I loved everything I ate during my stay at the Drift inn. For dinner I had the chicken pot pie with side salad, it was really really good and I've been day dreaming about it since. For dessert, I had the sour cream apple pie and it was like nothing like I've ever had. It had all the flavors of apple pie but with a nice sour cream tang and a yummy pecan crumble on top. It was so delicious! Perfect fall treat. For breakfast I had the huevos rancheros. The portion was huge, 3 big corn tortillas and it was really good and filling. I can't wait to come back!
We had lunch today at their restaurant and was greatly disappointed by the quality of the food and service. We both had sea food chowder, bread and salad. Had to send my soup back because it was like warm, they hardly give any salad dressing which makes for a dry salad and for the price I expected more, then when I ordered the waitress said that the gratuity was added to the bill automatically and when you get your bill they ask if you want to add to the gratuity, lol, only reason we ate there was because the lady at the welcome center recommended the place as where the locals go to eat lunch. We won't be back anytime soon.
This place has been our go to restaurant at the coast. We've always had great food and service. Until this time. There were 5 of us and I can't speak for the others but I ordered the King salmon. The approximately 6 oz salmon came out dry as it was overcooked. I sent it back and when it came back it was somewhat better. The salmon was less dry but still not moist throughout. The sides were OK. At $31 it was overpriced for the quality especially when the salmon was not cooked correctly. Every other time we've eaten at the Drift Inn it has been great. The best seats are on their back patio. The main restaurant area is a little run down and could use some updating. Because of our previous experiences, that there are still quite a few 5 star ratings, and we've never had less than a 5 star experience previously, we will likely be back and hope the chef is better. We probably won't go on a Monday evening again. The service was very good and worth the automatic 20% tip applied to all meals.
Can’t rate the rooms as we didn’t stay but it was an absolute treat to find a restaurant on the coast with a menu that was mostly gluten free! The food was amazing, hostess and waiter were awesome and the drinks were delicious. Love the laid back vibe and live music. This place was such a welcome surprise for a gal that’s usually relegated to a pile of greens and a grilled chicken breast when eating out. We’ll definitely be back!
I dont understand any negative reviews on here as we have eaten at The Drift Inn every time we visit Yachats and have always had a great experience. We ate there most recently this past weekend and I had a cheese pizza and my husband had a burger and fries. Everything was super fresh, hot and delicious. The service was excellent and our server let us know immediately that there was a 20% gratuity automatically added to the check. We sat out in the back covered patio area and enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance.
Ate lunch at the cafe Quirky decor, comfortable booths, friendly and efficient staff Chicken pot pie: I hesitated, as these are all too often stodgy -- bland and heavy. But this one was amazing! Rich, flavorful, incredibly seasoned filling loaded with chicken, topped with a light crust. My partner had sea food chowder. He's a super-taster, so very attuned to subtle flavors. He found this chowder to be among the best he's ever had. Absolutely delighted that we went there!
The hotel rooms are cute but way overpriced. The sheets are incredibly uncomfortable and scratchy. I've been coming here for about 20 years and it used to be my favorite place to go for any and all meals in Yachats. Unfortunately the prices have gone up while the quality of food and service have plummeted. Too many mistakes on orders, too many times being ignored by staff and tired of being forced to leave a 20% tip regardless of how awful the dining experience was. I will never step foot in this establishment again...which is sad because I used to really love it there. I believe the owner's daughters decisions on how to run the business has done a great disservice to The Driff Inn.
We liked this place so much for dinner that we came back for breakfast the next day! Great draft beer and wine selection with nice local selections. Strongly suggest the smoked salmon omelette and the compote for the biscuits. And for dinner the crab cakes were delish. Dorothy was out server for both and loved her energy!

