have been notating the rude staff for 7 years even though they claim to discuss this with them. Not a good business. I do not recommend supporting in any capacity. PS I will keep tabs to see if they delete my review because I suspect that happens here.
I first came to Ciccone Vineyard for a wedding in June and was blown away by the gorgeous views and warm hospitality. Back in town this weekend, I knew I had to return — and it was just as amazing. Stunning scenery, great atmosphere, and such welcoming staff. A true must-visit!
We stopped here to check it out, for my sister's wedding. Family loved the wine and location. Plan on having it here. Will update, after the event. Update: We had my sister's wedding here. It was amazing. The people were great. I don't drink, but everyone I talked to loved the wine. This place also has wine tasting's so give them a call.
This winery is truly fantastic! We had our wedding August 2022 at this venue. They offered a beautiful view of the Vineyard for the ceremony, a large barn with windows that open up for the reception. The view with phenomenal wines served at our wedding became a truly magical day for us! Thanks again <3
Fantastic location with a beautiful (semi-obstructed) view of the bay. The wines are great, especially the Vin Doux Naturel and Frankie, if you're looking for dessert wines. Prices are a little higher than other places, but you do get regular pours for both the regular wines and dessert wines. Stop by for sure! The patio is very nice!

This place has an excellent selection of beverages. From high end wines to ciders and fizz drinks. Staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable in the products they were offering. Wine tasting is affordable and they dont skimp on the amount of wine for the tasting. The store had a small town feel but was very nicely kept and tidy. Definitely add this place to your wine tour!!
Super tasty cider. Get the caramel apple cider.
Bianca wine here is one of my favorite local wines. The tasting room/sales floor is not large, and now serves a lot of ciders, but it's a casual, fun environment.

I fell in love with this winery about 10 years ago when my daughter and I visited. Last year I stopped with a friend for her birthday and fell in love again . The hospitality of the new owners is amazing. The new owners have breathed new life into this place. I am so impressed with their hospitality. Tracy signed the last of the Willows Road trip wine for us.
Our first visit since new owners took over during the Covid years. Tracy & Harry have created an atmosphere with elevated interaction with customer attention unmatched in the region. Wine options are fewer than most wineries, but they are all solid offerings. We prefer dry wines, so the Pinot Noirs were our favorites and the whites were also enjoyable. Very much worth a visit for the tasting experience.
A hauntingly heartfelt thank you to Willow Winery owners Tracy Faulker & Harry Faulkner for conjuring up a spectacularly spooky fundraiser brunch on Sunday in support of the Children’s Advocacy Center in Traverse City. The event was a wickedly wonderful celebration of the season, complete with enchanting décor that transformed the winery into a witch’s lair of elegance and charm. Guests were spellbound by the attention to detail. The raffle prizes were nothing short of magical. The brunch itself was a culinary cauldron of delights. And the debut of their new Rosé? Positively bewitching. Light, crisp, and mysteriously delicious, it cast a spell on everyone who tasted it. Tracy and Harry’s commitment to community and creativity made this event more than just a fundraiser—it was a celebration of generosity wrapped in Halloween whimsy. Bravo to these spirited hosts for making magic happen for such an important cause.
Owners Tracy and Harry are amazing! Service, views and wines are outstanding! Thank you Tracy for making our time at Willow special. Your philanthropic heart and story was so encouraging to hear! It was incredibly inspiring. Hugs!!
Willow Winery and everyone there went above and beyond to help make my friends engagement magical! Truly so grateful for their kindness and hospitality! The view is unbeatable and so are the people working there 🤍 And the wine is so amazing too!
Beautiful winery with a great view, excellent wines, and best of all, an owner and staff who makes a memorable experience. We had a blast with Tracy, the owner, who shared tons of details about all aspects of the wines and vineyard. Sit back and enjoy her stories - she's a hoot! Plus, they also knew all the best angles for taking pictures of our party. Of all the wineries we visited, this is the one we will remember!
We've been coming to Traverse Bay for many years and try to hit a new winery each year. What a breath of fresh air we found in Willow Winery and Vineyard. We were greeted as we walked up the drive and ushered into the most beautiful setting for wine tasting. We felt even more welcomed here than at the three where we're members! It's rare for us to purchase a bottle of Pinto Noir in Michigan since we usually visit Napa/Sonoma/Russian River yearly and love the taste of Pinot Noir from that region. But Willow Winery and Vineyard's Pinot Noir was really special. Great cherry and plum beginning notes and a nice peppery finish without that bitter metallic taste we've found in most Michigan Pinot Noirs. Add to that the delightful setting with gorgeous views and such personal attention and this winery really touched our hearts. Next year we'll be back to try all the Pinot Noirs!
We had a lovely time at Willow Winery & Vineyard! Tracy was very enthusiastic about sharing her story with us. We enjoyed hearing about the road she and her husband traveled to get to where they are now. The rest of the staff is wonderful as well! This winery has an unbeatable view! Such a nice way to relax and sip some wine! We recommend stopping in!