It’s so cool seeing the water churn and splash up! Definitely one of the coolest places near Yachats to explore, heck in the whole 50 mile area! Plenty of parking and beautiful views and hikes all around! Thor’s Well is just a minute drive away as well!
Just a 1/2 mile walk down. It’s not a super easy walk but not horrible either. Not just for tge young and fit. I’m a chubby 56 year old woman, and it just took me longer, both up and down. Wear good grippy shoes because the ground is uneven once you are on the rocks and off the stairs. They warn you not to get too close, do you don’t get swept in. There are tide pools but they seemed too close to the water which seemed too unpredictable for my comfort.
Great place to stop along the 101. UNFORTUNATELY, we went at a pretty bad time. Seen recommendations to go at various times, but we went at low-ish tide, and there were not that many cool rushes of water. Our recommendation would be to go at incoming high tide. Probably an hour or two before tide is at its highest.
Such beautiful scenery! Everyone should come and explore the beauty of the nature here! Winter and summer, it is absolutely stunning.
One of the best places to see the power of the Pacific ocean if you can come during king tides you will not be disappointed
Dramatic Violent waves crashing into the volcanic coastline creating a fissure. Ranger station right off the Highway next to restrooms and the upper viewing platform. Can walk down the switchback trailhead (~0.5m) down onto the rocky tidepool. Very limited parking $5 parking fee in most spots (there is a free 15 minute parking location) Picnic table
This was a huge highlight of my trip. I absolutely loved the Devil’s Churn located on the Pacific Ocean. It was fascinating and I loved watching it. Even though it looked dangerous if you accidentally fell in. I talked to a local woman while I was there, she told me it was calm the day I was there. She said that sometimes the water would splash all the way up to the highest point of observation.
Super pretty. We paid $5 to park but it was worth it. Easy ramp down then you could explore the rock. Terrifyingly beautiful, if you get near the edge.

Incredible experience where you can feel the spray from the crashing waves and hear their thunderous roar. The path down is easy to walk, but getting close to the water can be a bit tricky for those with mobility challenges. Also, keep in mind that parking is quite limited, so make sure to plan ahead.
Beautiful location! You can walk down the mountain to see the well. It's kinda hard because it's around the bend and if it's low tide there's not as much action. Definitely worth stopping and looking at the scenary
Thor’s Well, near Cape Perpetua on the Oregon Coast, is an awe-inspiring natural wonder. Best viewed at high tide, this “bottomless sinkhole” in the basalt shoreline creates a majestic and thunderous display as the Pacific surges in and out. The backdrop of crashing waves and open ocean makes for dramatic photos, though visitors should keep a safe distance—the power of the water is no joke. A must-stop for photographers and nature lovers alike.
Thor’s Well is a round hole in the rocks where the ocean dramatically surges in and out. You can park along the road and walk down a staircase to reach it. Keep an eye on the tides: At high tide, waves shoot spectacularly through the hole – a breathtaking sight! At low tide, you can explore tide pools full of sea stars, small fish, and other marine life. A must-see spot for nature lovers and photographers..
One of my favorite spots in the United States. I was there after high tide then came back at high tide. Wow, just phenomenal. The power of the ocean hitting up against the rocks. Awesome. Then, watching the water flow in and just drain away in Thor's Well is mesmerizing. Just don't get too close. People have lost their lives getting swept in because there is no way out. Spouting Horn is cool to see when the waves hit a certain way the water gets trapped inside the rock and shoots out. Loved sitting and just watching that. You can watch from the parking area or looking down from the bridge, take the winding ramp down (they warn to stay on the paved path because if not breaks down the vegetation and causes mudslides in the winter), or walk down the steps and explore the rocky landscape.
A beautiful area. The well is unique. The area was particularly active during our visit due to strong tide/wave movement.
Really cool to see! I don't live by the coast so to be able to see this was a great experience. I unfortunately couldn't get there for high tide but there were still nice swells at low tide. Really easy walk from the parking lot to get close.
Well maintained site and great views! Plenty of parking and overlooks of the ocean that are a safe distance from the road. There is a nice walkway down to the ocean that is dog and kid friendly. The city of yachats just north of Thor's Well has a few great spots to eat and window shop.

If you enjoy covered bridges, then the nice 15 minute drive inland from Yachats is worth your time. It’s well maintained, and very photogenic. It’s private property on the other side of the bridge, so we were respectful and didn’t drive through. We just walked through, and soaked up the big wooden beams and the ambiance of the bridge. Not much parking, but we’ve visited the bridge 2x in the last 2 yrs , and only encountered 3 other visitors, and they all were delightful, and had fun life stories to share.
Covered bridges are pretty cool, the architecture and style can vary from simple to ornate, and these are glimpse into the past. This one is an aesthetic structure, nice brick red color and cool construction. It's way out in the middle of nowhere, the road out to it is long, and turns into gravel at one point. There's also a LOT of signage "NO TRESPASSING" "PRIVATE PROPERTY" "KEEP OUT" along the way, so it's not welcoming at all. In fact, the far end of the bridge is entirely private property, again with tons of signs. We didn't stay long, as we felt very unwelcome and didn't want to get into a situation with an irate property owner. It's worth checking out if you're into covered bridges, but we were glad when we got back to civilization.
We found this on the advice of a local lady. Most definitely worth the time to drive out there. There's an Oak tree that has to be hundreds of years old! There are nothing but private residences along the road, so be respectful.
Quaint little covered bridge at the end of the road. There is a bit of parking, no creek access, and a small turnaround. If you are longer than a 4 door long bed f250, don't come. Even that will be very tight. There is not room for an RV and the road is mostly one lane.
Beautiful little Bridge!!!! The road to the Bridge is only about 15 minutes from the main road and is a nice change of scenery from the beach. Towards the end of the road it's unpaved but still smooth. Definitely a fun little stop if you're in the area!
We decided to drive thru the bridge, then back through to park and walk it. It was cool to see. Other side of the bridge was very muddy and made it hard to turn around [in a sedan]. We saw a few people on the way down the road and everyone we saw waved and seemed friendly.
It was fine. Nothing too remarkable about this bridge; as a matter of fact, it's one of the shortest covered bridges in Oregon. It's a pleasant red, and in good repair. It's a 15-minute drive from Yachats, with the last mile+ being unpaved, and the road dead ends right after the bridge. Private property and a couple of houses nearby, there's parking but but much else. Stop by if you're in the area, but otherwise you're not missing much by skipping this one.
I've been to all of the covered bridges in Oregon that aren't on private property. This one is my favorite. The red paint stands out among the ferns, and the babble of the brook makes for a very relaxing setting. There isn't much room, and people do travel down to see it, but that didn't stop me from taking a lunch break during my busy week of squeezing in all of the lighthouses and bridges along the coast by motorcycle. The extra effort down gravel only adds to the trip.

Beautiful! A historic spot for my family. I enjoyed seeing it very much.
Got married there love the church. NOTE no longer married
Very humbling experience. My wife and I are believers, and we visit Yachats every year. Finally managed to get over to the Little Log Church this week, and it was fantastic. Such neat history, and really makes one think. Well worth it regardless of your religious background!
On Valentine's Day, there is a vow renewal ceremony open to all. Beautiful, historic church and museum.
Such a beautiful reminder of a past era..when friends and neighbors gathered and worshiped..perhaps to see it is to long for the past and thr things that brought us together in the name of our lord and savior.
Got married there 25 years ago. Still happily married. Beautiful piece of history.