Out of all the stops we made this weekend, this was our favorite. The drive was a bit steep but the man behind the counter was very personable. We highly recommend this off the road gem. The sangria alone is worth the stop.
Very nice! We truly enjoyed our visit. Great owners , scenery and wine was really nice. We purchased several bottles as well as wine glasses.
Closed, need 4 wheel drive to get to the tasting room. Not going back
We loved the fall colors. Pictures don't do justice. Loved the sangria, pino and cherry wine! Will be back soon.
Great service and love there sangria that is freshly made. they have a couple of wine we like.
Off the beaten path to a beautiful scenic location with friendly staff and a unique selection of wines.
If you're looking for a place to find piece of mind, look no further. Very pleasant cottage and beautiful views of sunset. Thank you Mark for your hospitality.
This is one of our favorite wineries to go to! The staff is incredibly friendly and the tasting room has amazing views of the vineyard. The sangria is amazing and something we have returned for multiple years in a row to take home. The late harvest Riesling is great, too!

On a beautiful snowing February day. It was warm and welcoming to have a glass. Enjoyed the inside atmosphere. Staff were super knowledgeable and friendly. Look forward to coming back in the summer and enjoying the outdoor spaces.
I surprised my wife with their romantic picnic in the vineyards - what a great experience - the staff were above and beyond - so welcoming and accommodating - you arrive and go to the taste room, a really cool, rustic barn like structure, pick out your wine and beer (in our case), get handed a very nice picnic basket, and taken by golf cart to a secluded, private scenic hilltop in the vineyards, we had a table with white tablecloth, flowers, serving ware and a very yummy Charcuterie board - mission accomplished as my wife was really touched!!
Rachel did an amazing job with our engagement!! The vibes are dressy but casual! Wines are refreshing for the summer. The hospitality is unforgettable! This place is a MUST if your in glen arbor or south traverse city! Top winery!
This is our new favorite winery in the area. Being kid friendly is amazing
Such a great stop on the West side of Lake Leelanau. Beer was good and the pretzel was nice. Wine options different from their sister properties. We loved Dune Bird and Bel Lago is our favorite winery. French Valley compliments them well!
Incredible experience! The crown gem of the Leelanau peninsula! We did the Raclette Experience at French Valley and we had an incredible spread of meats, vegetables, and fruits to pair with Leelanau Raclette cheese. Our server was incredibly attentive and kind. We loved the wine so much we decided to go for the wine club! The hospitality we were shown was incredible and it’s rare to see the level we were given. This is analogous to Sonoma/Napa levels of winery experiences in my opinion.
Great place to enjoy with kids, the playground and sand hill were a big hit. Beautiful scenery, gorgeous building and great outdoor seating. The wines were tasty, 2016 Merlot Reserve was a big hit. We love Bel Lago, so it was very cool to visit their “sister” winery. We will be back!
We had an amazing birthday celebration picnic at French Valley! Included a wine tasting to select the bottle of wine we wanted for our picnic. The food was delicious and fresh. Ambiance was outstanding. Rachel went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met. Highly recommend this experience!!

The negative reviews of this place kind of crack me up. This is a winery for wine drinkers….the wine is amazing, and everybody there actually knows what they are talking about. It is not a winery for views and ambience. The reds truly are amazing and he truly wants to make the best wine on the peninsula.
Tilted sign on highway in what appears to be a very neglected and ramshackle vineyard pretentiously claims “World Class Reds” ahead. Upon arrival a visitor is greeted with 3 derelict vehicles next to another horrible small vineyard and weedy and unkempt grounds. The winery is a bare pole barn with a half-paved and rutty parking lot and the tasting room tiny and cramped with no seating and limited to only 8 people. There is no venue, food, outdoor seating, or view, except for an old RV. There is a very weird sign on the highway complaining about the neighbors’ political yard signs! The wine list is equally pretentious and wildly over-priced, in my opinion. $150 for a bottle of Michigan wine? And the grapes appear to be mostly brought in from S Michigan or elsewhere. The whole vibe was uninviting and odd, so I didn’t hang around and went up the road to Omena. I suggest you do the same.
Gave this place another try and purchased a bottle of $39 Chardonnay after a tasting, only to get home and find it tasted like straight vinegar. Tried to stop by the winery to get a replacement but they seem to be closed for an undisclosed amount of time? I’d appreciate if the owner would make this right, but there seems no way to know when this business is open. Calling and emailing all week/weekend doesn’t get a response either, making me wonder if this is a sham business. It was incredibly frustrating to try to reach the merchant and get a refund. This shouldn’t be so hard.
Stopped in today for the first time and had an excellent experience. I'd heard good things about the reds, but the timing to stop in never seemed to work out. I reached out before stopping by today. I won't get into the details, but we received excellent customer service from Nathaniel over the phone and from Colleen in the tasting room. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill Northern Michigan winery experience and not your run-of-the-mill Northern Michigan wine. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Beautiful garden and fun ambiance around the whole property! The owner was very patient and knowledgeable and we tried everything. My mother who has never enjoyed any wine before absolutely loved Nathaniel Rose Syrah red and Right Bank. We will visit again ASAP
Hate to leave a one star rating, however there needs to be some accountability. My wife and I stopped in and had hoped to taste some great dry reds. The walkway leading to the tasting room was overgrown with weeds. Walking into the tasting room it was hard to ignore the strong order of mildew and mold. A red haired beared man sat behind a table (possible owner) near the tasting bar, his body oder was so strong, it was over powering the smell of the must and mold. The whole environment was dirty and in very poor condition. Could be the best wine in the area, but the lack of consideration for the comfort of customers is overwhelming. Please take some pride in your business. We wanted to take a shower after being in your tasting room. Couldn’t leave fast enough.
This may look like a smaller winery but the wine and staff are amazing! Of all the wineries we went to this is the one I would pick to return to. They are a little pricier but after you taste the wine you'll understand why.
I love coming here whenever I’ve been visiting the area - great wines, very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you have. This is not the place to go if you want a cheese board etc. they are strictly about the (excellent) wine.

The museum provides an open, we'll lit & welcoming space with displays well organized & clearly described. There are many interesting & beautiful artifacts to enjoy, each with its history & source. We enjoyed it very much & look forward to returning again!
I went here when I was a kid for a school trip, and I have incredibly fond memories of learning about life, and how important the earth is and the culture the earth tells us. I hope you all are doing well! And I can’t wait for you to open back up.
The museum had free admission. The greeters, busy doing crafts, were friendly. There were lovely handmade earrings and some interesting educational materials to take back to our homeschool group. The exhibits were authentic.
Loved visiting here. The docent was so informative and genuinely interested in us as well as the museum & history it houses. Nice bookstore/giftshop, too.
Beautiful museum! Talked to staff and volunteers who were wonderful! Learned a lot!
Nice displays, clean, educational, beautiful views of the bay.
Always enjoy our visits here.
Quick visit, nice staff.