One of the best art galleries in the area, with a large variety of art forms, including my favorite ceramic artist Jim Diem. Be sure to check out the nature preserve out back before you leave.
Fabulous gallery, great variety of art and styles on the coast.
The online presence does not even come close to the beauty of the gallery. You can also celebrate many varying price points of the art to fit your budget. Much extravagant luxury to choose from. Larger than I expected. Gorgeous!
This is like a huge art museum. Really fine art here and lots of nice jewelry. And for you guys. When your wife is ooing and aawing at something pretend you're looking at your phone but take pictures of what she liked. Then later when you're back home call up the gallery and get it shipped for anniversary, birthday, Christmas, Valentines day..... No more wandering around ar the last minute trying to find her the perfect gift.
Wonderful selection of beautiful art works. Such variety and quality. So much to see and enjoy.
WOW! What a pleasant surprise.. a truely classy gallery with a very eclectic display of art. Really a special place and a must visit if you're in the area.
The building is much larger than it appears/. An amazing variety of awesome art/ All mediums. Original/ Prices from very affordable to......
I purchase something everything I visit. Had a vacation home in Seal Rock that recently sold. However, it is worth the 3 hour drive. I have enjoyed conversations with owner and other employees. My set of playful ceramic dishes is complete. Last purchase was a wonderful mobile.

Stunning sites to see! Big waves at high tide Connect here with the 804 trail to walk an amazing ocean side trail. I’ve even found some pretty big agates at Smelt Sands. If you play Pokémon go, there are four gyms along the trail.
At an intersection of the 804 trail system, you'll discover this small, historical recreation site. Discover how native coastal tribes used the resources this area is named for. Benches along the trail to relax and enjoy the view. Summer flowers add to the beauty.
Two nights at the Fireside Motel with a balcony view of the King Tides. A lot of walking, exploring and photo taking. Tide pools revealed green anemone when surf was low. Trail 804 is open to the public now.
The waves are so big and loud here. It was relaxing listening to the waves beat on the rocks. Down an easy path for less than 1/2 a mile there is a quiet little beach that still gets the waves, but it is safe to go in. The rocky places are dangerous.
Great walking trail. There are bathrooms in the parking lot. You can easily drive by it. There's also a picnic table on the grass.
A vast open area offering stunning ocean views, lined with beautiful trees. The powerful waves crashing against the thick rocks create a dramatic scene. Walking here on a sunny day is both relaxing and enjoyable.
Smelt Sands is a truly beautiful experience. Access from the parking lot is an easy handicap entrance and very wheelchair accessible. Provides also is a large table facing the ocean if a packed lunch should happen to be on your list. The 804 trail facing your right side along the ocean is an easy scenic walk with outstanding "Tree Cave" like walk throughs along the path as my pictures show. There are large open beach view photo opportunities. The area is spot clean and shows the pride taken by it's Oregon residents. Dog's are wecomed but must be leashed and always carrying your doggy bag is a must. My review is to start the trail entrance just before you enter the town of Yachats coming from Waldport it is close to the Adobe Lodge location. From the parking lot to the beach area take the 804 trail on your right side for the most worthwhile views. Absolutely a 5 Star day adventure!
The parking lot is very much improved since the last time I was here. It's paved now and has a small, but decent restroom. The beach is mostly rocky with a few sandy parts. It's actually really neat to see all of the rock formations formed by the crashing waves. You can climb all around it and discover tide pools and rock bridges. Or if you prefer a stroll, stick to the dirt path along the 804 trail and admire the views.

We visited the Yachats Farmers Market on a Sunday morning this past September, and really enjoyed ourselves. A great variety of offerings, and full of friendly and happy people. Food, crafts, fresh vegetables, etc.
I LOVE this famrers market over the Newport one. I love the vendor SlothHouse Designs, and the fuirts and vegetables are good priced, so much variety, and delicious! We will be visiting again!
Small but friendly snd knowledgeable vendors. Fresh vegetables, alpaca knitted hats and scarfs jewelry, and My Mushroom People which have extensive knowledge on the healing properties of mushrooms (not the magic kind). 😉
Always a pleasure. Love the pride in handmade and hand grown products. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I’ve seen my share of farmers markets and this one ranks high. Not too big and not too small. Lots of Carter pardon recipients, but that’s ok too. Water under the bridge.. I love seeing a community that supports each other.
Neat Farmers market with lots of the usual fare. Lots of variety of goods and options. Nice vendors. It's grown from last year.
I love this little market. On sunny clear days, they have a wide variety of fresh produce and gift items. On rainy days, just the produce. Worth the rain, for the excellent selection of fruits and vegetables.
The day we went there were only 8 vendors or so, not many options, and everything was overpriced. Tamale vendor wanted $2 for frozen, uncooked tamales. The rest were selling things you could buy in any coastal shop along 101. Unless you really want some overpriced veggies, I don't suggest stopping. There are much better vendors in the shops down the street.