Two K Farms made for a pleasant experience. I’m never sure what sort of cider to expect when trying a new cider house, but they had a lot of great options. Plenty of drier ciders were available, and the Barrel Maker cider was my favorite. It was dry with some flavors of oak, vanilla and cloves, and 100% delicious. The tasting room was quite comfortable with nice views of the bay and landscape, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They even recommended an extra cider to my tasting when they saw my choices. I’d definitely buy their cider if I see it for sale, and you can’t go wrong stopping by.
Absolutely love this place. We went first for Ciderfest and it was perfect, not too loud or crowded with great cider and great views. All the cider is grown, fermented, bottled, and drank onsite. Everyone is so friendly. Hosting a booth from Leelanau Cheese selling melty cheese brats and potatoes was a real treat. I will absolutely be back. And will be bringing all my friends and family. So glad I went!
Delicious ciders. Tried the Sangria and the Apple Crisp. Both were very tasty. Price was fine. We went and sat out on the patio chairs and enjoyed the view of the bay and the surrounding area. Very nice. Must be a popular place with popular drink because had some local customers ordering A LOT of the beverages to take home. Service was excellent and friendly. Highly recommended if you like hard ciders.
Great tasting ciders with a beautiful view! Very friendly and attentive staff. The dessert ciders are a must try! Something you don't find everywhere. The apple wine was AMAZING! This is a must visit among all the wineries!
Very nice cidery. They have a lot of options to choose from. The bartenders brought us a sample of a Pommeau and it was so good that we had to buy a bottle! Definitely worth stopping by here.
Went there for the second and last time today. We had a large group and our server was rude. Also would not allow custom flights because it would “jam up the bar.” We’ll skip this place the next time we’re up that way.
A true Graft to Glass Estate experience with an amazing view of the Bay! They have a great selection of Ciders including Old World, Cherry, and Cider Sangria. Don’t forget to try their line of single variety heritage ciders as well, especially the Kingston Black and Spitzenburg. The owners are very knowledgeable and take great pride in their operation! This is a must stop location in Northern Michigan.
This may be my new favorite cider place! Very cool atmosphere inside and out. Quite comfortable with lots of unique selections as far as hard ciders and wines with lots of "Two K Farms" memorabilia. Nic (Nicole) was very nice to work with and very professional.

This place was captivating, entertaining, and so much fun! What great imaginations these artists have to come up with ideas and then figure out the physics to make everything move perfectly. Then, even before you enter the store, you're met with dozens of eyes looking up at you! As I said, So Much Fun!
Quite colorful shopping for mostly outdoor art. The prices reflect a high feeling of pride. Aspen, Colorado kind of prices. The art is eye catching for sure.
Absolutely beautiful gallery. High end priced glass artwork, clocks, home decor, gardening decor, wind chimes, bird houses, jewelry, and so much more. Handmade wood ink pens by a local artist from Michigan. Definitely a place to purchase gifts for family and friends. Support small business.
We get pieces of glass for our yard every year we are up there. Lots of nice yard art decorations. Definitely if you have a few minutes to walk around the place and take a look at all the different glass work. Some really nice stainless pieces for inside your home also. Lots of different gift ideas for different people.
Wonderful shop. The outside is decorated with metal works, glass lawn ornaments and stone art. It's so colorful. The inside has the more delicate items. The shop is a colorful assault on the senses. I visit this shop everytime I'm in the area!
Was there yesterday 7/22. I recalled that in the past there had been some mention of an owner who did not treat customers well and had made some political statements..which everyone can have free speech that is true. What a relief to read that there are new owners and wow does it show. The water feature out front was flowing loudly and I found many lovely items for my back yard garden. The displays are beautiful and when you first enter they have put paper and pencils there. Take them as some items you give them the display number and they will obtain the item for you. The young women working the register that day were friendly and provided great customer service.
A beautiful store in a beautiful place. We have been going to this shop since 2007. 2 years ago, we visited, and the owner said that they were closing. When we returned this Memorial Day weekend, we were very happy to see that it was open with new owners (Lee and Cindy). Very kind owners, and incredible selection of unique yard decorations and art. Our favorite store in the entire Traverse City area. A must see if you are in the area. Can't wait to go back and see the store and Lee and Cindy.
I absolutely love this store! We make it a point to stop by anytime we're in Sutton's Bay. Their unique selection genuinely can't be beat, stop by and see for yourself because words cannot do it justice.