Great place for a walk with your honey on a beautiful, dry, sunny February 1st.
Good place to run your dog while staying in Yachats. Big grassy field and little trails to wind down on.
Super small, super cute. Basically an art installation, clever as well
Great public access to the beach. Great beach. Open and spacious. My border collie had a blast playing in the surf.
Fun for it's quirkiness, but the spout no longer works according to the innkeeper behind the park (which is really the yard of the inn, it seems). Picture #2 is across the street from the park.
Saw a seal and lots of birds. Make your way to shore if you can.

I picked out some things I liked and planned to go back to get them the day before I left but they were closed. They were graciously able to ship the items I wanted and made my Colorado day! Thank you!
I have no doubt that the artists of this gallery are phenomenal at what they do. However, the “gallarista” Jacquee Christnot is highly unprofessional and has poor customer service skills. I first messaged the Touchstone Gallery four months ago in hopes to have a piece commissioned as a gift. This was the only way I could get in touch with a specific artist. I placed my deposit and proceeded to wait. This was in March and it is now July. I reached out once a month for an update and was not received with the kind of customer service expected from this establishment. I understand that artists have their own schedules but as the artist’s liaison and gallery owner, I was taken aback at the responses I received from Jacquee. She was unapologetic and rude when I asked for updates. I even told her I understood her predicament and only hoped she could understand where my frustrations were coming from, being a paying customer with no information or product after all this time. Her responses proceeded to become shorter and increasingly impolite. In the end, I asked for my deposit back and was told that this was the “best gift” and that I had been “terrible to work with.” That all being said, I DO NOT recommend Touchstone Gallery or the owner Jacquee Christnot. If you have a chance to work with the artists directly, do so.
Right on hwy 101 and quite a variety of locally made arts and crafts. I must admit some of it is unattractive to me (looks like it was made by my 5 year old grandson). I guess that must appeal to someone? But, there are definitely other options there! Be sure to check out the other galleries on that lot.
I stopped here last year and got a beautiful mug. I was excited to return and purchase some other items because I love to support local artists when I'm on a trip. I drove 20 minutes south just to go here. The owner was talking with an older couple while I looked at some bowls. She said, "Those two are sold," and I thought she was talking to the couple she had been speaking to. Then, she walks right behind me and says loudly, "Those two are sold! I'll put them back." She was very rude. We quickly left and won't return. I'm not sure why you wouldn't keep sold pieces in the back, or at least be polite when someone is looking at them. As a small business owner, a decent demeanor is important. If you like to support artists, this is a great spot. I guess just hope the owner is in a good mood?
This is a very eclectic and tremendous gallery, and what gallery is not complete without cats.
Great place, a little of everything and the lady that chatted was awesome! Wee Hector (my baby) found the place very comfortable... 5☆
Not going to lie-I went here to see the shop cats! The owner is friendly, loves to talk about the cats, and knowledgeable about the artists. Aside from petting the cute calico, I bought a kitty ring holder. There were so many items from silly to sophisticated. There are beautiful prints, original watercolors, pottery, jewelry, cards, scarves, etc.
What a splendid array of artists, most local to Oregon. This isn’t your typical gift shop of cute trinkets from hither and thither - it’s a carefully curated and affordable selection of handmade art - pottery, fiber arts, collage, mosaics, watercolor, mixed media. Very happy we discovered this gallery and added another artist’s work to collect.
